LOVE the WI digital library for the large collection of local-themed books. This tells several stories of ne're-do-wells from the late 19th to mid-20th centuries, from mostly Manitowoc, Calumet, Outagamie and Winnebago counties. Story telling becomes confusing when tangential information about minor characters overtakes the major story line, but it reads like my grandmother telling the story. I wish she was alive to ask about the guy who was definitely from her neighborhood! Unfortunately I couldn't ask the author to "back up a minute" to clarify things. Most stories are not as gruesome as the title suggests, but there was that neighbor kid who murdered and dismembered a guy long before Steven Avery
