I have been a writer from the time I was old enough to recognise that reading was a doorway into my imagination. Poetry was my first foray into the art of the written word. Books were my best friends, my escape, my haven. I am essentially a recluse but this part of my personality is impossible to practise given I have two teenage daughters, who are actually my friends, my tea-makers, my confidantes...

My heart is currently broken in two. One half resides in South Africa where my old roots still remain, and my heart still longs for the endless beaches and the smell of moist soil after a summer downpour. My love for Ma Afrika will never fade. The other half of me has been transplanted to the Land of the Long White Cloud. The land of the Taniwha, beautiful Maraes, and volcanoes. The land of green, pure beauty that truly inspires. And because I am so torn between these two lands - I shall forever remain crosseyed.

I love talking to my readers so email me if you have any questions or even if you just want to chat...

Fate's Edge: A SkinWalker Novel #6: A DarkWorld Series (DarkWorld: SkinWalker)

I just love ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ T.G. Ayer.. her books always amaze me, and I always have to read them twice, the first time I read them because I need to know everything that is going on and the 2nd time I read them is to make sure I didn’t miss anything the 1st time....
this book was incredible, Kai and all her family and friends are amazing as always... and the way they help each other is just priceless, makes me wish I was part of their elite team, except for the MEAN PEOPLE and each page filled with adventure!!! I just couldn’t put my kindle down..
I cannot wait for the next book, I hope it will not be to long... I am eagerly going to wait to see what happens between Logan and Kai... looking 👀 for some HEA...

Definitely recommend this series!!!

You'd think that after all the hardships Kai and her friends have faced, they would have some time for much needed rest & relaxation.. hell.. some healing would be nice! But nope... it seems the Shadowmen are stepping up their game, an FBI dossier concerning shifters and supes in general has been leaked and found its way into the hands of a reporter and yeah, Logan is still unconscious albeit doing better now that Sienna is there to help him cope with his DragonFyr.
Being kidnapped, beaten up and charged with murder... things are really starting to get annoying.

My take on the book:

I read it in one go... couldn't stop, needed to know! SERIOUSLY???

Ahem.. on with the rest of my review:

This instalment takes place over only a couple of days in our world, so no world hopping this time.
The characters and conversations were on par and excellent. We get closer and closer to the group of Ni'amh being aware of who they are and the parts they play... unfortunately they aren't the only ones and the bad guys seem to know every little detail and are always one step ahead of our heroes... its annoying! :)

The pacing and flow of the book were great, making this an easy and pretty fast read. The action wasn't over the top nor was there an overdose of mushiness.
It was a shame however that we didn't see more of our newest edition in this book, I hope that she gets more book time in the next instalment!

And now for some slightly negative point to the whole series: it just seems that Kai always ends up doing everything herself and doesn't have a lot of scars to show for it (yes.. I know these books are about her, but still!). Damn shifters! While I know she gets beaten up, kidnapped, electrocuted etc etc.. sometimes its just weird and perhaps not fully normal that even if she heals physically she is still in one piece mentally.

I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book and so hooked to this great world the author created!! Fans of shifters, supes and kickass heroines... you should really be reading this series.

“We’re all on a journey, dear. Some of us have journeys that are far more important than the rest of us.”
As far as Kai is concerned, that’s an understatement. Fate’s Edge continues Kai Odel’s journey as she battles forces who are trying to kill or capture her at every turn. She is kidnapped, shot, rescued by a being who shouldn’t exist, grievously injured, framed for a double homicide, betrayed and abandoned...all as she tries to learn more about the prophecy of the Ni’amh.
This sixth installment of the Dark World Series moves the story along as Kai draws closer to some of the women who share her fate, brings allies closer and eliminates some persistent enemies. Author T.G. Ayer writes beautifully and continues to add new elements to this epic story. We’ve come to know and love these characters, to revel in their triumphs and cry at their heartaches and losses. It’s a great world and the story has so much more to come. Can’t wait for the next one.
I received a complimentary copy from the author.

This is book 6 in the SkinWalker series, and sees Kai facing lots of challenges - from waking up in a coffin at the start of the book, to having a human stalker who knows way too much about Walkers, from letters from the Council threatening her with death for cohabiting with a human, to then ending up arrested on charges of murder!! And throughout it all, Logan is still not awake... Until near the end of the book. How will she deal with these issues, and what will happen when Logan wakes up?
I really enjoyed this book, though at times it was a little hard to keep track of everything that was happening! I was also a bit disappointed that we didn't see Kai's rescuer from the coffin again (she strikes me as a kick-a$$ woman, just the type to be friends with Kai!), though I'm sure we will in future. However, it's a good book and I'd definitely recommend it to all SkinWalker fans. Can't wait for the next book!
NB I received a complimentary copy of this book, but I always give an HONEST review based wholly on my own opinions

Being a strong woman has its down side when you feel weak

Waking up in s stone coffin what the hell using all her strength Kai tried to rock it then like a miracle Evie took the lid off and saved the day, that was the start the text of the book is a rough ride up and down Kai finds out Jones is trying to capture shifters to experiment on them, Lily is going through tests administered by Kai’s dad to make her shift as she is pariah her mom seems to have disappeared again and Logan has woken and knows who he is now with his twin Sienna and Kai knows they have to go back to Drakys to take the throne and make things right then there’s the council who appears to be trying to get rid of Kai and all the Odels alpha family Kai is charged with double murder and escapes and managed to get captured again. Thus us such a busy story but so exciting. I recommend it as a good read not to be missed nothing weak here

I'm not really sure what I can say about this one that hasn't either been said by other reviews on this book, or that I haven't already said on every other book by T.G. Ayer, but here goes... Don't read this book when you know you won't have time to sit down and devour it. Once you start you won't want to put it down, and you might end up yelling at family members if they try to disturb you. Yeah, that is exactly what happened, and I'm not ashamed to say it. This book, like the rest in the series, is so jammed packed with action, excitement, so many surprises, and emotional upheaval that I sat on the edge of my seat and didn't feel like I took a full breath until the end. If you haven't started this series, I highly recommend that you do. It is absolutely FANTASTIC!

T.G. Ayer is a a favorite author of mine, and Fate's Edge, book 6 in her DarkWorld: SkinWalker is a perfect example of why that is so.

Yes, Kai Odel is missing Logan massively, but she has other little issues to deal with like avoiding being beheaded for a crime she didn’t commit. Poor Kai is on the run while desperately trying to clear her name in another thrilling and action-packed wonder of a book. I’m not going to say more, except perhaps that Logan’s story is still tied up in things. This is a wonderfully written story with a great plot and fantastic lead and supporting characters. For fellow SkinWalker addicts, this gives you exactly what you wanted (needed). For newcomers, yes you can read this one standalone (subject to my caveat below) but really you are missing out vastly not starting off with book 1 so I urge you to start there.

One caveat / reader’s tip: this author likes to put teasers at the end of her books. They’re not really cliffhangers because the book story line is fully concluded. Rather they’re things designed to get you to salivate with a desire to read the next book ... which is not available. If you don’t like that and want to avid it here then stop reading at the bottom of the second to last page stop at the point where Gran’s says “Hello, dear. You did well today”. The last half page is pure teaser and not needed for this story. (Apologies TG Ayer for giving this away, but at least I don’t think that’s really a spoiler!)

Another fantastic read!! I really don't know how the author does it, but my oh my is it great! This being the sixth book it is still if not more riveting than the first. The artistic way the story is written, the characters, the plot and the action just flow so well it isn't hard to fall into a reading frenzy, one problem is, I have to wait for the next book for more. If you are a fan of the urban fantasy genre this is absolutely the series for you!!

(I received this book free as an Advanced reader copy. )

This book was a rollercoaster ride from start to finish! Both action, story & relationship wise and emotionally!

T.G. Ayer writes characters that jump off the page in amazing worlds and setting that you just fall for. You definitely develop favorite and I have become quite invested over the last 5 books!

Read it if you have read the first 5 of this series and at least the first 5 if the Tracker Series .. are you behind? Time to get reading!

This is a great series and it keeps getting better. Accused of a crime, the search for the truth to clear her name, hiding from the authorities, this is a thriller of an Urban Fantasy. The storyline is well-written and has action, suspense, and intrigue. The characters are defined and come to life on these pages. I enjoyed this entertaining installment. I voluntarily read an ARC and this is my honest review.

OMG, I could not put this book down. So much is happening in Kai's life, that I don't know how she is keeping it together. Between being accused of a crime, shadowmen, Walker Council, an Logon in a coma, she worries about everyone else. I can't wait for the next book, to see what is going to happen with Logan and Saleem, well at least I hope we find out. I received an arc copy for my honest review.

Finally got to get into this one. I follow Kai in this one. The drama has come to a peak with you wanting to help but still entwined into the story. The others will do their part with you at times holding your breath. It also has you craving the impossible in here that really anything could be possible. Jammed pack from start to finish you become dazed when you put it down with having it hard to find something else.

Will Kai ever be able to avoid trouble? Her dragon shifter boyfriend is in a coma, her djinn friend has disappeared, and she keeps getting kidnapped! Action from start to finish, with a great plot, great characters, and is well written. I look forward to the next one!

Shadow men on the rise, and someone in power desperately wants Kai dead ... more so than usual. Some things turn out well and others couldn't go more wrong! Although Lady Kailin is almost indestructible, what she goes through here seems more than harsh. An intriguing start, and action from Page 1. Another superb book from T G Ayer.

And the epic story continues! It was awesome to learn more about these characters and the action scenes are getting better and better! I know that it'll end in the nearish future, but I don't hope that day comes fast. I want to savor this series as long as I can!

Just like Patricia Brigg's Mercy Thompson books, this skinwalker series just grabs your attention. Shadowmen who are attempting to kidnap Kai, a boyfriend stuck in a coma, a pack mate undergoing an experimental process, friends who have her back, and a murder charge that is not true. What is a girl to do? Find out by reading this book. It is enthralling as have been the previous Skinwalker books.

Through out the book Kai’s situation looked quite hopeless, even though she has a knack for getting her self out of trouble. But this much?
Full of action and shifters and more!

Wow. What another wonderful book in this series. Kai is finding life without Logan extremely difficult. All of a sudden, without warning, she’s accused of a crime, now this has to be taken care of. Loved this story as well as the others.

Can't Kai and the gang ever get a break? I mean seriously! No netflix and chill? I guess when you have so many depending on you, and the 'bad' guys never take a vacay, neither do you. Filled with action, twists and some revelations, the gang had better buckle up and hang on!

Intrigue, fast paced and full of action.
Ayer puts Kai through the ringer on this one, she's kidnapped, set-up, zapped and being chased by the Shadow Men.
I can't wait to see how Saleem is rescued and when all the women find out about the prophecy.
