When Virginia Heath was a little girl it took her ages to fall asleep, so she made up stories in her head to help pass the time while she was staring at the ceiling. As she got older, the stories became more complicated, sometimes taking weeks to get to the happy ending. Then one day, she decided to embrace the insomnia and start writing them down. Twenty books and two Romantic Novel of the Year Award nominations later, and it still takes her forever to fall asleep.

5☆ Prepare to be Seduced

A Warriner to Seduce Her is the forth book in the Warriner series and my favourite.
Although I feel this one can be read as a standalone I do think it helps to of read the previous books as there are a fair amount of Characters and stories that are tied up within this last book.

Now I'm not going to discuss the plot as I do not want to give anything away by accident.

But what I will discuss is how enchanting A Warriner to Seduce Her is.

Prepare to be seduced by Jacob and Felicity.

Yet again Virginia Heath never fails to deliver, she has written a compelling and utterly charming read.
The characters are memorable.
The main character a handsome rouge who stole my heart. He comes across as a complex and flawed character but I was seduced by him as I'm sure others will be too.

A Warriner to Seduce Her is a historical romance novel that makes you swoon.
It's an engrossing, Passionate and irresistible story, it truly is the perfect story for Jacob.

I'm just really saddened that this is the last instalment.
I have really enjoyed getting to know each of the brothers and their stories.

If you enjoy historical / Regency romances that have swoon worthy memorable characters, passion, Romance, Secrets, Drama. Then you will definitely want to pick up this book. You won't be disappointed!

Thank you to Rachel Random Resources for this copy which I reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

I've given this an A- at AAR, so that's 4.5 stars rounded up.

This final book in Virginia Heath’s thoroughly enjoyable series featuring the four Warriner brothers focuses on the youngest, Jacob – or Jake, as he is more commonly known.  We’ve met him in the previous books in the series, and unlike his siblings – Jack, the Earl of Markham and head of the family, Jamie, a former soldier and Joe, a doctor – he’s a bit of a wastrel and spends most of his time amid the hedonistic delights of London, where he’s acquired quite the reputation as a ladies’ man.

Ms. Heath has dropped the odd subtle hint that there’s more to Jake than meets the eye, and in A Warriner to Seduce Her, we find out exactly what that is.  While his brothers eye him with fond exasperation and despair of his ever marrying and settling down, the truth is that Jake was recruited by the British Government when he left Cambridge and has been working for them ever since.  A member of a small team known as the King’s Elite, Jake and his colleagues have been tasked with discovering the identity of the man behind a large-scale smuggling operation that is trying to destabilise the British economy by flooding the market with illegal goods and channelling funds to an organisation determined to return Napoléon from exile.  But in spite of their best efforts, the identity of the lynch-pin remains as elusive as ever.

The last few months have been exhausting and Jake is looking forward to heading home to Markham Manor for some well-earned leave.  He’s tired, he misses his family a great deal and longs for:

Three months of being himself, no hidden agendas, no danger, no responsibilities and no web of lies.

(Except the one.)

… and feels keenly the gulf that has opened between himself and his brothers in recent years because of the secrets he has to keep.  So he’s none too pleased when his boss tells him that his leave is cancelled because there’s a new lead in their search for the boss of the smuggling ring.  Suspicion has fallen upon Lord Crispin Rowley, whose fortunes have recently taken  a sudden and unexpected upturn – and Jake is tasked with the seduction of Rowley’s niece, a country miss fresh out of Sister Ursuline’s School for Wayward Girls in Cumbria who will surely be an easy target for his masculine charms.

The letter summoning twenty-five-year-old schoolmistress Felicity Blunt to London came completely out of the blue.  It seems that her uncle, Lord Crispin Rowley, had finally decided to fulfil the promise he made her dying mother to give Fliss a Season – but she isn’t interested.  She doesn’t want a Season and she doesn’t want a husband, but Sister Ursuline insists she should travel to London and have an adventure – which has, so far, proved to be a huge disappointment.  Rowley hasn’t taken Fliss anywhere she wants to go, insisting instead on dragging her to boring balls and parties, but being leered at and squinting at blurry figures (Rowley insists she leave off her spectacles) from the sidelines of a ballroom isn’t exactly the type of adventure she had in mind.

Jake is pleasantly surprised when he discovers that the lovely woman he’d been observing from his vantage point at the edge of the ballroom at Almack’s is none other than the woman he’s been instructed to seduce. He’d been expecting a dowdy, nunnish-type, not a lush beauty with honey-gold hair, a spectacular figure and a dry sense of humour, who is nowhere near as impressionable as he’d been led to believe. They converse amiably for a short while, until Jake, still tired and annoyed at the cancellation of his leave, makes a misstep and attempts to soften her up too quickly. Fliss’ warm, friendly manner evaporates and she makes it clear she’s seen through Jake’s practiced charm and hackneyed compliments and has no further interest in conversing with him.

Jake is – reluctantly – impressed. And intrigued. And just a bit ashamed. For the first time, he feels an element of distaste about the fact that he uses sex as a means to extract information – although he can’t allow himself to dwell on it as he still has a job to do. Fliss’ summary dismissal of him may have stirred the first genuine interest he’s felt in a woman in years, but he can’t lose sight of his mission; so over the next few days, he contrives to encounter her on several occasions in an attempt to wear down her resistance and to see what she can be induced to tell him about her uncle.

Fliss can’t deny that she’s been attracted to Jake since the first time they met, but she’s not interested in charming, sexy and gorgeous, she wants respectable and dependable. She is determined to steer clear of him, but somehow, he’s always there when she needs help, and keeps turning up at the social events her uncle insists she attend… and the more time she spends with Jake, the more Fliss can’t help liking him. She sees something – very occasionally – behind the suave, rakish façade that interests her, the possibility that there lies a man of more substance than he is willing to reveal to the world; he’s amusing, self-deprecating and genuinely charming, and she can’t help falling for him.

Jake is similarly smitten, finding Fliss’ lack of artifice totally refreshing and admiring her honesty – she’s “Blunt by name and blunt by nature” – even if it is a but brutal at times. He finds it harder and harder to reconcile his growing feelings for her with his instructions to use her in order to get close to her uncle, but Rowley is obviously up to his neck in something both nefarious and dangerous, and Jake has no choice but to continue with his deception.

One of the many things I’ve really enjoyed about all the books in the Wild Warriners series is the family dynamic the author has created between the brothers. They’ve not had it easy, courtesy of generations of scandalous, spendthrift relatives, and until recently, they’ve struggled to make ends meet – yet the love they bear towards each other is unstinting and permeates all their scenes together. In the book’s prologue, we learn of a long-buried and painful secret Jake has carried since childhood, which has set him apart from his brothers to an extent and has obviously shaped the man he has become. Ms. Heath doesn’t allow it to turn Jake into one of those ‘woe-is-me’ overly brooding types, but it has obviously informed many of his choices as an adult, and she very skilfully brings us full-circle towards the end of the novel as Fliss and Jake’s brothers finally help him to overcome it and put it to rest.

Boasting a strong plotline, two attractive central characters with scorching chemistry and a wonderful cast of secondary characters, A Warriner to Seduce Her is a superb end to an excellent series, and is the third (or fourth?) novel of Ms. Heath’s to grace my Keeper shelf. And there’s more good news; her next series, featuring Jake’s colleagues from the King’s Elite, is on the way – I can’t wait to meet The Mysterious Lord Millcroft in August.

2025 Review coming soon, even better than when I first read it!

------------------------------
2018 review

Firstly, I want to say that this review will be a lot shorter then I usually have written them for this series, because I really don’t want to give too much away. I want to say so much about this book! It has been a pure privilege getting to know the Warriner’s, and this is a perfect end to a wonderful series. I am very sad to see it finished, but Virginia Heath has finished in a good place.

Oh my! What an ending, it is beautiful and a bit tearful, I love how Heath has ended this she has tied up all those loose questions what I had about the brothers from the previous books, I wanted to know how they would come on in the future. It’s a satisfying end and so good to see all four brothers happy, there is a real beautiful moment where all four are together sharing a very special moment. It’s one of those ‘awww..’ moments, where you wipe away a happy tear. A bit like the feeling when your, at a wedding!

Jake Warriner or as those in society call him “Jake the Rake” is a scoundrel of the highest order, to all accounts he likes nothing better then lounging his days away while bed hopping his nights away. But he has a secret, one that if ever revealed could be an almighty scandal. He is all set to leave London and head home to the comforting busom of his family, when for reasons that will be revealed in the story he has to stay and seduce school mistress Felicity Blunt.

Ouh La La, Jake!!! I thought Jamie was a masculine tortured man, but Jake really is something else. He is a real stud! But, he has demons of his own that he must battle, as has been hinted in the previous books about their mother’s death, this one we find out everything and why Jake has issues.

Fliss isn’t about to be another of the scoundrel’s conquest’s – or so she tells herself! She is quite content in her life and after her stint in London she fully intends to settle into her role as schoolmistress. But, the seductive scoundrel is harder to ignore than she thought. She knows that her only chance is to harden her heart towards him, but she can’t get past the thought that there is so much more to this particular rake then meets the eye. Soon they find themselves thrown together and their mutual scorching, hot desire for each other, could be the very thing that will be their down fall.

Jake is a real shock, I have been looking forward to reading younger brother; rakish Jake’s story and Heath has not disappointed. He isn’t at all how I expected him to be, and his story is so different to the others, but I am really pleased it is as this young man is a very different breed of man and he needed a story as enterprising and intriguing as this. I was blown away by him, there has been hints of him through the other books, but this really shows us just what a complex, sexy and at times vulnerable man he is.

This is superb! It is so, so much more than your average Historical Romance. It is fresh, witty and intelligent. The crowing glory of this book is the plot, it is fast, thrilling and so unexpected. Smugglers, secret agents, scoundrelly rakes and fiery heroines, plus an amazing love story. What’s not to love? This, is one of those books that you know just needs to be made into a film.

This series has been a pure joy to read, getting to know each brother as they take you on a journey into their darkened and dazzling world. I have said it before that Jamie was my favourite and that is still true, I really felt attached to him and Cassie. But, Jake he is not far behind! Heath has really out done herself with these four brothers, she has proved again that she really is the go to woman for angsty, sexy as hell heroes.

This is just fabulous!

Naughtiness 2 *

Absolutely outstanding, just when I thought I'd read Virginias best book ever the next blows me away every time, I don't kniw how she does it but Virginias latest always becomes my next fave book by her lovely self.

I won't give spoilers but I will say, that every possible emotion I experienced while reading this amazing book from happy, giddy, heartbreak, fear, anger ( not at the author) this amazing, ING book has many twists and turns and Omg loved the epilogue. I most definitely wept more than once, laughed more than once and swore at a few evil people.

Brilliant and most beloved book by Virginia to date for me,

Thank you dear Lady Virginia for writing it and giving me the honour of reading it ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Warm-hearted, witty, suspenseful and absolutely delightful, historical romance readers are simply going to love the final stand-alone installment in Virginia Heath’s sensational series about the dashing Warriner brothers, A Warriner to Seduce Her.

As the youngest Warriner brother, Jake is used to being a disappointment. While his three eldest siblings are working hard to restore their family’s less than salubrious reputation in Nottinghamshire and making great strides in their careers and in their personal lives, Jake is a devil may care rogue who spends his days living it up in London entertaining many a willing damsel in his bedchamber – or so everyone else thinks! What nobody knows about the young Warriner brother is that he is working on a secret mission that could see him catch the mastermind behind a nefarious smuggling ring that has the authorities stumped. However, this latest job is not your typical run of the mill assignment for in order to catch a criminal Jake must seduce the niece of the main suspect, a young girl fresh out of the schoolroom about to be launched into society: Miss Felicity Blunt. But little does Jake realise that Felicity is not an innocent schoolgirl, but a woman who is about to turn his entire life upside down…

Having been abandoned by her father after the death of her beloved mother, Felicity had been sent to a school in Cumbria where she had graduated to becoming a teacher at the institution she has come to call home. Perfectly happy being a single schoolmistress with all the freedom she desires and no man to impose upon her, Felicity is shocked when the uncle who has ignored her all her life turns up, telling her that he wants to take her to London for her first season, a promise he had made her mother on her deathbed. Although leaving her home and her friends behind is the last thing Felicity wants, she decides to acquiesce and heads off to London where she realises that far from being a generous and kind-hearted relation, her uncle has got his own evil plan for her!

Felicity is determined to enjoy the Season and to have plenty of adventures to tell her friends back in Cumbria. But she hadn’t counted on being swept off her feet by a dashing rogue who soon begins to haunt her thoughts and dreams: the devilishly handsome Jake Warriner! The charismatic and attractive rake seems intent on flirting with her at every opportunity, and despite her resolve not to give into her attraction towards him, Felicity quickly begins to fall in love with Jake. But is the youngest Warriner brother all that he seems? Is he merely a shameless flirt? Or is there more to him than meets the eye?

When Jake had set out to seduce Felicity, love had been the last thing on his mind. But the more time he spends with her, the more he realises that he cannot imagine his life without her. However, with so much at stake and so many obstacles to overcome, does their relationship stand any hope of surviving? Especially when Felicity learns the truth about Jake?

It is impossible to put down a historical romance by Virginia Heath and this exceptional writer of Regency romantic comedies has done it again with a gripping, poignant, engaging and thoroughly enjoyable tale packed with mystery, danger, smuggling, emotion, drama and romance. A Warriner to Seduce Her is an outstanding historical romance that will keep readers on the edge of their seats as they are plunged into a world spiced with danger and desire and liberally sprinkled with charm, wit and humour.

Virginia Heath’s characters never fail to jump off the page and straight into the reader’s heart and Felicity and Jake are certainly no exception. Felicity is feisty, intelligent and smart and rakish Jake is a wonderful hero guaranteed to make readers swoon.

The talented Virginia Heath has outdone herself once again and although A Warriner to Seduce Her is the last book in the Wild Warriners series, I am positive that she has more delectable treats in store for us with her fabulous series, The King’s Elite, coming in the autumn! I cannot wait!

With drama and passion in spades, this is a book to remember. I loved the witty banter between the hero and heroine, the author's trademark dashes of humour and the powerful emotions that flowed through this book from start to finish. Jake is a hero in every sense and has met his match in wonderful, intelligent Fliss. It was so much fun to watch the sparks fly between them. I loved this book and would highly recommend it.
I won't tell you what happens or what the set up is as I would hate to give the game away, so I’ve just told you how I felt when I read the book. After all, that’s why we read, I think.

Not having read the previous books in the series, I think some of the "WOW" power was lost on me - Don't misunderstand, this was an excellent story and I loved Jake & Fliss, but I must have missed out on the build up to Jake's story by not reading the previous books (something I mean to correct as soon as possible).

Jake Warriner is the youngest of the Wild Warriners. He is a rake and loving every minute of it, much to the dismay of his older brothers. He has never met a woman that has captured his attention for more that a tumble and never one that would make him risk his heart. That is until he meets Felicity "Fliss" Blunt in a darken alcove.

Fliss is in London for the season, out of the blue her uncle contacted her and said that he promised her mother he would give her a season. Long past the age of the typical debutante, Fliss the spectacle wearing, blunt by name and nature, schoolmistress from Cumbria has no patience for the antics of the ton and even less for too-good-looking-for-their-own-good rakes. But a chance meeting in Almack's will change her life forever.

This is a well written book, that flows nicely and has a little bit of everything, great secondary characters, evil villains, lies, secrets, betrayal, danger, a no-nonsense heroine, an underestimated hero, an outstanding declaration scene, warm love scenes and a very sweet epilogue.

I haven't read the previous books, but I had no problem following the story and if anything, this book made me want to read the other brother's stories! I would happily recommend this book and look forward to future books by Ms. Heath.

Maybe 3.5 stars. Ghis was definitelybthe weakest of the four books in this series. For starters, I don't care for any books in which one MC begins the relationship deceiving the other unless that part is cleared up very quickly. That didn't happen here, and I began losing significant respect and sympathy for the H because of it. By the time he makes his amends, it wasn't enough in my opinion.

There are long passages of telling instead of showing and too much time spent inside the characters' heads. It becomes repetitive and boring, and I started skimming a lot of that part. Those sections should have been pared down and more time spent with the H and h together, or advancing the suspense plot. The pacing was significantly uneven because of those long sections. Also, it meant that too little time was spent showing the two growing closer after the deception was revealed and the (minor) grovel.

The book does fit into the rest of the series pretty well, and we get to catch up on the whole Warriner family. If you haven't read any of the other books, I would recommend them. I also think this book would be easier to follow, especially after the rest of the family enters the picture, if you read the others first. Pieces of the H's character sketch are somewhat dependent on knowing his brothers and their early history.

~4.5 STARS~

What a great ending to the series!

I have come to know all the other Warriner brothers intimately. Now, it was my turn to know Jake. I have to tell you he may be my favorite. My heart broke into pieces for him in the prologue. Once you read it, you will understand why. He becomes a man who doesn’t like dealing with human emotions. He isn’t a man who gives his heart away to anyone with the exception of his brothers and their families. He can’t risk it. He has to protect himself at all costs until Fliss enters his life. She will make him face his past and quite possibly heal his broken heart if he will let her.

As with all the other books, this one is told from different POVs which I love as it gives added insight into the characters, especially Fliss. She is a schoolmistress yet underneath that exterior is a fiery, passionate woman that gets under Jake’s skin. She has him rattled when she doesn’t fall for his charm. What he doesn’t know is she is very attracted to him. However, she has no intention of letting him know that. I don’t want to go into too much about their relationship as there is intrigue and adventure involved. No need to spoil that. Just know, that Fliss will eventually see past his flirty, rakish nature. She will see and appreciate the bond he shares with his brothers, the love he has for his nieces and nephews, how he really listens to others, and his love and protectiveness of her.

The romance is both sweet and sexy, especially when these two act on their attraction. It is also a story of intrigue and spies. Most importantly, it is a book about the love of family!

Perhaps Heath will give her fans books about the next generation of Warriners. Now, that would be quite entertaining. That much is evident in the last few paragraphs of the book!!!!

A nice read. I liked Jake & Fliss.

It was nice to see Fliss being able to see through Jake’s seductive ways and was able to resist his charms. She eventually saw the real him and fell for that.

As for Jake, it warmed my heart to find someone he could truly love, despite what happened to his parents weighing heavily on him.

There was a bit of action/mystery which wasn’t overly done nor did it take up majority of the book, thankfully.

As much as I enjoyed the book, I couldn’t give it a higher rating mainly because I didn’t love love the hero and heroine, and I felt their bonding / bantering could be improved.

The epilogue provided a good closure for all the 4 brothers, their wives and their growing families.

I have really enjoyed this series and being a fan of historical fiction, the books have been a real treat for me and I will be sad to see the series come to an end.

This was a great addition to the series and I loved the story. It was really well written and I loved the storyline and the characters – Jacob and Felicity were great and I thoroughly enjoyed every page, I’d like to think if I was around in the period I’d get my very own Warriner…

A joy for me to read – 5 stars!!

Was quite disappointed with this installment in the series. The plot and characters had high potential, but my enjoyment was watered down by the writing - which was really bogged down by a lot of "tell" versus show, and very long monologues (where it could have been a dialogue). I appreciate how characters from the previous books keep popping up (that's the charm in this sort of series after all), but to have them crowd the space of a few pages is a bit overmuch, and all the boy and girl children between the brothers is a bit too twee for me.

So I think the first two in the series are my favorite. In those books there was more space to fully develop the characters of the Warriner protagonists and their heroines, and the scenes and plots seemed fresh and not already used or contrived (as it seemed here - I knew literally how and where this would end, mid-way).

My Review - A Warriner to Seduce Her (The Wild Warriners #4)
by Virginia Heath (Goodreads Author)

This is part 4 of a saga by Virginia Heath. I started at the wrong end, so I did get a bit confused. This is of course my fault for not going back and reading 1, 2 and 3! Despite that, I liked Ms. Blunt though - absolutely!

The Good
Strong women, even younger women who are supposed to be 'greener than grass' can have their own opinions. This book champions that.

The Bad
I didn't like the prologue. The mother's eyes and those kinds of things made me hate Jacob. He feels sorry for his mother's death and guilty and at the start of the book, I blamed him too. I nearly stopped reading as when he was asked to seduce a child (who wasn't that much of a child).... it got a bit too much! I need to fall in love with the protagonist pretty quickly, but then I love chicklit style books, and this was a change (apart from Ms. Blunt, who could have been a character in a lot of good books).
Sorry for going on a bit here!!

The Ugly
I am glad that I finished this book. There are a lot of sub-plots and twists and because it is not my usual type of reading - I had to re-read a few things. That doesn't mean I didn't enjoy it - I did enjoy parts of it, very much!

What does this mean?
Well, I might not have liked the start - but I enjoyed the end!
4 Stars - I read this as part of a blog tour.

The party's over, it's time to call it a day"
Betty Comden and Adolph Green

And now on to the fourth book in the Wild Warriner series, and my favorite of the group. A Warriner to Seduce Her is Jake’s story. And, in this story we are introduced to the Elmer Fudd spies from the Kings Elite series – although they seem to be smarter in this book then in their own series.

Jake, of all the brothers, seems to be a little separate from the group. He appears to be a loose screw, a lady’s man, but sometimes appearances can be deceptive.

There’s a bad group of people working against England. The King’s Elite think they know one of the members of this group, Lord Crispin Rowley. They need to infiltrate this group – somehow. Rowley has a niece who just might fit the bill. What is needed is a master seducer who can work his wiles on her and get the information needed. They call in Jake, even though his Mr. Toad should have fallen off a long time ago, he is still the man for the job. He has never set eyes on Felicity Blunt, but he doesn’t think there should be a problem, no woman can resist him. She’s a country bumpkin fresh out of a convent, how hard could it be to seduce info out of her. At least that’s what he thinks. As I said before, he’s never met Felicity Blunt.

Felicity Blunt was a treat! What a great heroine. Yes, she may be an innocent spinster, she may be from the country, fresh from the convent. She may even wear glasses. But Felicity is no dumb cookie. She’s wise to the ways of rakes, having worked in a convent which takes in unwed mothers. She’s seen the results of male seduction close up.

The scene when they first met was very humorous. Jake observes a woman sneaking across the room, turtle-like. He watches her, intrigued. Felicity is trying to avoid the suitor her uncle has chosen for her. She is without her glasses, so things are a bit of a blur. Anyway, she ends up in an alcove with Jake. They talk, and he soon realizes that she is the woman he has been ordered to seduce. He starts with his very practiced seduction. But instead of falling for his charms she tells him to knock it off, that she’s not in the mood for any rakes. Now, she really intrigues him. He soon forgets that he has been ordered to seduce her.

Jake and Felicity begin a friendship which quickly turns into something else. As with all the books in the series when dealing with secrets, Felicity confides her fear of her uncle to Jake. The tension builds for us the readers and for Jake. As Jake falls more and more in love with Felicity, he knows he must tell her about his assignment, but he is afraid of losing her. We the readers also know he should tell her, because of the eventual pain. I actually could not sleep until this part of the book was over. I must admit I was hoping he would go against the Romanceland hero standard and speak up. But, of course he delayed too long. There was a nice grovel scene.

I loved this story, I loved the plot line, the secrets that both the main character had. Ms. Heath does not stretch out the problems too long and everything comes to a lovely end. We see Jake’s family dynamics again; we watch as Jake finally shows the world his true self.

Overall I was enchanted with the entire Wild Warriner series, this one is my favorite followed by Jamie’s story, then Jack, and lastly Joe. This is a series that historical romance readers should read.

As reviewed at Roses Are Blue: https://wp.me/p3QRh4-Ll

Schoolmistress Felicity Blunt is in London visiting her Uncle Crispin, who has taken a sudden interest in her after ignoring her existence for the past fifteen years. While Felicity had hoped to form a family connection, her uncle only intends to use the lovely lady to charm and entice his potential business associates. Felicity is disgruntled with the situation, and can't wait to get back to her familiar life in Cumbria. As she's avoiding an over zealous suitor, she encounters Jacob "Jake" Warriner, a man with a distinctly rakish reputation. Felicity has no interest in casual flirtation, and is quick to let Jake know this, yet, she has to admit that he is charming, and, oh, so handsome.

Jake Warriner is tired, and longing to go home. He's not the idler everyone believes him to be, and his much anticipated vacation has been cancelled, due to a pressing situation that potentially involves Felicity's uncle. Jake intends to use his charm and seductive wiles on Felicity in order to discover what she knows of her uncle's business and colleagues. Instead, Jake finds himself being charmed by the forthright and resistant school teacher. With every meeting, Jake finds himself feeling genuine emotion and longing for the first time in his life.

As Felicity begins to know Jake a little better with their every meeting, she sees glimpses of the real man beneath the facade, and starts to care for him. Then she learns of his original purpose in seeking her out, and feels betrayed and a fool. Though she never wants to see him again, Felicity is forced to seek Jake's help, as the situation with her uncle takes a deadly turn. Jake takes Felicity to his family home in order to protect her, and is determined to do whatever it takes to keep her safe and to win her heart.

Felicity is the kind of heroine I adore. She's strong, knows her own mind, and is forthright and honest. She won't accept shoddy treatment, is very cautious, yet still believes in love. Jake is truly a tortured mess. Viewing his parents' dysfunctional marriage, as well as a traumatic childhood event, caused Jake to protect his heart from love. Meaningless encounters and shallow affairs were all he allowed himself. In A WARRINER TO SEDUCE HER, Jake finally opens his heart to love, and is determined to do whatever it takes to win back Felicity's trust, and then her love.

There are some amusing moments involving Felicity's chaperoning aunts, who (not so) secretly like to tipple every chance they get. The comments about the would-be suitor who smelled like feet were also smileworthy. The scene where Jake pours his heart out to Felicity is emotional and touching, and their final coming together in love is sweet and sexy. A WARRINER TO SEDUCE HER ends with a fabulous look ten years into the future, showing all the brothers, their wives, and their children. It's a stellar conclusion to the fabulous WILD WARRINERS series, which I highly recommend. Author Virginia Heath casually mentioned the possibility of a series of books involving the next generation of Warriners, and I can only say, yes, please!

Felicity “Fliss” Blunt was content being a schoolmistress at Sister Ursuline’s School for Wayward Girls in Cumbria, when out of the blue her uncle, Lord Crispin Rowley, decides she has to be in London for the Season. Fliss is not impressed with the Ton, sees no need for a husband at the present time, and if ever she marries it will be for love, and with someone sensible, dependable, and certainly not one of those foppish aristocrats. And certainly not the peer her uncle has in mind: an ancient, smelly, and terminally dull fellow. Fliss’ chaperons don’t provide much help either: Rowley’s great-aunts Cressida and Daphne Sawyer keep a closer eye on the punch bowl than on their charge. It is at Almack’s, trying to find her way back to the ballroom – as she is forbidden to wear her spectacles, of course, the unsightly things! – that she encounters Jake Warriner. Jake, whose legendary charm and dreamy blue eyes leave the level-headed Fliss cold, especially when he tries to impress her with his tired, flowery, practiced lines; she tells him off. And this is foreign territory for Jake, he is flustered, humbled, and entirely captivated by the beautiful Miss Blunt. If only things were different … If he only knew that Fliss is equally confused by her attraction to the dashing rake.

Oh dear, what have I not already said about The Wild Warriners and the amazing Virginia Heath! Jake’s story is the fourth and alas last in this extraordinary series, and A WARRINER TO SEDUCE HER is just as brilliant as the three other books. The enigmatic Jake, who had been mostly relegated to the background before, is a deliciously charmer indeed! I am not giving any spoilers, but Jake the Rake’s occupation is what I had suspected. Ms. Heath’s writing sparkles, her descriptions shine brightly, especially in the case of the astonishingly entertaining Sawyer sisters, whose images are firmly imprinted in my mind forever. I thought it very clever how the author smoothly inserts some pertinent historical details into a conversation, which enables her to move the plot forward. Ms. Heath’s thorough research on smuggling, aided by her precise descriptions, all contribute to the realism of the story. Fliss is far from the retiring schoolmarm: she is rather cynical, has a poor opinion of men in general, and is far from gullible. I adored her immediately, Jake as well, but then again Virginia Heath always creates exceptionally appealing characters. And let’s not forget the scintillating dialogues; Jake has some of the best lines ever given to a male character. A WARRINER TO SEDUCE HER is exciting, filled with emotion, danger and romance that will take your breath away.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

What begins as just another mission, turns into something OH SO MUCH more as we dive into the final installment in the Wild Warriners quartet.

This time around we are getting to know the youngest of the Warriner brothers, Jacob aka Jake aka Philanderer aka Rake aka Jake the Snake...shall I continue? Perhaps not, in that vein at least, but a few of the names thrown his way do a fair bit of telling about his character...or at least the one he projects. Thing is, there's a reason behind his lack of interest in finding another half., why he seeks passing fun and not something that involves all the messy emotions of the heart. Thing is...sometimes what we aren't looking for smacks us upside the head when we weren't watching and is more often than not, exactly what we didn't realize we needed. In Jake's case, her name is Fliss.

She is the one...that starts out as another mark and turns into something with greater potential. Fliss is without a doubt unlike any of the girls/women Jake has "handled" yet, so much so that she gets under his skin from the very start not with simply her looks or manners, but her whit, forthrightness, and unapologizing view on life (when she can see, that is...what is with Crowley's problem with her spectacles!). She's the only one that's seen through his facade to the man beneath and if he isn't careful, she may blow a cover he never intended to have revealed.

I adored this one at least as much as the last, from start to finish and everything in-between. There were multiple passages I simply had to stop and share where our dear Fliss got the better of her "companions". I found myself with a goofy grin as I saw Jake falling into something he didn't even recognize himself. I laughed outright at the indignation Fliss displayed at having her wardrobe replaced, her day directed, and her person displaced whenever business came calling...you'd understand if you read it. I was totally and completely swept up in the magic of it all and couldn't be happier with the outcome...including a flash forward surprise of the whole gang!

All in all, a grand adventure and another enticingly brilliant installment in the Wild Warriners series. A must read for Historical Fiction fans, or even those simply looking for a romance that has more to the story line than a pillowed destination.

[I received an eCopy, ARC, from the author in exchange for an honest review.]
This was the forth and last book in Virginia Heath's The Wild Warriners Series and I'm so sad (and happy about the ending) that it's over. This book is about the younger Warriner brother Jacob 'Jake' Warriner and... My goodness! I don't know which brother I love more now.

Jake Warriner has a secret, one that I won’t reveal, so if you want to know, just read the book. Anyway, he was set to take a leave from work to be with his family, but for reasons that you will find out if you read the story, he must stay and seduce Felicity ‘Fliss’ Blunt, a school mistress and a very blunt and honest person.

I knew Jake was going to be an interesting character to read about. Although I was incredibly curious about Jamie, I knew that Jake’s story would be one that would make my heartbreak, because not only did I know that he had secrets, I knew there was his childhood that would just touch my heart. And now, with his fame as Jake the Rake… always seducing women… Well, I just know it would be a fun, interesting, with just enough action and mystery to make get me at the edge of my seat, and with romance to warm my heart.

Once Fliss appeared in his life, someone with an unexpected personality, I knew I was right and this would be an amazing book. She doesn’t want to be another of Jake’s conquest’s and she’s quite content in her life and she just wants to settle into her role as schoolmistress and forget London.

But, Jake is a Warriner, and for those that have read this series, we all know that the Warriners can be quite charming, intriguing, loving, caring, handsome, intelligent and stubborn men. So, of course, he just keeps talking to her, flirting and getting to know her.

Although I am very sad to see this series finished, I do believe Virginia Heath finish it in an excellent way. I love how the loose questions were answered and tied up, and it left us with a satisfying end, with all four brothers happy.

Now I just wish I could know more about future generations, because... damn! Who doesn’t love the Warriner family?

So, of course I have to say that I do recommend Virginia's book. She's a great author and I love all the books I read of hers.

Okay, I think this was the weakest of the stories by far and it has a lot to do with the ending. I really liked the reveal of what Jake has really been up to in London all along and I thought that was pretty interesting and unusual, especially because I initially thought Jamie's book was going to deal with espionage. I quite enjoyed his rapport with Fliss and found her refreshing, blunt personality great (although it might have helped if her name wasn't also Blunt, ha).

I liked that Felicity found out the truth by midway through the book because I thought it would mean that they could now really delve into a relationship on equal footing but instead they barely speak up until they get to Markham Manor and then after Jake pours out his heart about his understandable guilt surrounding his mother's death and his parents' screwed up marriage (through a closed door!!!), they immediately have sex and don't even talk about what he told her! Given the prologue, Jake seemed like he really needed to talk through what had happened at the time of his mother's death and I was really disappointed that unlike in the previous books, there wasn't one denouement scene at the end where the couple properly address their personal issues. It made the story feel unfinished to me. I was quite happy with the ending taking place in Markham Manor and Fliss getting to meet the family but I wish there had been more of that and more of her seeing Jake in this setting where he could truly be himself and be carefree and relaxed. This just felt kind of rushed and unsatisfying. The components were there but it could have been a lot better.

The millions of kids just seemed a little silly too, although I suppose it's realistic given how much sex it's implied they all have.

The title might suggest a bodice-ripper awaits us, and while our hero Jake Warriner is a self-confessed rake this book is far more sophisticated that its name might imply.
For reasons you’ll have to discover for yourselves in the book, Jake is intent on seducing a certain young lady, namely the niece of an influential nobleman, Sir Crispin Rowley. This niece, Felicity ‘Fliss’ Blunt, at her uncle’s invitation is having her season in London. But she’d really rather not. This down-to-earth northern lass does not want to be spend time trussed up in corsets and ridiculous dresses and being flirted with. And she may be short sighted but she quickly sees through Jakes attempts to win her heart.
Or she thinks she does, and she’s very unimpressed with her handsome would-be suitor. She doesn’t realise that he has genuinely fallen for her. Things are about to get very complicated.
The story proceeds from here with lots of exciting action, witty exchanges. There’s emotion, demons to face, thrills, romance and a clever plot. There is a fine cast of fascinating characters, all rounded and intriguing.
This is a very enjoyable read. It’s the fourth book in the Warriner series but works well as a standalone, and if you haven’t read the preceding books then you will certainly want to after reading this one.
I received a free copy of the book and have voluntarily written this honest review.

A Warriner to Seduce Her is the fourth and final book in The Wild Warriners series and is based on Jacob (Jake) Warriner the youngest of the four brothers. Although I'm sad to see this series end, I couldn't be happier with the way author Virginia Heath concluded this fabulous series and gave us a glimpse of the next heroes in her new series, The King's Elite!

Jake has been known throughout the previous books as a rake of the first order and has caused much concern for his older brothers. Well didn't Jake surprise us all! Jake's got some secrets and I must say getting to know the real Jake was an eye opener! So much more to Jake than I ever imagined.

Fliss was an absolute delight and I liked her from the very beginning! Felicity (Fliss) Blunt is a schoolmistress who has been brought to London by her negligent Uncle supposedly to give her a season. She's not some young shy debutante and sees through Jake's charms immediately. She has no plans to fall for his rakish charms.... but he's quite impossible to resist....

With spys, smugglers and the entire Warriner family making an appearance this was a perfect ending to a fabulous series. I loved this series so much that I honestly can't choose a favorite brother. I've loved each and every one of their stories and would have no problem revisiting this family in the future.... please! Highly recommend!

The last of the four Warriner brothers finally gets his HEA! Jake is the youngest of the brothers and as a child he hated his parents’ arguments. His mother was unstable and often threatens to kill herself. When she was drowning, Jake was there trying to help her, but the river was flowing to fast. He blames himself for her death.

Lord Crispin Rowley is a smuggler that Jake and some friends are trying to stop. Rowley has a grown niece, Felicity Blunt, who is visiting London for the first time. Her uncle insists she have a season, but she plans to go back to the school in Cumbria after she sees the London sights. Jake gets close to her to find out what she knows about her uncle, but he is also attracted to her.

This book has several plots going on at the same time and I will not spoil them. Twists and turns all through the book. And yes, when he needs help, you will revisit his brothers and their families. This is a book that is very hard to put down.

My favorite line was “a woman alone needs to be self-sufficient, resilient and resourceful.” I can easily recommend this book. It can be read on its own, but I hope you read the entire series. Virginia Heath has become an automatic buy for me.

"A Warriner to seduce her" is the forth and least book of the Warriner brothers collection, but you can read it separately from the others. I simply fell in love with Virginia's way of writing in those books. It was my first experience with her work but it won't definitely be the last.
In this specific book, Jake Warriner is supposed to seduce the enemy's niece, but he didn't count with Fliss being as amazing and intelligent. Of all the Warriner girls, Fliss was the one that I loved the most. She is very smart, takes care of herself and I simply fell in love with her honesty. Sometimes she can be a little too hard, but I like that about her. She is strong in a mindful way.
As for Jake, he is the perfect rake, but falls completly over the hills for her as soon as they first meet. He can be a bit of a fool, but he is in love, guys, give him a break. Jokes apart, I really enjoyed this book and the series. Definitely recommend it if you are looking for a good historical romance to enjoy on a sunday afternoon.

4.5 stars. Jake, the charming rake, fourth brother of the Wild Warriners, finally gets his comeuppance. While Jack, Jamie, and Joe all settle into domestic bliss and parenthood, Jake, the youngest, is in London living the high life. Or is he? From the previous books we already have the idea that there may be more to Jake than it appears.

Enter sensible, spectacle-wearing schoolteacher, Fliss. She works in a convent with girls who lost their heads and virtue with bad results. Fliss is "street smart" and no-nonsense. After she is sent on an "adventure" to have a season in London with her estranged uncle she encounters the very charming Jake and attempts to resist his charms.

A Warriner to Seduce Her is both a very satisfying end to the Wild Warriners series and a nice introduction to Heath's next series, King's Elite. Jake and Fliss were a great couple and we got to look into the future to see how the whole Warriner clan turned out. Good stuff.

A Warriner to Seduce Her is a historical suspense written by Virginia Health, an author which I have read in the past, and really enjoyed her books, as her writing style and plots have never failed to pull me into the book. But I struggled a little with this book, and I think the reason is that I had read none of the other books in the series, which was a major mistake on my part.

Even though I struggled with the characters, I did really enjoy the verbal sparring between Jake and Fliss. But I found the book to be a little jumpy in parts; I really struggled with a scene where Jake is pouring his heart out to Fliss, and the next thing, they are heading to bed together, with the bare minimum of consoling, and that was just one part I struggled with. I think if I had read the series from the beginning, it would have been more familiar to me, and even though it's a good book, it doesn't inspire me to read the series now.

I give A Warriner to Seduce Her 3 stars

This book had everything that I love in a historical romance story! I loved every second of it. Although this was book 4 in the series it can be read as a standalone which I did however I definitely want to read about the other brothers in the series too! The author wrote a brilliant historical read, the characters were perfect, the setting was great and her descriptive language allowed me to visualise what I was reading.
I loved a good rake in a story and Jacob was one of the best! He was particularly sexy!! I really liked Felicity, she was typical of that era but with something underneath that was dying to come out! Fans of historical romance will not be disappointed with this story – I know I wasn’t and I can’t wait to read more from this author again!
