Jack and Grady are casual extras in the adult erotic movies made by WrinkleTheSheets productions. Since the day they were caught making out behind the catering trolley during the filming of Spurtacocks , their director Gerry has decided it’s safer and more entertaining to keep them on the payroll, even if their devotion -- and lust -- for each other makes them rather unreliable players.

They support the darlings and divas of the company, from the vain Quinn to the surly Tomasz. They spend their time on cheap costumes and camoflauge, sex toys and phallic props, re-creating alternative classic movies in X-rated pastiches as never seen before. And throughout all the fun and banter, Jack and Grady’s modest love affair is a model of honesty and faithfulness.

But Jack is beginning to have doubts. Grady's sex drive is generous and he’s always eager for novelty. Jack’s no longer sure he can satisfy that, worrying Grady is bored with him -- that Grady wants something else. If only Jack had the nerve to ask outright. Instead, he has to rely on uninvited and distinctly dubious relationship advice from his fellow actors. Why is Grady keeping secrets? Just what are the strange noises coming from behind the locked door of their shared trailer? And does poor Jack really want to find out?

Clare took the pen name London from the city where she lives, loves, and writes. A lone, brave female in a frenetic, testosterone-fuelled family home, she juggles her writing with her other day job as an accountant. She’s written in many genres and across many settings, with award-winning novels and short stories published both online and in print. She says she likes variety in her writing while friends say she’s just fickle, but as long as both theories spawn good fiction, she’s happy. Most of her work features male/male romance and drama with a healthy serving of physical passion, as she enjoys both reading and writing about strong, sympathetic and sexy characters.

Clare currently has several novels sulking at that tricky chapter 3 stage and plenty of other projects in mind . . . she just has to find out where she left them in that frenetic, testosterone-fuelled family home.

All the details and free fiction are available at her website. Visit her today and say hello!

Clare also writes as Stella Shaw and launched a new series of rent boy romances in 2021.

Ever read a story that just couldn't quite figure out what it wanted to be? Or watched a movie that you laughed at, then kind of stopped because you weren't sure if you were SUPPOSED to be laughing, but then you couldn't help snickering again later, and parts were oh-so serious but not enough to really make it a 'drama' or anything other than just ... well, amorphous?

That's what this short is like. Honestly, the first couple pages I couldn't wipe the grin off my face. All the boyz from 'Wrinkle.the.Sheets' are ridiculous little ninnies and their bickering/bantering is funny as hell. Then it kind of gets serious because Jack truly IS very insecure. Then gets gushy because Grady love-love-LOVES Jack and nothing could be better. [and yet ... what exactly IS he doing in there??:]

They fight, a serious days-long fight, Jack sneaks around and spies trying to figure out what it is, and when the truth comes out - Well, in an effort not to give it away I was like, "So? What's the big deal??"

At the very least it could have been something humorous - and with the other guys' bantering I was looking forward to it being something ridiculous - but in a way it was serious and I just couldn't help feeling it made no sense. I mean, Jack would do anything for Grady and Grady would do anything for Jack so ... where the hell did the 'lost in translation' bit come around?

Even so, just skimming back through the arguments of the shop guys and hearing them toss porn-titles and ridiculous memories of 'the good moments' could drag this one up to a "2.5" stars, but not much further.

Joint review with Santa, Actually

These two books are ridiculously silly (in a good way). They are unadulterated smutty fluff and I thoroughly enjoyed them both.

The punning on "porn style" film titles, especially the Christmas related ones, had me almost crying with laughter, and the way Jack and Grady would just drop everything to go at it was just so insanely silly it worked.

Two fun short books which won't do anything other than provide a chuckle.

A short, fun read set around a low budget porn film company and the stars in it. It's fun but also slightly sad as Jack, one of the stars, begins to believe his boyfriend Quinn, also a porn star, is cheating on him. The motley crew of other stars voice their opinions which only makes Jack feel worse, so he hatches a plan to discover what is going on in Quinn's locked trailer.

Charming, endearing, sexy and very funny (the spoof porn movie titles are a hoot!). A lovely bit of light-hearted escapism!

'That's Entertainment' by Clare London is simply that—entertainment. It's a love story between Jack and Grady who dearly love each other, won't do scenes with anyone else, but are insecure and have trust issues. Instead of being honest with each other about their doubts, they go to extreme lengths to try to discover what it is that the other one is trying to hide. If they used the same honesty in their relationship as they do in their sexual interludes, they would easily be able to come to a solution.

What actually makes the story are the witty, tongue-in-cheek, bawdy innuendoes and ridiculous stereotypical porn star characters which had me literally laughing out loud. Everyone is exaggerated to the extreme. Granted, I don't know any porn stars, but no one acts like that in real life. I hope. Merely the names of the movies, i.e. 'Free Willies', 'Seven Pumps for Seven Peckers', and 'Who Poked Roger Rabbit', had me in stitches. Also, the discussions about the movies were over the top and hilarious.

The characters took devilish delight trying to stir up trouble between Jack and Grady, who thought they were being discreet. When Jack realizes the door to his and Grady's trailer is locked, he suspects the worst. Instead of helping, maybe giving good advice, they fuel the fire by imagining what Grady could possibly be doing without Jack. Finally, one of the men suggests that he actually ask Grady what he was up to, but he still doesn't do so. Eventually they end up fighting although they don't know why. Secrets can break down trust faster than anything. The problem and its ultimate solution are just as outrageous as the rest of the story and just as funny. Even with such a light-hearted story, there's a message we'd all do well to heed: “Honesty is the best policy.”

If you are looking to read a story which is a parody of the porn industry at it's exaggerated best, one that will keep you laughing all the way through and leave a smile on your face afterward, even having a happy ending, then you will love this story. Thanks, Clare, for the enjoyable read.

This book is funny and silly, with a dash of “just talk already!” mixed in. Jack and Grady have been a couple for over a year, working as extras for Wrinkle the Sheets Productions, a gay porn company. Jack is afraid Grady wants someone else, someone different, when he locks Jack out of the trailer and sounds of apparent sex are heard from inside. Sounds that their coworkers and friends are standing around commenting about.
The porn stars and directors are funny, their reminscence and snarky comments made me laugh. Even the names of the movies, “Little Spermaid”, “Free Willies” and “Seven Pumps for Seven Peckers” had me giggling. Let alone “Inspector Sphincter”.
I didn't understand, however, with all the talk of sex Jack and Grady have, with Jack being the blushing one, why the actual reason for the noise wouldn't have been something Grady was comfortable talking about. You feel sorry for poor Jack, listening to those odd noises, watching his lover holding secrets and being forced to listen to the porn men speculate on what’s going on or who’s doing who. Very, very cute.

Jack and Grady are a couple who are “extras” for a porn production. One day Jack comes back to his trailer and hears some weird sounds and he’s afraid to go in because he thinks maybe Grady is cheating on him. He spends a lot of time standing around with two of the porn stars and the director with some hilarious dialogue about made up porn movie names and characters. Very very funny. Instead of asking Grady what is going on he decides to investigate but can’t find anything. Him and Grady have a big fight and he storms off then sneaks back to see what he’s up to. Of course the answer is not what he thinks and it brings them closer together but the best part of the whole book was the imagination used for the porn stuff. A funny read.
