My Kinda Mess is the fourth book in the sexy, hilarious, and emotional Summer Sisters series. Lacey does a wonderful job of making each book a standalone but I do recommend reading the previous books as well since they rock. They each follow a different sister in this protective, fun, and inappropriate family. I just love them all. The family as a whole is just the best. This is Lexi’s story, the youngest of six and a twin to one.
Lexi thought she had it all when she married her high school sweetheart. She married a man who was determined to make their lives perfect. She had her dream job as a hairdresser. She lived closed to her family. On the outside she had it all. Except that her marriage was falling apart. One secret ripped her dreams away from her and that was the last straw. She was out. It was time for her to make her dreams her own reality. It was time for her to find her happiness and she didn’t need a man to do it. Especially not a man like Linkin. A man who drove her crazy with his cockiness, sexy smirk, and mind-reading tendencies.
Linkin knew he was fucked the minute she told him she would cut off his balls if he didn’t shut his mouth. He had never been so turned on in his life. She looked the part of prim and proper woman but had the feistiness of a badass. He saw her. The real her that day and he never forgot it. And he wouldn’t since she was now his neighbor. Sharing a wall with her will be torture. He doesn’t know her whole story but he does know that he wants her. Bad. And she wants him too but won’t admit it. He is ok with that. He would usually just walk away but not this time. Not away from this woman. She was going to be a challenge but he knew it would be totally worth it.
Linkin and Lexi’s relationship is one full of surprises, sexiness, hilarity, and did I say sexiness? I ❤️ Linkin Stone!! He is a swoon-worthy badass that I would follow anywhere. Seriously, his smirk is panty-melting, his protectiveness is sexy, his job as a mechanic is delicious, and his body is lickable hot. He also has the whole sweet, and funny, with a twist of alpha down to a science. Add in the fact that he helps take care of his mom and twin brothers. It’s a recipe for panties to melt around the world. And then there is Lexi! She is beautiful inside and out. I have been waiting for her story. Watching her throughout the previous books was a perfect build-up. Her journey from the beginning to the end was amazing. She is a strong woman who knows what she wants in life and goes for it. I admire her. And admire her and Linkin’s love.
Overall...It was my favorite of the series. I laughed until I cried. I felt like I was right there with them. Felt like apart of this crazy inappropriate family. Seriously...Lexi’s grandparents are everything. I also got all kinds of hot and bothered. Did I mention Linkin drives a motorcycle? Yum. I didn’t only cry from laughter but I also cried happy tears.

Lexi Summer thought she had it all - the perfect job, house and husband. All that was missing was a baby. But one secret ruins her dreams and makes her realize that her life wasn’t what she pretended it was. She’s ready to make a big change, and it doesn’t include having a man in her life.
Linkin Stone hasn’t had an easy life, but he’s doing okay. He’s helping his single mom out as much as he can with her debts and his twin 8 year old step-brothers. He works multiple jobs and keeps to himself . . . that is until he runs into his sassy new neighbor.
Their friendship starts to grow, as does their off the charts chemistry. When Linkin realizes Lexi wants a baby more than anything, he offers to help with that, as well as be a part of the baby’s life. Can they both move forward from their pasts to find a future together even if it wasn’t what they were originally looking for?
This was book four in the series (each book focuses on a different sister’s romance) but was easily read as a standalone. That being said, I loved it so much, I can pretty much guarantee I will be backtracking for the rest of the books in this series.
Lexi and the rest of the Summer sisters are a sassy and feisty bunch. They know what they want and go after it. They love and support one another in all things - even if it’s going out and having a good time! Linkin is a sweetheart of a guy. He may look like a tatted up bad boy, but he works hard to care for those he loves and puts his own life on hold to help his mother and brothers. I truly love this couple together! Watching them learn to trust one another as their relationship grows was fun and heart warming.
This book was an amazing boost to my mood and attitude! It’s a fantastic love story in many ways. Sister love. Romantic love. Family love. This book displays it all from a new romance to a couple in their 80s that are still spicier than a lot of couples I know. With a dirty talking grandma that definitely enjoys “the sex” there were a lot of laugh out loud moments. It was also romantic and sweet, sexy and steamy and just a downright fun and enjoyable read! 5 Stars

I enjoyed this one a lot.
I liked the hero, yes he was a bit cocky and a bit forward with the heroine but I didn't bother me, i like it when the hero chases.. He sure was a walking hard on for the heroine but I choose to look past that. I like how he was protective of his mother, how he was helping her raised his twins brothers, his relationship with his brothers was cute. He may have looked like a bad boy but he was a good man.
I liked the heroine a lot, sure she had her moments but she was a good heroine.
Omg the grandmother and grandfather had me laughing so hard, they're hoots!! The things that came out of their mouth and grandpa with his viagra brownies.

Book 4 in the series and this one is about Firecracker Lexi and bad boy Linkin. Although I must say there was nothing bad about him – well maybe only his mouth. My heart was melting while i was reading how he helped his mom with the problems, taking care with his twin brothers (such funny little boys) and how he loved Lexi.

What can I say about this book, Lacey kills it once again with this series, based on 6 sisters, each one pulling you in more than the other did!
In this one we find out what's truly going on with the youngest Summer sister, twin Lexi, who's had enough of her husband working non stop, spending less and less time with her. She finally leaves him when she discovers his secret, crushing what was left of her heart. She moves into her twin Abby's apartment since she basically is living with Levi now, and tries for a fresh start. When she once again meets the neighbor Linkin, who has captured her eye, but she feels it's too soon.
Linkin has had a thing for Lexi since she yelled at him months ago, but is he worthy of her? He can't help the attraction he feels for her, throw in his 8 year old twin brothers, one just like him who makes him declare his claim on her before the one brother Jack does!
Between Linkin's twin brothers, and Lexi's family, not to mention the famous Grandparents, who in my opinion are the best characters ever, get involved, will they continue to fight their attraction, or will they give in?
This book was amazing, as is the whole series, if you haven't read one in it yet, you can choose any and start, once you do you are going to be hooked!!

While My Kinda Mess can easily be read as a standalone, I recommend to read the books in order. The other books are My Kinda Kisses; My Kinda Night; My Kinda Song.

Lexi is the youngest of the six Summer sisters and twin to Abby. They´re "hellion on heels". She loves her big crazy family deeply and her greatest wish is to become a mother herself.
Linkin Stone works hard to make meets end. He´s had a rough life, is a mechanic and works two jobs to help his mother and young brothers. He wants nothing more than solitude. That changes when he meets Lexi. He wants her, bad. Then he has the brilliant idea to volunteer as her baby daddy with benefits.
My Kinda Mess is a captivating story, extremely well written with the right amount of drama and twists and turns.
A beautiful contemporary romance novel, a 5 star read.

Lexi and Linkin are neighbors who proposition each other and never thought they would form a true relationship. Lexi is still married, working on a divorce and following her dreams. Linkin in focused on repairing damage done from an stepfather, helping his mother with his twin brothers, and making Lexi his. Both are very fun loving, hard working people who enjoy life. The crazy, loud, loving family is present and really welcomes the readers back in to the fold of the Summer family.
Ms. Black has always made her couples very passionate; Lexi and Linkin are no exception. The couple seems to bounce back around with their feelings and maturity level, which made it hard for me to connect to with either character. Some times the couple felt as if they were ready to tackle lifes issues and face the world head on, other times they acted as if they were high school freshman. Their dialogue seemed a bit off at times. I enjoyed watching Linkin care for his brothers and how protective he was of his mother. My Kinda Mess’ plot line did heavily weigh on family, the loud, loving, and crazy families. The family is what kept me reading. I have read numerous novels from Ms. Black and will give the next novel a read; hopefully it will pull me back into their world. I would recommend Ms. Blacks’ work, however just not this novel.

First FIVE STAR read of 2018!!!
Lacey Black is a NEW TO ME Author and I must admit before I even finished this book I added the other books in the series to my TBR shelf.
Fantastic characters that had me laughing out loud so much I was getting looks from the people around me. Seriously Lexi's grandparents are the best and once I told my DH a bit about the book he pointed out to me that her grandparents are a LOT like an aunt and uncle of mine and that only made me laugh harder because it is so true.

5 SMOOCHES!
I’ve been a fan of Lacey Black’s since the release of her first book, Trust Me. I absolutely love the unique way she vividly captures life and love in a small town. Small town romances, especially revolving around a big family, are a favorite of mine. I love to get lost in a series of stories about a small-town, big families, and it is Lacey Black who always comes to my mind first when that’s what I’m in the mood to read.
My Kinda Mess is the fourth book in her Summer Sisters series. Set in the beach town of Jupiter Bay, the series is based on the six Summer sisters as they find love in their quaint town. This is Lexi, one of the twin youngest Summer sisters, and Linkin’s story. Lexi was in the midst of a divorce from her high school sweetheart when she met Linkin. Lexi, a hairstylist, and her ex-husband, Chris, had been growing apart for years, but it was a deception that dashed Lexi’s dream perpetrated by Chris that put the final nail in the coffin of that relationship. The chemistry between Lexi and Linkin sizzled from the start, but with her fresh out of a long-time relationship and vowing to steer clear of bad boys, Lexi is a bit hesitant to give in to this attraction. It isn’t until she takes the time to really get to know Linkin that she discovers the great guy hiding behind the cocky smirk. This book was really cute and I loved both the h and H. I really wanted to rate it 5 stars, but unfortunately the epilogues were very unsatisfying to me.
I was so excited when I saw there were two epilogues and when I finally got there I was so disappointed. As I’ve said SO MANY times before, I hate epilogues that aren’t even about the h and H, which was the case here. Neither epilogues were focused on the h and H and the second one didn’t even have them in it at all, so I’m not sure why it was considered “Another Epilogue”. It was a sneak peek at the next book, which Is something I HATE. I was hoping for them to have the babies and see a little interaction, but nope it was only like a week out and they aren’t even engaged in it.
Other than the disappointing “epilogues” I really liked this book and would recommend!!

Neither epilogues were focused on the h and H and the second one didn’t even have them in it at all, so I’m not sure why it was considered “Another Epilogue”. It was a sneak peek at the next book, which Is something I HATE. I was hoping for them to have the babies and see a little interaction, but nope it was only like a week out and they aren’t even engaged in it.
Other than the disappointing “epilogues” I really liked this book and would recommend!!

Throughout the previous books we have learned that the heroine's marriage is disintegrating and her husband is always away. And her family does not have much sympathy for him.
Our heroine wants a baby but can not get pregnant and her husband refuses to take tests and claims that they have time and that they need to wait longer.
She is very unhappy and ends up discovering something that puts an end to their marriage.
I liked her family and they are hilarious, but when needed they come together and support each other.
Our hero is wonderful and I loved his brothers.
I really enjoyed the story and recommend it.

I really enjoyed my Kinda mess by Lacy Black it would be the first book I've read by her and I'll be going back to read the first three books in the series , this can be read as a standalone I wasn't confused at all but I want to read about the couples mentioned and to see how they fell in love plus so want to see more of the Gammas crazy antics . The blurb is what drew me in while the cover sold me even more , with characters that are so likable , storyline with no drama , perfect amount of heat , told in dual point of view , and had me craving more with the little tease at the end . I connected to Lexi she's amazing , sassy , funny , and has a beautiful relationship with her family . Linkin stole my heart when he's introduced adored the way he is with his brothers and mom ( fits in perfect with the heroines family) , swoon worthy , protective , alpha , and leaves panties evaporating . Lexi and Linkin are written so well together with intense moments , funny banter , and electric chemistry that leads to some steamy sexy times . I really can't wait to read more about all of characters you can just feel how much they all care for one another . My kinda mess wont be the last Lacy Black story that found it's way in my kindle there will be more .

So by this point, I am sure that everyone knows that I am a HUGE Lacey Black fan. I mean technically, I am more of her number one stalker these days because I mean let's face it, not many authors can write about completely inappropriate grandparents all the while building a love story between the world's hottest swoon-worthy men, and the most kind hearted beautiful women ever, and when I say ever, I mean in the history of ever-dom. She tackles issues that most authors are afraid to even come close to, and does so, with so much emotion and hilarity that it leaves you wanting more. Like so much more, that it leaves you with the BIGGEST book hangovers and unable to find another book that keeps your attention, just like with My Kinda Mess. I am officially in- love with all the sisters from the sister series including their men, and especially Linkin from My Kinda Mess. Gosh, I just wanna wrap him in my arms and never let go. So Congrats again Lacey for writing another best seller.

My Kinda Mess is Lacey Black's newest book in the Summer Sister series. I'm a huge fan of Lacey's work. Her heroes and leading ladies in particular. She writes realistic characters who you want to be your friends. Or more than friends! My name is Kara and I'm a book whore. I'm in love with Linkin Stone. Yes, I know I said I loved Dean and Luke but that was just puppy love. My love for Linkin is grown up love. Smoldering love. All-encompassing love. I'm not sure if it's his sexy smile, his delicious arms, his blue collar hands, the sexy way he talks or his enormous…heart. He's the complete package. We briefly met him in My Kinda Song and I knew he was going to be something special. Lexi is now living in Abby's apartment and Linkin is her neighbor. How convenient! I’ve yet to read a title by Lacey Black that I haven’t thoroughly enjoyed. My Kinda Mess, is the fourth title in the Summer Sisters series and features Lexi and Linkin. A sweet, fun, steamy, heat filled read that is full of emotion, and humour. A friends to lovers romance, with twists and turns aplenty. The chemistry between Lexi and Linkin, is palpable, passionate, steamy and intense.
I was intrigued by Lexi’s character in the previous titles and couldn’t wait to read her story after her twin sister Abbi found her happy ever after My Kinda Song.
My Kinda Mess is a captivating, and entertaining read with characters that are completely endearing. Lexi is strong, feisty and independent, and stubborn, she knows just what she wants, being love and family. Lexi’s deepest desire is to become a mother, and she’s not afraid to go after her dreams. Linkin is an enigmatic character, a sexy, tattooed, motorcycle riding bad-ass, who is complete sweetheart and oh so swoon worthy, working two jobs in order to reduce the burden on his mother. He happily cares for his rambunctious and precocious younger twin brothers just to give his single mother a break.
The banter is what keeps me coming back for more of this series, each title is full of fun, flirty, witty commentary and the innuendo and inappropriate antics and suggestions, leave you laughing out loud.
I will be eagerly awaiting the next title in the Summer Sisters series, and cannot wait to see the remaining sisters find their happy ever after.

I love this series, from the first book, till the latest one.
Lexi thought she was blessed with her life. A husband she loved, a life she had always wanted and a family that is always there whenever she needed it. But she was missing one thing. The one thing she has always wanted, a Baby. She and Chris have been trying for a while now but it just doesn't seem like its working. And things have not been good with them for a while now. He is always working, never there when she needs him and doesn't attend any family gatherings with her. Until she discovers his secret. A secret that led her to immediately leave him and move into her sister's flat. Where she meets Linkin Stone. He looks like the definition of a bad boy, but looks can be deceiving. As she gets to know him, she discovers someone caring, loving, protector and hot damn sexy as hell. And the chemistry between them is off the charts, and she can't wait to have 'the sex' with him.
Linkin Stone is doing everything to keep his family together. His mother and brothers and himself have just moved to Town a couple of months ago and he is working two jobs to pay off a debt that his step-father has saddled them with. So he doesn't actually have time to have a personal life. Until he meets Lexi, his firecracker. She is everything that he wants in a women, strong, sassy, sexy and will do anything for her family. So when she decides to have the one thing that she has always wanted, a baby and wants to get a sperm donor, why not volunteer. But Lexi gives him one week to prove that he can be a father to her baby, if she decides to give him a shot.
This book was so good, it was sweet, romantic, sexy, the chemistry was freaking off the charts between Linkin and Lexi. And man oh man have i said how much i love Grandma. She is freaking hilarious. I cannot wait to read more about the sisters and their lives. Definitely an awesome read.

I have read every single one of Lacey's books and she never disappoints. For some reason however she has really touched me with this book. I was lucky enough to receive an Arc of this book so here is my review and I promise. No spoilers.
I think Lexi is one of the most relatable characters that Lacey has ever written about. I think in high school we all believe that the person we are dating is the person that we are going to marry. I think that we all get caught up in a guy who we believe will never hurt us but ends up completely destroying us. We all fall for the wrong guy at one point in our lives but unlike Lexi not all of us are strong enough to get out. But I think that Lacey was able to show that it wasn't easy for Lexi and just like it isn't easy in real life. And I love Lexi's story because it also shows us that sometimes the guy is right around the corner and it gives us hope that there are good guys out in the world.
We start the book off by showing us Lexi is in a negative place but it shows her really strong because she was able to get out of a negative relationship. We also see Linkin our night in shining armor has a big secret. As these two characters get to know each other we also start feeling for these characters.
In almost every romance novel that I read there is always this huge conflict because of some miscommunication. But what I love is the fact that when a conflict arises in the story these characters actually handled it like adults.
This story was real. This story makes you realize that life can get you down but that it can also bring amazing things in your life, and that is the amazing thing about reading stories. Is they inspire you.

OMG, this series, the Summer Sisters, is soooooo good, I can't even TELL you how AWESOME ALL the books have been!!! THIS book, My Kinda Mess, is MY personal fave to date! While I loved the chemistry between Lexie and Linkin, Black still didn’t meet all my romance marks. Something about this novel didn’t quite reach me. This is book 4 in the Summer Sisters series. All of the books tie in together, immersing you in a world where family is the most important thing and support is given without question. While the book can be read as a standalone, there are characters and events that refer back to previous stories. Awesome all on its own, its much better read as a series.
OMG! Linkin is just....Swoon! A bad boy with a soft heart, every girl's secret wish! I just can't get over how sweet he is with his mom and brothers! A hard worker, doing more than his fair share to help his mom out. I can't think of another way to say it but....HOT!!!! And those brothers of his are a riot! I just could not stop laughing at their antics!
Lexi is a good girl, who craves a wild side. After a disappointing marriage and a hurtful breakup, she deserves some good in her life. She has dealt with so much to get to the point in her life that she is happy with herself.
There was more than a few times while reading this book that I just burst out into uncontrollable laughter (mostly from the actions and comments of the grandmother! She is just hilarious!) This was an incredibly entertaining read, as is the entire series, and definitely one I'd recommend if you are looking for something to brighten your day and put you in a better mood!
OMG! Linkin is just....Swoon! A bad boy with a soft heart, every girl's secret wish! I just can't get over how sweet he is with his mom and brothers! A hard worker, doing more than his fair share to help his mom out. I can't think of another way to say it but....HOT!!!! And those brothers of his are a riot! I just could not stop laughing at their antics!

This is the fourth book in the Summer Sisters series. I couldn't wait to get my hands on this one as the author planted a nice Easter Egg in the previous book. Each book should be read in order as they are all intertwined and pick up where the other leaves off.
I wasn't too sure what to think of Lexi before this one started. She seemed self-assured and very independent from My Kinda Song. I truly loved getting know her. And that sexy mechanic? Girls, he will set your kindles on fire! I was also treated to more of the grandparents antics and laughed out loud several times. I like how the author handles both the serious as well as the comedic aspects of this storyline.
I have read all of this author's other books, as she is one of my top go to authors. I don't even bother with the blurb as I know going in I will love it. I highly recommend this book, well this series.

Oh man. I absolutely LOVED this book!
I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this book and I’m so happy I did.
I’ve been intrigued about Lexi all throughout the series when we’ve been following her other sisters and I’ve always just wanted to know what was happening behind close doors with her marriage and just her life in general. And it did not disappoint.
Lexi is just a women who all in her life has wanted just a simple life with love and a family. But with Chris the douchecanoe she’s just not getting it.
Enter Linkin Stone. Oh man I fell hard for him so bad! Like literally from the moment I met him.
With the bad boy image and persona of a bachelor, he’s literally everything a good girl shouldn’t want. But that all changes when he meets Lexi. And deep down he’s just a sweet and loving guy who loves his family and can’t wait for his own one day. And he’s also sexy as hell! I had to fan myself a couple of times!!! Damn!!
These two were perfect for each other in every single way, the girl who was literally a firecracker with her feisty attitude and wild ways and the boy who loves to push boundaries and buttons. There’s nothing better!

My Kinda Mess is book 4 in the Summer Sisters Series, its funny, flirty, sexy and emotional all at the same time. As with the previous books I have read from this very talented author I was completely hooked from the get go.
To the outside world Lexi Summer has always looked like she had everything she could ever wish for, a loving husband, a beautiful home and a job she loves but there's one thing she has always longed for and that's a baby. Unfortunately her husband definitely isn't on the same page, she's fed up of him spending more and more time working and when she discovers a secret he's been keeping from her its the final straw, she decides she has to leave him and moves into her sisters apartment.
Linkin is Lexi's hot and sexy neighbour he also rubs her up the wrong way whenever he's near, but all that's about change as they end up getting to know each other thanks to Linkin's two eight year old twin brothers. There's a great spark between Linkin and Lexi I just hope they can overcome the obstacles thrown their way to enable them to make a go of their relationship.
A fabulous read that I would highly recommend and although it can be read as a standalone I'm almost certain that once you start you will want to devour each and every book in this series, even if its only for more escapades involving the girls outrageous grandparents!!

Gah! This book! It gave me so much feels!!!
“One time, one night, one day with you is never gonna be enough.”
I was wrapped in this book from the first page, and was kinda disappointed when I realised it was over. Lexi & Linkin (I especially loved that his name came from a really awesome band!) will steal your heart immediately, but the entire Summer clan will own it. Grandma Emmie is something else, I tell you! You'll be laughing out loud (if you're like me) and people will be watching you funny.
I love how possessive, cocky & confident Linkin is. He knows what he wants and he goes after it with a single-minded purpose, and it was sexy as hell to read. He wanted his mom to be comfortable and not worry about the mess she was in, and he made that happen. He wanted Lexi to realise that they had something special, something better than just fiery hot chemistry, and he made sure to worm himself into her heart til she couldn't bear to let him go.
"You are already under my skin, Lexi. It's only fair that I do the same to you."
This is the first in the series that I've read, and it totally made me want to read the others in the series before it. I loved this book, and you would, too.

My Kinda Mess is the 4th book in the Summer Sisters Series, and my admiration for Lacey just keeps growing!! Lexi thought she had everything she could ever want, a job she loves, a nice home. She's not very happy with her marriage though, her husband doesn't make her a priority. His work is his everything, then Lexi discovers a secret that changes everything. She goes and stays at her twin sisters apartment where she officially meets her sexy neighbor Linkin. She doesn't like him at first, or at least that's what she keeps telling herself Lol she thinks he's cocky, full of himself...and yes, she thinks he's sexy with all his tats. She soon discovers that he's a pretty good guy and enjoys spending time with him...then he meets the grandparents, which is always laugh your ass off hilarious, extremely uncomfortable because you just never know what is going to come out of their mouths!! Lexi is impressed that Linkin doesn't run screaming, that he sticks around. I loved this book, and would recommend to everyone to read this!! It can be read as a standalone, but you will seriously want to read all the books, I can't wait for more!!
