Beautiful surprise!

This was more than I expected in this book! I understood what ego is and dissolve it; yet I felt more attuned to myself and my faith. Cheers!

A Real "How To" Book That Gets Right To It.

This book is short on philosophy send long on practicality. It should be titled "How To" Dissolve the Ego. For me it augments well my knowledge of mindfulness through Eckhart Tolle and Ronald Seigel. Changing our relationship to thought because one can't completely eliminate it is emphasized. Tolle says "true freedom comes when we realize we are not the thinker", and this book emphasizes tuning into the awareness of thought, not thoughts themselves. My true self is the awareness behind thought - the quiet presence that is aware of thought. Hamilton emphasizes the need to live in the awareness of all things, not in the things themselves wet thigh comprise three Ego. She gives simple, realistic practices and realistically manages our expectations by telling us the goal is being aware of awareness and that is all. I've sampled most of the "transcending the Ego" books, and this one gets right to it and manages to stay in the simplicity of this profound concept of returning to the true self I was before my conditioned mind - my Ego -emerged.

Great Read

I took away a lot from reading this book. When I used to read the Bible and see scriptures where God says to “be still”, be humble and meek or the “meek shall inherit the earth”, i did not understand them. After reading this book, those scriptures stand out so much, it’s amazing.

Furthermore, my ego has been in its comfort zone and these practices make it easy for me to dissolve the ego and let me accept all that is waiting in escrow for me.
