An intimate account of the development of a spiritual tradition and a biography of its creators--told by one of the Diamond Approach cofounders. The Jeweled Path invites you to enter into the story of how the modern spiritual path of the Diamond Approach emerged. With humor and intimacy, Karen Johnson, cofounder with A. H. Almaas, reveals the personal experiences that birthed the teaching and furthered its development. These profound awakenings—occurring amidst ordinary life—became the building blocks of a remarkable new approach to human nature and to our understanding of reality.
I've read quite a few Diamond Approach books throughout the years so its origins have been interesting. It does provide some stunning descriptions of inner vistas. But if one has not encountered said states and is not used to the various physical metaphors of scents and diamonds, it can be maddening to get to grips with what's going on. As such, it is probably the worst introductory book to the Diamond Approach there could be.
I found “The Jeweled path” to be filled with spiritual treasures of many measures. While told from the perspective of Karen Johnson’s ordinary human life it takes the reader into the spiritually subtle and sublime as well as into spiritual realizations of immeasurable power and dimension. This honest, beautifully written, and extraordinarily personal look inside the rare phenomena of the birthing of a new spiritual teaching will certainly prove to be one for the ages.
The unfolding story within this book is the remarkable demonstration of power realization that can occur upon deeply allowing one’s inner experience to simply reveal itself, In it’s own time and own way unfettered by ego’s persuasions. The book tells the story of how profound trust for deeply abiding in reality’s golden thread of truth; a trinity was formed between Hameed, Karen and Faisal. And how within this trinity, revelation upon revelation occurred at a breathtaking pace and dimension.
I highly recommend this book for seekers of any path or methodology. For within these pages alchemy is taking place of a very high order.
A friend who practices Diamond Approach lent me this book and raves about it.
I did not enjoy it one bit. I found myself indifferent to the characters and neither cared what happened to them or found their story interesting. I am fairly well versed in psychology and eastern philosophy, and I found the spiritual practices described in this book obtuse and confusing. The metaphors of jewels and syrupy liquids made no sense to me. I found myself annoyed rather than inspired
I will return the book to my friend really non the wiser as to what he actually practices and to be honest I have no interest in exploring the diamond approach further.
Karen Johnson did a cogent job of explaining the spiritual path referred to as the Diamond Heart Approach. It is an approach that is both subtle and complex. She gave us an inside view of the development of this body of teaching. Karen and Hameed Ali have shared the journey that became this teaching. I admired the will that was required to follow and name such deep states and then share it with other seekers.
Fascinating and inspirational--beautiful spiritual memoir by Karen Johnson, co-founder of the Diamond Approach. The book takes us back to the 1960s and the roots of the personal growth movement, into Karen's life and work, and the revelations she and A. H. Almaas shared that became the Diamond Approach.
A total page turner I couldn't put it down, beautifully crafted and expressing the development and evolution of the Diamond Approach teaching. Powerful transmission of a living teaching. Thank You Karen
