Space Boy Volume 1 by Stephen McCranie is a graphic novel about humanity and is survival and travels into the great void of space. It is a plot about friendship, loneliness and adjusting during a time or situation that feels impossible.
Meet Amy. To Amy everyone has a taste, usually...
She has synesthesia: a unique ability to assign a taste, colour or even sound to things that don't usually have that trait.
Having grown up on a mining facility deep in space Amy finds out that her father has lost his job and she and her family will have to travel back to Earth where she knows no one.
When arriving on Earth Amy starts school and meets a boy with no colour or taste.
It's cute as heck. I enjoyed reading this Manga and I can't wait to read more as soon as possible.
It's more about Amy at this point, but I can't wait to learn more about the other characters in this story
I really love the world building! The author recreate our technologies to another level yet not too far from we have today. I rarely read sci-fi but it was easy to follow the narration of this graphic novel. The art is so simple yet so vibrant in color. It really pop-up when only a few colors were used, like yellow and cyan(if i'm not mistaken).
