He tells the fascinating medical history of hypnosis and shows readers, step by step, how to hypnotize themselves to relieve pain. This book includes the author’s own compelling story of his struggle with severe chronic pain and his victory over it to live a life full of joy and fulfillment.

A fine small book, that gives a good review of various pain relieving modalities, then a very practical and detailed set of instructions for how to self hypnotize, and means by which to use this gift to decrease perceived pain levels.
As a now retired family doc, I can certainly verify that I never was exposed to anything having to do with hypnosis, in fact it was rather a taboo subject. This book enables a practical, safe, effective, non-addictive, free and little appreciated means to the management of chronic pain, for which Dr. Ennis deserves much gratitude.
