Havenwood Falls #8

Lose You Not

Rate this book
The sequel to Forget You Not, this full-length novel continues the story of Michaela and Xandru—because finding someone means you can lose them again.

With her past memories mostly restored, Michaela Petran begins to pick up the pieces and resettle into life in Havenwood Falls. But resuming where she left off with the man she loves and the plans they’d made is no simple matter. As sudden head of the family and leader of the moroi vampires, she faces an onslaught of unexpected obligations, making her feel like she has no choices in her own life. And even if she could have everything she wants, she can’t help but fear it’ll all be ripped away from her once again.

For five years, Xandru Roca ached for Michaela to return, but never believed it would actually happen. Now that he has a second chance with her, he’s afraid he’ll blow it by hanging on too tightly. But if he’s not careful, she might again vanish from his life.

As they try to bridge the chasm between them, family matters demand their attention, pulling them apart. After all, there’s still a strigoi curse, dictates of the supernatural Court, and dark magic wreaking havoc on their siblings. Family and love always come first, but while they try to save one, they risk losing the other.

This is a paranormal romance in the Havenwood Falls series of New Adult and Adult fantasy novellas featuring a variety of supernatural creatures. The series is a collaborative effort by multiple authors. Each book is generally a stand-alone, so you can read them in any order, although some authors will be writing sequels to their own stories. Please be aware when you choose your next read. We do recommend that you read Forget You Not first as an introduction to the town and its eccentricities. We especially recommend you read it before reading Lose You Not.

I really enjoyed this first full length novel set in the Havenwood Falls world. Vampires, dark magic, curses and butt pinching ghosts, will keep you enthralled in this exciting story. You can not help but fall for these characters as the strive to overcome obstacles, secrets and darkness in order to save their friends and family. I loved the underlying loyalty and love ingrained in this story and I can not wait to read more stories about the Petran’s and Roca’s, especially if it involves Tase and Addie. Even though this story follows on from “Forget You Not,” it is still written clearly enough to be read as a stand-alone, but you would get much more from it if you read the novella first.

Continuation of Kristie Cook Forget You Not is simply incredible. Darn tears! Loved it all! I love when a book takes you on a roller coaster ride of emotions. Kaela and Xandru have a conflicted relationship along with troubles that comes their way. You have the good, bad, ugly, sweet, heartbreaking...you name it, it's there! Kristie Cook has become one of my favorite authors. Her writing is incredible! Definitely check this one out and if you need more books, she definitely has an array of them you won't be disappointed in.

Ancient curses, family secrets and bottom pinching ghosts, what more can you ask for from a badass vampire story?
These characters captured my heart early on and I've craved a full length novel for Michalea and Xandru since Forget You Not.
Michalea and Xandru not only have to find each other and get to know each other all over again, they must also overcome the obstacles thrown at them from the people closest to them. They really have to fight for their HEA. Even vampires have relationships struggles, who knew?
I love that there is still more to come from these characters and I'm itching to get my hands on Addie and Tase, please don't let it be long.

Good book

This book is a continuation of Michaela and Xandru's story from the first Havenwood Falls book. Although they have revived their relationship, things keep happening to keep them apart that is out of their control.

There are the issues with Xandru's brother and Michaela has her own family issues to deal with. Can the two overcome the obstacles constantly being placed in their path?

Lose You Not is A Havenwood Falls Novel and the sequel to Forget You Not by Kristie Cook.

Michaela Petran is a vampire as is Xandru Roca. Although from warring families they are in love and are back together after a 5-year separation. Both have obligations to their families that make their time together nearly impossible. When the proverbial hits the fan though they need to pull together in order to save the lives of both of their brothers. Will one or both brothers end up dying? How will Michaela and Xandru's relationship stand the loss of a loved one?

The blurb of this book tells you a lot about the book, so I needn't write too much more about that. What I need to say though is that the story is engrossing, so full of all things supernatural and with a desperate fight between good and evil. There was some laugh out loud moments right from the start which told me that the book was going to be my cup of tea. It's great to have a book that could be quite dark, that can still have parts that make you smile or laugh. Watching Michaela coming to terms with her new responsibilities while trying to have a relationship, and then having to try to save her brother at the possible cost of Xandru's brother grabbed me by the heartstrings. I couldn't see how their love could survive all that they had to face. I was hooked from the very first page of this story and couldn't read it quickly enough to find out how it would end.

Forget You Not, the first book in the Havenwood Falls series and the prequel to this story was a great read, and I gave it a 4-star review. This story was the exciting climax of the first book and definitely earns a 5-star rating from me.

This is the first full length novel in this series and it did not disappoint. This is the sequel to Forget You Not and this book picks up right where the first one left off. If you remember this is the story of Michaela and Xandru. Their story is unique and needs to be told which in the sequel it is definitely told. This book made me feel for them a number of times. There were places in this book that my heart dropped for them and there was places in this book where I also was feeling the same way Michaela did. Each time I read one of these book it makes me feel more of a part of Havenwood Falls. With the way these authors write it sort of takes you inside of the town limits and then they make you feel like you are right there with the characters. Kristie Cook is an awesome writer and of course she nailed this story. As I was reading this book I was into it from the first page. Then my Kindle died and had to finish it today. When my kindle died I felt like I was ripped out of a very good dream and left lingering until I could get back into it. This book deserves a 5-star rating. It was that good. I encourage you to get lost into the world of Havenwood Falls and Havenwood Falls High. I promise you won't be disappointed.

Now with Forget You Not, we were introduced not only to the world of Havenwood Falls, but also to Michaela and Xandru.  Well, in relation to those two, it was more of a teasing look into their story.

But here?  Here, we have a fuller, more complete dive into their relationship, such as it is.  The tension between trying to carve out some time for each other, balanced against the competing demands from work and family.

And that friction bleeds through the narrative.  The desire to be closer; the frustration at not being able to.

Skillfully written (as always), this is a wonderful addition to the wider series, but also satisfied my wish for more from these two. The plot doesn't take a back seat to the relationship story, and the inevitable dramatic climax was an unexpected twist.

Linking in characters from the other stories also solidifies the connection to the Havenwood Falls world.

In short - a great addition to my kindle library.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

As always Kristie Coom delivers. This book follows the charqcters you first meet in a novella ritled Forget You Not. The book can stand alone or be read in order and the reader wil find themselves drawn in either way. The plot develops well and at no point did I feel like the story was taking too long to progress or like it was just going nowhere. The writing is fantastic, and the concept of Havenwood Falls is so neat. I have yet to read q book by Kristie Cook that I did not thoroughly enjoy to the pointmof rereading multiple times. I enjoy her books so much that I am a member of the advanced readers group, so I received an advanced copy of the book directly from the author in exchange for my review, but if I did not I would still have been very happy with the story especially the way it seemed to flow. The end leaves you a clliff hanger and all I xan saymis I hope Kristie is back at it and writing the mext one because I need more!

Another trip into Havenwood Falls and Kristie Cook did not disappoint! I didn’t think that the story of Michaela and Xandru could get any better but it did in Lose You Not!

The timeline in Lose You Not picks up not too long after the end of the first story. We learn more about Michaela and Xandru’s relationship and we get a lot more back story on other characters such as Michaela’s brother and sister. I love that Sindi was in this story too!

One of my favorite things in this story is how many characters from pervious HWF books Kristie incorporated! There were so many! I also loved that we got to see another side to Tase. I’ll definitely be looking forward to more on Tase and Addie’s story.

This first full length novel in the Havenwood Falls world was amazing and left me completely satisfied! I highly recommend everyone reading it! It’s in my top two favorites of all the Havenwood Falls books!

Sequel to Forget You Not is a winning addition the the Havenwood Falls Series!!!!

Lose You Not

This sequel to Kristie Cooks first installment carries on with the storytelling that I have come to expect not only from a Kristie, but surprisingly, from all of the collaborating authors to this unique series. This full length addition continues the story of Michaela and Xandru as they find that simply reconnecting and rediscovering their love may not be as simple as they hoped. Being moroi vampires, caring for younger and older siblings, businesses and curses has a way of crimping their romantic plans. Can these two find their way back to each other again while still protecting their families??? You definitely don't want to miss out on this book, but don't take my word for it, read it!!!!

As part of Kristie Cooks Review Crew I was privileged to be able to read Lose You Not as an advance review copy.

Lose You Not picks up on the events which began with Forget You Not, blends in other strands and characters from the Havenwood novellas and delivers a gripping read from beginning to end.

In my opinion Kristie Cook is one of the absolute best New Adult paranormal romance & contemporary fantasy authors around, and as with all the Havenwood Falls series Lose You Not leaves you both satisfied in its role as a sequel to one part of the Havenwood story and still wanting more books to join the series.

I truly hope we get to hear yet more from can't Michaela, Xandru, the Roca’s and Petran’s.

Another great story in the Havenwood Falls series.
I love these stories and this little supernatural town.
Lose you Not is a full length novel continuing Michaela and Xandru’s story. Michaela is slowly regaining her memories of her life in Havenwood Falls and her feelings for Xandru. She is struggling with suddenly being the head of her small family and the leader of the moroi vampires.
Xandru has yearned for Michaela for 5 years and now that she has returned, he wants to pick up where they left off. But as anyone knows with time, things change, and these two must figure out what is important and how to balance life, family, and responsibility and find the time to find themselves.
This story was very entertaining and fast read. Can’t wait for the next authors set of characters.

Lose You Not follows the story from Forget You Not, which was the book that started it all for Havenwood Falls. This is my favorite book in this collection of books thus far. It's a well developed story that stays true to the characters from Forget You Not. This book reminds readers time and again of what it means to be a family. This is taken in a variety of forms from meddling brothers to older sisters just trying to look after their rebellious younger siblings in the wake of the loss of parents. Highly recommended not only for fans of the series but also those looking for a book featuring a new take on moroi, strigoi, and dark magic.

So great! I have been reading the entire series and I love how other stories from the series are mentioned. It also helps with the timeline when other events happen. I love how everything is developing in the series. You get to learn more about specific characters and understand them more. This another great addition to the series and I can't wait for more. I did receive this ARC for an honest review. I just hope this story line leads into Addie's story. Can't wait to read more of her character.

Wow..Excellent Read

This book has a little bit of everything to take you on a wonderful ride thru the lives of the people of Havenwood Falls. This is another page turning while you are wondering what is going to happen, are things going to get worse or better. Secrets and lies, just what the town is full of, but it's not suppose to happen between lovers.

It has to be hard trying to protect everyone and have to lie to the one that you love. Can everyone become happy in the end and what secrets still lie in this mysterious town.

Until Next Time..... Tabi

Michaela and Xandru, what can I say. Luck is never on their side. There was so much in this. Let's start with the obvious family feud, we learned about the Roca and Petrin's feud in Forget You Not and it continued here. Then add in the stress of renovations, teen and preteen siblings, lack of communication, artifacts, curses, aaaaahhhhh. Loved every minute of this journey!

Heading back into Havenwood Falls for more Michaela and Xandru. These two are still trying to find they way back to each other after years apart, but things just refuse to go their way. From meddling brothers, to some dark magic things just keep getting in between these two. However nothing stops you form fighting for your family! Especially for Xandru. Love these two and how they pulled together when things got to the breaking point. Can't wait to see what happens next in Havenwood Falls!

I was given this book for my honest unbiased review. Lose You Not bring back Michaela and Xandru story. This book brought a lot of different emotions and the way it unfolded was really amazing. The way the plot unfolded and the twist in the way the story unfolded I found was great. I really enjoyed how Michaela and Xandru story unfold with other characters in the twin of Havenwood Falls brought together how things unfolded along the way.

I loved this follow up story! Xandru and Kaela became favorites from the get go. Like Kaela, I fell in love with Dru's eyes and could not stop thinking about him when I read Forget You Not. Now, for this follow up novel, we get to meet him better and even though he is wonderfully imperfect it just makes him even more perfect.

Kaela is struggling to once again become involved, and fit into, small town life. While doing it, I love to see her struggling, I love to see her being strong while doing so like it happens to many of us. It just makes her much more relatable.

Lose You Not is full of love, loyalty, lies, and suspense. Perfect follow up.

As with it's predecessor this book lives up to the author's true ability to write. In lengthening the story of Kaelin and Xandru from the earlier novella, the story becomes full blown and takes us to places we only are aware of in the author's fantastic imagination. Lose You Not brings our lovers full circle with all the ups and downs in between.

Wonderful continuation of the story of these characters. There is a lot going on for their families. There are a lot of Havenwood falls residents present in this part of the story, and I thought it was neat that other stories in the series are shown to be occurring at the same time. As always, great plot and characters.

I loved this follow up to “Forget You Not” and subsequently this addition to Havenwood Falls. Even better, it was a full length novel. Just so well written. I get the angst of the characters and became increasingly invested in what happened. Loved this book so much!!
