Praise for Jude Hardin’s Thrillers: POCKET-47 sucked me in and held me enthralled. Author Jude Hardin keeps the pace frantic, the thrills non-stop, but best of all is his hero, the wonderfully ironic Nicholas Colt. This is a character I'm eager to follow through many adventures to come. —Tess Gerritsen, New York Times bestselling author of DIE AGAIN: A RIZZOLI & ISLES NOVEL
The best PI debut I've read in years, fit to share shelf space with the best of Ross Macdonald, Sue Grafton, and Robert B. Parker. POCKET-47 is so hot you may burn your hands reading. Highly recommended. —J.A. Konrath, author of the Jack Daniels mysteries
Hardin gets everything right in his powerhouse thriller debut, which introduces rock star–turned–PI Nicholas Colt. —Publishers Weekly on POCKET-47
KEY DEATH is an exhilarating thriller that punches way above its weight. It hits you hard and fast with crackling suspense, hair-raising twists and stunning revelations. Word of advice: don't start on this one unless you're prepared to stay up all night. —John Ling, author of THE BLASPHEMER
Colt is a physical, no-holds-barred PI, reminiscent of Robert B. Parker's Spenser and Lee Child's Jack Reacher, and his debut is action-packed. With a hefty toll of dead bodies, some described in cringe-inducing detail, this is crime fiction at its rawest. Hard-boiled connoisseurs should make Colt's acquaintance now.
The saga continues book 5 of 7. Wahlman is one lucky SOB. In fact pure ,uck has played a big role in all the books in this series. IDK if I like that or not.
Yet another quick read falls by the wayside. Once again our hero is beset by hired killers and deranged locals all bent on destruction, and once again our hero prevails. One is called upon to suspend one's disbelief at the incredibly implausible coincidences in the story. How it is that our hero can be anywhere on the planet but stumbles over the next assassin, or is stumbled over himself, is beyond me. But, much like the great B movies of yore, one just shrugs and puts more popcorn in one's mouth and moves on. It's still entertaining. I just hope Mr. Hardin will wrap up the series in a nice way. On to the next book.
Rock just can’t stay out of trouble—much like the original Jack Reacher whom he is a clone of. Having stopped in a town to get his SUV fixed, he ends up foiling a robbery which really irritates the two thieves. But while they are trying to get vengeance on him, Kasey is being pressured by a private investigator to betray Rock, and the hacker who is supposed to help Rock find out who in the government is behind the attempts on his life is also playing games. It’s a lot of quick-paced fun all around with another ending that totally surprised me. Can’t wait for the next one.
Jack Reacher Experiment # 5 Rock Walman is a Jack Reacher clone, part of a US Army experiment using cells from 100 years ago (Jack Reacher's cells) The other clone has been killed by someone in the Army trying to erase all records and evidence of the experiment. This is set in the future, not quite dystopian, but definitely a throwback (no cell phones, teleportation has been banned)
Okay, I'm glad that this book played my last notion of calling people boyfriend and grouchy face waitress. Did this book make sense? No. Each story is the same. I keep reading because I want the Reacher story and I want to know what birth steroids they pumped him up with in the 80s.
I'm wondering if this is just a ploy to sell coffee. I just want to drink coffee.
Rocks pursuers are relentless. The best in the business. So far his skill set and a lot of luck has kept him alive. His girlfriend, daughter and family are now being threatened. Rock now has a wanted dead or alive warrant on him. BOLO'S are now nationwide. Non stop action! Another excellent read in this series!
Well this title tells it all. Boyfriend is lucky Wahlman dialed 911, or he’d be dead. Hardin is doing quite the job coming up with Wahlmn’s life. Decker can’t believe he’s in jail for murder. Kasey got so scared she’s moved on. 5
More Reacher-esque action as Rock can not catch a break. He has a chance to find out why he's a hunted man, while the hunters get closer. Looking forward to more, check it out.
'357 Sunset' was another quick read, but again, worth it. Rock is still running and still doesn't have answers. But I know they are coming. Off to read more.
