Purrfect Santa was the purrfect Christmas novella! Its so adorable! Fated mates, an adorable toddler, and a lion fighting for his panther!

Nikki is NOT looking for her mate, but she knows Joe is it as soon as she sees him. Being mated destroyed her parents. They were neglectful to her and her baby sister because they were so wrapped up in each other. They died 6 months before and Nikki has vowed that she will always be there for Sarah. Joe has a big mountain of walls to scale to win his mate. I think this story will appeal to people who aren't huge fans of the fated mate trope because Nikki doesn't fall for Joe right away. She is willing to walk away from their bond because she is scared of turning into her parents.

I just adore this story! Nikki's sister is adorable, Nikki and Joe are likable characters, and the story is just too sweet! Seriously-there wasn't a thing about this I didn't just swoon over! I haven't read any other Howls Romance books but if they are all as wonderful as Purrfect Santa, I will read every one of them!

Purrfect Santa is a feel good, sweet novella romance story that will leave you with a warm feeling long after the story has finished. Joe is filling in as a mall Santa to help out a friend he is temporarily staying with after he left the military. As he is doing his job, he scents his mate waiting in line with a child who wants to get her turn with Santa. This is where the story really takes a lovely and heartwarming turn..we meet Joe’s mate, Nikki and her little sister who have just recently lost their parents and are trying to come to turns with this while trying to celebrate the Christmas holidays. Nikki does not want to let love him and she is rebuffing Joe, not wanting a mate so he has his work cut out for him. Will this alpha male get his Christmas wish and his female? I loved the chemistry, the love of family and the festive holiday spirit in this novella. You don’t want to miss this story!!

Joe and Nikki's story is sweet and warm and hopeful and pretty much everything you want in a Christmas romance.

Joe's filling in for Santa at the mall and Nikki's in line so her little sister can see Santa. Even from a distance, they scent one another and know what they are to one another. Joe isn't deterred by the fact that Nikki's sister comes with her, neither is he put off by her resistance to the mating instinct. Nikki is prickly and wary. She doesn't want anyone in her life who's going to leave like her parents did, who'll end up crushing her and her sister Sarah's hearts and spirits more than they already are.

Nikki kept unloading ornaments until Joe came and knelt down beside her.

“Why do I get this feeling you’re not as thrilled as Sarah is about the tree?”

Unable to look at him for fear of crying, Nikki kept her eyes on the box in front of her. “You can’t buy our love, Joe.”

Two fingers tipped her face his way and she stared into his determined face. “Not trying to buy your love, babe. What I am trying to do is give my girls a good Christmas. There’s a difference and I hope you can see that.”

Leaning toward him, Nikki whispered, “Promise me you’re not going to hurt us, Joe. Promise me that if I let you in to mine and Sarah’s lives that you’re not going to leave us. Because I don’t think either of us can take that sort of pain again.”

Joe reached out and cradled her face in his big hands. “You accept me, accept our mating, and there’s nothing that can take me away from you or Sarah. Promise you that, sweetheart.”

This is such a poignant moment in their story. The loss Sarah and Nikki feel is present throughout the story but this moment between Nikki and Joe highlights the underlying emotion that is mentioned but not really voiced: fear.

I love that Joe is tender in this moment and giving so much of himself to Nikki with just a few words.

Joe's gentle persistence pays off. He breaks through the walls Nikki's built and earns the right to claim her as his mate and Sarah as his family. The gift of claiming and loving is the perfect end for this Christmas story.

All I wish for Christmas

What an absolutely adorable little romance story. The characters are so endearing and their histories are so heart wrenching. I love how Joe never gave up or let himself be defeated in his quest for his mate. And little Sarah is too cute for words. This is the perfect little holiday read that is sure to get you into the holiday spirit.

I love these types of stories! Santa being played by the hero and being the 7th level of hell while doing it. I find them hilarious with the accounts of the devil children and nose pickers. Freaking funny!

That is exactly where Joe Miller’s character found himself. All he wanted was a place to crash with an old friend that offered, and then he got hooked into doing a favor. Favor is not the word for what is currently undergoing, but then heaven moves to replace hell when he smells the most amazing scent … his mate! But trust is a hard thing to come by, and trusting oneself is even worse. Nikki has trust issues and it will take everything that Joe has too overcome them.

I absolutely fell in love with Nikki’s baby sister, Sarah, in this story. She is completely and utterly adorable and falls so hard for Joe. And that is not a hard thing to do. For all his lion male alphaness, Joe is a very heartwarming character that falls hard, quickly, for both Nikki and Sarah. He wants nothing more than to give them the home and feeling of family that they have lost.

I had a bit of a hard time liking Nikki through the story. Both she and her sister are dealing with the loss of their parents and I understand how that can mess with a person, but she really came off whiny at times. I did begin to like and understand her as the story went on, but it did take a bit of time.

All in all, I enjoyed the characters and the storyline. It is at times heart wrenching and exhilarating to see the love story play out and acceptance be achieved. I would definitely recommend PURRFECT SANTA. It was a cute story with some angst thrown in for flavor.

I thought this was a sweet little romance story.

I thought that Joe and Nikki were perfect for each other. Although at times I did find Nikki to be a bit hard headed. I thought Joe was perfect. And Nikki's sister was adorable and at times the only thing that saved this book. I also don't think Nikki gave her sister enough credit that she could move on from losing their parents.

I didn't have an issue with this book. And found it to be enjoyable. But my issue really comes from the Howls romance series. I understand that these are novella's and that there shorter than normal books and your most likely to just scratch the surface of a story with these books. But at times I feel like we don't get to know the characters very well. Though I will make an exception and say I think we got to know Joe and Nikki well in this one. But I'm not sure why they consider these novella's paranormals. Yes I understand that the characters in all of the Howls romance series are shifters of some kind, so that makes them paranormal. But never once in any of the books that I have read in this Howls line have the ever shifted. Their shifters have been mentioned in books and wanting to get out. But they just never shift in these books and that bugs me.

Anyways I'm giving this book 3.5 Stars out of 5!!!!

***I received an ARC of this book for my honest opinion***

I Voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book

This book is about a Lion shifter who is a retired military guy and who got stuck doing the job of playing Santa at the mall for his friend. Which sucks big time, until he comes face to face with his mate.

Nikki and little Sarah just lost their parents, so Christmas might not be a good time for them. But Nikki is doing everything in her power to make Christmas still happy for her little sister. And the last thing she needs is to meet her mate. Nikki doesn't want a mate, because she doesn't trust in it. As her parents were in a car accident, her mother died instantly but her father was still alive but chose to die with his mate. And Nikki can't go through something like that.

So poor Joe is in for a rough time convincing his mate to give him a shot. So he makes a deal with her, 3 days to convince her to be his mate. And even though Nikki doesn't believe he can convince her she can't deny that the mate attraction is strong and little Sarah falling for Joe is another problem.

Short, sweet, sexy, and so good. This story will have you smiling from ear to ear and rooting for Joe and Nikki to find their happily every after.

Purrfect Santa is a hot, steamy, fun novella. I have read other books in the Howls Romance series and this one is a perfect addition to the group of books.

Jessie Lane and Chasity Bowlin have managed to take a short story and making it seem longer, more depth to the story, and more fun that some longer books that I have read. I always think that it can’t be easy to write a novella, yet these two have it figured out. There was just enough depth and development to not feel that anything has been left out or that any of the story is missing. I felt like I was able to get to know the characters enough to be invested in their lives. I could feel the heat between Nikki and Joe, I could feel the love, and I could feel their relationship grow, becoming real and steady. Of course, I’d love more just like I should after any good book is over but I was happy with the entire book.

I’d recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a fun, sexy, hot shifter novella. Purrfect Santa is a great quick holiday read.

Star Rating - ****

Love paranormal? love Christmas? Love a short story? Then this Jessie Lane and Chastity Bowlin novella is the perfect read for you. Telling the story of 2 shifters finding love at Christmas Purrfect Santa was a fab short to read! With a good mix between plot and characters the authors found the perfect balance for this novella, that left me wanting more.

I love a paranormal read, but I struggle to find ones that tick all my plot boxes especially with a shorter length novel. Too many seem to be sexy but without the characters and story line to back it up. Thankfully this was not the case with Purrfect Santa, set over only a few days this short had a back story, characters that I alternated with wanting to hug and say it will get better to screeching at just give it a go! A quick read that is the Purrfect introduction to 2 authors and there paranormal ways 4 stars!

When Joe plays the part of Santa at the mall as a favor for his friend, he doesn't expect to meet his mate in the process. The last thing Nikki wants at the moment is her mate. Sure its nice but she has her baby sister to take care of, and if there is anything Nikki knows its that loving someone means losing them at some point and she will do anything to spare herself and Sarah that pain again. As is the way with mates, Nikki finds that she can't say no to Joe, even though her brain is telling her to let him down easy. Will she end up following her heart and saying yes to everything that Joe is promising?

This was a cute shifter novella, that gives us a bit of drama, some three year old cuteness, a quick sexy time, and some major Christmas spirit. I give this 4 stars.

Really sweet book

I seriously am in love with this book. All three characters Joe, Nikki and adorable little Sarah will just absolutely melt your heart away. Joe is a lion and is playing santa for his friend at the mall. Nikki is raising her three year old baby sister after their parents had passed. They are waiting on it when both realize that they are mates. He knows what losing someone is like as he's been an orphan since he was little. Nikki is so afraid of letting someone in again and having to go through that pain that she pushes him away the neither time. But he is not deterred in the slightest and is persistent. He is just so good with little Sarah that it makes you want to cry. It takes her thinking he had been in accident to know that she needs him and loves him. Really amazingly sweet book.

A shifter Christmas story was just what I needed to sit down and enjoy during the holiday madness surrounding us right now.

Purrfect Santa is the story of Joe and Nikki. It was a feel good story that I got through in one sitting. Joe knew right away that Nikki was his mate. While she realised the same, due to losing her parents and now being the sole carer for her little sister, bonding with a mate was not high on her to-do list so she tried to put Joe off, but with a shifters determination and interest, Joe wasn't so easily put off.

Jessie Lane gave us wonderful characters and the connection, trust and affection between Joe and Sarah was lovely to read, especially as her sister was Nikki's main concern and focus.

A solid 4* recommended read.

This story is short, fast paced and festive. I devoured this book in one sitting and wasn’t once bored. I really liked the story and the characters.
I liked Joe and Nikki. Despite Nikki’s reluctance to mate, the chemistry between them was clear to see.
My heart hurt for Nikki. She hurt from the loss of her parents. She also put Sarah first before anything or anyone, including herself. That being said, I truly wanted her to give Joe a chance. I wanted her to stop pushing her mate away and grab a hold of her happily ever after.
I really liked Sarah, she was so cute. I liked the bond she quickly formed with Joe. I also liked how accepting Joe was of her.
One last thing; Joe’s reaction to being the mall Santa was hilarious.
The storyline for this book is easy to follow and a nice read.

Purrfect Santa is a delightful paranormal romance that entices readers with a wealth of emotions and holiday inspiration.

Joe and Nikki are strong, defined characters that pull readers into their story as they struggle with past heartaches and a romance that may just prove to be too much hope for their battered hearts. The story keeps readers glued to the pages with lots of suspense, romance and hope which gives readers a delicious happy holiday feeling as the couple strives for the happily ever after.

I was completely caught up in the story from the very beginning and fell in love with Joe and Nikki and definitely for Nikki’s little sister and while the story was short, it packed quite a punch.

I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, naughty fun, and sadness.

This is Nikki and Joe’s story. Nikki knows all about loss. She is currently taking care of her orphaned sister. She is fighting a losing battle of her own grief. She has to much to do to give in. She has to figure out how to move forward and process her grief while also taking care and loving her sister. Joe was rooked into playing Santa. But one look at Nikki and he knows he found his mate. Can he help her with her issues and also give her the support and love she needs? Or will he just play Santa and walk away?

I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I recommend this book.

Christmas wish

Nikki is just getting by day by day after losing both parents and becoming her baby sister's guardian. She's so afraid of being hurt that when faced with meeting her mate, her immediate reaction is to run in the opposite direction. Joe is ecstatic when he meets Nikki, he doesn't mind that she's has a small child with her but he's completely confused when she wants to reject the mate bond. There is so much pain expressed in this story and Joe's character is patient and resilient while working to reassure Nikki that he will be there for her and Sarah over the long haul.

Purrfect Santa is a feel good holiday quickie.
Joe Miller is fresh out of the military and hanging out with a friend while he makes plans. He didn’t expect to find his mate but now that he has he will do whatever is necessary.
Nikki has been through so much change in the last six months. Her parents were killed and she now has custody of her three year old sister. She doesn’t have time for a mate.
Maybe just maybe they can find a Christmas miracle together.
Not great art but a sweet read that will leave you with a smile and feeling good.

Nikki is determined to give her sister a normal Christmas. When their parents died, she had to set up and she had done a good job of it. Her whole life is the little girl now and that doesn’t leave time for anything else. Joe is a lion shifter that is working as Santa at the local mall. When he sees Nikki, his lion immediately knows she is the one. Can these two finally find a happy life or will they both lose out because of Nikki’s insecurities. Great writing with a storyline that is full of Christmas spirit.

This is a wonderful stand alone romance with a HEA ending. I usually avoid Christmas themed movies and books, because they are usually over the top sappy. That isn't the case with this one. Despite the shortness of the story, I still found the characters to be engaging and the story interesting. While the shifters don't actually shift into their animal forms during this story, it didn't seem unreasonable that they didn't. If you are looking for a little bit of steam with your paranormal holiday romance, I highly recommend this story.

Sadly this one only gets a 2.5 stars from me.
While it could have been a cute, albeit short, love story...
It was just a bit cheesy.
I really REALLY dislike when authors portray a child as much older than their years.
Sarah is suppose to be a 3 year old toddler. Yet she can speak in complete sentences, pick up on unspoken nuances, emotions & body language perfectly, all while still sucking her thumb🤦🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️
Nikki is too hot/cold & just dull.

I’ve read other books by this author & I know she can/has written much better stories.

Shifter Christmas

Nicki is struggling to understand how her father could leave them to die with her mother when Sarah was just a 3 year old girl. Now In charge of her sister Sarah she avoids all attachments that will result in more pain. What she doesn’t know is that meeting her mate will change her mind and life. Since her mate is playing Santa at the mall this year he’s the perfect person to make Nicki believe in Christmas miracles.

Purrfect Santa: Howls Romance

I choose this rating because it,s purrfect. I love Christmas , and a guy trying so hard to be for a child as well as a mate. I didn't like the sadness but it,s part of life and we have to take the bad with the good. I recommend this book to anyone but because of the sex it should be for any one over the age of 18. Thanks for the read. Alice Addie
