I love hearing from my readers! Here's just some ways you can find me online...
So. I love a story of damaged hearts that find healing through true love. I’m also good with the innocent/naïve girl who falls in love with the bad boy. I’m even cool with some BDSM when done well—a good Dom and sub story can totally make me melt. I must not be alone: there certainly are tons of these in the romance genre. But this story doesn’t really fall into any of those categories. Sure, we’ve got a thoroughly damaged alpha male main character (sorry, can’t call him a “hero”). Mark is really into control, he’s a total bad boy billionaire with a past, and enjoys rough sex, bondage, and inflicting pain on his partner. But he doesn’t really demonstrate the positive role of a good Dom.
Then we have the apparently intelligent and beautiful (yet naïve to the ways of the real world) female lead, Nicole, whose brain cells seem to turn off as soon as Mark walks into a room or speaks to her. Her instincts seem to fail her regularly, too as she spends a lot of time running into trouble instead of staying where she’s safe. Together, Mark and Nicole are the poster children for dysfunctional relationships caused by lack of communication. This is most likely due to the fact that each time they realize they might have a difference of opinion they solve the problem with kinky sex instead of words.
Honestly, there are probably a lot of people that will like this book better than me just for that last sentence, alone. That’s cool. That’s what reviews are for, anyway… find what you like, right?
I feel like the author worked hard to create characters that were interesting, passionate, and engaging. For the most part, she succeeded. But it’s more like there’s a good suspense story here wrapped around a so-so romance. I had a tough time with the control Mark took over Nicole’s entire life without communicating with her, despite the obstacles. I also had a hard time with her seeming ability to just hand over all her liberties, then want to take her life back at the most inopportune times. It felt like a bad horror movie: “don’t go down in the basement, you fool!!!!” The pacing didn’t help much, as the middle of the book seemed to drag a bit in the middle. A shorter book would have helped a bit. In fact, I never thought I would EVER write this in a review, but fewer smutty love scenes would have actually been okay this time (did I really just write that??).
If you haven’t figured it out yet, for those readers who prefer sweet romances, this ain’t it. The passion in this book is steamy, gritty, and as frequent as rabbits in March. Obviously, BDSM is a factor, as is violence. There may also be certain triggers in some sensitive readers, so readers be aware. As to the other aspects… please draw your own conclusions. I’m sure many readers will find this book hot, sexy, and extremely enjoyable.
A complex, very dark, suspenseful, page turning, romance. Nicole and Mark: It took me three days of straight reading to finish this book and I don't regret it. It is by far one of the best suspenseful BDSM romances that I have read so far. I agree with another reviewer who stated that they were glad to read it at one go instead of installment by installment. It would have drove me NUTS waiting to find out what was going to happen. I too was glad for the opportunity to have read the complete series. The characters, so many you have Nicole and Mark who have know each other since they were young children, best friends growing up and have loved each other that long. You have Pierre, Mark's best friend, you have Reynard/Charles who is Mark's most dangerous and scariest enemy. Those are the main characters. They are complex and well developed. Nicole, a journalist, top of her game, runs into Mark after twelve years. Their passion for each other is HOT off the page and throughout the book. It appears that Nicole doesn't have any close friends because she has dedicated the last several years into becoming the best financial journalist for the Wall Street Journal. She is hard hitting, driven and successful. Mark is a broody, dark, mysterious delicious man who is into severe BDSM. He made a name for himself as a financial banker with a dubious and questionable background. Pierre is Mark's former foreign legend military friend and is loyal to him for saving his life on one or more occasions and Pierre never forgets his debts to Mark. Reynard was Mark's former commander in the legend in Africa. They have an extremely negative relationship due to something Mark did to him and Reynard has been out to get him and make him pay by any means necessary including killing those that Mark loved, loves and has been involved with. There is violence and extreme BDSM scenes in this book. Nicole has become a willing submissive in Mark's life and he loves her beyond words for it. She is always on the edge of losing herself completely into Mark but somehow finds an incredible amount of will to hold on to her own identity and yet succumbs to Mark's needs. Mark had my head spinning with his mood swings and had Nicole second guessing everything about him. She still managed to hold on to trusting him and when she did not, she got herself into some dangerous and deadly situations. This book is so good they should make this into a movie. Fifty Shades has nothing on this book and I enjoyed Fifty Shades. The experience of reading this book is worth the time. I highly recommend this book. I voluntarily received an Advanced Readers Copy of this book.
There are definitely pros and cons to reading a series as a complete work rather than reading each "episode" as it is being released. The continuity of reading them altogether changes how you view them rather than if you had read each one separately over time. Typically, I enjoy reading the complete story because it avoids cliffhangers, having to refer back to an earlier story to follow the current storyline, etc. in this case though, I'm wondering if reading it all at once changes the flow of the story...
It was a little difficult to relate to Mark and Nicole - both ran so completely hot or cold. Yes, this was a dark story with both characters having survived challenging experiences in their lives that left long lasting effects.
Mark's temperament and treatment of Nicole seemed offsetting, not the Dom-type of personality often portrayed in very similar types of stories. And Nicole also seemed to fluctuate wildly between the two ends of the emotional spectrum. With both of them portrayed that way it sometimes felt like watching a ping pong match with ups and downs going from one end to the other. Just a little too disjointed.
In the end, this seemed a little drawn out in the middle, a little repetitive in depicting the emotions/feelings they had (trust issues on both sides) and then rushed towards the end. The flow just seemed off - maybe if it was read as separate episodes over months this wouldn't be the case? Not sure...
I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book, however, this is my honest opinion.
~*~ I voluntarily read an Advanced Copy of this book ~*~
The concept of this book I seriously looked forward to it, however, it left me unfulfilled and seriously pissed off. Nicole when we first met her seemed like a strong career woman. but as the box set continued on she just became ... don't know how to describe it but like a lap dog. always wanting please Mark and she gave up everything she stood for. Don't get me started on started on Mark, don't know what kind of Alpha male he is, and the incompetent workers that he has...dude sort yourself out! You'd think after YEARS of misfortune he would LEARN from his mistakes but NOOOOOOOO he just keeps on making them! and it was even worse with Nicole, he kept her in the dark about everything and when it went wrong he got pissed and punished her. I'm amazed she's still alive to be quite honest :/
Don't get me wrong some parts of this box set were really good, like the thrill of trying to figure out who's behind the scenes of all that's going wrong for Mark (that had me on the edge of my seat). At the beginning you're thinking this book is gonna go one way, so you're settled in thinking ok let's go when BAM it does a 180 and you're reading it with eye wide, thinking what. the. heck! clicking each page to see what's going to happen next.
Saying that however, compared to the other books I've read of Lena's this one just doesn't do it for me.
There is just no way I can do justice just reviewing this story. First I’m really glad I got to read it all at once because I’d have been so frustrated if I’d had to wait for parts. This story is intense. The character development is great. The story flow keeps you hooked. Nicole and Mark have known each other since they were toddlers. He was the bad boy who got in trouble. He was sent to reform school and they had not talked for twelve years after he turned her down. She is a journalist for the Wall Street Journal where as he has done well for himself by legal and illegal means. As their relationship develops it gets really intense. The author gave me a feel for why Mark is the way he is and hints of how abusive his dad was. Also Mark’s complete background isn’t revealed for awhile but its hard to set the book down until you find out about him and his wife. The sex is hot. The BDSM parts of this story are strong. I had a hard time deciding if I liked Mark of not because he almost has a split personality. This is a real good mystery with more than enough twist and personal details that I could not set it down. Again I have to say I’d been really impatient and frustrated if I’d have had to wait to read the whole story
2 stars I purchased a copy of the novel His Forever sold as a Boxset as books 1-8 and His Forever the Complete Series by Lena Bourne. A story with promise. The book is suspenseful and interesting drawing me in from the beginning unfortunately it is a little too hardcore BDSM for me and ends suddenly with a cliffhanger at what appears to be the middle of the story but is really only 1/4 of the story. Investigative reporter Nicole falls in love with the bad boy friend from childhood the now billionaire and Dom Mark. Secrets, multiple deaths, insecurity, trust and true love are just a few of the themes in this first part of this steamy BDSM thriller that. The second portion of the story is full of violence and gore. I made the mistake in purchasing both "Boxset 1-8", the first half, and "The Complete Series" which is the entire story. The story itself is good but too descriptive for my tastes and needs lots of editing help. An 18+ story.
A change from Lena's MC romances, His Forever takes us on a journey with a billionaire and a journalist. Mark and Nicole have known each other since they were kids although they've lost touch for 12 years. Mark has a darker side behind closed doors and he's not sure if Nicole can handle it. Both Nicole and Mark go back and forth in their relationship. Mark is hot and cold and Nicole is against dating him and then takes one look at him and she's all for it...that did bother me, a lot, but the writing and the plot was really good. Mark has a past he's hiding and Nicole is getting stuck in the middle of it. This is a long read as it was 21 installments. So glad I read it all at once, though. I'd be pulling hair out waiting for the next installment otherwise...LOL.
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read.
Financial journalist Nicole West reconnects with the handsome Mark, her childhood crush, while visiting her family for Christmas. Nicole is overjoyed when Mark tells her that he's moving to New York, where she lives, for a new job. Self made billionaire banker Mark Cross has loved Nicole since they were children. Every woman close to Mark ends up hurt or dead and he won't put Nicole at risk but his resolve to stay away melts the second he sees her. Mark is going to make the most of his second chance with Nicole but when Nicole becomes the target of Mark's enemy, will Mark be able to keep Nicole safe?
Lena Bourne delivers an intriguing, suspenseful and steamy story you won't be able to put down

I really enjoyed His Forever: The Complete Series by Lena Bourne. I read one book a while ago so I was quite nice having all 21 parts together in one place plus we also got the prequel and other bonus content. I am not a big dark romance fan - I’m a little queen yet, but even though absolutely dark, it is also a very passionate romance. This story is about Nicole and Mark. There attraction was instant and their chemistry was quite intense. This story really has some smokin hot BDSM scenes and is drama and suspense intense. I found the whole series very enjoyable, sexy and entertaining. I received an ARC copy of this book but enjoyed it enough to realize I would read it again so I bought a copy as well.
The plot is intense, gripping and disturbing. The uncertainty and anticipation of the characters' actions and reactions compelled me to keep reading even when things bothered me. Ms. Bourne's writing is outstanding because of all the emotions that ran through me as I read.
My biggest gripe is with Mark Cross and his treatment of Nicole. His hot and cold treatment of her is cruel at times and unnecessary. I do appreciate that there are some situations in his POV but, that just made the way he treats Nicole that much more confusing. I realize it is part of his character and personality, I found it to be too much emotional and mental pain on Nicole's part to convince me Mark 'is doing it for her own good.'
I do recommend this complete series especially if you like suspenseful romances touched with heavy bondage and pain.

Talk about suspense!! Lena Bourne has done it again. Mark and Nicole grew up in the same town, but had not seen each other since Mark left for reform school. Nicole has moved across the country and is now working for the Wall Street Journal. She is a go getter and doesn't want anyone telling her what to do but can't resist Mark. Mark has a dark background that he is afraid to bring Nicole into, but can't let her go either. Can Mark be what Nicole need and protect her for the rest of there lives? is a great story that keeps you coming back for more. I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This is an amazing read. Lena Bourne has done it again. She has written a sexy story about two childhood friends who love each other and have reconnected as adults. Their relationship has many ups and downs and its a great journey to follow these two to see how their relationship evolves. The sex scenes are written amazingly. Be ready for some super sexy BDSM descriptive scenes. I love Lena's writing and this book is one of my favorites. The plot is we'll written and the secondary characters really added to the story. Order this book, you won't be sorry.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book. This series made my heart race, whether it was through the suspense or the hotness this story created. I am so glad I read this as a bundle because I would have gone crazy waiting even one second for the next installment. I recommend any fan of BDSM erotica, with a great storyline attached, get this bundle. Do not let it sit in a “to be read” pile – read it immediately, you won’t be sorry!
His Forever: The Complete Series by Lena Bourne is a very good collection. This brings all twenty-one parts together in one place and also gives you the prequel and other bonus content. This is a dark and passionate romance about Nicole and Mark. These two have great chemistry and their relationship is very intense. Featuring steamy BDSM scenes, drama, suspense and danger. Very enjoyable, sexy and entertaining. I am posting a voluntary review after reading an ARC copy of this book.
this is a fantastic series and I loved having the whole series to read at one time instead of having to wait between them. this is a BDSM romance with great characters, romance and intrigue. I love all the books from this author and can't wait for her next book. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy and highly recommend it.
His Forever: The Complete Series by Lena Bourne Big fan of Lena Bourne’s writing and she never disappoints with her books. I enjoyed reading His Forever: The Complete Series and would recommend it to others. "I received an advanced copy of this manuscript and am voluntarily leaving an honest review."
I liked all of the ups and downs, all of the twists and turns of the story. Though I didn’t like her eagerness at being dominated to the point I began to question the whereabouts of her self respect But that relationship seem to work for them. It becomes very apparent in the end.
It was a good story, characters were good written, the plot has lots of twists. I had the only problem with Mark coldness, he was too cold and too intense to Nicole For fans of steam and hard bondage.
His Forever collection has me feeling mixed feelings. I enjoyed the story line. My mixed feelings are around Mark. I enjoyed the story line and reading Lena's books. You'll have to grab a copy of His Forever and see if you like Mark. I give His Forever 3.5 stars.
An intense dark BDSM romance that will keep you turning the pages. Well written storyline with well developed characters. I voluntarily received this book to review for my honest opinion.
