As a child, Emily escaped the men who kidnapped her out side of her school. Despite her claims that two men were involved, only one man was ever arrested. When he is found dead in prison, new threats begin. Emily's dad hires Steele Securities, Inc to keep her safe, over Emily's objections.
Someone is stalking Emily, now its Nate's job to keep her safe and eliminate the threat. The more he gets to know Emily, the harder it is to keep the distance needed to do his job.
Good start to the series. I'm interested enough to read the stories of the other sibling that make up Steele Security. Book One is the story of oldest sibling Nate. He's less than thrilled to be serving as Emily's bodyguard. She is equally uninterested in giving up her hard fought freedom when someone associated with her childhood kidnapping resurfaces. Nate can be a bit immature as well as unprofessional at times and his admiration of her ability to overcome her childhood trauma borders on uncomfortable. Fortunately, Emily is much more relatable. One other minor quibble, why didn't he (as the security professional) fully explain the plan - I won't say more and spoil the plot. I get it built up to the grand finale but once again I wanted to smack Nate upside the head. There are sex scenes and mild language, but it could have been much steamier in my opinion.
I was up until four this morning finishing this book. It was really good. I enjoyed the plot and loved the characters. There were a few questions I still had when the book was finished but nothing major. I'm not sure if there are more released in this series yet, but if there are Ill bee reading out next.
