Having come to terms with his growing feelings, Natsuo chooses his peaceful days with Rui. That is, until an unexpected reunion with Hina shakes his resolve… It’s the nonstop cycle of meetings and farewells that is life. With new girls entering the mix, love grows ever more complicated.
This was one of my favourite volumes because of Yuri-chan. It was such a heartfelt arc to read through. Unexpectedly made my heart clench reading what happened. Well, it happens a lot in this Manga. And my god that last chapter tho. I guess I am team Rui now.
I still think Rui deserves so much better. But maybe, the better is coming? I did like the story with Yuri and Natsuo, he's really a good kid, when he's not being annoying about Hina
Give my girl Rui a break. I can't believe they are really making her try to have a relationship with the same guy who tried to rape her... Jesus Christ. ALso why are all the gay men portrayed that way? All them crossdress (and they are the butt of the joke when they do because they look "ugly") and touch the protagonist without his consent... Great representation, thank you so much for including them!!! /s
This series can really hit some good moments. The story with Yuri, the hostess was easily the best part of the volume. It felt more grounded and was a touching story. Yes, the drama and gags are over the top but the heart of it was there. This series works so much better when it leaves the fan service at the door. The beginning was too much of the same. Rui needs to have the spotlight and I'm glad to see her getting more of it. The final chapter was the usual cliffhanger.
I'm kind of impressed by how this series manages to feel realistic and wildly unrealistic at one and the same time (I'm not talking about the plot, I get it's Melodrama with a capital M). Case in point, the bra. Kiriya-sensei working it out? On point. Taking it off and leaving it there in the first place? Never happen.
It was veryyyyy goood. The first few pages are just trash. I understand why Hina said what she said but it's just noo. But Yuri-chan is a very very good character
Rui coming to the front of the narrative AND Natsuo's mind in this volume?!
I have spoken of how this series is oddly compelling, but there is something about the way it juggles outlandish and realism. I feel that for what it is, it is well crafted and the result of the author's intentionality.
While kind of broad and campy the way they deal with queer stuff is pretty good. Also, I was not expecting to see the Nathan Fielder method being applied but here we are. Also, touching on the very real thing about the ethics of interview and broadly speaking "journalism" is pretty interesting.
It was mostly about how Nat-kun got used to his apprenticeship but at the end of one of the chapters there's a dark twist. I am glad that it seems like they are having Nat-kun and Rui get along and i wish it will put them back together as a boyfriend / girlfriend pair again soon.
