Okay this guy got drunk and his friends left him at a strip club. One of the waitresses, asked another waitress to get him home but he was so drunk he couldn't tell her anything. She gets a cab and then she figures out he is at the Venetian and so she goes with him to figure it out and he was there and she went to put him in the elevator and take him to the room and he threw up all over her. So she went in and put him in bed and I think he puked on her again so she took a shower and then proceeded to walk around naked as a jaybird. That bothered me. She could have picked an old shirt from his suitcase or the floor and put that on but she didn't. She stripped him naked too as he was covered with puke and she put him in bed. Then she was waiting for someone to get her a flight to mexico the next day and her clothes to dry. At one point, the hero's hand grabbed her breast and she moved it because he called out his wife's name. She knew he was married and yet at first she was thinking well maybe but then after he said his wifes name, she backed off. She leaves the next morning as he was puking on the floor. She was putting on her dress and he was naked and so he thought the worse. But he NEVER wanted her at all. He was so drunk he didn't even remember the night at all. Just seeing her naked and putting on a dress made him think the worst. He was devastated. I didn't like this book but I was glad he didn't actually cheat. I didn't like the prequel but I am glad I read it before I read 8 weeks.

I wanted to smack Cal's face for the headache and heartache he caused his wife! Yep, wife only. I don't care that Cal was also heartbroken and I'm glad that Shelly made him suffer and worked hard to earn her trust and forgiveness. And eventho this prequel practically erased Cal's ultimate sin, still he's not excused that he intoxicated his lightweight self and put himself in a vulnerable and risky situation. Other than sexual offenders, some criminals, robbers prefer physically weak victims who are too weak to even call 911. Better safe than sorry, I guess.
I also wanted to swat TJ's and Scott's bums! They knew Cal's a lightweight and already drunk, yet they let him walked back to the hotel alone. They could've accompanied him to their room, then resume to whatever they were doing after. Rrrr😒

Talk about a first impression gone all bad. Loads of fun and so much more. He was a mess drunk out of his mind and she needed a break. One wild night for him confessions for her and a bond is made. She needs a fresh start, he needs to sober up. Great fast read to start off a new series.
If you have ever read ‘8 Weeks’ the first book in the ‘Time For Love’ series than you like me, and many others have always wanted to know…what happened in Vegas. In this short story we finally get our answer.
After getting drunk beyond belief and somhow misplacing his friends Cal stumbles into a strip club. After some arm twisting by a coworker Simone agrees to help him locate his hotel, his room, and after an accident on the elevater decides to stay till his friends return so he doesn’t die in his sleep.
In the times between Cal being sick and passing out they get to know each other and the stories of their lives and the loves of their lives. And because of the circumstances they are in do so naked.
When Simone leaves him in the morning she passes who she hopes are his friends as she enters and they exit the elevater, and knows that he will be fine.
…and when she gets on that elevator we finally know…What Happened in Vegas.
I had to read this one immediately after 8 weeks because I had to know for sure if Cal in fact cheated on Shelley. Throughout the entire time reading 8 weeks I had a feeling that Cal didn’t in fact cheat on Shelley. Guess what? I was right, and this short novella proved exactly that. 8 weeks didn’t provided any answer at all and even left it ambiguous of whether he did or didn’t cheat? I thought it was crappy that you never found out the truth one way or the other in 8 weeks , which had the question lingering in the air, but never answer. I hate when authors do that, but luckily this one did provide the answer. I didn’t even know this novella exist until the very end of 8 weeks where I was very disappointed that there wasn’t a definite answer. But once I found out this existed I knew I had to read it as soon as I finished. I’m glad my instincts proved right.
I actually liked this one a lot better than 8 weeks believe it or not. Yes it was short. Yes, it was a novella, which aren’t my favorite books type. But this gave me all the answers that I needed that I didn’t get from 8 weeks . It was a lot more satisfying too once all was revealed about that night.
In fact this one intrigued me more than Cal and Shelly’s book with the introduction of Simone. I was curious about this woman that Cal supposedly cheated with and found her story very interesting especially when it got into her relationship with Micha. It made me want to read more about them more than I wanted to read about Cal and Shelley. I want to read their story. The little snippet of their night together was teased in here, but I want so much more. I’m really interesting to see how their romance will play out, and I don’t think I am going to get the opportunity to read it, which is very maddening. I want more. This novella was only suppose to provide answer not intriguing me into reading about another couple.
Overall I was very happy with this novella because it provided much needed answers to what I believed to be true the entire time I was reading 8 weeks . It was what I imagined happened that night, and I was glad I was proved right. It was just the right length to the story that told what happened in the story while providing a very new intriguing character in the name of Simone. I really liked her and I want to read her story with Micha so bad, though sadly I don’t think i will be able to. This was just a very satisfying after a somewhat disappointing one in 8 weeks that I read before this.

What happens in Vegas doesn't stay there for long...
A nice intro to Simone. It's a prequel for Cal's story, but he wasn't really conscious for most of it, so Simone is the narrator of this one. She's definitely a feisty and confident stripper, but very vulnerable when it comes to love. I'd like to see where her journey takes her. As for Cal, it's a to be continued and definitely not alot of good news headed his way either even if he is 'one of the good guys'. Time to find out what happens next after this drunken night in Vegas...
Yes! FINALLY! We get to find out what happened! Did you read 8 Weeks? Did you wonder WTH happened in Vegas?? Well, wonder no more. We finally get answers!
In this short prequel to the Time For Love series, the author tells what Cal was really up to when he went to Vegas with his buddies. Because when he gets home to his love, Shelly, he has no clue what happened, and it jeopardizes his marriage.
This was a perfect start to one of my favorite series. Plus we get introduced to a new character - one I want to know more about. So, when Ms. Lopez writes Simone's story, I will be a happy reader yet again.
I read 8 weeks, and I definitely thought that Cal had cheated on poor Shelly. But after reading this, and knowing that the only thing he did wrong was drink too much, I felt bad for him. Even though he did help Simone out with her perception of the type of guy she wants in her life.
I read this after I read 8 Weeks. Glad I found it. It answered all my questions about that night. Won't give it away. But it would have been nice to read before the other story.
As a stripper in Vegas most of Simone's nights tended to blend together. But for once something stood out and was memorable. A man came into the club drunk and lost his friends. One of the girls took pity on this pup and sent him with her to have her help him to his room, wherever that may be.
I read the first couple books in the Time for Love series years ago. And I mean like 2017/2018 years ago. I always wondered how Cal who was obviously obsessed with his wife could ever cheat. I am so glad I stumbled across this prequal that tells us about that night. I really don't want to give anything away, but if you have read the Time for Love series, even just book 1, then you need to read this book. It makes you feel worlds better about everything. Also. I hope for wonderful things for Simone in the future.
That is all I am going to say on it. It is a prequal so it is a very short read and much more will tell you everything.
Just to let you know, this was a freebie from Bookspry!
I rather liked this little short story about an ice queen stripped in Vegas who takes a pause in her life to act as a good samaritan for a strip club client who's obviously about to pass out from alcohol poisoning. The question is where is he staying and can she get him there before he topples over on top of her?
This isn't technically a romance novel... unless you count the flashback with one of the club's bartenders, a hot guy named Micah. After a weekend of sex!sex!sex!, she accidentally opened her mouth... well, let's say she's regretted it terribly since.
The end is rather bittersweet. Unfortunately, I doubt we'll ever see how things happen to Simone in the series her tale opens up to, but I would hope the writer finds some inspiration in her creative processes to give her a good one. Like she says, she deserves love.
Can you imagine confessing your love and getting laughed at? That is what happened to Simone. Now she is trying to get over her embarrassment. And a coworker gives her an opportunity she can't pass up. A week off (with pay, just not tips) if she will help get a drunk ass stranger home! Here's what she didn't count on... as she is getting him to his room, he pukes all over her... Now what's a girl to do?
Favorite passage: “Shelly,” Cal murmured, and my eyes flew open. I looked over to see his eyes still closed, then plucked his hand from my tit and flung it off me. “Wrong woman, Loverboy,” I bit out as disappointment and frustration coursed through me. It was the best tit action I’d seen in months, and he thought he was with someone else.
A typical Vegas trip bucks party. Too much, drinking, partying, watching strippers and gambling. When Cal decides he’s had more than enough and heading back to the room. Just one problem where is his room and where are his friends. Stumbling into a strip joint he asks if they know? He’s in such a bad state he has no clue where he is, where he’s going or where his friends are. One of the girls gets him sorted and back in his room safely, but she decides to spend the night too! I’ve only given four stars because it’s only a novella which I’m not fond of but there is a little twist.
What Happened in Vegas by Bethany Lopez (A Time for love series prequel) I was so worried going into this story. I have previously read 8 weeks and I loved it and I did not want the author to break my heart with knowing what happened that night. I have to say this short story left me feeling complete. I loved seeing another character from another book and would love to see Simone get her own story of her time in Mexico.
3.5-4 stars. I always wondered what really happened that night with Cal and now I'm glad to know for sure because I felt like I knew Cal well enough to know what he'd actually do. As for Simone, she was definitely intriguing. She's good at her job and knows how to work her moves, but she's also got high walls encased around her heart and I know there's a story there that I want to read more about, in hopes that she finds her own HEA someday.
This was a super short read at just 48 pages. Its a prequel to 8 Weeks which I was getting ready to read. I debated on whether to read it first or after but I'm one that really needs spoilers. It was told solely from the stripper's point of view. I'm glad I read it and am looking forward to starting 8 Weeks.
For all of us who read 8 Weeks, I have to say I loved this! The entire time I read 8 Weeks and while reading other books in the series, I wondered about what really happened. This gives us our answers and it was everything we imagined! Cal is the best and truly loves Shelly and Simone is one tough woman! Can't wait to read her story!
I reckon this is one of those - you should read this AFTER book 1 prequels. Her motivations made no sense to me. As if a stripper would take a drunk back to his hotel room and look after him, especially after he threw up on her. The bouncer would just dump his ass, no matter how fine, out in the street. Oh… and I do have book 1. 2 stars
1 Night (Time for Love #0.5) was a great read by Bethany Lopez. Simone is a stripper in Vegas. All of her nights blend together until the night a tall and drunk stranger wandered in and needed help. Unfortunately for Cal, that one night in Vegas for his friend's bachelor party, changed his life and marriage forever. I enjoyed reading this book and can't wait to read more in this series.
1 Night is the prequel to 8 Weeks, which is book 1 in the Time For Love Series by Bethany Lopez.
Felt bad for Cal and Simone both. What occurred definitely can lead to a lot of misunderstandings. And who is as nice as Simone and a good listener like Cal? I am going to read 8 weeks because I want to know what happens to sweet Cal.
Oh my goodness! I read 8 weeks before this (highly recommend you read in that order), thank you for the answers of what happened in Vegas. Calvin is one he k of a special man. Thank you for how it went down. Great series so far. Definitely emotional and the backstory (those involvrd) is amazing. On edge drama in short novel. Loved it!!!!
My rating scale: 5☆ - I loved this book and it brought out true emotion in me (laughter, anger, a good cry, etc) 4☆ - I loved this book. 3☆ - I liked this book. 2☆ - I didn't really care for this book. 1☆ - I did not like this book at all and probably did not finish it.
