Lucy Quinn is the brainchild of New York Times bestselling author Deanna Chase and USA Today bestselling author Violet Vaughn. Having met over a decade ago in a lampwork bead forum, the pair were first what they like to call “show wives” as they traveled the country together, selling their handmade glass beads. So when they both started writing fiction, it seemed only natural for the two friends to pair up with their hilarious, laugh-out-loud, cozy mysteries. At least they think so. Now they travel the country, meeting up in various cities to plan each new Lucy Quinn book while giggling madly at themselves and the ridiculous situations they force on their characters. They very much hope you enjoy them as much as they do.

Deanna Chase, is a native Californian, transplanted to the slower paced lifestyle of southeastern Louisiana. When she isn’t writing, she is often goofing off with her husband in New Orleans, playing with her two shih tzu dogs, or making glass beads.

Violet Vaughn lives in coastal New Hampshire where she spends most mornings in the woods with her dogs, summer at the ocean, and winters skiing in the mountains of Maine.

UPDATE: I listened to the audio version today and enjoyed a lot. The narrator was good, as always. She uses just enough accent to remind us we are in Main. She does a great Rain who is a favorite character. Enjoy the ebook or audio, better yet do both at the same time.
As we ended last time Cookie had made her decision, she chose local hot handyman, Dylan over her hunky former FBI partner, Hunter. We also get to see more of her funny quirky mom, Rein, and we find out some interesting things about Dylan. Got your attention?
It wouldn't be Seal Isle if something didn't happen. On a girl's night Cookie, Rein, and BFF Scarlett find a body. A well-liked older local man. So begins the investigation. Since Hunter is out of town, Rein volunteers to partner her, no matter how much Cookie tries to discourage her. Some fun there.
I loved that we get to see her relationship with Dylan progress and the secrets about him.
As always, the author infuses humor with the real detective work.
I thoroughly recommend this to fans and new readers alike. You don't have to have read the series to enjoy each individual book.
I voluntarily reviewed this advanced reader copy and I have not been compensated in any way.

This was the most intense book in the series and the one I read fastest, in one breath. It was a great conclusion to the series. Equally well written as the previous ones, interesting plot and complex developed characters. When I reached the end of this book, I was probably able to draw a map of Secret Seal Isle and part of Hancock. Final secrets are revealed, and all is put in place.
Cookie comes out as a star as we expected, Dylan is wonderful, Hunter is back to bearable, and Scarlet is beautiful. Rain is better than ever, and Sheriff Swan is just himself, which is tragic and amusing at the same time. There is a lot of love and some tragedy in this book, and villains are mean as they get.
Usually, I am very sad when my beloved series comes to an end, as is the case now, nut the authors resolved all the issues so beautifully that I have no regrets. This does not mean that I would not like to read more of Cookie’s stories, but I am content with the ending the way it is.
The books are best read in order to understand the character development and the romantic evolution of the story. The reading order is: New Corpse in Town (Secret Seal Isle Mysteries Book 1), Life in the Dead Lane (Secret Seal Isle Mysteries Book 2), A Walk on the Dead Side (Secret Seal Isle Mysteries Book 3), Any Way You Bury It (Secret Seal Isle Mysteries Book 4), and two more books are coming Death is in the Air (Secret Seal Isle Mysteries Book 5), Signed, Sealed, Fatal, I'm Yours (Secret Seal Isle Mysteries Book 6) and Sweet Corpse of Mine (Secret Seal Isle Mysteries Book 7) coming in early 2018. This is my absolute favourite cosy mystery series, it is only getting better, and I highly recommend it.

This is a great book; this is the sixth book in the Secret Seal Isle Mystery Series written by Lucy Quinn. After making her choice between Dylan and Hunter, Cookie James’ love life is finally in order. And now she’s ready to enjoy a little girl time. A bonfire on the beach seems like the perfect outing… until her mother Rain heads off for an outhouse break and finds a dead body instead. When Cookie calls Hunter for help, she finds herself in the middle of another murder investigation and the two men in her life. This time she has her hands full, dealing with a budding relationship, a cranky ex-partner, and a crime involving an old pirate treasure. Even more so when the stakes are raised and someone close to her is kidnapped. With everything on the line, Cookie has to solve the murder and make sure everyone else makes it out alive. This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. This book will keep you reading long into the night. If you are looking for a great book, then you need to read this book. I am looking forward to reading the next book by this great author. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader’s copy of this book. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

Cookie finally made her choice in the last book...she just hasn't been able to tell Hunter. She and Dylan are taking it slow, so slow in fact that Raine is threatening to move in on Cookie's man to show her how it's done!

Secret Seal Isle has more bodies to be discovered, sunken treasure and a mysterious local benefactor to be revealed. Only on a girls night out on a tine island could Cookie and crew find a dead body. As usual the local deputy is about as energetic as a sloth and wants to write it off as an accident. Lucky for said dead guy, Cookie has other plans and manages to get justice along the way.

Much hilarity ensues with Raine attempting to be Cookie's gum shoe intern! I always knew Dylan had a past but I never expected it to be quite so...heroic! Hunter makes it back in time to help out and manages not to let his petted lip get in the way of aiding our intrepid heroine. There is also a most novel way of getting to a criminal hideout I have ever seen!!!

Great series, engaging characters and laugh yourself silly moments. Well paced storyline and a great little comic world to get lost in.

THRILLING - MYSTERY - HUMOR

THRILLING Mystery; kidnapping, humor, gripping suspense, chilling action, hot alpha men, life-threatening moments, vivid scene descriptions, emotional moments, and passion have you turning pages until the last word.

Cookie again finds herself on the hunt for a murder; Secret Seal Isle is quaint but unfortunately, dead bodies keep showing up. Cookie has finally picked Dylan over her ex-partner Hunter who is bummed out about it and shows his annoyance. A kidnapping has Cookie, Hunter, Dylan, and Rain chasing down suspects.

Fabulous fast-paced well-written story as it had me laughing, a bit on edge, and swiping pages to find out what happens next. I loved all the characters in this story as they are engaging, as well as praise-worthy. If you enjoy romance with a murder mystery twist this is definitely a fantastic book for your library. I enjoyed this story so much, (I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy.) Without reservations, I recommend this book.

This is a fast paced, fun, mysterious Read with action suspense and some romance and another great story in The Secret Seal Isle Mystery series.
As with the previous books, it quickly pulled me in with lovable characters and an interesting storyline and didn't want to set it down until the last page.
Loved that finally Cookie and Dylan's relationship has progressed even though Hunters dislikes the thought she chose Dylan over Hunter. This is the most serious of the series and I enjoyed the humor from the previous books. Had some typos but didn't deter from the story.

I recommend reading the previous books in the series so you can get a complete idea of the characters background but not necessary.

Looking forward to more books by this author

Cookie is an ex FBI agent turned inn keeper who still seems to get into trouble. Her crazy mom Rain, her best friend Scarlett, and her boyfriend Dyan Creed are by her side as all the craziness happens in this sleepy little town. When yet another crime happens cookie teams up with her ex FBI partner and friend Hunter to solve this case.
OMG! I LOVE the characters in this series, they are loveable and so much fun. It's truly an amazing story full of mystery and action. If your into who done it story's then this will be your new favorite series. Don't miss it.
Voluntarily reviewed a copy and I honestly loved it.

What a fun series! The characters have become more endearing as the series progresses. Now that Cookie has finally realized Dylan is the one for her I’m hoping Hunter and Scarlett become an item.

There’s a Murder to investigate and Cookie is determined to handle it on her own. As she begins her investigation with her mom as her sidekick, Scarlett becomes worried and contacts Hunter who arrives and immediately takes over the case. There’s a lot of tension and short tempers but when Scarlett is kidnapped Cookie, Dylan, and Hunter pull together to find her before it’s too late.

I received an arc of this book and voluntarily provided a review.

This is such a fun series with a great mix of murder and romance. Cookie and Dylan are finally together but it doesn't mean they get to go off happily ever after. There is off course another body and it brings back her ex-partner who is not happy to have been pushed away by her new relationship.

I highly recommend the series. It manages to be very light-hearted even with the murders and angst about which man she should choose. The cast of characters has you laughing out loud. It is great to read them in order but you can jump in as well.

I am voluntarily reviewing a copy I received.

My favorite of the series! I absolutely loved this book. It is action packed and there is not a slow spot in it. Cookie has made her decision between Dylan and Hunter. Rain discovers yet another dead body, and Cookie tries to investigate on her own. Yeah, that doesn't go so well. Hunter is called in. Oh boy! Sparks fly, and not the good time either. There was so much in this book that I did not want to put it down. Can friendships be saved? Think more along the lines of can lives be saved......

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Uh oh, after turning Hunter down and choosing Dylan the last thing Cookie needs is to rely on Hunter again. So what happens when she stubbles across a dead body? Why she investigates alone, well sort of.

Another great instalment in the drama that has been Cookies life since her move to secret seal. I honestly had a little giggle at Rain. And of course we see how things move along with Dylan.

Lucy and her mother have moved to a Secret Seal Island to get away from a murderous situation in her previous FBI job. Unfortunately for Lucy, she doesn't seem to be able to escape murder and mayhem. Even though she finally got her man, the ex-partner still manages to stay involved in her life. A fun, fast read. Looking forward to the next installment.

So enjoyable!

This is the ideal of cozy mysteries to me. I love murder mysteries, romance and humor. Cookie being an ex FBI agent makes it more interesting with her hippy mom breaking laws left and right.

another great story with Cookie James. This time Dylan was more prevalent and I have to say I enjoyed that. I would like to see more of what he can do as a former navy seal.

I enjoy reading about Cookie and her Mom and the rest of the characters that come and go. They're not conventional characters, and there's just enough crime and seriousness to keep me reading. A nice break from reading psychological mysteries.

Cookie has chosen! Now, she can loosen-up a bit. Oh wait, no she can't, because: 1) Rain and Winter discover another dead body, 2) either Cookie or Deputy Swan will have to investigate (that leaves Cookie!) and 3) somehow, Hunter arrives to handle the investigation (is he psychic, now?), and he's hurt and cold toward Cookie! Only the start of Cookie's problems...
Page-turning, laugh out loud, cozy mystery! Cookie and crew continue solving crimes using their unique investigative approach! And then there's the romance... Another winner!
