Hell hath no Fury like a Witch Bride Scorned.... Anthony Jordan is missing. Along with a magical map he's told no one about, including his partner and daughter, Eva, until it's too late and she's forced to call upon her enemies for help.
The Howard Witches get the call and rush to aid in the search—it is their duty after all.
But can Eva be trusted? Or is this another trap—another move in her secret game?
Or is there an even more threatening force at work on The Demon Isle?
I love how Melinda is coming out of her shell and her brothers aren't of the overbearing variety. I've reviewed other books in the series, so I'll keep it brief. I'm really enjoying this series. If you love supernatural, this is a good book, even if it can be a bit predictable at times. It's a good, light read.
Loved this book! I am so glad I stumbled upon this author! She is a fantastic storyteller.. I can't wait to see what happens with all the characters and see what drama the Jordans being to the Howards, and what to make of the Deane's return....
The Howard family is protecting Demon Isle from evil forces. Melinda has premonitions and she is in love with a family friend, William, who is also a vampire. She also is dating a Deane and their families have been feuding for years. Melinda's brother Charlie is a werewolf and has a love/hate relationship with Eva who also has secrets of her own. Melinda's brother Michael can read people's emotions. He has been in love with a family friend for years and didn't know how to let her know. The family rescues Lizzy from living in limbo as a ghast. Lots of supernatural stuff happening on the island, family drama, family feuds, hidden secrets to reveal, and romances.
I wasn't as in to this book as I was the last three. I find that it lacked the original pain and feistiness. William, however is making me angry and I hate the mixed signals he is sending to Melinda. She's sweet, innocent, and deserves every right to be happy. Riley makes her happy.
Charlie and Eva are aggravating as well. Those two are pathetically weak willed and they make no sense. Michael and Emily are awesome. I absolutely love those 2.
Okay, so a little redeeming in this one, but not much. Things are starting to get bland. The effort to further the story is there, but I'm just not feeling it. And I realized things are being left unfinished, like why haven't they tried again to get to their mother's body or investigated the blood in the cave again before more leeches discover it? Whenever the amount of time passed is mentioned, I'm shocked; there's so much that it's hard to remember each book is usually a single day, maybe two or three. Cram much?
the demon isle witches strike again...though this time saving a ghast...a soul ripped out of a body enslaving the ghast to walk the isles trying to get back into her body once again....
tensions mount between the deanes and the witches but they have to work together to help the ghast and whilst doing so they learn more secrets abound...
and what of the wolves...are eva and charlie about to get it on
and poor william the vampire...mind you he has all i mean all the right moves if you get my drift....
OK, I was still enjoying this series as fun, mindless, entertainment. But really?!? Why does every supernatural series have to have a "rough vampire sex" section?!? I was actually liking this one a lot; the character of Lisbeth was a fun addition and I could see how her role would play out with the Deanes. And then it happened. Sheesh. Might've quit if I hadn't already bought the rest of the series on my Kindle.
I'm still so into this series with the Howard witches. I was a bit worried for Melinda but she is a strong one. Now the Deanes are too "Adorable" and I definitely want to see more of Lucas and Riley and Lizzy too, even though I didn't agree with the beach scene . I am absolutely hooked and I'm going on to book five now. I love the mellowness of the whole story and I love their crazy banter. Can't say it it enough, I'm hooked.
I love this series. But this book was just slightly dull. I love the Vampires and this mortal is in love with one?! But it was a great read. Get this if you have read the others in this series. Otherwise you will be lost for the next one.
I absolutely love this series and always find myself stuck to my reader until I finish every page. These books are so well written and enrapturing, its as if the writer has cast their own spell. I'm definitely a fan, and will continue to be.
Love s of action and adventure throughout this well written self-contained story. I'm really loving this series and find it hard to stop, always wanting to read the next in the series.
The Deane witches who were banished from Skull Isle, have returned in the form of brothers Lucas and Riley, who are the last of their family and do not practice the black magic their ancestors did. Riley has been intimate with Melinda Howard and neither knew. The long standing feud between the families has to be put on hold when the Ghast of Lisbeth Deane brings them together to allow her spirit to re-enter her body. She is not dead, but her spirit has been separated from her body for 200 years. A Howard witch cursed her and separated her from her body, but her own family trapped her and used her to guard secret doors that allowed them to get off the island and arrive directly to their home in Boston. Books must be read in order to truly enjoy and understand the series.
