“I’m afraid of this. It’s insane that I’m here. You’re the last person I should fall for.”
“Don’t you know all great love stories never should have been? That’s what makes them great.”
“Is that what you think this is…the start to a great love story?”
“Do you want it to be?”

Hunt Me Down is a stand-alone novella in the Fight for Me series and having just recently read Show me the Way, and loving it, I knew I had to read this little unexpected surprise. It only took me a little over an hour to read and just like the novella itself, I am going to keep this review short, sharp and sweet.

Broderick Wolfe is gorgeous beyond belief, determined and when he wants to sink his teeth into something or someone, as the case may be, he will stop at nothing to get exactly what he wants. He sure is a force to be reckoned with.

When Broderick comes into contact with the feisty and tenacious Lillith Redd, he has certainly met his match. They start to play a game of cat and mouse and Broderick loves every minute of it. Lillith is the epitome of a strong woman and has no problem standing up to the big bad Wolfe.

The attraction and lust between Redd and Wolfe is undeniable, you just feel it with every interaction the two had. How long will it be before hate turns to love?

Hunt Me Down was such a fast, sexy and fun take on the fairy tale classic Little Red Riding Hood. I am loving this series so far and cannot wait to get my hands on Follow Me Back, book two in the Fight for Me series. If you are looking for a quick ‘sexy as sin’ novella to grab your attention, then look no further than Hunt me Down.

4 stars!

A short, sexy enemies-to-lovers romance. Originally a part of the GLAMOUR Anthology (and originally titled Red Hot Pursuit), this novella is now available as an individual standalone that fits into the Fight For Me series. Timeline-wise, it actually comes before the first book in the series, but it can honestly be read at any point, or even as a standalone.

Broderick Wolfe is a hardass businessman who gets what he wants. Lillith Redd is a big-hearted attorney who is desperate to protect her loved ones. When Broderick’s firm plans to move into Lillith’s town and demolish the building where she was essentially raised in order to build a luxury hotel, Lillith steps up take him on.

Broderick and Lillith battle it out over email as they prepare to meet in person, and their heated interactions – though infuriating – become the best part of their day.

She was sharp and obviously loyal. I’d never even seen her. But apparently, I didn’t have to. Just sitting there and reading the fight in her words made my dick hard.
There was nothing like a strong woman who knew what she wanted.
The best part was I wanted it more.

But before their first meeting can take place, they run into each other in a bar and, having no idea who the other is, things get hot and steamy.

“Why do I get the feeling that, given the chance, you would swallow me whole.”
My mouth brushed the very corner or hers, the words a low promise where they grated from my tongue. “Believe me, baby, I might devour you, but you’ll enjoy every second of it.”

So when they meet for real, it adds a delicious dynamic to the story as these two enemies not only have to fight over their business deal, but they also need to contend with their insane chemistry and the sexual tension that literally jumps off the page.

God, I liked this woman about just as much as I hated her.

I reached out and ran my fingertip along the sharp, defined curve of her jaw, my eyes keen on the movement as I did. Her mouth dropped open just as I began to murmur deeply, “Mark my words…I will have that building, and then I will have you.” I edged every closer. “Or maybe I’ll have you first.”

I really enjoyed this read. It’s quick and easy, and obviously fast-moving, but Broderick and Lillith are great characters and their story is fleshed out really well. Their attraction is palpable and the sexy time is steamy hot, and the connection between them naturally becomes something more intense than either of them ever expected.

“I’m afraid of this. It’s insane that I’m here. You’re the last person I should fall for.”
His big hand cupped the side of my face. “Don’t you know all great love stories never should have been? That’s what makes them great.”
“Is that what you think this is…the start to a great love story?”
“Do you want it to be?”

But how do they reconcile their business differences with what is developing between them? And can two people with such different goals really make it work?

“I shouldn’t fall for you.”
…“Yes, you should.”

Quick and steamy with great banter, a nice amount of heart and an epilogue that finishes of the story nicely, I really enjoyed this one.

4 stars.

So much hot deliciousness is packed into this sexy, quick read!

Novellas can be a hit or miss for me. I’m either left with the feeling of disconnect, or I’m left wanting more. And Hunt Me Down for sure left me panting for SO much more!

“You want me to chase you, Lil’ Redd? Run.

This alpha male is on the hunt, and the chase has never sounded so good.

“I told you that when you closed your eyes I’d be the only thing you’d see.”

I loved this retelling of Lilith and Brody’s backstory, how these two bold and passionate characters found their own HEA. Their story is intense and simmers with heated sexual tension that vibrates with desire. The enemies-to-lovers aspect of the storyline makes the relationship a little forbidden, somewhat unwanted, and a whole lot naughty.

…”Mark my words. I will make you mine.”

Seductive, steamy, and swoony, Hunt Me Down will make you wish for your own big, bad Wolfe!

5 Stars!

That was a lot of fun! Novella's, especially ones under 200 pages, are hard to pull off, but this one was fantastic! I felt like I got a full bodied story with Broderick and Lillith and I'm so glad that Jackson took the time to give us their story. Now for Kale!!!

A dash of enemies to lovers, a twist on a fairy tale classic, and a dollop of small town romance combine to create a delightful story in Hunt Me Down!

Broderick is the big, bad, wolf (his name is Broderick Wolfe!) and he is a real estate mogul. Lillith Redd is a small town girl who is fighting to save a beloved landmark from destruction. These two initially spar via email, but continue their verbal repartee once they meet. Except now, there is a lot of sexual tension mixed in. Lily has a sad backstory that makes her leery of trusting and Broderick is determined to slough off the underhandedness that has plagued the family business due to his unscrupulous father.

Short and oh so sexy, Hunt Me Down is engaging and I devoured it (much like Mr. Wolfe did to Lily...). The twist on the fairy tale was just enough and not over done at all. I already read, and loved, Show Me the Way, and this book only reaffirms my feelings that Jackson has a stellar series planned!

If you are looking for a fast and fun (read UBER SEXY), Hunt Me Down by A.L. Jackson is certain to satisfy. There's no need to have read book one in the series ( although I recommend you do), but Hunt Me Down easily stands on it's own. Broderick and Lillith have a surreal connection. They are brought together via a business deal that Broderick's family has initiated in Gingham Lakes. But it's not a pretty picture.

Lillith is vehemently against the deal while Broderick shows up in to town to seal it. Well, it's a different type of deal that he wants to seal and it has everything to do with the sexual draw they have to each other. This exists before they have even met in person and that's what makes this such a hot read. The chemistry in their email exchanges are off charts, so when they do meet live sparks truly fly.

Broderick is alpha hotness incarnate and in Lil' Redd he's met his match. There's a little drama brought about by duplicitous outside forces which serves as a great challenge for them. I found this a very enjoyable read and believe any romance reader will find it the same.

Holy Hell! I will never look at this childhood story the same again.

Broderick Wolfe puts the alpha in male. This man is seriously ferocious when it comes to getting what he wants. That is until stubborn game changing Lillith Redd comes into the picture. Brody loves the hunt and craves the chase.

Lillith however isn't buying into Broderick's flirtatious ways, or that's what she wants him to think.

I seriously loved Lillith and Brody's story...but..I'm a selfish bitch and honestly I wasn't ready to let them go. Even though their story was complete and there were no hangups what so ever....I wasn't ready to say goodbye to Brody's alpha precense. What can I say except I have a love/hate relationship with novellas.

Hunt me Down is a short and EXTREMELY SEXY read. If you love a good modern fairytale retelling grab this novella.

Brody and Lilith story was one of my favorite tropes, enemies to lovers. I loved their banter before they got together and when they finally did get together talk about HAWT!!! You could feel the tension as enemies but when they came together as lovers they oozed sexual chemistry.

This is a short story but it packs a powerful punch and Jackson left me craving for more. This is a wonderful introduction to a new series and I can’t wait to read about more characters and fall in love again!

description

"I hated every single perfectly sculpted inch of him."

I am a huge fan of Amy's writing. She is one of the few authors whose books I automatically one-click. I normally don't read many novellas, because it is just too short for me to fully connect to with the characters. And I always get the feeling that there is not enough character growth. However, the author did a phenomenal job with Hunt Me Down. I was intrigued from the start, and couldn't wait to see how the story would develop. The author did a great job in telling a complete story. Even though the story was fast-paced, it didn't rush through things and the chemistry between Brody and Lily felt real. This is a enemies-to-lovers novella, and even though I usually don't like this trope, it was done really well. I especially loved their email exchange. Brody and Lily were a perfect match, and I wish their story was a full-length novel.

I was so curious about these two's story from Show me the Way, so glad we got it.

“What I really want to know is if you taste as good as you look.” A soft gasp pulled into her lungs, and she edged back, watching me with those eyes. “Why do I get the feeling that, given the chance, you would swallow me whole?” My mouth brushed the very corner of hers, the words a low promise where they grated from my tongue. “Believe me, baby, I might devour you, but you’ll enjoy every second of it.”

This one was so much fun, I love that 'hate' banter filled with sexual tension that will later explode into physical shenanigans.
This novella was just so fun, but it was also very sweet. Broderick was actually freaking sweet behind all that alpha persona.
Wolf only bites if you ask him to.

“He’s nothin’ but a wolf in sheep’s clothing.” She almost smiled. “Child, that man doesn’t look nothin’ like a sheep. Think he’s wolf through and through. But I think he just might be your wolf.”

Hunt Me Down is a sweet, sexy and sassy novella in Amy's Fight For Me series. You do not need to read any of the others books to read this one. It's actually a great book to wet your whistle if you are looking for a sneak peak at what you to expect from Amy and this series.

Broderick and Lilith have been battling each other over email for months. He's trying to buy out the building that has been home to Lilith since she was a teenager. She's determined to stop him from destroying the memories and building of the one woman who always stood by Lilith.

However, when Brody and Lily meet face to face, things get even more heated between the two. It's the initial meeting that really throws things off-kilter and has them both thinking differently; Lilith isn't sure what to expect from Brody and Brody becomes even more determined to not only get the building, but the girl too.

Hunt Me Down definitely takes on the theme of Little Red Riding Hood and Amy does a great job playing into that. It's the perfect pairing that adds some hotness to this story. Brody and Lily were fun to read about it and I enjoyed their game of chase.

Definitely pick this one up!

Favorite Quotes:

Okay, he so didn’t look harmless. He basically looked like he was ready to tear you to pieces in the best of ways. I think you’re due for a little shredding.

Confusion twisted through my spirit, an inkling of something I didn’t quite understand—something sweet and hopeful…

My Review:

I gasped and smirked my way through this quick and steamy modern-day fairy tale remake of Red Riding Hood that featured a dark and smoldering couple with incendiary chemistry; they were so hot I feared for my Kindle. He was Mr. Wolfe and came to town representing his father whose company had reputation for corrupt business practices. She was the feisty Ms. Redd, a lawyer for her beleaguered foster grandmother, and seemed to wear a lot of red clothing. Mr. Wolfe liked the color red. She hated him before ever meeting him although they initially fought a war of words through angry and inflammatory emails. He had a sharp mind and sharp teeth, and she secretly liked both. They bantered and sallied insults before ultimately scorching the sheets, yet business was handled and grandmother was unharmed.

5 Bringing Their Best to the Table Stars!!!

Well, Ms. Jackson has done it again! I LOVED Broderick and Lilith together...what a fiery combo! Gingham Lakes a quaint little town in the south is the only home that Lilith has ever known and she's bound and determined to keep it as is no matter what the cost...both physically and emotionally. Enter Broderick Wolfe and his high powered NYC company that wants to change her life irrevocably.

As these two went back and forth via an email exchange unlike any I've seen, I just knew they would be SIZZLING hot when they came face to face...and thank you Ms. Jackson...you delivered in spades!!! The love Lily feels for Addelaine is so beautiful. This woman has been everything to this woman who is smart, sexy, driven and not willing to lay down and let her town be changed by the big bad Wolfe!!

I loved how their snarky and sassy conversations went from business to pleasure in two point five seconds and when everything changes, neither of them will ever be the same. There's so much story in this novella and I ate up every single bit of it!!

Note: This ARC was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review. The full review can be read on Dog-Eared Daydreams.

If you're wary about this being a novella and fear that it isn't as meaty as a full-length novel, fret no more! A.L. Jackson does not disappoint, giving readers a story worth sinking our proverbial teeth into and savoring every delicious bit of it. I liked that we were introduced to Broderick and Lillith but got to peel back the layers in order to get to know Brody and Lily. These two knew which buttons to push, but they were also quite meant for each other. Naturally, getting to their happy ending was not easy feat, but see, that's why this was such a great read. These two had to let go of their preconceived notions of one another and open themselves to the realization that their perceptions were wrong. This was the book that introduced me to the small town of Gingham Lakes when it was in the aforementioned anthology, and I loved getting to read it all over again. I'm awarding Hunt Me Down five stars. ♥

Looking for a super quick, super sexy, super satisfying enemies-to-lovers novella? AL Jackson has you taken care of with Hunt Me Down.

This series started off with a bang, and the sparks continue to fly with Broderick and Lily’s story. This novella is basically everything you’d come to expect from an enemies-to-lovers trope: snarky banter, heated chemistry, and a whole lot of deliciously sexy fighting. Oh, hey – plus? Dirty talking alpha. YUM.

On top of all of that, this is a modern day retelling of Little Red Riding Hood which just made the story that much more fun. It was easy to draw the parallels and I enjoyed this whole thing so much! It moves quickly, but the story is easy to lose yourself in and definitely a spicy addiction to the Fight for Me series! ~ Shelly, 4 Stars

Hunt Me Down by A.L. Jackson is A Fight for Me stand-alone novell.

Wolfe doesn’t realise that the building he wants has a personal and sentimental value to Lillith, but that doesn’t mean it will stop the end goal of buying the property. But will Lillith give in?

Sexual tension is high between Broderick Wolfe and Lillith Redd, even before they meet, and it becomes explosive once they do.

Both of their names are fitting as they play a game of chase, almost like red riding hood and the big bad Wolf.

I decided to read this to see if I’d like to read the series. And I most definitely will be reading the books I’m the series.

This is a very hot and schmexy modern version of Little Red Riding Hood.

Lilly Redd is fighting the sale of a building that holds so many important memories for her, some big wig developer is trying to buy it with the intention of demolishing it and replacing it with a, no doubt, garish modern building.

Broderick Wolfe is the man she is battling against and she has no intention of letting him win. However, the first time they meet each other the attraction between them is ridiculously intense, completely overwhelming her to the point that they can't even be in the same room as each other without wanting to rip each other's clothes off. What the hell is happening?

“Lily…why don’t you let me take you home. I’ll make sure you won’t regret it.” She huffed a tiny laugh. “That’s funny…because you have regret written all over you."

Why is she having such incredibly intense feelings towards this wolf dressed in sheep's clothing. He is the person trying to take something important away from her but neither of them seem to be able to resist the pull between them.

'Overpowering. Overwhelming. So fucking wrong. So damned right. His tongue licked out, tangling with mine. His body hard. Every. Inch. 'Oh God... you're so... big.' He rocked against me. 'So much better to fuck you with.'

Lily battles with her own body as she fights to keep her mind and body under control, always running away from Wolfe, knowing that he will hunt her down. There is more to him that his large co.... I mean, presence. He is not as bad as Lily thinks but proving it to her will be another battle he will gladly take on. He enjoys the game they are playing and most of all the hunt.

I'm AL Jackson's biggest fan and I'll read anything she writes! Long, short, sweet, hot. Whatever! Hunt Me Down is novella in the Fight for Me series. Who doesn't love a fairytale? Especially one where the heat levels have been turned way up. This isn't Little Red Riding Hood. Broderick Wolfe and Lillith Redd are sworn enemies who've never met. Wolfe is trying to take something that's not his and Redd isn't going to let him have it. Once he sets his eyes on her, he wants more than he initially thought. He wants her and he's going to get her. Lillith is standing her ground and she's not going to give up. Even if Broderick Wolfe is the sexiest most gorgeous man she's ever seen. Will she ever be able to trust him? What happens when he stops chasing and she stops running? I love this story. It was short, sweet and hot and felt like a full novel to me! It's a little different than AL Jackson's normal work, but I loved it just as much!

He smiled that magnetic smile. And I realized that was what terrified me the most about him. I didn't hate him at all.

A quick hot read that will have your blood pumping and heart soaring. The characters Broderick and Lillith are both fierce at getting what they want. Only thing they want different things. It's business but once they meet face to face it becomes so much more. I absolutely loved their banter and together they explode. A great quick read that will have you begging for more.

Can AL Jackson even write a book I don't like?  Seriously?  She gets me every time.  From her traditionally LONG books (that I love) to this fun sexy novella. An enemies to lovers story that has some seriously sexy and a few twists and turns.

Al Jackson's version of Little Red Riding Hood had me wanting for more.

Broderick (Brody) Wolf and Lillith (Lily) Redd haven't met in person yet, but their emails have been quite spirited.  He's looking to buy some property and Lily is not going to allow him to come and ruin her little town of Gingham Lakes.  He has a reputation for coming in and "huffing and puffing and blowing things down" and she's not going to fall that easily.

His visit to Gingham Lakes has been looming but even though Lily hasn't been too nice via emails, Brody is absolutely taken by her spunk and unwillingness to back down. He finds it awful sexy and alluring.  Just wait until he sees her for the first time!

Lily, a little love shy isn't going to allow Brody to come in and take her memories and home away without a fight.  Only problem, his reputation for being a bully isn't the only thing he's known for, he's known for being super sexy and watching them fight off their attraction is oh so much fun!

Hunt Me Down is a stand-alone novella in the Fight for Me series, and while it might be just 103 pages, it sure packs a punch.

Broderick Wolfe is sophisticated, handsome and used to getting what he wants. Being a real estate mogul allows him to assert that quality too. I do however think he met his match with Lillith Redd. She’s sassy and determined which is what got her where she is today, a successful lawyer. Lillith is also the one person who is standing in his way of acquiring a business he wants needs for his company.

Both Broderick and Littlth have their reasons for disagreeing on this sale. Both are personal. And over time these two have been exchanging emails. Some pretty heated ones too, sometimes they even became personal. It was no wonder when they met in person there were sparks. There is some serious chemistry between them, but they aren’t so quick to act on it. She’s stubborn, he’s persistent, so we have plenty of bantering between them. Some the things that Broderick said to her had me fanning myself.

The theme behind this was retelling of Little Red Riding Hood and lived up quite well. And, I certainly enjoyed this enemies-to-lovers trope. With off the chart chemistry, steamy banter and romance the burns slow, what more could I ask for?!?!

Because a big Wolfe is better than Prince Charming.

4,5 stars

This is a standalone shorter book in the Fight For Me series. You don't need to have read Show Me The Way (the first book in the series), but I totally recommend it, and you meet Lillith Redd and Broderick Wolfe there.

An enemies to lovers romance, this book is sweet and sexy all at the same time. It's so amazing, because, as I said, it's a shorter book, but I didn't feel as if I was missing on anything.

There was an edge and an intensity to this book, a growing sexiness that was compelling and addictive.

Wolfe and Redd are figthing a legal battle. He is doing his job and working hard so that his father don't ruin everything by making things the wrong way. She is holding wiht all her might to her past and memories, afraid to let go and be vulnerable.

But among their animosity and allegedly hatred, there is something so much more powerful that can't be denied. Their feelings start to grow at rocket speed and there is nothing they can do to fight it.

She might be fierce Little Redd Riding Hood and he is definitely a dark Wolfe. But you know what they say about wolves...

They are bigger, stronger, they see you better, they smell you better and they certainly will eat you way better.

4.5 Short & Sexy Stars!

“This woman…this fiery woman had me stepping out of bounds. Saying things I knew I should never say.”

“I worked relentlessly for what I wanted. Chased it. Hunted it until I had it in my clutches.”

“Everything about him was compelling. Formidable. Unstoppable. Irresistible.”

Hunt Me Down is a sexy and fun take on Little Red Riding Hood. Originally part of the Glamour: Contemporary Fairytale Retellings Anthology, Hunt Me Down has a new name and a whole new look. This novella might be a quick read, but I promise you, it packs a punch. The writing is spellbinding and the story-line is one that you can totally lose yourself in. The characters are fun and their chemistry is off the charts. The chase was thrilling and I couldn’t get enough of the pull. This story was sexy, smart and a whole lot of fun. If you’re looking for a quick, sexy read, look no further. Hunt Me Down is definitely worth the read.

I love a nice little quickie when it leaves you satisfied LOL. What am I saying here? Well, Novella's will either have me swooning, or having me closing the book before I can read the first couple of chapters. Hunt Me Down had me falling for Broderick's and Lilith's story. I loved having the back end of their story. I enjoyed the broodiness in Broderick. His confidence that he would have Lilith forever. Even with the doubts, Lilith no doubt was going to realize it was true.

The intensity and passion had me head over heels swooning! I loved this short story and still can not get it out of my head. I am anticipating what A.L. Jackson will bring when she has us continue on the Fight For Me series. I have loved every minute of it so far!

First read as a part of Glamour: Contemporary Fairytale Retellings.

I thought this was supposed to be a prequel? It's just an introduction to this new world/series.

The story felt a bit too rushed and shallow. And unfortunately the series' main characters are just meh. (For now.)

I still have to read the first book.

Edit: Read the first book. Not bad.
