Annabelle Lee isn't lonely during the holidays, how can she be when she's already dead, and everyone knows ghosts definitely don't get lonely. Eerie Thistlebottom, Blue Moon Bay's adorable resident zombie, doesn't agree and decides that this year her bestie in death will not be spending the holidays alone. So she writes up an advertisement. One human wanted. No money, no problem...must do well with spooks.
Dante Martin cannot believe that his beautiful, yet kind of silly, twin sister actually answered that ad. Being the dutiful brother he is he goes to help her move on only to discover that the mystery of the haunted shack high up on the hills of Blue Moon Bay does indeed come with a lovely ghost, a jealous ghost dog, and a secret that could threaten to rip apart their holiday magick forever...
I'm a long time fan of this author, so I may be slightly biased with my praise, but this book, and the series as a whole is amazing. I love that each book follows a different set of characters, and each story is its own, even though they're all HEAs. Jovee winds together serious situations with powerfully witty and occasionally hilarious dialogue. There are moments when I just have to pause my reading to share funny moments with my husband, and that is my favorite part about her books. They are all fresh and fun to read... and near-impossible to put down. Looking forward to more Blue Moon Bay shenanigans, already have the next one pre-ordered (March is too far away)!!!
Since I don't normally write reviews unless I have something specific to say, here's the break down of how I rate my books...
1 star... This book was bad, so bad I may have given up and skipped to the end. I will avoid this author like the plague in the future.
2 stars... This book was not very good, and I won't be reading any more from the author.
3 stars... This book was ok, but I won't go out of my way to read more, But if I find another book by the author for under a dollar I'd pick it up.
4 stars... I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be on the look out to pick up more from the series/author.
5 stars... I loved this book! It has earned a permanent home in my collection and I'll be picking up the rest of the series and other books from the author ASAP.
This is the 2nd book and you can definitely read it all its own. Although, I would say it just adds to the charm of Blue Moon Bay overall to have read the previous book.
I loved the characters, and the relationship that forms between them. The mystery of the entire situation just adds to the overall story. The flow from beginning to end is a good one, plus the length of the book is long enough you don't feel as though it's wasted. Your money and time won't be wasted at all with purchasing this book. I really liked the book, and highly recommend whether you're into romance/paranormal, a fan of the author or like similar authors. It's an easy and happy read with a bit of comedy-bit of mystery-bit of love=a great combination.
I will say that I was crying by the end not knowing how it would end but I am glad it ended the way it did. Loved how the story unfolds and how the magic of Blue Moon Bay brings the right people to where they are meant to be. Cannot wait to read more and find out other secrets of this place.
Good story even though it made me cry. The ending is heart warming but Annabelle Lee's life is heart rendering . She deserves to be happy in death. I do not understand kliens actions.
This is a surprising book--the possibilities it opens. Just when you think the Aunts'magic is just moon madness, it all comes right. This is a love story not quite like any you ever read before; a love different from any others, different even in Blue Moon Bay.
The characters come to life in this charming story. Annabelle's story will keep you reading until the end. The storyline and characters will entertain and charm readers.
Cute story about a ghost with a dark past and a twin with a big heart in a world full of curses and hope and love. I am looking forward to more of the Blue Moon Bay series!
A good read but I really didn't enjoy it as much as the first. Seemed a bit longwinded and the solution could have been achieved in half the time. Ghosts, an abandoned building, a new tenant and her brother are mixed in a plot to find out why the ghosts are still earth bound. Sorry really not my favourite read although I did finish it.
