Sin & Saint

Rate this book
(This is a previously-published edition of ASIN B0784VVGQX.)

Eric and Ellison Gant better known as Sin and Saint were opposite sides of the same coin. They epitomized the nicknames given to them by their friends in the band Executioners. One thing Sin and Saint did well was fight and being inseparable means they had a lot of disagreements, but one thing they agreed on was Sheriff Camden Pelter was theirs. The older, stoic man didn’t agree, yet they were determined to change his mind.

Camden Pelter had the daunting job of turning the Powers Sheriff Department around. The residents of the Georgia town didn’t have much faith or respect in the Deputies serving them. That’s where he came in and he was determined to do his job. That was easier said than done with two annoying brothers Sin and Saint who dogged his every step. No way in hell was he getting mixed up in the chaos that were the Gant Twins. Now if only if he could get them to listen and realize they didn’t have a chance of changing his mind.

What a bitter-sweet book. I was so looking forward to Sin & Saint's story but it also means the end of another series by Dabney.

Camden is that dirty-talking alpha daddy I love and eat up. He's so yummy. Sin & Saint, brothers, set their sights on Camden and finally broke down his defenses. Camden had one moment where I wanted to beat him but he was a great daddy to his two boys. And they, in turn, go after and rescue what's theirs.

I'm looking forward to the Trenton series next. And I'd really like to know about Lou....

This series and this author is clearly not for me as I am in the minority here. But this writing just doesn’t work for me.

Too much plot progression happens...offpage.
Intimacy mostly happens...offpage.
Relationship growth happens...offpage.
What happens on page? A lot of superficial moving the story along quickly. Basically it’s like going from A to D to H to Z...instead of A to B then C.

All of a sudden these three went from not-gonna-happen to being together. It was clunky, awkward, unromantic, unsexy and confusing as all hell. I don’t know why they are together. We just get told that weeks have gone by and they’ve been together. Apart from attraction I just can’t see it. Although the thought of it is very, very intriguing I’m not sold. I don’t buy it. I’m not reading the words and feelings from their actions. I’m just constantly being told stuff.

And don’t get me started on how the whole damn town is talking about them being together, about their sex life (which we don’t get many details of), about getting married. They’ve barely been together on-page and I’m meant to think this is cute and funny. If this was real life I’d be pissed if this many people were all up in my business and if it was all they seemed to talk to me about.

So, yeah. Not for me. YMMV.

I feel like I been waiting for this one, forever!
It did not disappoint... I'm so obsessed with this series!
I knew I was going to love Sin and Saint's story, and I knew
the Sheriff would give in eventually. It all seemed like it happened
so fast, after he'd been denying it for so long, but the wait was well worth it.

I did not expect the Daddy kink, was an awesome surprise that was.
I loved how Camden treated the boys as individuals instead of like one in the same.
He was sweeter was Saint, because that's what Saint needed from him and he was a bit
rougher with Sin, because... well, their names say it all, doesn't it? I also loved the hidden
depths to Sin... He was more like Saint than he wanted to admit, and I'm glad it was noticed
and taken care of too.

You really just can't go wrong with this series or the ones before it. I cannot wait and am sincerely
hoping for more from Liv and Raul and Pure and all the guys from the Trenton Crew...
Liv especially. Sigh.... impatiently waiting, but waiting nonetheless.
Another perfect addition, maybe even my favorite.
5, well deserved stars from me!

REVIEWED FOR LOVE BYTES

I was really looking forward to Sin and Saint and to finally seeing the twins get their man but sadly I think it ended up being my least favourite of the series. I’m not even sure why but the relationship between the three men felt stilted and awkward. Daddy play doesn’t bother me at all but it felt forced and as though it didn’t belong – it just happened without any discussion or mention and for a pair of virtual sexual virgins all of a sudden they were introducing kink as if they had been playing for years.

All throughout the book the twins are quite needy and wait for all their cues from Camden until the end when they have to raise hell – fly and land in amongst a gun fight and rescue their Sheriff and they do it all without blinking – at this point I didn’t recognise the two needy and very unconfident men I had just been reading about.

I’m glad the guys got their man as it’s been a long time coming but I didn’t feel invested in their relationship and thought the ending was unrealistic. Camden was supposed to be the mature one out of the three yet he was the one who behaved like a douche at the end when the twins reverted back to their norm after their daring rescue. I finished the story feeling as though I didn’t know any of the characters any better than I did at the start of the book but the dynamic of their relationship certainly seemed to work for all those involved.

* We have many groups in town; the Brawlers, Executioner's Crew, Twirled Ink, and Trenton Security, plus all of the M/M and M/M/M groups of deliciously hot men.
Sin and Saint, 21, are twin brothers who are blonde, beautiful, and sweet.

Sheriff Camden Pelter, 43, would like to have those two as his own, but he's too old, right?

Eric/Sin and Ellison/Saint work at their porn shop, plus Saint is a pilot, and Sin jumps, climbs and more. They are also wanted for their amazing rescue skills, all learned from a thrill seeking mom. Camden has a disappointing talk with his mom, and he's come to a conclusion.

The twins are sincere and cute, but Saint/Ellison has been attacked in his past and is still a virgin. Sin has had an unpleasant first time, and the two twin men are inseparable. But, they do not have passionate feelings for each other, only for the big hunky Sheriff. The town is filled with terrific characters, and lots of excitement. Camden invites the twins for dinner and the dating begins. The three get along, and the sexy times, and tender loving care is wonderful.

Later, a tricky case takes a bad turn in the investigation, which leads to a chilling, goose-bump inducing rescue.

We get a heartwarming epilogue and an adorable HEA !
ENJOY !

All allowances being made for me jumping the wagon this late into the series (the blurbs of the first three instalments gave me the creeps), this remains a very sad mess of a book. Nothing is done to wrap up the background story in such a manner that a newcomer may be able to enjoy the specific plot of this story, quite the contrary in fact, for the prologue that takes place two years prior not only showcases atrocious writing values - it declines to explain, or rather expound, nothing, being content with the blandest of allusions to the role played by Sheriff Palter :

"He'd come here for an operation, and he was supposed to be right back out of town. That was two days ago. The Powers, Georgia, Sheriff had been into some shit. He came to town to help bring the corrupt fucker down before the racist and homophobic bastard tried to take out Scary’s crew for good",

the reason being that Mrs Dabney only cares about putting together the Sheriff and the twin pair for the first time so as to establish their chemistry. She fails at that by a quite large margin, because of the passionless, almost detached way she writes the encounter :

"He nearly hollered for Twitch when the little man darted away. He was a grown ass man so he could handle two pretty boys. Their platinum blond hair tousled around their beautiful faces. Fuck, he caught sight of himself in the mirror behind the bar, and he looked old, well, ancient compared to them. The silver patch in his goatee stood out starkly and reminded him he wasn't in his twenties or even thirties anymore.

Just don't be an asshole, Camden, he ordered himself. His hand locked tight around the bottle as the most beautiful men he’d ever seen flanked him on either side. Their slim bodies pushing in beside him, and he instantly knew which one was Sin. The boy pressed in tight to his side, while Ellison, Saint, kept a bit of distance. In his peripheral, he noticed the innocent pink that stained Ellison's cheeks and he wanted to reach for him. Chase the spreading color under the pads of his calloused fingers.

“Well, hello, sexy, you're new.”

Eric’s soft fingertips stroked up his bare arm only being stopped by the rolled cuff of his dress shirt. His stomach tightened.

“Camden.”

“You're Scary's cousin.”

Ellison's voice was softer than Eric's, and tinged with a hint of shyness that made him want to turn to him.

“Why don't you come home with us, Camden?”

“Why don't you go play with someone your own age, boy?”"

The outrageous characters of Ellison and Eric showcase the kind of intensity that can only shine in a crisp and tight plot proceeding according to a rational agenda; since the reverse is in evidence between these covers, they come off as gaudy and unidimensional and rather hard to like. As for the Sheriff, he wears so many masks, from good old boy at work to momma's boy, that his fractured psychology falls flat; all the more so since what little introspection there is to his character takes an utterly childish and choppy form because of the abysmal literary chops of the the writer (she must have missed Psychology 101) :

"Ellison, Saint, was beautiful with an innocence that called to him. His baby blue eyes seemed to be haunted by a past no one talked about. Eric, Sin, always had an in your face attitude. Fearless, yet vulnerable at the same time. He wanted to take care of them. Make sure they were always happy and content. They were blond, blue-eyed and femme. His temporary partners in the past were as muscular and masculine as him. Sex always seemed like a fight for dominance."

No need to say, after all this, that the storytelling irritated me and that I found nothing to root for in the drama. Finally, the proof-reading is as bad as the story deserved and rivals the idiosyncratic brand of English this writer confuses with style : dropped words appear on every page ("in his peripheral, he noticed" ~ "he didn't want to be some notch for boys with Daddy issues" ~"he wasn't going to call his — nothing his was in this bar" ~ "the thought of it amused him more than it should and way too tempting", etc), violently anacoluthic sentences are going haywire ("you old men pay too much attention to age or is your sexy ass still in the closet?" ~ "Eric looked at him like he was insane to turn them down and maybe he was, but he was a grown ass man, and he knew what he wanted" ~ "he was back to being that ignored rich kid. Envied for what he had, but wouldn't all those jealous fucks loved to have known just how miserable it was being him", etc), boorishly colloquial or carelessly obscure or very badly crabbed statements erect constant obstacles to the reading ("the Brawlers, Twirled World Ink, and Executioners Crews, along with Trenton Security laughed" ~ "his father probably had his secretary bent over his desk as he pounded one out before coming home" ~ "he crossed the deserted street and walked straight into chaos. Everyone called his name and waved, and Heidi nodded and went to put in his usual order. He loved it there no matter how lacking his parental units found him", etc). It amazes me that someone who has already published 21 books could still write that atrociously and yet continue to increase her followship.

Can You Say ... Jacob's Ladder?

'Nuf said. Read it.

Okay, I'm kidding but I'm really not. LOL. Although that was hot, I generally need a little more than a couple of words to entice me into reading a book these days. There are so many meh titles out there, after all. Thankfully, this isn't one of them. But in case two words is enough for you allow me to repeat these: Jacob's Ladder.

Jacob's ladder smug dean winchester

Some of the series with more and more installments forthcoming tend to kind of blend into amalgamations or turn into Groundhog Day where the personalities are so similar they start running together or you lose or transpose the details in the individual stories. So far, that is not the case for me with these.

The twinky twins finally get their man. Hooah! Freaking Cam has been running like an antelope in the Serengeti for a few books now. Well, he finally stops running ... mostly. Every overprotective, macho man-beast of a certain age is going to backslide into former habits like isolationism or martyrdom from time to time and Cam is no exception.

old dog new tricks

Old dogs, new tricks and all that I guess. But it's not overdone here, thank the book gods. Cam's wishy-washy manliness supplies the angst for this story while the wunder twins fight to lock down their walking fantasy ... finally.

I've liked all the installments in this series, but I have to say that Cam is one of my favorite characters. If you've enjoyed any of the others, you'll like this one, too.

This is a new author to me. An I am so glad that I took the chance. I absolutely loved this story. You get every emotion just slamming into you from the pages.

Sin and Saint- twins who have been through a lot in there twenty-three years. They are just so loveable. Sin has earned his name. He’s outgoing, adrenaline junkie, he also has a big heart and will do anything and everything for his brother. Saint is the shy one. He’s had some tuff times but his twin has been his rock. Saint could never be without Sin. EVER! They are both so sweet, funny, just good all the way around.
“You know what toy I want to play with, but you won’t let me attack him!” -Sin

“What is it I keep telling you about handcuffs and police records?” - Saint

Camden is the town Sheriff. He’s older then the boys. So he’s fighting his feeling. He never wanted a relationship because of his old job. But now he’s in a new town. He can be open and be who he wants to be. When he finally stops fighting, he sees what he’s been missing. An he will never let it go.

“He’d come home when he’s accepted this job, and he’s found everything he wanted in a small Georgia town- far more than he expected.”

Did not liked it one bit.

The relationship, when it finally started, felt like it came out of nowhere. It started suddenly and I sort of got confused as hell. Like, what? When did Camden came to the conclusion that, yes, he was going to start dating (??) the boys. He invited them to his house for dinner (suddenly) and out of nowhere he was kissing Saint (suddenly) and ordering them around (suddenly).
Camden has a Jacob’s Ladder in his penis for some random fucking reason, so that was a thing. It doesn’t fit with his personality at all but w/e because this entire book was a mess lmao.

I don’t know what other random ass thing happened after 46% but I am sure it was messy, out of nowhere and ridiculous.

LOL! I was wondering how long it was going to take for these boys to finally get Cam to claim them. It took a few years and a few people knocking him in the head a few times, but he finally realized he needed these boys as much as they needed him. They needed their Daddy and he needed his boys.
Cam has been fighting for years what he feels for Sin & Saint, but what finally pushed him over the edge was Saint bringing him lunch and him making Saint eat with him. He realized he needed to take care of these boys. He wanted to take care of these boys. But his job is what scared him the most. Well, that and his age. He was old enough to be their father for real, much less a Daddy. But he knew he couldn’t hold back anymore. He even went to Scary and talked with him and Linus about how to make it work. If that alone didn’t show he wanted these boys, nothing would. But he knew he needed to go slow with them. He knew something was up with Saint. Yes, he was the quieter, shier of the two, but it was more than that. And as much as Sin protected Saint, there was something there for the reason why as well. And when he got to the bottom of it, he really knew he needed to go slow and show these boys they were special and loved. Especially considering in the bedroom, they were giving him a huge gift. But unfortunately, life is catching up with him. Things are work are becoming tenser as they are still unraveling what Thorpe had done, as well as finding the rest of the dirty cops and people behind all this smuggling and trafficking. He had his suspicions about a few of his ex teammates, but nothing concrete. So when it all comes to a head, he’s left shot and in need of help. Sin & Saint don’t hesitate to go train their man. It’s what they’ve been trained by their mom for for years. They knew what to do better than anyone. They got Cam out. It was a tough situation but they did it. And now Cam was shutting them out. For two weeks, they’ve been without each other after being together almost everyday for months. And it takes some head smacking into Cam’s thick head to make him stop acting a fool. But will it be too late for apologies and forgiveness or will the boys come back home?
I get Cam. I do. It’s so hard when in law enforcement. I don’t envy cops partners or any in law enforcement or even the fire dept. They’re lives are at risk every single day and it doesn’t take much for some idiot to snap. But it’s the cases he works on that make his job more dangerous. Even when he took over being Sheriff, yeah, it’s quieter, but trying to unravel all the corruption Thorpe added up, is an overwhelming task. And this job is super dangerous because of the people involved. And that scares him for any partner he might take. It’s also scary knowing he cares for not one, but two men. How can he take care of them right? He definitely doesn’t want to mess it up. And then you have the age difference. It all adds up to scaring the holy bejeebus out of him and I don’t blame him. It’s scary. But as he was told by many, you only get so many chances in life. Do you want to waste more time or finally reach out and take what’s yours? So he had to finally listen and do what his heart was telling him.
Sin & Saint couldn’t have been more happier. They knew Cam was the one for them from day one. But some things in their pasts have made them a bit nervous and Saint more skittish than most. Sin was truly just as skittish but he hid it behind his mouth and tough bravado. And with how Cam treated them, it was exactly what they needed. They needed someone to treat them like they were special and as individuals. Even though they were extremely close and twins, they were still two different people. And Cam made sure he treated them they way they needed while making sure they knew they were his and his alone.
It’s hard when fears and doubts hold you back from what you need, but sometimes it does. Whether it be a job, or something bad, or whatever, when you hold back because of fears, you can often miss out on the best things that can happen to you. It’s a lesson we all have to learn at some point. It’s a scary thing. But as Cam was told so often, we only get so many chances in life. Either grab ahold of what you want or walk away.

My Review ~

Sin & Saint is the fourth book in the Executioners series, which is a spin-off series to both the Twirled World Ink and Brawlers series. While you could possibly read them as stand alones, I personally don't recommend it because the characters from the other books make multiple appearances through all the books.

So this is a little bit of a different type of romance since it involves twin brothers who are attracted to the same man. There is NO twincest in this story, so don't get squicked out when you read that...it's a poly romance with no taboo anything to this story. I'll admit I was really curious how this author was going to handle Sin & Saint and whoever their potential mate or mates might have been. There's no hiding that they're extremely close siblings, and depend on each other for support and strength. They are also a major handful of wickedly sexy, snarktastic young men who need someone who can handle their quirks and vulnerabilities. Of course that means they need someone, in this case, the same someone to be their rock but still allow them to spread their wings.

They want that with the sexy new sheriff, Camden Pelter, who happens to be Scary's cousin. Camden at first wants nothing to do with the twins, or so he thinks, mostly because of his own issues but also the age difference. The boys try their damnedest to break down Cam's walls and they finally do...and when they do well let's just say sparks fly off the page. Cam is a great foil for these two because he treats them as individuals, wants to develop individual relationships with each, but also knows their bond means everything to Eric and Ellison. He really does see each of the twins as they are meant to be seen.. and that's honestly one of the best parts of this story for this reader.

Is this a perfectly written book? No.. as with most self published books there are errors here and there.. did they yank me out of the flow of the story.. NOPE.. not at all. The story was just want was needed for these characters, and for this reader, while not perfect still a really good, really enjoyable story. Any why I say not a perfect story.. I felt like Sin stole a little more of the page time over Saint, so I felt like there was more to know about Saint that we may not have necessarily gotten to seen on page. Again it's not a major issue and most likely won't bother other readers.

Of course if you've read this author before you know her characters are a little rough around the edges and that's what makes their stories enjoyable. They're flawed, pissy, inked, and bearded men who find the perfect for them matches. I happen to enjoy this author's books enough that she's on my autobuy list. I highly recommend this book for fans of the author and encourage others who haven't read the series to start with the Twirled World Ink books and work your way through to this one.

It’s so good to be back in Powers, Georgia and I’ve been chomping at the bit for this book as I was so intrigued about Sheriff Camden Pelter and the beautiful blond twins, Eric and Ellison Gant, aka Sin and Saint. I knew from seeing excerpts and the previous book that this was gonna be one case of chase and catch I didn’t want to miss.

It wasn’t easy for the twins because, even though they were determined af and knew in their hearts that Camden was their man, the Sheriff was determined not to succumb because of the age difference and the dangers of his old job that could very well leave any partner or partners of his, premature widows, but he doesn’t take into account the determination of the twins and the fierce feelings of protectiveness he feels for them, not to mention the ever-present raging lust.
Things begin to change when Camden takes the job as sheriff in Powers, which offers a little less danger than his old undercover gig and brings him dead on target for the twins’ affections and also the coaxing of the crews to just give in and claim the boys as his own.

This was no easy romance, Pelter wrestled with his feelings for the boys for a few years before seeing that there could possibly be a future for them. I can’t tell you how sublime this union was, the boys; who are as close and in sync as twins could be, both yearned for the security that Pelter was offering and in return they were exactly what the Sheriff needed.

This story was written beautifully and has such realness and grit and substance – which is a trademark of the authors writing - where the men are tough and gruff and bear scars that are both mental and physical but have the biggest hearts once they open them up. This story surpassed all my expectations and there’s definitely no fluff here, just a real and honest love story and I adored it!

I feel like we have been waiting for Sin and Saint’s story for so long, but it was worth each and every second! This is such a wonderful book. Sin and Saint (or Eric and Ellison, if you are talking to Camden) are so damn sweet and loving, and MAN did they surprise me with their skills! Incredible. You will have to read it to see what I mean ;)

Camden is the perfect man for Sin and Saint, and though it takes some time for him to come to terms with the beautiful young twins wanting a self-described “cranky, old Sheriff”, it is a beautiful thing when he finally does. He treats them like gold, even if I did want to slap some sense into him a couple of times. This book is a wonderful ending to the Executioners Crew series, and I cannot wait for the Trenton boys! It’s a little bittersweet every time JM Dabney releases the final book in any of these crews’ series as it’s hard to say goodbye to these awesome characters, but it’s comforting to know that we will see them all with the next crew too!

Good story

Eric and Ellison are twins. They are halves of the same whole. They set their hearts and minds on the new sheriff, Camden Pelter. Double their age he won't allow himself to want them, convinced that such young and beautiful men don't need someone as old and beat up as him. Over a long period of time they slowly wear him down and he finally decides to accept that they are his. Very nice love story with some action thrown in. We get to revisit some of the Crews and their families. J.M. Dabney has once again taken this created family of misfits and crafted a very satisfying story.

J.M. Dabney is a amazing author. I love all of her books. the think that I loved about this book is even thought the book is about twins. she has shown us all that twins are 2 different people. but at the same time they couldn't live with out one another. I love how there man is so in tuned with them. I love how from day one there man could tell them apart. I want to say this is one of my favorite books. but then again all of J.M. Dabney books are my favorite. I give this book a 5 start. it's a must read.

I've been looking forward to Camden and the twin's story but this one didn't quite gel for me. Sin and Saint come across as these virginal characters who need a daddy but then they break out with their badassness and I was just confused. It felt like I was reading about a different set of characters. I didn't dislike it but didn't like it as much as the others in the series.

This is the 4th and last book in the Executioners series.

Sin and Saint are identical twins and very close in all that they do, including crushing on the Sheriff - Camden Pelter. Camden is older, behemoth of a man and supposedly wiser... After initially rejecting the twins whilst staying for a mission with Trenton, two years later he is back in the new position of Sheriff and is soon swayed into a relationship with the twins.

Then Camden revealed his Jacobs Ladder and I thought *whoop!!*

But....

I struggled with this book. I am not a huge fan of siblings in a menage relationship or daddy kink, so this book already had two strikes against it. However, putting all that aside, the MC's didn't really feel like a unit, even with the twins working in an adult store - they had not prior experience of Daddy play before they met Camden. Sin was the more dominant of the twins and up to that point, he had been the only one that had a previous relationship (of sorts) - so even sharing a partner between them was all new - it just felt strange and very awkward that this didn't raise any complications or even emotions???

In the other books, the twins always seemed to be very happy-go-lucky with their work in the adult store or on stage with the band. So, it didn't feel natural for them to be so needy with Camden and when they had to go rescue his arse during a mission that went awry - I thought I was reading about other characters, it just didn't compute that the twins had turned into a couple of ninjas warriors!

The story ends with the proposal and epilogue. Overall, it was nice to see the three of them settled, but I didn't enjoy it as much as I had hoped.

The new spin off series "Trenton Security" is next.

From that review: " Since the first mention of Camden Pelter and the twins, I (and tons of other fans of J.M. Dabney) have been waiting for this book.  Through story after story, Sin and Saint (Eric and Ellison Gant) have been chasing the older, gorgeous Sheriff of Powers, Georgia only to be rebuffed time and again.  Still, we knew that Camden would eventually come to the realization that the twins were his and we'd get that story.

And it would be full of sizzle and probably some kink.

However, I wasn't expecting some terrific suspense scenes, high action, and some real twists to come our way as well.  Sin & Saint (Executioners #4) by J.M. Dabney delivers with a pack, a punch, and a high note on every level as the last story in the Executioners series."

I never really conected with any of the MCs. And i never felt any of the connection between them either. And all the Daddy talk got boring and cringeworthy rather quick. There were lots and lots of growling and yelling from all the large males and an equal ammount of whining from their smaller counterparts.

I was really looking forward to this book, but it just seemed like Camden loved Ellison more. It wasn't equal and more like Eric was a third wheel in the relationship.

**********Contains Spoilers**********

I enjoyed this book but it was my least favourite of the series. I found it a bit disjointed for some reason. Eric and Ellison aka Sin and Saint have a very close relationship (nothing taboo) they’re even more inseparable than other twins. They’ve had a close bond even before they were born. Eric and Ellison have always known that they were going to end up being with the same man. They been interested in Camden Pelter from when they first saw him at Brawlers 2 years ago and went up to him to ask him back to their’s. Even though Camden wanted them he turned them down as he had not only had an issue with their massive age gap, he was still with the State Police at that stage and worked undercover and he would never subject a partner/s to that life. Ever since Camden moved to Powers and took over the Sheriff’s position it’s been really obvious to all their friends/found family that the twins are head over heels for the Sheriff and vice versa. Man, Scary and Linus had great enjoyment out of teasing Camden about Eric and Ellison and that he took care of his boys thinking no one else noticed. He’s a d*ddy to his core. Camden was wanting some advice from Scary how he copes with having two partners, as Camden as at a complete loss how to make things work with Eric and Ellison. Scary and Linus’s great advice that he should just let go and f*ck them as he wont be as grumpy otherwise.

Scary and Linus found it hilarious but Camden wasn’t impressed. I loved getting more of their found family. I miss Psycho and Joker though as they’re two of my favourites. I can’t believe how much time has past since book 1 of the Twirled World Ink Series. I’m hoping that JM Dabney decides to write more books from the Powers County Universe like next generation with the kids. I know in real life that maybe none of them are part of the LGBTQ+ community, but it’s called fiction for a reason and created from JM Dabney’s head so why can’t they all be some form of queer so we can get more stories, as I love this Universe that they’ve created? Man, Lou is an amazing human being. As she was not only a surrogate for her twin Lucky and his husband Priest, again for their friend’s Harper and Ghost and finally for Camden, Eric and Ellison. It’s a beautiful gift to carry a child for someone he can’t but it would be so hard to had that child over, well it would be for me and it’s obvious that it was really hard for Lou since she needed time by herself after she’d given birth to Camden, Eric and Ellison’s daughter Elizabeth. I’m looking forward to reading the Trenton Security Series next and Liv’s book is up first. I’m really looking forward to seeing what makes the man tick. I’d definitely recommend this book, series, universe and author to everyone.

Feel-good story with no depth.

I read over 300 books a year. I very rarely review books that don’t rate a 4 or 5 star. I am just incredibly disappointed in this end of series book. I had a hard time even finishing it. This was a very surface level book in my opinion. It was like the author had a fantastic idea, wrote an outline and just filled in as fast as possible. The characters had barely any depth, their personalities were ‘explained’ but very weakly shown a few times. It annoys me that any author would have to tell the reader that a character was being hesitant - just write what he is doing that shows that hesitancy. We’re not idiots- if you write it well enough, we will understand. I felt the annoyance of being ‘told’ many times during the book. The plot would have been good, it just fell flat. The twins trained their whole lives to be rescue operators - yet never practiced their specialized skill until the end of the book (although it was briefly mentioned in the previous book). Why did they end up owning an adult store if they had such highly sought after skills? I had a ton of questions like that running through my head the whole time I was reading. The triad relationship where two were very close twins could have been such a good solid anchor point for the story, as could the ‘previous trauma’ of Sin that his brother didn’t even know about. Neither of these things were expounded on to give the story even a bit of depth. Things were mentioned in the book but never felt like there was closure on them. There was another birth and Lou (the three time surrogate) has a little bit of a melt-down afterwards- it’s ‘dealt with’ in a few sentences. Seriously, why even add that at the very end of a happily ever after book? Great premise, great foundations, but terrible execution. I would not recommend this book. In my opinion, skip this book and try Dabney’s “Cold Case Unit” series instead. Much greater depth to the characters, and better overall execution on the plots.

I don't consider this a short book, but I wouldn't say it's average either. I've read some shorter books than this one and they covered what the story required well. This novel didn't have any problematic themes that triggered it. The themes covered here were age difference, interracial relationships, polyamorous relationships, snobbish families, low self-esteem, mention of homophobia in the family, mention of attempted sexual abuse and mention of human trafficking that wasn't developed in the story. The author developed the safe parts well, but I still thought something was missing.

I don't understand about book launches, or the issue of the number of words or characters written, how it works, if there is a limit for a certain type. I don't know. What I know is about what I read, what I like and what I don't. And I don't understand why certain books are so limited, why some authors don't extend and develop their stories more, if it's because of some kind of launch limitation. This is just a rant. I've read all the books in the Crew universe and liked most of them, but it was also very frustrating.

Camden is the new sheriff in town and from the beginning he has been interested in the twins, Sin and Saint, who play in the band Executioners and work in the sex shop. After denying them for a long time, the sheriff decides to start a relationship and that's it. Insecurities on some sides, sex and Daddy knows best.

We have a bit of action at the end with the rescue of Camden, carried out by the twins and the Trenton Security team, but it didn't make an impact. And that's where the lack of development comes in, it's all very convenient when the author wants it to be. But as they say, it's his book and he can write whatever he wants.

This book is not about taboo relationships. The twins don't have a romantic relationship, they share a man, but that's it.

4 Stars!

I loved Sin and Saint when I met them in book 2 in this series and it was even better now that I got to learn their backstories. They were intriguing and an alluring mix of innocence and maturity, probably due to their upbringing.

I liked Camden, but there were many moments in which he seemed more immature than the twins. The push and pull got a bit tiring, as did his bitching about their age difference. Really, there's only so much of that I can read until I want to scream.

I will admit that the dynamics between them was very interesting. The three of them are together, but there's no twincest here. Eric and Ellison (Sin and Saint) share Camden and he gives them his equal attention, both at the same time and individually. They have great chemistry, especially when Camden stops thinking about his age or how his previous job could potentially endanger the twins, who more than prove that they have what it takes to take care of themselves and Camden.

I think one of my favorite moments in this story was Camden's rescue near the 70% mark, it was a fast-paced, well-organized mission and I just couldn't get enough of how well it all worked out.

Overall, the book was a very entertaining read. Fun and hot, and even if I was a bit frustrated with Camden, I enjoyed it thoroughly. Very recommendable!

Eric and Ellison Gant are probably one of my favourite characters. They have a vulnerability to them that pulls at the heart strings and although they are twins they are very individual. In this story you see the development of their relationship with Sheriff Camden Pelter (a brooding, older man) who feels that the twins are far too young for him, but the twins keep persevering and you see the development of a triad relationship which has its ups and downs.
You also get to see the twins as 'real life' heroes and how Camden finds it difficult when they put themselves in dangerous situations.
Again, the crew is all here and you see the dynamics of each relationship and how they have all become a family. I do love Peaches as a character!
I've read many of the books by this author. Each story can be read as a standalone and focuses on building relationships and overcoming issues which arise in relationships, mainly due to lack of communication and peoples own psychoses. I can't wait to see what else Ms. Dabney comes up with and I would also love just to keep reading about the men that I've already read about. These books are fun, engaging and really sweet.

Sin and Saint made no bones who they wanted and that was Sheriff Camden Pelter. For two years he kept them at arm's length not allowing them to break his reserve. He felt that he was too old and not good enough for them. Sin (Eric) and Saint (Ellison) know that Camden is the man that they have been waiting for and the only man who will make them complete. Their determination breaks Camden's walls down and he figures maybe a relationship could work. I really loved reading how their relationship grew and I especially loved how Camden cared for his boys. I am a huge fan of this author's work and have been waiting for awhile for their story to evolve and let me tell you it was so worth the wait! I absolutely loved this book and not gonna lie I'm a bit sad that this is the end of the Executioners. I am sure however that we will see all of them again in future books. I highly recommend this story and honestly any book this author writes....the stories are that good. I can't wait to read what is coming out next...well done!!!
