Out of the frying pan... into the fires of zombie hell!
Getting out of undead-infested New Orleans was only the first step. With our cat, Azazel, in tow, I have to make it another eighty miles to Baton Rouge, where I hope to find my wife, Clare, still alive.
But the road to good intentions is soaked with blood, brains, and zombie goo. After all, the Big Easy outbreak isn't an isolated incident, and I'll be forced to drive the zombie-mobile through an assortment of highways and byways crawling with the undead. Of course, it might be the living that pose the greatest threat. Just love me some humanity...not.
Highway to Hell is the second book in the Zombie Chaos series, a post-apocalyptic tale filled with graphic language, graphic gore, and, naturally, graphic snark.
Continue the chaos and pick up a copy of Highway to Hell today!
This book contains foul language (he’s fleeing from zombies, so there are gonna be some f-bombs), graphic descriptions of gore (um, zombies), and quite a bit of misanthropic snark
I’ve been wanting to finish this book since I started it and this coronavirus lockdown gave me the time to read again. And what a great book to read during this time too! I couldn’t have asked for a better read. I couldn’t read it fast enough I wanted to know what was going to happen next. It was fast paced and exciting. Great writing! Can’t wait to start Book 3!
As much as I enjoy the story, I can't give a novella anything more than 3 stars. Not can I recommend anyone but it. I'll leave that to individual taste. I do however recommend grabbing this on kindle unlimited in order to keep pace with the story.
This part of the book is happy, scary and dad. His wife is surrounded by zombies. He's still has a way to go. All the people he has helped and he maybe too late to save his wife. I cried thinking about it.
A well written sequel to Escape from the Big Easy! Still action-packed, with a bit more desperation, as Joe discovers he was unconscious for nearly 36 hours, not overnight as he thought in the first book. In this one he just can't help but get stuck in all sorts of unforeseen and unique circumstances. Kudos to the authors for creating these scenarios!
Our favorite bumbling, post-apocalyptic, reluctant hero, and everyday Joe is back on the road, or Highway to Hell, in this case. All he wants to do is get himself, and their cat, Azazel to Baton Rouge, to his wife Clare.
Unfortunately he keeps getting waylaid by the worst of humanity, and inhumanity. Fortunately, there are also still a few good souls out there as well, Joe needs certainly needs them. Talk about luck and serendipity, as unlucky as he is, and as poorly mentally prepared, somehow he always makes it through, albeit a little worse for wear.
For a guy who has believed the worst of his fellow human beings, for years, he's now learning that we all need each other.
My advice to Joe? Stay away from churches in the future, fire is BAD, keep an eye on your 6, pay attention when people speak of "other dimensions", and stay away from "Sugar" it can kill you, lol!
Basic zombies are here, prepare to be eaten plot with a huge exception. The hero is an overweight inept doofus? More like the average person instead of a zombie killing martial arts genius with the reflexes of a leopard on crank, no, more like Garfield looking for lasagne. Truly sometimes I wanted to slap him up the back of his head and sternly tell him to hang onto his weapon!
Joe’s journey to get Clare is not only fraught with life and death situations but also with some laughs. I’m looking forward to finally “meeting” Clare…hopefully in the next book. I guess I’ll find out!
Still missing Francis but great book nonetheless. Also no wife in sight which means it's still one man and his cat buddy against the zombie hordes and is just awesome.
