The Chosen Ones #1

Charlie's Whiskey

Rate this book
Charlie Winstead pushes aside the pain and anguish she suffers daily and puts all her energy into her women's softball team, the Regulators. If only temporarily, the abuse bestowed upon her by her boyfriend halts for the time that she is behind the plate. Hensley has been her boyfriend for three years and the relationship progressed into a domestic nightmare. Realizing this, Charlie does what she needs to do to protect herself.

Whiskey Williams is a patched member of the Chosen Legion motorcycle club. He finds himself running from a dark and dirty past, looking for a new start. He relies on his brothers from the mother charter to help him. Once he arrives in Rudy, he sees Charlie and knows something has to be done to help her. However, seeing as she is fresh out of her abusive relationship, she wants nothing to do with men.

Will the attraction between the two be enough to make Charlie give the troubled biker a chance? Or will he strike out?

The game of love is not as easy as three up, three down.

I need Charlie to come to my house so I can just hold this poor girl! Another tear jerking read with the whole racing heart. Whiskey has his own furious demons in his past, but yet, he has decided to make Charlie his number one priority.

Charlie has lived thru pure hell for the last three years. She has masked everything that she has been dealing with. She finally decided enough is enough.

I really can not say another thing about this book because it would give way to much away and ruin your reading experience. So I will stop and let you find the love along with the horror of Whiskey and Charlie.

This is a must read!

I really liked Charlie, "fine, let's go talk to him so you can come back to hold me and give me my after-sex cuddles." I loved Whiskey the man cared about his woman, "I'll protect you from all the evil in the world, Charlie. From the time I met you on that porch till forever ends. I've got you." I liked this book.

I love biker books. The grit, violence and foul language make for an interesting escape from my regular everyday life. Charlie's Whiskey held promise, but it fell short in the areas that count for me.

This novel is slow to start. I did connect with the characters, but only after about a third of the way in. I would have liked a bit more of Charlie prior to leaving her first relationship, that would have made the story gritty and drawn me into the plight of the character more.

Whiskey and Charlie were likeable, and I enjoyed their banter. However, although the story had potential it was quite predictable and the action was somewhat repetitive.

This was my first book by this author, and I would like to read more of her work to see her style develop.

Absolutely loved this story. I think everyone can relate to Charlie in many ways. Strong and broken all at the same time. She is awesome! I had a hard time setting the book down in anticipation of what was coming next! We all need a little Whiskey in our life. I can't wait for the next book!

What a fabulous debut into the world of writing Harlow Brown has made with this terrific book!
From the very beginning the story grabs the reader's attention and continues to hold it throughput the book. This is a fast paced and smoothly executed storyline.
Charlie ends three years of misery with her complete douchebag boyfriend or she tries to! Briar and Jazz are her whole support until Whiskey comes along. As we get to know more about each character we meet some very interesting secondary characters that make you want to know them better as well.
I enjoyed the different moods throughout the story from serious to fearsome and jovial to plain laugh out loud fun, this made the story so real.
I am really looking forward to the next book!

This book was a great mix of genres. Sports cross with MC and a little suspense dropped in there. Charlie is a broken woman, having been beaten by her ex for years before she got the courage to leave. Enter Whiskey. He is a friend of her friends who is coming back to town. When he sees what Charlie has gone through, he does whatever he can to make her feel safe.

For me, I gave this 4 stars overall. 5 stars for originality, however I felt there was too much dialogue and the characters weren't what I was expecting but in saying that I did find myself caught up in Charlie's world.

I received and voluntary reviewed an ARC of this book. This book was read and reviewed by Stacy Aube for Cutting Muse Blog Review.

An intriguing debut from Harlow Brown. The devastation, retribution, and romance qualities make this a good read. Charlie is a truly amazing woman, a survivor. Combine her with Whiskey and you have a great couple who overcome so much.

This book will grab onto your heart right from the prologue and doesn't let go until the Charlie finally finds peace. It's a beautiful story of a fierce, but broken woman rediscovering love and seeking revenge against the man who kept her down for far too long.

I haven’t had a book impact me like Charlie’s Whiskey did, in a very long time. It’s incredible to me that this is a debut novel for author Harlow Brown, because I don’t think there is anything that could be improved on. This book tells the story of two very imperfect people finding perfect love.

Charlie has been trapped in a living hell for the past 3 years. Her once sweet boyfriend, now beats her, belittles her and rapes her regularly. She hasn’t been able to leave him, because he threatens to not only kill her, but to harm her best friend and teammates as well.

This man, Hensley, is a pitiful excuse for a man. The constant mental, physical and sexual abuse he doles out on Charlie is absolutely sickening. When Charlie snaps one night and shoots him mid-rape to make a hasty escape, she heads straight to her best friend Jazz.

Jazz and her boyfriend Briar are the closest thing Charlie has to family left. They have been through so much together and would do anything for each other. Briar and Jazz are shocked to hear what their best friend has been enduring to protect them over the past three years, but they vow to keep her safe and to offer her whatever protection or help she needs.

Briar is a member of The Chosen Ones, a local motorcycle club. He generally keeps his MC life pretty separate from his life with Jazz and Charlie, but in this dire situation he calls for help from his brothers.

One of Briar’s old friends is relocating from a different MC chapter and is coming to stay with Jazz, Briar and Charlie for a while. Whiskey is running from his own demons, but is determined to make amends for his past mistakes. Charlie brings him to his knees, literally, when they first meet, as Charlie is extremely skittish around male strangers, especially tough, burly ones who could easily overpower her. Whiskey however, goes out of his way to prove to Charlie that not only is he harmless and would like to be her friend, he would like to help her trust men again and show her that not all men are like her despicable ex.

Despite being surrounded by protection and well-meaning friends, Hensley keeps managing to get enough access to Charlie to terrorize her no matter where she tries to hide. He’s even taken away the safe haven of her ball diamond, now that he’s stalking her during her team practices. Charlie gives everything she has to her softball team. A legacy left by her father, she still feels a connection to him when she’s on the plate. Surrounded by her softball sisters she’s felt safe and loved, up until now.

Whiskey has had enough. He’s seen firsthand how Hensley tortures Charlie, and Whiskey is determined to get her far away from him. He has a run coming up for the MC and it’s near where her team is playing in the softball world series. Whiskey suggests a road trip and eventually Charlie is convinced.

Whiskey is respectful, loyal, sweet and protective of Charlie and although he’d love to have a sexual relationship with her someday, he knows that she isn’t ready yet. Right now she needs a friend she can trust and rely upon, not someone who’s just trying to get into her pants.

As the traveling duo get to know each other better and face the challenges of being on the run together, their friendship grows stronger and the sexual tension between them reaches a boiling point. Unable to fight their urges anymore, Charlie is eager to feel what it’s like to be desired and cherished in bed as opposed to being forced and controlled. She assures Whiskey that she’s ready and their sexual chemistry is off the charts hot!

Her physical scars and bruises are fading and her heart is starting to slowly heal and open itself to the possibility of love with Whiskey. What isn’t going away though, is the hatred and need for revenge that she feels towards Hensley. Charlie’s determined to make him suffer as much as possible, before she makes sure that he can never get near another woman again.

Will Charlie get the revenge she craves? How will Charlie react when she finds out what Whiskey’s running from? Will Whiskey and Charlie be able to bury their pasts and move towards a hopeful future? Can two very broken people fit together to make a whole heart?

This story made me feel all the feels. Rage, sadness, despair, shock, hope, love and even the occasional swoon.

Charlie’s Whiskey proves to us that family is not just blood, it’s who’s got your back.

Standalone. No cliffhanger. HEA.
Possible triggers: domestic abuse, rape, graphic violence.

Title: Charlie’s Whiskey
Author: Harlow Brown

4 unexpected stars

What a great debut novel by Harlow Brown that had me gasping in surprise and even sadness at all that Charlie has to endure. No woman should ever feel fear from their loved ones but as the abuse gets worst, Charlie finds more solace in her sport until the day that Charlie meets Whiskey, the attraction between them is instant, even powerful enough to make him want to take things slow considering how it went with her last relationship.

4 breath taking dreams

It was emotional and so very powerful to make you perk up in your seat and pay attention. You can’t help it since it’s just the way that Harlow Brown wrote her story; to keep you captivated and at the edge of your seat. I loved watching Charlie and Whiskey, how they interacted with one another, how they dealt with their feelings and how they dealt with the past. I can’t wait to see what else this author has in store for her readers, because one thing is certain, it can only get better as career unfolds.

Josie's Review

Let me start off by saying this book might have some triggers, so please keep that in mind. Charlie’s Whiskey brings a lot to the table. We have a female baseball player, MC , bad ass alpha biker and an abusive and dangerous ex. I’m not a huge fan of instant love but this author handles this in a different way and it really worked for me.

This book deals with a slew of emotions that a survivor of abused person would battle daily. I felt Charlie’s highs and lows throughout this book. Her character is clearly well researched and developed. Charlie would be a sassy, strong and valiant person one minute and the next scared, insecure and distant. Whiskey was everything a woman starting over after coming out of an abusive relationship would want and need. Here’s the thing the second Whiskey laid eyes on Charlie his natural instincts took over and told him she was his. Whiskey was not pushy. I think that’s what drew me to his character. He understood why she would experience so many confusing moments. He didn’t give up but stood his ground.

What I appreciated most was how the author didn’t overplay the MC life in this book. Yes I’m a huge MC book lover and the darker and grittier the better, but in this book there was just enough to keep me satisfied. With keeping the MC life to a minimal it let me focus more on the characters story. Whiskey and Charlie take the time to wade through their feelings and allow Charlie to truly heal. They both experienced pain on different levels but together they slowly. Whiskey was sent to keep Charlie safe from her ex of a nutso and boy was the dude wacko. Working through their feelings and guarding against a past hell bent on getting Charlie back, Whiskey and Charlie discover just how perfect they are together. But can feelings get in the way of keeping Charlie safe? Can Charlie truly let go of the past and look to a promise of a life with Whiskey?

Charlie’s Whiskey is a entertaining and promising read. I felt like I wasn’t left hanging and yes at times Charlie gave me whip lash but I liked her. Would I read another book from this author yes and I believe we might see a book 2 in this series. This book was not all tissues and heart pounding moments. I loved how the author incorporated baseball into this story and used it frequently. Bottom line take a chance on this book, it will not disappoint.

For three years, Charlie Winstead has been suffering abuse in silence, and not even her best friends know the nightmare she lives in. The only thing that keeps her going is playing softball on her women's team. Finally, Charlie has had enough of Hensley's abuse, and makes a stand. She ends up staying with her best friend, but Hensley refuses to let her go. Whiskey Williams is a patched member of the Chosen Legion MC, who battles demons of his own, but he is trying to make things right, when he shows up Rudy. The night he comes face to face with Charlie, he instantly knows that he has to help her, plus he feels a connection to the girl who wants nothing to do with men. As she quickly figures out that she can trust Whiskey, things begin to shift. However, Hensley isn't done yet, so will Whiskey be able to keep Charlie safe?

Charlie's Whiskey is a story that I devoured cover to cover, as I enjoyed it a lot! The fast paced storyline had my heart racing, my stomach hurting from laughing at Charlie's way with words, and hot flashing from the STEAMY sexy scene goodness. Not to mention that the colorful cast of secondaries gave me entertainment all on their own. Harlow Brown has a talented writing style that had me fully invested from the beginning, and her twists made for great, and loud f-bomb dropping moments. There were just a few things that kept it from being a perfect rating for me, for example, the ending feeling a bit rushed. However since this story is her debut novel, I'm excited to see her evolve, and cannot wait to read more in this series. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

When I first saw this book the cover immediately captivated me so I didn’t even read the synopsis before starting the book. Sometimes this method works not so much with this book. This case teaches me not to expect miracles just judging by a pretty and inviting picture. I don’t usually give such a low rating only for books I can’t bear to finish but this story just didn’t agree with me even if I fought myself through it.

The bare bones, the idea behind the plot has it merits and potential but everything else in it is chaotic and not really believable. What bothered me the most was the feeling the writing style caused in me. In my opinion the writing style is extremely aggressive and forcefully tries to make me think certain things about the characters and the plot it didn’t let me make my own conclusions. It presented everything as a fact there is not the slightest room for open interpretation or just for your own opinion. Plus there is an insane amount of word to word repetition in the book.
Then there is the main character Charlie whom I just couldn’t identify with the scared abuse victim she was supposed to portray. Her reactions, her mannerism even her feelings were just not genuine enough for me. She is so detached thorough the whole story for her to became a maniac at the end. For me her personality and the character she represented clashed, didn’t go together. But her character is not the only barley authentic character in the story.

The love story is an insta-love on wrap speed; Whiskey and Charlie go from total strangers to soul mates that can’t live without each other in the span of a couple of day.

My opinion about the book is: raw unpolished writing style with a rushed pot, insta-love and a lot of out of the blue events spiced up with immature conversations. The characters don’t have too much depth but do a lot of soul searching and heart to heart. Maybe I had high expectations for it or just wasn’t in the right mindset but in the end I didn’t like it at all.

I’ve read a lot of books in my time, but I don’t think there’s been another book that has totally drawn me in the way this one did!! For a debut book, it’s phenomenal! The raw passion and emotion that is pulled out of you and then put into that book was intense! I loved every page and I will be reading more in the future!! Great job… definitely worth the one click!

Triggers!

*IF YOU HAVE SEVERE TRIGGERS WITH ASSAULT OR ANYTHING RELATED DO NOT READ FURTHER*

I am still wiping my face from tears from Charlie's story. Get your tissues ready before diving into this book.

Okay let's get real...I almost put this down and didn't finish, yep true story! It was so fast paced and just kind of out there for me in the way the story line was going but for the hell of it I kept going because I was intrigued mainly.

Abuse in any form is never ever okay no matter what. This book touches a topic that just opens your eyes because it is so truthful. It's one of those books that has you wondering what is gonna happen while your away, trust me.

Whiskey is the damaged broken person himself but comes when he is needed the most he just doesn't know it at the time and the life he brings with him is how I knew I needed to keep reading.

I am stoked to know more books are coming from this book cause I honestly need to know more about Fury and Magnum but mostly about the other girls in Charlie's life that she considers sisters.

I call dibs especially on Magnum and Fury since I have it bad for mouthy alphas but also the quiet brooding types.

So when Rumor and Fury's book comes I will devour it without a doubt.

when you combine a shattered girl, love, softball, a MC club and mouthy hot alphas it is bound to be amazing!

Great read from a debut author who I'm looking forward to reading more from. Charlie is a young woman who has been through the ringer and after finally being fed up she leaves an abusive relationship and find solace in two of her best friends Jazz and Briar who never knew just what she was going through and her women's baseball team the Regulators . Briar is a member of Chosen Legions MC and decides to get some help from his brothers, one brother in particular. Whiskey who's running from his own demons hits town and while visiting Briar who informs him of Charlie's situation takes it upon himself to be her protector because for some inexplicable reason he's drawn to her. These two come together under the most exteneous circumstances but you can see the feelings developing between the pair and its beautiful. I must say this book was well written and wonderfully told and I recommend it tremendously.

Fantastic debut novel about Charlie who has escaped an abusive relationship and Whiskey a tough biker with issues of his own. I must say I was thrown in the middle of the book when Charlie did an about face from a scared bruised young woman to a tough revengeful chick.

This is Charlie's and Whiskey's journey of discovering love and letting go the past.

The story line was excellent and well paced and all the characters intriguing. Love some and love to hate others. The beginning of the book certainly gave me the feels.

Charlie Winstead has had enough of being abused by her boyfriend, Hensley, and she finally gets up the courage to leave. She had been hiding the abuse for three years but she finally gets up the nerve to tell her best friends Jazz and Briar. Briar is shocked by what he learns and relies on his brothers with the Chosen Legion MC to help keep Charlie safe.
Whiskey is starting a new chapter in his life after some events in his past make him doubt the man he is. He volunteers to help Briar keep Charlie safe when he learns what she is going through.
As Charlie and Whiskey deal with Hensley the two become closer but will either Charlie or Whiskey be willing to give love another chance after everything they both have been through? Will Whiskey be able to keep Charlie safe?
This was such a good book and I was hooked from start to end.
I thought Charlie was such a great character and I hate when women feel so trapped and embarrassed living in abusive relationships. It is so common and I love this topic being written about as maybe it will give one woman the strength to leave. I was so happy when she confessed to Jazz and Briar what was going on and I loved that he got help.
Whiskey was such a wonderful character and I hated that he was living with the guilt that he was. I loved how he and Charlie formed a friendship initially where they shared their respective pasts and then came together to get stronger. The chemistry between them was intense but it was still gradual and began on trust.
I hated Hensley and he was so cruel for what he did to Charlie. I was even more shocked as the book went on about everything he did and had done. I definitely was not expecting the stuff that was revealed!
I was a little shocked at Charlie wanting revenge and how much of she needed. I really wasn’t expecting that but I did understand that it was probably one of the only ways she could reclaim her life back.
The very end was great and I look forward to more in this series! - By Rebecca

I’m a bit on the fence with this one. It is a new author so I didn’t know what to expect and it was a decent length story. Charlie has been in an abusive relationship for the past 3 years. And finally she is ready to get out, but her ex is not ready to let her go. Luckily she has good friends that will do anything to keep her safe.

Jazz and her boyfriend Briar are the closest thing Charlie has to family left after her parents were killed in a car accident. Briar and Jazz had no clue what has happening to Charlie, but now that they do, they will keep her safe and protect her.

Briar just happens to be a member of The Chosen Ones, a local motorcycle club. He generally keeps his MC life pretty separate from his life with Jazz and Charlie, but he knows he needs help to keep her safe. Just so happens that Whiskey is returning to town and is looking for a fresh start and joins Briar to keep Charlie safe. But will Charlie be able to trust this new man who has his own dark past?

So this is the point that the story had a bit of issue for me. Immediately Charlie is untrusting of Whiskey and won’t even let him hug her. Then suddenly they are sleeping in the same room together. It was a 180 degree shift in a matter of a day.

Overall I enjoyed Charlie and Whiskey’s story and loved their connection although at times things did not make perfect sense to me. A good first book!

Charlie's Whiskey is the debut story for Harlow Brown. It was a story of "abuse" at the hands of Hensley toward the fierce, baseball player known as Charlie. This continued for three years until Charlie was strong enough to stand up for herself and say enough is enough. Her journey and road to recovery from this was a difficult one but with the help of Whiskey Williams, a hot, sexy biker who was part of a club, her healing and her heart would soon be mended. Both Charlie and Whiskey have their share of troubled pasts which trickled into their present with many upheavals and battles to be fought.

This was an adventurous story full of suspense, drama, action packed and yes some down right hot sex involved. Charlie and Whiskey's relationship quickly developed to the point where it was almost "too quick" and because of that I had a bit of trouble connecting to the characters. They grew on me as the story progressed especially how Whiskey fought for Charlie through all her hurt and demons. It started off a bit slow in a sense and I almost found myself wondering where this was going. The second half of the book really picked up full of intrigue, twists and surprises but most of all revelations were made to allow us to understand the premise of the story.

I appreciated the fact that it was told in both Charlie's and Whiskey's point of view as you get a better sense and understanding of the story. I felt I could relate more to the characters as it was presented this way. I enjoyed how we saw the characters develop with each other, for each other and on their own.

I commend Harlow Brown for tackling this topic and making us aware that there is help and many resources out there to overcome and work through these difficult situations.

I was asked to read this book for an honest and unbiased review by the author. I borrowed it myself with KU. This is Harlow's debut novel.

Charlie has lived in hell for the past three years and finally gets the strength she needs to leave. In doing so she makes Hensley mad and sets a chain of events into motion. I have to say I wasn't a big fan of Charlie, the girl gave me some serious whiplash with her mood swings and while I know survivors of abuse all deal with things differently she was just too much of a bitch at times for me.

Whiskey hasn't had things easy either, he moves back to Rudy to leave some of his demons behind and ends up falling in love with Charlie. I liked Whiskey somewhat but there were times where I thought he was too easily pushed around, he wasn't meant to be this badass biker yet he let Charlie speak to him like shit at times.

While I know this book is fiction I like things to have a somewhat realistic tone to them and I have to say I didn't get that with this book! The fact that Charlie was so damaged at the start and then all of a sudden was able to jump straight into another relationship is something I doubt would ever happen when someone was that deeply scarred. I could understand if it had been a few months or years but for me the timeline was to quick. As was the falling in love, insta love sometimes but again I just didn't feel like it fit in right with this storyline.

Charlie's Whiskey gave me some good feels. Charlie went through some very harrowing things for 3 years. Now on track to get her life back together, she finds peace, protection, and solace in the last place that she thought she would find it, a big bad biker.

Only looking to get back on her feet and away from her abuser, Charlie turns to her best friends, Jazz and Briar. An unexpected visitor fills a hole she has had in her heart. Charlie fights against her demons and lets Whiskey in. He may just be the balm her soul needs. Unbeknownst to Charlie, she is the light in Whiskey's dark world. Now that they have found each other. Whiskey will protect her with everything that he is.

I truly enjoyed this book. I love MC books and Charlie's Whiskey gives us a good glimpse into the brotherhood of an MC. Although it is brief, the characters that make up Whiskey's family add a great layer to the story. I loved each and every character, well except for the disgusting ex, but every other character was FAB! Charlie's character was so strong, sassy, and funny. Nothing could keep her down. She held her own with Whiskey and his brothers. Whiskey was a great complimentary character and had a warm spot in my heart. I cannot wait to see if the other characters get their own stories. Loved it!

Harlow Brown’s debut book is WOW worthy and a must read for MC, sports and hot guy readers all around. The story of Charlie Winstead is a tragic one but she always finds a way to escape through her women’s softball team, the Regulators, when she finally has had enough abuse from her longtime boyfriend she begins to fight back. She finally tells her secrets to her two best friends, Briar and Jazz, they are really the only family she has left. Briar who is a member of a MC, the Chosen Legion, calls in an old friend, Whiskey, to help him move all of Charlie’s items to a new place where she will be safe from her abusive ex-boyfriend, Hensley. When Charlie first encounters Whiskey they seem to butt heads but Whiskey soon realize that Charlie is just recovering and soon he feels an overwhelming need to protect her. This is a feeling Whiskey has never felt before and it’s just as foreign a feeling for him; as trusting another man is for Charlie. They both have so many secrets they are both hiding that they are bound to flee in the opposite direction of each other. But their secrets seem to have an opposite effect on each other, once they let go of the secrets they begin to grow closer. But lots of outside interference seems to try to drag them down.
Read Charlie’s Whiskey as they try to maneuver around their past and build a future for themselves.
Charlie’s softball team also plays a major role in helping her with all her relationship and life problems. So, I can’t wait to read Ms. Brown’s next book where she can delve into the lives of the softball team; Raige, Rumor, Haze and Gypsy.

Charlie has had a rough go the past couple of years, the past 3 to be more exact. She decides that enough is enough, and leaves. With her best friends standing behind her, she is going to move on, she has her softball, her friends, she doesn't need any man. Then Whiskey comes onto the scene. Having left the TX chapter of the MC club he belongs to, he is back here to start life a new, and forget about the past. The moment he sees Charlie, is a moment that will change his world. But is Charlie too damaged from her previous relationship? Will she learn to trust another man? Can the two make a relationship at forever work? and more importantly will the ex d-bag ever go away?

So I feel like maybe I read something that others didn't. I didn't really like Charlie, she was a complete contradiction. A hot abused mess one second, and then fierce warrior princess the next? Can't have it both ways. Whiskey was ok as a lead character having to move on from his past..... actions. I felt that the insta-love between them was, well too insta. This was an ok read, I had to seriously stretch this to get to 3.5 stars.

Charlie has been living in fear for the last three years due to her abusive boyfriend, Henley. When she thinks about leaving she remembers his threat that he would kill her and her friends so she stays much longer than she should until the night she stands up for herself and flees. She ends up at Jazz and Briar’s place, her best friend and her boyfriend, and when she tells them what is going they offer to keep her safe. Briar is part of the Chosen Ones MC and he enlists the help of Whiskey, a fellow brother, to protect her. Whiskey moves slowly to earn Charlie’s trust but when Henley starts stalking her he suggest that she come with him on a road trip with him to her next game. As they spend time together they become close and for the first time in a long time she knows what it feels like to be wanted not abused. With the threat of Henley still looming over them is there any way for them to be happy or must they take matters in their own hands? This is a wonderful story of a woman taking her life back and it will definitely touch you in some way. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book.

Wow this was an amazing book from the beginning to the end. This was an amazing first book by Harlow. It is extremely well written with great plot, character chemistry and full of emotions. This book is all about Charlie. A girl that has gone through so very much in the last three years far more than any girl should have to go through. But throughout this book it shows exactly how strong she really is and how she wont let anyone take her down. I fell in love with Charlie right from the beginning. I wanted to crawl into the book and just hold her. Noone should have to ever go through what she did. I guarantee this book will affect you in more than one way, if it doesnt seriously you have no heart.
Whiskey comes into Charlie's life at just the right time. When she least expected it and really doesnt want him there. But he is someone that can be a friend when she really doesnt want another one and show her what there is to life.I absolutely love Whiskey. Not only is he a bad biker alpha male but Charlie pulls out the soft side of him that you absolutely fall in love with.
I freaking absolutely enjoyed reading this book. It had me hooked with its gripping storyline right from the beginning. Highly recommend reading this book. I cant wait to be able to read more from this amazing author.

Let me tell you what I liked about this story. First of all I love MC books and Whiskey did not disappoint with his bad sexy self. He is a character that is not afraid to help someone down and out. It doesn't hurt that he is hot (wink wink). Now let me tell you about Charlie. She is a bit of a contradiction in the fact that she is tough talking/acting baseball player but has been in an abusive relationship for several years. I loved her friends and the people she aligns herself with. Some of my favorite parts of the story is her interactions with them. I guess the question that I had is would a woman being battered really be as touch as this character. I don't know but it gave me pause in this story. Overall I felt this book was good and if you like survivor stories mixed in with some steaminess then this might be the one for you. Happy Reading!!!

This book had me on the edge of my seat pretty much throughout it. Charlie's Whiskey takes sports and hot bikers and adds them all together to make a great combination that I absolutely enjoyed! This story is so much more than the blurb. Charlie is this feisty heroine who is trying to bring herself back from the hell she has endured the past several years and Whiskey is this hero that is instantly drawn to her and wants to do whatever it takes to help her. He has past demons as well but when he is around his brothers and Charlie, he feels none of that pain.

Take a chance on this book, you won't be dissapointed.
