THIS MAY NOT HAVE BEEN THE BEST ZARA COX STORY, AND I KIND OF UNDERSTAND WHY THERE ARE SEVERAL BAD REVIEWS ON THIS...BUT THE THIRD STAR IS FOR ALL THE HOT, PASSIONATE SCENES.
OUR HERO is a jerk at the beginning, and since this wasn't a lengthy novel, his presence was rather abrupt and technically the characters were already in a relationship since chapter one until the accident ended their engagement. I like Salsa but I am biased about it being viewed as a manly sport because if compared to hockey...or football...it's a more elegant sport. Anyways, I don't really know what Enzo does per day except running some clubs at night and well throughout the entire story, he misunderstands the heroine's situation and treats her like dirt...and still has sex with her.
OUR HEROINE was out celebrating her friend's bachelorette party until the night ended in a nightmare. One friend dead, another in a comatose and the other with half her face ruined, except Lexi got out unscathed. Now, she's enduring survivor's guilt and it doesn't help when Cara, one of the friends is blaming her for everything, inducing more guilt and the man she was supposed to marry broke off their engagement and treats her so coldly now. I guess she's quite a strong woman in that sense, but she still soldiers on.
OVERALL the plot wasn't brilliant, but if you want it for the angst and sex...then this is your to go book. If you want something meaningful, with an alpha hero who didn't misunderstand his girlfriend getting raped as consensual sex...then read something else.
