Hope Sanders is a no-nonsense girl who believes her straight-shooting ways will keep her single for the rest of her life. She has a fast-paced job, working for the only doctor in Nowhere, Texas. When her doctor’s nephew comes to apprentice with her, she is immediately frustrated, because they see things so very differently.
Stephen Bennett has a great deal of compassion for others. He doesn’t like the way his aunt’s assistant talks frankly with the patients about money, but he finds himself more and more drawn to her anyway. When their bickering causes his aunt to tell them they have to figure out a way to work together or one of them will be gone, their relationship changes. Will Stephen be able to convince Hope they’re meant to be together? Or will they each spend their lives alone?

Edna Petunia's wedding day

Hope has finally found her perfect job working as Dr. Iris' assistant. She can be usual blunt, outspoken self. When the doctor's nephew Stephen comes to Nowhere to finish his medical training with his aunt, things get a little bumpy as he and Hope bump heads at every turn. When Stephen reveals to Edna and Cletus that he wishes to marry Hope, Edna sets out to finally get the wedding of her dreams. Hope is clueless, Stephen is frustrated, and Edna Petunia's pleased as punch. Will she get her wedding? Will Hope get her happily ever after? A fun, quick read.

Enjoyable, sweet story

I enjoyed the story of Hope and Stephen's romance. Would have liked more development of their relationship and interaction between them. Which was my reason for 4 stars rather than 5 stars. Seemed a little too rushed, still a good story that gave me many smiles.

Outspoken Hope

Would Hope and Stephen ever find a way to work together in the small office without getting on each other's nerves? Would they figure out that they were meant for each other? You'll need to read this wonderful story for yourself in order to find out. Amazingly well written. I can't wait to start the next book in the series.

Another One of Kirsten's Wonderful Books.

I so enjoy Kirsten's continuing series about the Ophan Girls from New York who are sent to Nowhere, Texas. The series is very enjoyable & I look forward to read about each girl & their personalities.
However, I really would like to know what years these events are occurring. It seems like the early 1900's, but I am not sure.

Fun!

This was such an entertaining read, Hope is so honest it comes off as blunt which’s causes quite a bit of confusion for Stephen. He cannot tell wether he wants to kiss her or run away from her, lol!

Another sweet romance, another Orlan orphan married

I love how the author is connecting the dots between series. Seattle flower girls to Nowhere, Texas. Totally unexpected!!! Not a standalone, so newbies might be lost. Thanks, KO.
