I honestly don't know what to rate it yet. It seems mostly common sense and success stories. Mostly a little hesitant, but my best friend lost 80 pounds and feels amazing. She gifted me this book to see if it'll help me.
UPDATE. Common sense may seem easy, but it's hard to keep going. Even when you know it's for the best. I'm now down 65 pounds and I feel amazing. My energy, sleep, self-esteem. I still have bad days, but who doesn't? Holiday seasons cause so much stress, but I'm still going strong and so happy this book and a challenge were gifted to me.
Update 2: Over a year has passed since I started. I'm down 130 pounds and so close to goal. Stress, sleep and pain are slowing my loss, but I'm still working at it. Feeling loads better than even before.
I devoured this book. Cristy Code Red Nickel spelled out the cure for my 15 year struggle with my weight in a no-nonsense fashion that left me inspired and pumped to take back my life and health. I've lost 25 lbs in 2 months and just getting started. Read it.
I have bought a few weight loss books, downloaded apps, books and this is the first one that I have read cover to cover. I usually skip to the Do`s and Don't`s. But this time I knew it was my time. It IS my time. I am excited and feeling totally empowered to take my life back!
As I was reading her book I was inspired by simple straightforward approach. You set the rules and you just live by them. It’s a mindset. It’s a fight. But it’s a fight you can win with her easy plan.
What I like is the food you can eat is extremely simple to remember. You don’t have to refer back to a list to see if this is an approved food. You know what you can have and that’s what you eat. Period.
The book is full of tips and real talk. Cristy pulls no punches and lays it out the way it needs to be said – This is what you eat. This is what you do. No questions. Sometimes I think we need that rigid guidelines yet flexibility within the food choices to make you successful.

Cristy is very smart about her approach to being overweight and the health risks that come with that. Her advice is to focus on the food first. You have to be comfortable with eating changes and as you start to lose weight you will feel better overall and about yourself. Then is the time you can add an exercise or weightlifting, if you choose.
This book leaves you feeling inspired and ready to tackle this high fat low-carb lifestyle. I have been researching a ketonic diet for a while I know of many professional trainers and bodybuilders that use this type of plan. They are healthy and full of energy and that’s what I deserve too.

Lots of hope and a great book to get yourself healthy. I like the no nonsense approach Cristy gives in this book. It is not easy but it is so rewarding if you dedicate yourself.
I flew through this book. It is so inspiring. I’ve watched a friend of mine participate in this program, and she inspired me to check it out. I’m anxious to put these techniques into practice and see where they take me.
Red this book in June, started her 10 pound take down in July and have not turned back. Book is filled with inspirational stories which lead to me giving it a try. Easiest program I have ever done and the weight really came off!
I looked this book up and ordered it when a friend of mine posted pictures of herself showing that she had lost 70 pounds and was on her way to her goal of 100 pounds lost. I don’t have that much to lose, but had let the scale creep up and wanted to give it a try. Thanks to the rules in this book, which begin with getting enough sleep and water, I dropped 15 pounds in about 6 weeks and know that I can get down another 5-10 before I switch over from “weight loss mode” to maintenance mode. Yes, as some negative reviews (seen especially on Amazon) emphasize, she encourages people to join online challenges or purchase one on one coaching. Most people need this for accountability, but I have done neither and am still thrilled with the results I am getting. I also know that I now have the tools to stay at my goal once I reach it. Her methods work, and they are not that difficult if a person just sticks with it!
I was a skeptic. And this book changed my life. It is NOT a cookbook or a diet guide book. It makes you take some self introspection about the food and chemicals you don’t realize you’re eating. I did this plan successfully in my own before joining a challenge. Those are easy and simple to allow people a small idea of how successful They can be at this Lifestyle. I will never go back to carbs and sugars. That crap was trying to kill me. Lots of other resources available for a variety of costs. Or just keep doing it on your own. I went all in and lost 30 lbs in 2.5 months. I picked my “hard” and found it to actually be easy! Staying fat and miserable is way harder than this. The book is merely a review of the plan.
Ok… so, the diet works. I was doing everything “right” and nothing worked to get the weight off. Basically it combines elements of keto, paleo, and intermittent fasting. The author is, self admittedly, intense. The ideas work, and do get the weight off fast. The nonnegotiable rules of water intake, sleep, and eliminating of sugar makes sense. If you have weight to loose you will likely find success, much quicker than you’ve experienced before.
This is more about buying her plan and client testimonials than anything. Everyone’s perspective is different. May be motivating to some. However…there are lots of testimonies about quick weight loss due to high fat, low carb & restrictive calorie diet with no exercise. Long term weight loss not so much. Even though she professes it is a lifestyle.
This was an easy read because I was so interested in the content and the message Christy shares. I will definitely be referencing this book time and time again for motivation and inspiration. I never write reviews, but this book was worth the time!
I'm ready to take back my nutritional eating and that will be a goal as we run out of 2020 and head into 2021 with a new mindset. This book is inspirational and offers helpful steps which I will follow religiously (as I'm a very disciplined person) to clean eating and truly taking care of your body. It's time for me to take care of me for awhile. The information in this book isn't new to me but I appreciated how it was put together. Thanks for inspiring me Cristy and I will be logging in to the Code Red community as I break through and live my hard!
3 ish stars. Hard to rate. Yet another low carb plan. Lots of client testimonials (lots!). A few mentions of buying her plan. Lots of good things we all already know, but maybe we could stand to hear again. I listened to this on Audiobook, and the speech impediment and mispronunciations would have driven me crazy if I let them. Have a professional record your audiobooks, unless you have proper voice presentation. Still ... not a waste of time.
Loved this book! So refreshing to know one can lose weight by following a few rules and really changing how we view food....especially sugars! This is not a diet; it is a lifestyle to embrace for good health and weight loss. The testimonials were very inspiring and give hope that weight loss/healthy living is for everyone! I learned a lot about how our bodies work. I have also lost 5 pounds in the week that I read this book as I have started to follow the Code Red Lifestyle. Be a rebel!
Informative and influential. Chrisy tips the scales and dispels many myths about the food we eat. Fat-free is not necessarily good, and fats can be a good thing. This isn't another diet book, this is the opportunity to change your lifestyle. Well-written and interesting. The code red revolution has changed many lives for the better.
Who would have thought that eating fat would help one lose weight? Christy's book challenges most everything most have been taught about healthy eating and weight loss....and it works. Anyone wanting to eat heathier, be healthier, and lose weight will benefit from reading this book.
This is a positive ,uplifting, inspirational and educational book . Cristy cares about your health and we'll being. If your struggling with weight and have had enough then this is exactly what you need in your life.
Similar to every other diet book I've read. Rules, success stories. But add to it trash talk about other diet plans and people who sell diet products. Guess a book and coaching programs don't count to her.
Saw this diet from a few fb friends and was blown away. So I bought the book to get more info. It’s straight to the point of a legit diet with several success stories. Started the diet today- simple rules to follow it seems just sticking with it is key. Any diet with bacon- I’m game!
I am going to start this on Monday. I finished this book in 3 days, could hardly put it down. The more I read the more excited I got. If this works for me I will definitely share with everyone I know!
Like the "heal"thful approach to making a lifestyle change, not a "die"t to get through. Also, liked that it is individual based with ideas for changes. Change is based on self-awareness.
A lot better than most diet books because it wasn't selling a plan or a specific diet or a shake or anything - it just wanted you to eat real food. That's it. Solid base and easy read.
