Demented Sons MC #3

Erik's Absolution

Rate this book
Avoidance doesn’t make our sins go away. Especially if we refuse to believe that those sins we feel burdened with, aren’t actually ours to bear. Forgiveness is most difficult when it’s ones self needing the absolution, and guilt is a destructive beast.

Erik Jaeger had been the town’s football star, and all-around golden boy. But without an explanation to his family or friends, he dropped out of college. Throwing away a promising career in computer engineering, he joined the Marine Corps. After six years and too many demons nipping at his heels, he was tired and ready to go home. He found you can’t run forever from the monsters that chase you… eventually, you have to fight back. Upon returning home, he joins the Demented Sons MC; a group of men with unparalleled loyalty toward each other. Betrayal and failure were subjects he knew well, and they had left distrust and self-loathing, simmering with bitterness in his soul. He immersed himself in his MC, his family, but mostly his motorcycle and his computer security business… things he had control over.

Kassandra Donahue had her life planned out, including a full scholarship for her four year nursing degree. After a series of events tore her life asunder, nursing school at the community college came out of her own pocket. So she worked a job she despised, focusing on the light at the end of the tunnel. Letting a man into her life was absolutely not on her list of priorities, until Erik, with his turquoise-blue eyes and infectious smile, hit her like a tornado. Her heart didn’t stand a chance. But when he allows his past demons to take control, he inadvertently crushes her fragile heart in his fist, and her friend and colleague, Hunter, steps in to reconstruct her heart from the rubble.

Erik and Kassi have an undeniable magnetism between them. They skip simple sparks, going straight to raging inferno. But will they be able to get past their pain and ghosts to find the happiness and love they so desperately need?

Erik’s Absolution is a story of one man’s overwhelming guilt, which prevents him from accepting the possibility of happiness. Can he learn to forgive himself for events he couldn’t control? Or will he forever dwell within a finger’s breadth of the absolution he deserves?

This is Hacker's,Erik's and Kassi's story.

As each book before it keeps the theme of pregnant girlfriends. Thankfully she was not kidnapped in this one.

Erik doesn't think he is good enough for anyone.... women lie, cheat, and are never to be trusted. He went through hell in his senior year of college.

You've met Kassi before but not by this name. She was 19 when her world turned upside down and she still had to fight to get her little brother. She is strong and will do anything to protect him.

A good book... let's check out the next one now....

I love the series, the writing, the editing. This particular one, not so much. Just too much drama.

Yes To Erik's Absolution

Erik's Absolution will bring you on emotional roller coaster but it's worth the ride. Erik aka Hacker is the male lead, he is sexy, smart, funny and stubborn but he also is set in his ways. When Sparkle aka Kassi who will break up him guessing his view on woman, love and relationships. This author will break both of these two characters before she puts them back together. So be prepared to laugh, cry, ahh, ohhhh and grrr.
I wanna know what happens to Hunter...I want to see that character get an HEA.
Overall another great story by Allen. Happy Reading!!

I’ve read previous books by Kristine Allen and I have to say that I enjoyed this one. This book focuses on Erik Jaeger and Kassandra Donahue and the development of their relationship.
This book is about past demons and how sometimes it is hard for people to love on. It was also nice seeing characters from previous books. Definitely a series I will continue.

This book was so different from the first two but in a great way. Love that the author makes each character come alive. You actually feel the characters and Kristine has you talking to the characters as if they can hear your frustration or your happiness with them. Definitely recommend this series!

This is a great series! It is more about the characters than the club but it's still a great read! Can't wait for the next one

This was not good

I was so looking forward to Hacker's story and this is a let down. First of all, doesn't somebody read the book before they publish. Example, Hacker and Cassie start having sex everywhere they can sneak off and do it. That is what was written but 2 or 3 chapters later Hacker is talking in his head and asked how he can be so strung out on her when they only has sex twice.
Also, how Joker and Hollywood confront Hacker about him not bring Kassie around and how everyone knows she had even been staying at his house and then she gets attacked and Hollywood and everyone is surprised he took her home because no one knows about the relationship the were having. This kind of thing ruins stories. Add in the ramdom x wife coming back out of no where and this book is just bad.

What the heck happened to this series? The first book was really good, a 5*****good. The second, still good... But this? One s*** after the next, just for dramas sake? After all the stuff and there is A LOT the Author put them through, when they finally start to talk, the author had throw in the wife too? I should have known it was coming, because it was the one thing, that was left... The poor Woman, who raises her brother, the tortured brother, the assault, the not cheating, the fu**ddy who catches feelings, the pregnancy, the meddling clubwhore, new boyfriend she doesn't love-love... Their near death situations, were they felt each other🙄, the premature baby and finally they talk-in comes the wife... 74% in an I just can't anymore.
Now I'm a little afraid to start Joker.

A strong story for the series

Erik (aka Hacker) was private. He carried around some much guilt for things from his past that he almost missed the opportunity to live a great life. Even his brothers from the MC, Kayde and Colton, tried to tell him not to push the beautiful exotic dancer that he was spending all his free time with, away because he deemed himself not good enough for any relationships. Kasandra (Kassi) was a fierce young woman who was the provider for her and her brother. She was working at the Emerald to pay for college and life expenses. Hacker was drawn to her but kept pushing her away. Read On!

Erick is stubborn and pigheaded!! Even though he hasn't 4given himself 4 his past he doesn't think he's worthy of anything and love cause of that thoughtless cheating cunt of a ex wife. It's understandable but after everything happened 2 him in a freak accident, it was a major wake up call. They almost lost him a few xs but God and "mom" had other ideas. I sooooo wish I had a love like she had with Hunter 2 stand by her through everything good and bad. After everything from beginning of their friendship and after what happened 2 both of them, what happened 4 their future? Read it and find out asap!! I loved it and didn't want 2 put it down.

This book has a lot of good reviews and I get it, I see the potential but the inconsistencies drove me absolutely bonkers. There were aspects of the story that feel key to the story line (them fucking like bunnies but then they aren't talking anymore and suddenly they only slept together twice) and then just simple things like a nurses name being Debbie and four pages later now it's Delila. Inconsistencies just tend to frustrate me and ruin the story for me. That and typos. It just comes across sloppy and it means either no one proof read the story or those who did didn't read thoroughly. I feel like if those weren't factors, this could have been 4 stars for me.

Great

Kassi is rasing her brother, going to school and working as a stripper. Erik is ex-military and a member of the Demented Sons MC. Kassi and Erik meet through her working at the club owned strip club. Sparks fly at first sight. But Erik doesn't want a relationship due to his past. Kassi didn't want either because she had enough issues in life. But What will happen when feelings start to happen? Will Erik let go of the past and see what's in front of him before he loses Kassi for good? Will they get a HEA?

Way too much angst

I was so looking forward to Hacker’s story and I usually love this author’s books but I could barely get through this one. (SPOILERS)......Hacker and Kassi spent most of this book apart and heartbroken. Hacker had SO many chances to fix it and he backed out every time. It was just so disappointing. Kassi even ends up with another guy for a while. They finally come together at the very end and the ending was good. But they’re apart and sad for so much of the book that I just couldn’t like it.

Another amazing read

Love Erik and Kass's story but these big Alpha men are breaking my heart. Erik is so damaged emotionally and has trust issues with women that you just what to give him a big hug and share your strength with him. Kristine, you did an amazing job with this story and series. The flow of the story and the event that happen is so believable. Thank you for sharing your work with us.

My favorite so far

The story of Hacker and Kassie is my favorite so far. Two people that have gone through so much in their lives. When they meet the passion is there and it's hot. Unfortunately other circumstances come into their way that could destroy them both. Grab your tissues for this one. You are going to go through one amazing ride. We also get to meet Hackers family and I fell in love.

Make sure you have some tissue

Hacker and Kassi have a long and tumultuous road. It is amazing, loving, heart wrenching . At one point I had to stop reading just to catch my breath and hope that when I got back to it .. Just hoping Kassi chose who I wanted her to (call me crazy that's how invested I get when I read) Hacker's struggles with his guilt over things in his past was heartbreaking..

The greatest story so far!

This one was tough. This poor guilt ridden soldier! This nice girl with few choices. Such a great story. True good and evil stuff. Lifetime movie worthy. And just like real life, the bad guys don't always get what is coming to them. Really like this series.

Wow

Wow, just wow! This was one amazing book. It took a little bit to really get into, then it took off. Talk about an emotional rollercoaster. Keep tissues close. I had to force myself to stop reading so that I could go to bed. Just read this book, you will be glad that you did.

Great book

Another fantastic story by the author, well worth your time to read. Thoroughly enjoyable characters with an interesting storyline. These bad ass alpha bikers do it again, and once they do they fall hard for the girl of their dreams, even though it's not without a few ruts in the long road to happiness.

Overall, it was good.
There were issues with continuity of the story. Things happening, people say and know things, and then later it's stated otherwise. It would be confusing if I simply wasn't sure, but I'm thinking it's more an issue of editing. Something was fixed or changed and all the details weren't handled.
It's a bit distracting.

Great read

Wow, I am so glad that I was able to read about Hacker and Kassi. They definitely were good together, at least after Hacker was able to figure out that she was the one for him. It was a close call there for awhile. I can't wait to see if Hunter has his own book, even though he isn't part of the Demented. This is another must read.

Too much miscommunication & i hate miscommunication trope with capital H! & seriously Hunter deserves more! I hate it when they have OW/OM drama but I think Hunter should be together with her. He such a sweetheart. I really dont like where H/h got together with someone just to test the water to move on. It sucks to be the other partner.

Not that it was an amazing read. It wasn't possible for me to empathize with Erik's traumas. The other guys have had it screwed up, however, they respected all the women, they walked away more they weren't jerks to them like Erik was to Kassi. Plus there was always a strong connection beyond sex, something I didn't see in this couple.
