Bad Tumblr poetry. I’m a big fan of modern free verse, but the metaphors are mixed at best, nonsensical at worst, and the conceit of magic is just not strong enough to hold it all together.

I am lucky enough to own this book in the limited hardback edition, and it is simply exquisite.
80 thoughtful pieces interspersed with original artwork and photographs, culminating in space for my personal journal at the end.

Moving but repetitive

I enjoyed reading this book, and the concept of magic being part of our souls is beautiful, and I also felt a lot of the poems were very similar. I think with a greater variety, I would have rated it much higher.

The formatting of this kindle edition made me a little confused as to where the book and each statement was starting or ending. I like the idea of it all, though.

The typos were very distracting and it was really repetitive. It felt like I was reading bad poetry from my 7th grader self. But to each their own. This was not for me.
