I’m the life of the party. A little loud and some buzz kills might say obnoxious, but if you’re around me I guarantee you’ll have a good time.
Unless your name is Demi Harrison.
If that’s the case, you’d act like I’m the devil incarnate and go out of your way to avoid me. Which makes zero sense because at the last Olympic Games I rocked her world.
Whatever though. I need to concentrate on winning gold anyway. I was at the top of the standings coming into the games, but since arriving in Korea I’ve lost my edge.
I was never one for superstitions, but I can’t deny that there’s only one difference between my previous medal winning games, and these ones—her.
I’ve pulled off amazing feats in the past, but getting Demi to agree to sleep with me throughout the games might require divine intervention
Piper Rayne is a USA Today Bestselling author duo. Our goal is to bring you romance stories that have "Heartwarming Humor With a Side of Sizzle" (okay...you caught us, that's our tagline). A little about us... We both have kindle’s full of one-clickable books. We're both married to husbands who drive us to drink. We're both chauffeurs to our kids. Most of all, we love hot heroes and quirky heroines that make us laugh, and we hope you do, too.
A little sweet, a little angsty, and a whole lot of sexy, On Thin Ice is a fun second chance romance between Dax and Demi. I really enjoyed the dynamic between these 2- the push and pull, the undeniable attraction, and then the inevitable acquiescence when they both realized it was much more than just another Winter Classics’ fling.
On the surface Dax is this happy go lucky guy, but by getting inside his head we get to see how conflicted he is, not just by his feelings for Demi, but because of his mother and family situation. I enjoyed seeing this side of him, that there was more to him than met the eye. He really is a charming and sweet guy. I liked Demi and how independent she is. She couldn’t have been more of Dax’s opposite, wealthy, with a big happy family. But she didn’t let that affect her feelings for him.
This story was just a bit angstier than Cold As Ice, but I think that made me like it just a little more. The history Demi and Dax shared added that extra little tension to keep us on our toes. My only complaint with the story as a whole- I do wish we had gotten some resolution with Dax’s mother. I would have liked to have seen him lay down some “rules” for her- she needed some direction!
4,5 Sterne
Definitely a step up from book one! This one brought the cute, the fun, and the spice like it had something to prove—and honestly? It succeeded. Flirty banter, emotional moments, and just enough drama to keep things interesting without making you want to scream into a snowbank.
Piper Rayne always does it for me. I love their books!🥰
This was one of those books that I figured would be good, cause this author duo writes good books. But this one was above and beyond what I expected. I went into this thinking there was no way I could like Dax as much as I liked Grady. I was absolutely certain I couldn't like him more. And then I read the book, and I stand corrected. I LOVED Dax.
Knowing the history between Dax and Demi, I think I was just inclined to instantly be on her side and feel he needed to grovel to even deserve her attention. But the way this story played out was amazing. I think it really helped to be in his head though. To see his thoughts and his intentions for everything. Seeing his loyalty to his family whether they deserved it or not certainly helped to make him extremely likable.
I am now even more excited for the next book in the series. Beckett and Skylar have been a big interest for the past two books, and I'm a huge fan of the friends-to-lovers type of stories so I have very high hopes for what Piper Rayne have in store.
Once again, I am highly entertained by Piper Rayne!
Dax and Demi have history. They hooked up the previous year during the Winter Classics. When the competition was over they parted ways. Well, that was fine for Dax because he’s a player, but Demi … not so much. So now it’s four years later and we’ve circled back to the next Winter Games …. People who play professional sports tend to be superstitious and Dax believes he needs to get Demi back in his bed in order for him to do as well in the Games this go around … Let the games begin LOL
I really enjoyed both Demi and Dex’s characterization. There was a tension between them that allowed for a push/pull that fit their story perfectly. It was extremely entertaining to see Dax fall in the story. And fall hard he did! Well, to be fair, they both did but his ah-ha moment felt more triumphant to me. They are really a great couple and I just love everyone in this series!
I loved Dax and Demi's relationship. But the story as whole felt incomplete—Demi's mother, Dax's mother, Demi's ex and I could go on and on... It hurt the story a lot.
*Read more of my reviews at Whoo Gives A Hoot* Ahhhh! Piper Rayne you ladies capture my heart every single time and your characters ALWAYS find their own special place in my heart. This story went above and beyond my wildest dreams and I was on the edge of my seat from start to finish.
After learning briefly about Dax and Demi's past in the first book in the Bedroom Games I knew that this story was going to be one of those one sitter reads so I cleared a couple hours this morning to sit down and focus all my time on these two. Let me just say that I am so freaking glad that I did because there was no way in hell that I was putting this book down. I was hooked right from the beginning and my attention was held until the very end, which isn't surprising because this dynamic duo knows how to capture their readers hearts!
On Thin Ice was AMAZING and I cannot wait for Break the Ice! Luckily I won't have to wait much longer...come on February 26, 2018 hurry up and get here like NOW!
I freakin love On Thin Ice by Piper Rayne! Book two of the Bedroom Games brings this series up a notch and deserves a 5 star review! I liked Dax from the get go. I knew he had a "colorful" personality, but I fell for the playful Olympian. Knowing he had a past with Demi made me wonder if these two will not be so stubborn and let their relationship be.
I am enjoying that these series are coming out in line with our current Winter Olympics. Makes my imagination wonder if any of this kind of action happens behind the cameras. And no! I am not only talking about the sexy scenes, although that does through a lot of heat into the story. I love how these characters show support for each and truly have love for the sport. From the drama down to the sport, On Thin Ice hits all the check marks for me. I am excited for Beckett's story coming up next <3
Still based at the Korean Winter Classics (Bedroom Games' version of the Olympics), we still see the characters from Book 1, whilst we see love grow between once enemies, Dax and Demi. The Double Ds rekindle their relationship from 4 years earlier, which ended with Demi loathing Dax, and solidifying it into something more this time around.
I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this second chance/enemies to lovers’ book! I am loving this series as I love sports romance and the Olympics, so I can’t get enough!
Dax and Demi had a great time at the last Winter Classic but what he thought was just a hookup for the games, Demi thought it was much more and was heartbroken when it all fell apart. Fast forward 4 years and the band is back together. The six friends that are each other support and cheerleaders. Demi is still bitter and avoids dealing with the outgoing, loud and charismatic Dax. That is until Dax suggests that Demi make a new love interest jealous. With a sexy song and through some very sexy moves during karaoke, their attraction heats up and Demi convinces Dax to meet in the restroom for a quickie. A no strings attached quickie!
Dax has been having a lackluster showing and his coach is trying to prod Dax into what has changed. It was Beckett that brought the idea to Dax that Demi may be his good luck charm since last year he was bringing in the gold throughout their hookups. He isn’t a superstitious guy, but he thought it was worth a shot! So, Dax went groveling to see if he could convince Demi to give him another shot.
That’s where I am going to leave it. It’s a lot more fun to just experience the thrill of their journey. There is a lot of push and pull between the characters but when they are together the chemistry is off the charts. My heart hurt for both Dax and Demi on more than one occasion. There are good laughs, swoon worthy moments and great sports action between Dax snowboarding and Demi’s downhill skiing. The secondary characters are a great supporting cast! I can’t wait for Beckett and Skylar’s story!

I LOVED this book so much! There's always that one character in a series that's the asshole manwhore you can't stand..... well that's Dax! He drove me nuts in Cold As Ice but I knew sooner or later he would have one fiesty woman who would bring him to his knees..... that's Demi! The two of them together was nothing short of witty banter, laugh out loud moments and hot as hell sexy times with so much chemistry they were burning up the pages. Piper Rayne never fails to provide a read that will suck you in and never let you go.
Worum geht’s?
Also wirklich so richtig platt.

Klare Empfehlung!
As we're used of Piper Rayne's books, this was another lighthearted, easy and rather quick read. The second book in the Bedroom Games Series followed Dax and Demi which we've already met in Grady's book but can be read as a standalone. This sports romance continued the timeline of the first one and took place at the Winter Games where Dax and Demi were two of the last participants.
There's history between Dax and Demi which had ended hurtful for Demi four years ago when Dax dumped her after the last Olympic Games. Her heart obviously still ached for him but her anger was easily forgotten thanks to Dax's sex skills and had them together again pretty fast. So there were lots of sexy scenes for a while until the characters opened up to each other and became emotionally invested. We got a bit more insight later on in the second half of the book about Dax growing up and his family, as well as Demi's struggles under her mother's pressure.
All in all, it was a nice read, well written and had a good flow but I just would have liked a bit more depths because her lack of emotions, reactions and support of him regarding his mother felt somewhat disappointing. It was a very easy and quick read without any real drama because although there were some family issues, they weren't much elaborated.
I liked the first book in this series a bit better because this one almost felt like jotted down fast without working through some tougher parts. Maybe this was intended to keep the story light but it just didn’t seem fitting for me. So it was quite hard to rate because it wasn’t a bad read and I enjoyed it but I just felt like there was something missing. I couldn’t decide on the rating because it’s really somewhere between 3 and 4 Stars. Like I said, there was nothing wrong with the book, the story just fell a bit flat.

As soon as I heard that Piper Rayne, one of my favourite writing duos, were writing a new series of standalones centred around the Winter Olympics, I was ridiculously excited! I love Piper Rayne, sports romances, and the Winter Olympics...so what's not to love? Now that I've read the first and second books, I can tell you that it's exactly what I hoped it would be and I love it all! These books are fun, they're sexy, sweet, and I couldn't put them down!
After finishing (and LOVING) the first book in the Bedroom Games Series, COLD AS ICE, I couldn't wait to read Dax and Demi's story! Then once I started ON THIN ICE, I couldn't put it down!
Dax and Demi were fantastic! Their chemistry was off the charts, and the story was wonderful. I'm a sucker for stories with hate-to-love and second chance romances, so I loved the combination of tropes that Piper Rayne used in this story! Dax and Demi were intense, and I loved seeing their relationship shift and grow, and how well they complemented each other! I really enjoyed how snowboarding and skiing fit into the story, too!
Along with Dax and Demi, I loved getting to see what was happening with Mia and Grady (the main character's from the first book, COLD AS ICE), and I loved the peek at what Skylar and Beckett's relationship is like (their book is next!). I'm really enjoying the group dynamics in this series, and I really can't wait to see what happens in the next book in the Bedroom Games Series, BREAK THE ICE!
Overall, I thought that ON THIN ICE was amazing! It was exactly what I wanted from a sports romance set during the Olympics, and I loved the main characters, Dax and Demi! ON THIN ICE was a fast-paced romance that had me eager to read more, and I think that anyone who loves hate-to-love and second chance romances will enjoy it! If you're like me and you also love sports romances, I think you'll absolutely love it!
Dax "Soups" Campbell is in South Korea for the Winter Classics, and he's ready to win gold and celebrate with all his friends. Dax is know for having a good time, and not taking anything to serious. And he defiantly does not do relationships. He is fly by your seat kind a guy, not a tied down, follow the rules one. So that's why it be best to keep his distance from Demi Harrison. It doesn't even matter that she seems to hate him, cause he stills find her extremely attractive and her throwing insults at him, just makes him want to kiss her even more.
Dax is coming to believe that Demi, just may be his "lucky charm" and he might want to keep her close. It seems that every time the two have some fun together, Dax's finds himself dominating the slops. But getting closer to Demi is confusing Dax. It was suppose to be simple, they had an agreement, to have fun and blow off some steam, a break from the stress of the games. But the more time they spend together the more Dax feels things, things he is not prepared to be feeling.
Dax is a charmer. He is super funny, and I loved to see a side of him that wasn't just jokes. To see him struggle with how he was feeling towards Demi, made him even more charming. I loved his personality, and he meshed with Demi perfectly. Demi was a super sweet, fun and sassy character to connect with. She gave just as good as Dex, with her wit and banter. I could read about these two again and again. Told once again, in all male POV, Piper Rayne draws you into the world of the Winter Classics, and mixes a great blend of clutch your stomach humor, and make you blush sexiness. You would gladly race down a snowy hill to spend time with this group of friends.
**I voluntarily read and early copy of this title in exchange for an honest review**
What fun series of books these are! I loved this whole gang of characters in the first book, but I was salivating for Dax and Demi's book by the end of Cold As Ice because I knew it was going to be awesome and I wasn't disappointed!
Dax Campbell is one of those guys that is a magnet for good looking women and he's always been one that doesn't do relationships. Four years ago at the previous Winter Classics, he ended up in bed with fellow athlete, and one of the women who is part of his circle of friends, Demi Harrison. It was great for both of them, but per usual, the relationship ended with the conclusion of the Winter Classics because that's how Dax likes it. Demi might have seen it differently though.
Fast forward four years and while training for the qualifier for his snowboarding race, where he's absolutely dreadful, Dax realizes that there is only one thing different this time versus his last Winter Classics - his relationship with Demi. Now that he realizes she might be the key to his success, will he be able to talk her into another no-strings attached arrangement this time around?
I loved the push/pull between Dax and Demi and I loved how Demi was finally able to bring Dax to his knees. You know how it goes, the ones that don't want to fall, always fall the hardest and it was no different this time.
I really enjoy the writing of Piper Rayne and the way the stories flow. You get enough information to really feel connected to the characters, but the story keeps rolling right along. This is another wonderful addition to their growing stable of books!
Demi Harrison is a strong woman that isn't afraid to speak her mind. She's just as dedicated to her sport as she is to her family and friends. She works hard and the last thing she wants to do is let Dax get under skin... again.
Dax Campbell is the fun loving guy everyone loves to be around. The only thing he takes seriously is the sport he loves. But when something seems off, he decides maybe he needs a little luck on his side.
Dax didn't really expect Demi to agree to a little no-string attached fun, but even she can't deny their attraction. But the longer they spend together their feelings begin to veer. Can they find a way to make this arrangement into a more permanent relationship? Or will this because too much and they end up walking away forever?
On This Ice is an amusing, witty, sexy read that captives the reader with it's engaging storyline from start to finish.
I love the connection between Demi and Dax even when they are fighting. They know each other because they've hung out many times before, but I love how they open up to each other and feel comfortable revealing secrets they've never shared.
And when things heat up... hot damn! Those two would definitely receive the gold in the Bedroom Games.
I really enjoyed this frienamies to lovers story and read it from cover to cover without putting it down. It's chock-full of laughs, loads of sexy times, and a captivating story.
So if you love a hero that's a little cocky but has a good heart, a heroine that's independent and kind, and story that's brilliant and amusing, then I highly recommend you pick up On This Ice today.
Enemies to lovers is not my favorite trope. It has to be done in such a way that I think the journey to get from point A to point B is believable, that the characters can overcome their differences in a way that makes sense. After reading the first book in this series, I was excited for the possibility of this book-even knowing it would have some enemies to lovers aspect. I trusted Piper Rayne and they didn't disappoint.
I liked these characters. They're both driven, both have some baggage of their own but they complement each other, once they can get their heads together. They were strong on their own but coming together didn't make either of them weaker, it just enhanced what was already there. I will say actually getting to see Dex fall for Demi had me grinning. The moment it clicked for him was just perfect.
There's chemistry there with Dex and Demi. They both know it. It's just a matter of will they/won't they, WHEN will they that kept me interested throughout the book. When they do come back together it made sense. The sex was definitely hot, but I've come to expect (and enjoy) that from this writing duo.
I loved the setting of this book-especially because we're currently in the Winter Olympics. So this gave me almost a sense of being there now if that makes sense. The writing flowed well and the pacing worked in my opinion. I'm looking forward to the next book in this series and recommend this title.
Dax Campbell has returned to the Winter Classics prepared to bring home a gold medal once again. But his snowboarding prelims have been less than spectacular and he realizes he may need the same lucky charm he had at the last Classics by his side again. But, getting Demi Harrison to give him a second chance is easier said than done.
When Dax and Demi agree to trying things differently this time, what could go wrong?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dax isn't looking for a relationship and Demi concedes to just having fun together during the Classics...
Demi is an accomplished skier, who is expected to achieve perfection from her Mom, who is also her coach. She has been avoiding Dax as much as she can since leaving the last Winter Classics, and the end of the apparent non-relationship. She wanted more from Dax, and when he obviously didn't return her feelings she was a lot more wounded than she let on.
Dax is used to being on his own. His success has been achieved by him and him alone, and his family has only ever showed him disappointment. But, once he convinces Demi to give him a second chance, he starts to realize how much he really does care for her... and not just for their explosive chemistry in bed.
This was a good read. Book #2 in the Bedroom Games series, continues with another couple from the group of Winter Classic hopefuls. While this was a good story and the writing flowed nicely, the characters did not engage my interest very much. I think they were perhaps lacking the depth that I wanted from them and their story suffered as a result.
I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.
A great addition to the series. This is book two of the Bedroom Games which centers around the Winter Games. 3 Gals and 3 Guys that were all together in the last Winter Games. However a lot has happened since those games, as we saw in book 1 - Mia and Grady’s story. But something has truly gone wrong with Demi and Dax since those games 4 years ago. Trouble is Dax has no idea what that is. But Happy go lucky Dax decides to just roll with it. Right up until he convinces himself that Demi was his good lucky charm at the games 4 years ago and he needs to get her back in his arms before it’s time for his run for the gold. He’s convinced she is what will get his Mojo Back. But can he convince Demi to let him in when he apparently did something to upset her the last time they were together?
The banter between Dax and Demi and Dax and well everyone is fantastic. He’s the guy that keeps the gang laughing and having fun at the Winter Games. But is that the true Dax or the image he portrays? As for Demi, she seem to love her sport and take her training seriously. But does she really or is something else pushing her along? This is a funny RomCom with some serious undertones and the authors have done a wonderful job with the storyline, putting it all together and making it flow. I Highly recommend this series. These are quick reads that will have you laughing and smiling and hoping all the guys and gals will win the gold - both on the slopes and in the bedroom. 2 Thumbs Up!
On Thin Ice is book 2 in the Bedroom Games series from duo authors Piper Rayns.e. It’s Dax and Demi turn to be front and center of the action this time around. Dax and Demi have a previous history. They hooked up during the last Winter Classics competition. Demi thought they were more than just having fun and was devastated when Dax dumped her after the event. Feeling let down and abandoned, she’s kept him at arms length ever since and barely has a civil word to say to him… or about him. But during a night out, Dax helps Demi pretend to be over her latest fling who has just dropped her for another girl. A hot karaoke song followed by some heated fun brings them back to where they were four years ago. In a perfect world, they should just slide into the boyfriend/ girlfriend zone, but Dax has issues with being in a relationship. He doesn’t think he would make a good boyfriend and so the agree to a just ‘friends with benefits’ arrangement. Spending more time together both on and off the snow, brings them closer than ever and soon they are deep into a relationship that neither will admit to. Can they win gold, not just in Korea but in their hearts too, or will they crash and burn on the slopes as well as off? When the ground is slipping out from under them, will they find love On Thin Ice?
As usual, Piper Rayne brings the heat, the humor, and that bit of a heart clench with On Thin Ice! I enjoyed this even more than the first book in the series. Why? Because I really enjoyed watching an obnoxious guy turn on the charm to sway the woman that hates him.
Dax…grew on me. I did think he was obnoxious, but that he’d be fun for a little bit, at least until he got on my nerves. When he started things up again with Demi, I, and everyone else who has read it, could see it coming back to bite him. What I wasn’t prepared for? The depth of feeling that he had for her. And I loved it.
Demi…I enjoyed her feistiness. I couldn’t blame her for the way she reacted to Dax, considering what happened the previous Classics. However, my thing is that she is a grown woman and should have known better. (Obviously, I’m not someone who lets her heart lead when it comes to men. LOL.) I worried about her getting back with him and getting hurt again.
BUT, Piper Rayne never lets us down and they gave us the HEA that Dax and Demi needed. Well…that we needed. They, in my opinion, upped the heat, the humor, and the angst. They never cease to amaze me with what they are able to do, but this isn’t the normal length of their books and still they packed it in and made it smooth. I can’t wait for more!
