Meet the Tate brothers... and the mates fate has in store for them.
Crying Wolf
Grace Shaw is on the run from her crazy ex-boyfriend who refuses to believe their relationship is over. He's a cop and is willing to use police resources to track her down. So Grace comes up with a plan and tricks his fellow brothers in blue into thinking he is crying wolf a couple of times when he's reported her missing. Little does she know she'll go running into the arms of a real wolf when she finally makes her escape for real.
She just wants to be left alone, but then she meets Hunter Tate - the alpha of the Black River Pack. Grace tries to hold Hunter at arm's length, but there's just no reasoning with an alpha male werewolf who insists she's his mate.
Shoot for the Moon
Eliza Reve knows that her ability to dream of future events sets her apart from others. Her gift became a curse when she wasn't able to save her mother or the alpha's son and she found herself exiled - a lone wolf. When she joins the Black River Pack, Eliza vows never to reveal her talent to anyone. Not even the man who has walked in her dreams for years.
Spencer Tate is her mate, but her visions have told her that he will renounce her. When he doesn't recognize her as his mate, she agrees to the no-strings-attached affair he offers because she thinks it's the most she can hope for. Although her heart breaks as she falls deeper in love with him, she wants to spend as many days with Spencer as possible before he kicks her out of his life.
When Spencer finally comes to his senses, he has his work cut out for him to convince Eliza that he wants her forever. When another she-wolf insists she's his mate instead, things get even more complicated. But Spencer isn't the alpha's second and enforcer because he isn't willing to fight for what's his, and he refuses to settle for anything less than Eliza as his marked and claimed mate.
Thrown to the Wolves
Annora Channing's entire world changes the moment she discovers she's a bear shifter. With mated wolves for parents, she should have been a wolf also. When the man she grew up thinking was her father realizes she isn't his daughter, he devises a plan to use her existence to his advantage in a way that will get her out from under his roof.
When her situation goes from bad to worse, Annora escapes but is badly injured in the process. Luckily, Elias Reve comes to her rescue while on his way to Wolf's Point and the daughter he lost years ago. With nowhere else to go and nobody to turn to, Annora joins him on his journey and ends up running smack-dab into the arms of her mate.
Parker Tate knows Annora is his the moment he lays eyes on her. When he manages to mate and mark her within hours of when they meet, he considers himself lucky. Then the trouble nipping at Annora's heels finds her and Parker realizes the path to claiming his mate won't be as easy as he thought - especially not with the bears involved.
I absolutely adore reading - always have and always will. My friends growing up used to tease me when I would trail after them, trying to read and walk at the same time. If I have downtime, odds are you will find me reading or writing.
I am the mother of two wonderful sons who have inspired me to chase my dream of being an author. I want them to learn from me that you can live your dream as long as you are willing to work for it.
When I told my mom that my new year's resolution was to self-publish a book in 2013, she pretty much told me "About time!"
So this consists of three stories, each (mainly) about one Tate brother. All three are wolf shifters who live in a small town and are about to meet their fated mates.
I liked the stories because although they were short, they were not exactly as rushed as Alexa Riley stories. Also, I'll admit to apparently having a thing for werewolves. ;P
The first story about Hunter, the alpha and oldest of the brothers, was the best. The female MC was a victim but smart and not whiney. The second story was a bit annoying at first because there was a crossover with the first that had me skimming quite a lot and for some reason there were a lot of typos as well. Nevertheless, I liked the dynamic that not everything is easy-peasy just because someone says "fated mate". The third story, about the youngest brother, was heartbreaking at first, but waaay too rushed when compared to the other two. No typos and/or crossover events here though. Too bad it wasn't as hot as the other two and the main conflict was over far too quickly and easily.
Still, I enjoyed this author's writing style and kind of like these alpha males that act all tough but then roll over and do anything for their women. *lol*
A lot of good parts but also quite a few problems. Started off fast paced and interesting. Pulled me in quickly. However the pace slowed down in some areas. Mostly due to repetition. There are also assorted editing errors. Missing words & words that needed to be struck out.
Some of the slow pace had to do with the suspense. If the suspense had been kicked up a notch and not glossed over it would have been much better and a faster read.
There were also areas that came off a bit inane and immature.
It was an okay read and I will be reading the next book in the series.
This is a lovely series. I read it before it was a box set. I highly recommend it.
Crying Wolf
I was very pleased with this book and I am looking forward to the rest of the series. Yes Hunter is a very strong alpha but one that will do what it takes to protect the one he loves. Grace is a strong female character that was smart enough to get out of situation that needed to be done. When these two met it was in the stars for them to find each other. Everyone needs to find their bliss and be happy. It is nice to have someone have your back and love you unconditionally. This book also keeps you interested from the get go. I like the way it flows. It gives you background enough to have your mind say hey what will happen next. This is a quick read with the way it is written. I love a book that keeps my attention and one that I can lose myself in with my imagination.
Shoot For The Moon
Oh my sometimes we are determined to not see what is right in front our faces. Spencer and Eliza what a pair. I loved this book and I am looking forward to reading the rest of the series. Spencer showed how stubborn and alpha he could be and Eliza had a strong personality as well. To be strong is never easy but when you need to survive and be loved that is what you need to be (strong). I loved the characters and the message from this book. It conveyed the message of if you have a strong support system and people by your side you can make it through anything. I love it when there is support from strong characters. There is something to be said about having someones back and in return they have yours.
Thrown To The Wolves
OH my! Parker! Parker! Who is up for more shifter books from Rochelle Paige? I am and I hope they are about bears. These Tate brother were fabulous. Parker hook line and sinker. Mate, mark and claim wow it was fast but meant to be. A lot of mystery and protection for the women in their lives. I love a strong alpha with a tender loving side. Let's face it there can be an animal in us all. Love this series and again I hope there is more to come.
Crying Wolf 3.5 Stars This was pretty good. I love the whole mine at first sniff thing. I loved how Hunter wanted Grace, but was willing to give her time. I loved that he wanted to protect her. I liked Grace. I understood why she was leary of getting in a relationship. The plot was food, interesting. There was some good amount of heat. I would have liked Hunter to be a little more wild, but I understood why he wasn't.
Shoot for the moon 2.5 stars The dialogue is the same for part of the story as it was in Crying Wolf. Which was a bit repetitive since I read the stories back to back. My enjoyment suffered because I kept waiting for heartache and rejection, but I figure out what was going to happen. But by then, I didn't enjoy it as much as I could have.
Thrown to the wolves 3.5 stars This one was the best out of the three. The whole instant "mine" thing. The fact that Parker had been wanting his mate, and was so glad to find her. This gave me some feely goods.
Overall for the three books they were ok. Good heat, but everything was solved pretty quickly after a fair amount of buildup, so it was kind of disappointing. I will read more, especially about the bears.
Boxed set about three shifter brothers finding their mates. The last is my favourite with an h who had been brutalised by her mother's mate. Now she's on the fun and rescued by a shifter who has a connection to another couple. Very convenient and all the shifters brothers find their HEA. Very short stories with common themes.
I'm in love with this series! I am late, very late in reading this book. I had no idea that Rochelle even wrote shifter romance books (I live in a cave) but damn I am glad I know now.
Grace Shaw has suffered a lot in her young life. Losing both her parents to a tragic accident she's left alone. No other family. So when Sam approaches her she thinks she's found someone to fill the void that's been left. He seems perfect, good looking in that good ol' boy way and he's a cop. What she doesn't realize is that he's a monster. A controlling one, who slowly and methodically isolates her from everything and every one. First it's her job, then her friends. Until all that's left is him.
The moment she comes to realize this is the first time he hits her. Her first thought is I need to get away. But when that plan is stopped by Sam she bides her time. All she knows is that he's smart and she needs to really think about how she can be free of him. With Sam being a cop it's going to take all her smarts to get away.
Arriving in Wolfs Point she feels that maybe this is the place she can finally settle down in. It's been months since she escaped from Sam and maybe it's time to put some roots down.
Hunter Tate is the Alpha of the Black River Pack, a strong leader and fair. It doesn't hurt that he's sexy also. When he first spots Grace as she enters The Den the bar he runs with his brothers his wolf recognizes who she is instantly. So does his human side. But they can also sense the fear that she tries to hide. She's running and she's scared.
Hunter though does not let this deter him, she will be his mate. It may take a bit of time but she is the one.
I loved this story so hard, it had everything you want in a romance story.
Shoot For The Moon - book 2
Eliza Reve is cast from her pack in a cruel twist of fate, she loses her family also. Life has not been kinds to her. She also carries the secret of being able to see the future. A gift handed down in her family and one that her mother made her keep secret even from her father.
Settling into town she keeps to herself, though she does become part of the Black River Pack she holds her ability close, from her past she found that sharing that secret destroyed her. When she meets Spencer Tate the towns sherrif and the Alpha's enforcer she recognises him instantly. He's the man, the one she has dreamt of and her mate.
Spencer feels the pull to Eliza but he resists, he ignores his wolf and offers her a no strings affair. She can warm his bed but that's it. She accepts even though it is slowly killing her.
When her secret comes to light it's here that Spencer finally pulls his head out of ass and accepts what his Wolf has known all along. She is his other half, his mate.
A story that has you hooked from the get go. Full of surprises and you just can't stop reading. The continuity through out is second to none. Absolute adore this series.
THROWN TO THE WOLVES - BOOK 3
Annora Channing is on the run having fled with her life (no joke) she escapes with the help of a wolf shifter she makes her escape.
Parker is the youngest of the brothers, with a bit of a white knight syndrome happening. His protective instincts in regards to women are swoon worthy. He's watched his brothers find their mates and all he longs for his one. The one to make him complete.
When Eliza his brothers mate dreams of her Parker is stunned all he can think is where is she and how long till she gets here. When he finds out that she's been injured all his protective instincts fire up. His only thought is she's hurt and he's not there to help her.
Their mating is swift, its incredibly sexy and sweet. But with her arrival is danger. The past she was running from is hunting for her. And it's going to take not just the wolf pack to protect her but the bear shifters also. More surprises but they are good ones!
This series completely captured me. I'm not normally a shifter girl, but now? Rochelle has me hooked.
I don't read paranormal books but I loved Rochelle Paige's Blythe College series I thought why not try this series and I'm so glad I did! I love how when each brother found their mate they were protective and loving towards them and they were some hot hot love scenes!
Ok ladies here us the run down. This box set has 3 smoking hot werewolves brothers claiming their fated mates. So also lots of hot love making. Through in some crazy but of drama and just wow. So go now and one click this because its just that good
Short and sweet review. This box set is so awesome. I do so enjoy reading a good paranormal story and that is what this was.
The story of three Tate brothers: Hunter, Alpha of the pack, Spencer, the pack second and enforcer and sheriff of the town where the pack lives, Parker, owner of The Den bar and where Grace goes to get a job and where (1) Hunter finds his, MATE. Grace is human and running from her abusive relationship. She has been searching for a new place to hide when she came to Wolf's Point. Grace goes to The Den and askes for a job. Parker is reluctant but tells her to com
(2) Spenser, has been having an affair with another wolf shifter, Eliza. She lost both of her parents in an accident and the Alpha's son. The Alpha thru her out of the pack when she told him she was a dream walker. She had traveled searching for a home with another pack and now she has one but she didn't reveal that she was a dream walker, in fear she would be without a pack.
(3) Parker, has been working and waiting for his mate. He has no interest in another female. When he hears that the girl who is to be his mate is on her way to the pack he calls in a favor from another pack to help find her and she isn't alone.
The stories are interconnected (of course) but are all linked to the dream walker, who dreams are sometimes nightmares instead of dreams.
HOLY ALPHA MALE HOTNESS! I don’t typically read very many paranormal romances. Not really sure why but I guess that they don’t get recommended to me often. But I was in the mood for something a bit different to break up my reading. I came across a recommendation for this series and because I absolutely adored Rochelle’s Blythe College series it was a no brainer for me.
This series follows the lives of the Tate brothers and their journeys to claiming their fated mates. The brothers are wolf shifters. These are quick and exciting reads that I devoured in one sitting each.
**Crying Wolf – Book 1** Grace is on the run from an abusive boyfriend. Nothing has been easy for her. Her ex-boyfriend is a cop and she knows that he will be searching for her with every resource that he has. After being on the run for a long time she finally makes her way to Wolf Point and directly into the path of Hunter Tate. Hunter Tate is the alpha of his pack. He personifies everything about being a leader – dominate, alpha, possessive and protective. As soon as he lays eyes of Grace he knows that he has met his mate. But he also recognises that Grace is scared of something and is holding herself back. He does not let the fact that she is human get in his way of claiming her.
I loved Grace. She is one smart and strong heroine. What she had to endure and how she saved herself from the situation she found herself in was ingenious.
Hunter was everything that you would expect in an alpha shifter. He is possessive, strong and dominant. He knows what he loves and will do anything to protect what he considers his. This is one hot read. The sexual chemistry between Grace and Hunter is thick and when they succumb to their desires it is explosive.
This book had everything that you come to expect in a paranormal romance. The storyline was well written without the need for extra fluff to create unnecessary drama. The writing was superb and compelled me to keep turning pages at lightning speed. I highly recommend this book to lovers of smutty books that love possessive, dominant alpha males and sassy strong females.
**Shoot for the Moon – Book 2** Eliza knows that she is different from every other wolf. Her ability to be able to dream future events has led too so much heartache that when she decides to make a new life for herself she hides her gift from those that she is close to.
Spencer is the beta in his pack. His whole life he has known certain things about his fated mate. It is because of this knowledge that he is blinded to what is going on directly under his nose. He proposed to Eliza a no strings attached relationship. He doesn’t want to tie himself down while he waits for his mate to come into his life.
Due to her ability, Eliza knows that Spencer is her mate, but she also knows that at some point he will reject her status as such. So she sets about enjoying her time with him any way she can before he breaks her heart.
Like book 1, this is another short and entertaining read. I love how these books allow you to get a full story that is explosive and sexy without having the need to fill pages for the sake of it. The angst between Eliza and Spencer is off the charts. Couple this with explosive heat and you can’t really go wrong.
Spencer, being the beta of his pack and the enforcer, is one hot hunk of an alpha, possessive and dominant male. I loved how he recognised that he was acting like an a-hole and did everything he could to make it up to Eliza.
While I understood Eliza’s trepidation through a lot of this book, I was so happy when she was finally able to come through the other side by dropping all the preconceived notions she held. If you are looking for something quick and steamy you can’t go wrong.
**Thrown to the Wolves – Book 3** Annora lived her whole life believing that she was a wolf shifter. Well, her parents were both wolves so there was no real reason to suspect that she was anything different. Unfortunately that all changed the first time that she shifter into a bear. From this unfortunate revelation, Annora’s life is turned upside down.
Parker Tate has watched his brothers find their mates and start their happily ever after. Like his brothers, he has known how his mate will arrive. True to form, when Annora arrives Parker instantly recognises her as his mate and claims her within hours.
But Annora has trouble following her. It arrives in Wolf Point where Parker has vowed to protect his mate at all costs.
After reading about the other two brothers getting their HEA, I could not wait for Parker & Annora’s story. And thank goodness I was not disappointed.
Even though this was book 3 of the series, there was not a moment where I felt and it dragged or rehashed anything in the previous two books.
Of course it was as steamy. Parker and Annora were explosive. Of course Parker was a dominant, possessive alpha male – his family is the head of the pack after all. And of course Parker would go to any lengths to protect what is his.
Annora’s strength and belief in her man was awesome. To be able to recognise that he is willing to protect her and love her unconditionally was a delight.
After reading this series, I don’t think that you can’t really go wrong with a Rochelle Paige book. She delivers a great storylines with depth, excitement and a whole lot of steam. Don’t be put off that this is a paranormal romance, it has everything that other romances deliver – alpha males and the women that love them – but with a great twist on the story. I highly recommend these books to all steamy romance lovers.
Grace is on the run from her ex-boyfriend, Sam. He is a police officer. He is physically and mentally abusive to Grace and she is always scared.
After about 6 months of constant moving Grace finds herself drawn to a small town, Wolfs Point. She decides to settle and see how things go. Hoping Sam has given up looking for her.
Needing a job she tries to apply for the waitress position at THE DEN (local bar). Parker tells her she can have a troa; rim because he can see the desperation in her. But he tells her Hunter (Owner and Parker's brother) will have final say if she stays. Grace comes back for her trial shift that afternoon and runs into Hunter. Grace is human and has no idea about the SHIFTER community, Hunter and most of the people in Wolf's Point are part of the Black River Pack, a community of werewolf shifters and their families. Hunter hires Grace on the spot because one scent of her and he knows she is his intended mate.
Hunter must earn Grace's trust and hopes she will be okay with the world of Shifters once it is revealed to her. Grace keeps her distance because of her attraction to Hunter it makes her really nervous, especially since Sam is still out there somewhere. Hunter needs to neutralize Sam who is still a threat to Grace and his pack.
As Sam gets closer to finding Grace and Hunter learns of Grace's past he tells her he gave her time. Grace cannot deny the attraction to Hunter any longer and with Sam closer Hunter is fierce in his protection over Grace.
The question is once Sam is neutralized and not a threat can Grace except Hunter's world and will she go through with the Shifter ritual of Marking and Claiming.
HEA for the couple
Rating: 3 Stars ------------------------------------ Shoot for the Moon (Black River Pack #2)
Spencer and Eliza
Eliza's mother told her to hide her gift as a dream walker. Not wanting her daughter to be different or treated like a freak she kept the secret from her husband and Eliza's father as well. Rating: 2 1/2 Stars --------------------------------------------- Thrown to the Wolves (Black River Pack #3)
Parker and Annora
After Spencer and Eliza are mated Eliza's dreams become more intense. Her current dream will uncover a secret from her past that will change her future and the future of her new pack.
Annora was born to two wolf shifters. She was odd for a wolf; she keeps to herself, likes to stay indoors, likes to read, wolves life to sleep around. She bloomed late and did not shift until 18 which is odd for a wolf. Her dad treated her badly and was very abusive and strict. Annoras dad would punish her and these punishments and her homelife in general were hell. When Annora finally shifted she was a bear......WTH
Her mother rushed to explain the situation to her mate. Stating that she was not unfaithful but that she was raped and hoped Annora was his daughter.
Now with this new information her father is furious and dislikes Annora even more. He decides he has raised another man's baby long enough and sells her to a horrible Alpha Wolf. His is crazy, dangerous, abusive and has wanted Annora for a really long time.
Annora has no choice but to run.
Parker knows his intended mate will be disowned by her family because his grandmother (a dreamwalker) predicted it.
Upon meeting Annora they are mated but the Alpha that bought her wants her and is still determined to take her as his mate. The Bears are called in as reinforcements to help Annora since she is one of theirs.
Annora's mother should have told Annora the truth and should have supported her instead of her mate, especially knowing what it felt like to be mated to the wrong person.
Rating: 2 Stars ---------------------------------------------------- I liked all the books in this series but they were just OK. Be aware if purchasing them separately they are only about 100 pages each.
Most of this series was a little to happy all the way through. I feel like maybe that should be a good thing but I don't have that happy high you get with the struggle and conflict they go through to get the HEA.
I got this 3 story box set for free as a deal on Amazon. I like to try out new authors, so I took a chance. It's free, so I'm not losing anything but my time. I liked the stories enough to give all of them 3 stars. The dialogue wasn't clunky, the stories were solid. By making them novella length, you give up on developing the characters though. I was thinking about authors like Nalini Singh & Ilona Andrews. The success of their books is not just the developed characters, but the secondary characters as well. There were none in these stories. Everything was so fast, from the meeting to the mating to the HEA. I would have enjoyed more. Not going on with this author.
3 little stories of 3 brothers compiled into one. I liked the first story more than the other two, I felt it was a little more thought out. Quick and fun read.
Crying Wolf Running from her boyfriend who abuses her, Grace Shaw finds herself in Wolf’s Point. However, human Grace is in for the shock of her life when she feels this pull to Hunter Tate, who she thought was only the owner of the bar, The Den, that she had never felt before. Scared for her life, she tries her hardest to avoid the pull to Hunter, but eventually caves, finding out quite a bit about the man that she has fallen in love with. Will finding out that Hunter is the alpha of a pack of wolf shifters, that she didn’t even know existed prior to Wolf’s Point, keep her away, or aid in her cementing her life among wolves who accept her as their own?
Not usually being a shifter reader, I love Ms. Paige’s work, and this series piqued my interest. Once I started the Black River Set, I couldn’t put it down. Meeting the family, and brothers of Hunter (Spencer and Parker) set the series up nicely. Worrying for Grace and if her crazy cop boyfriend were going to find her kept you on your toes the whole read. The relationship between the two was dynamic and pulled me into the whole series.
Shoot For The Moon Finding out that the Tate brothers’ grandmother explicitly laid out who their mate was going to be really sets the reader up for this book in the series. We were told that Spencer would mate with someone that walked in their dreams and had been briefly introduced to Eliza Reve in the previous book. With Eliza and Spencer having been in a year long relationship already, but now knowing they were star crossed mates, this book was an interesting read. Eliza sees what she sees as herself being pushed away from Spencer constantly in her dreams, so this book is full of twists, turns, and angst. Knowing that these two are meant to be, and reading them both fight it, but want it at the same time, keeps you pulled in, word after word. You really want to bop both in the head a couple of times to wake them up, but it truly was a fantastic read! Eliza and Spencer were a dynamic couple that kept it H-O-T. After reading about Grace and Spencer’s relationship and thinking they were hot, man, these two were combustible in this book!
Thrown To The Wolves This final novella in the Black River Box set goes through Parker and finding his mate. We found out that Eliza had been thrown out of her former pack for being blamed for deaths that she foresaw in her dreams, including her mother and fathers. At the beginning of this book, Eliza sees her father, Elias Reve, as still alive and searching for her. And not only is her father searching for her, but he has Parker’s mate with him, having rescued her on his way to find his daughter.
Annora Channing was hated by her father from the moment she was born. Never one to know and feel love and affection, all Annora wants to do is shift and make her father proud. When Annora shifts, however, and it was not what was expected, her abusive wolf father was furious. This caused him to detest the child he had raised even more. Selling Annora to another alpha wolf “to be rid of her” brings forth a chain of events that leads to a war between packs. But if we’ve learned nothing else from Black River’s pack, we know they fight for what is theirs. And Parker and the brothers know that Annora is Parker’s fated mate and will do anything to save her. This was one of the most action packed books of the three.
I absolutely loved this series and can’t wait to start on the McMahon series to hopefully see these three couples crop back up!
I received an arc of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Book 1 Crying Wolf
After the death of her parents Grace thought she had fallen in love with Sam. He made he feel not so alone and besides he was a cop. How much safer can you get. Over time Same took over her life and became violent. Grace knew she needed to escape. After six months on the run she ends up in Wolf's Point. Grace figures it is a small town she might be safe for awhile. Getting a job in The Den a local bar she never thought that her life would change from that moment. Hunter was upset when his brother gave Grace a chance at a job in the bar. They never hired outsiders. It wasn't safe. The wolf shifters tended to stay to their own kind. When Grace walks into the bar on her first night Hunter knew she was his mate. He could tell she was running from something but knew she was his to keep. She is the one his grandmother said would be his mate.
Book 2 Shoot For the Moon

But when her secret is revealed, Spencer knew he had been wrong and now he needed to make it right.
Book 3 Thrown to the Wolves
Annora finds out he is the result of her mother bring with another man. Shifting in to a bear in a wolf family is a dead giveaway. Then her father sells her another wolf shifter to get out of dept. Causing her father to have an accident on the way she escapes and is found by Eliza's father who has been searching for his daughter. Taking Annora along with him to Wolf's Point to keep her safe. Parker has been waiting for years for his mate. All he knows is what his grandmother told him about her vision. She will be one who is discarded by her family. When Eliza has a dream and sees his mate or her way to town he is ready to meet her.
All three books are such awesome reads. They follow Hunter the alpha of his pack and this two brothers Spencer and Parker. Each one just as hot sexy and wonderful as the other. I loved all three women. They each had unique personalities and fit in with their mates perfectly. It all ties in with a vision their grandmother had when they were younger. Each story had twist and turns. Some drama and suspense.
I loved this series, these 3 brothers Hunter, Spencer and Parker Tate have a lot to go through, they have to face great adversities to find happiness with their one true mate. Their stories are full of action, intrigue and red hot passion.
Crying Wolf Book 1 Running from a very cruel abusive relationship, Grace is thrust into the arms of a man that just may be even more dangerous than the one she is running from. Little does she finally have happiness in their lives with their one know just how dangerous Hunter Tate can be for her. Hunter Tate is an Alpha that has always been a hard A** till the day Grace walks into his bar. That's when he realizes that there is something that can bring him to his knees, his mate.
Shoot For The Moon Book 2 Eliza a Wolf Dream Walker feels on top of the world since she was a big part of helping her Alpha Hunter keep his mate safe because of her dreams, but her recurring nightmares just won't go away. Can Spencer who now knows her special gift, convince her that her dreams are just that and will never come to pass? She also has a dream that will change a deep seated sadness that she has carried for 2 years and will change Parkers life.
Thrown to the Wolves Book 3 Eliza dreams that Parker will soon meet his mate and this has his wolf prancing around like a pup, only thing is she is a bit different from what he thought his mate would be, but he doesn't care. Soon all 3 Tate brothers will have their mates by their side! Only problem is Annora has a bit of baggage in tow, but not all the baggage is bad.
This series had me howling at the moon, even though there isn't one out tonight...LOL Lots of action, sadness, happiness and passion! What a great combination in a story, or stories in this case...I loved being able to read all 3 books at once.
The overall rating will be posted once I've complteted the series. Below are the individual ratings:
Crying Wolf review:
5 Crazy Ass Stars!!!!!
I really enjoyed reading this. I don't often read paranormal stuff but thought I would give this a try since I've enjoyed Rochelle's writing before. I wasn't disappointed at all. This was a quick, entertaining read. I especially loved that it got to the point of the story without over doing it on too many unnecessary details or subplots. I'm looking forward to Eliza & Spencer's story in Shoot for the Moon.
Shoot for the Moon review:
5 Crazy Ass Stars!!!!!
I'm loving this series! I love how there is no unnecessary nonsense. Although I loved Grace & Hunter's story, this is my favorite so far. Eliza & Spencer's story was just the right amount of everything that makes for a great read! I'm eager to start Thrown to the Wolves so I can read Parker's story and meet his mate.
Thrown to the Wolves review:
5 Crazy Ass Stars!!!!!
This was my absolute favorite of the series! Parker & Annora's story was everything I hoped it would be and more. I'm eager now to read the McMahon Clan series.
Overall rating: 5 Crazy Ass Must Read Stars!!!!!
This set was amazing. I just love Rochelle Paige's writing and how she leaves out all unnecessary fluff and filler and gets to the point of the stories. It made it so much more enjoyable to read and not have to muddle through details and such that are not really pertinent to the story. I said before in my review of Crying Wolf that I don't read paranormal often but I will most definitely read any paranormal books that Rochelle writes. I'm most definitely a fan after reading this set! This is a Crazy Ass Must Read!!!!
This box set has three awesome stories! While I had two already I grabbed this because it was 99¢. I'm so glad I did because it would have just made me mad having to stop and search my kindle for each separate book! Rochelle hit a home run with these. I loved each one and it seemed they just kept getting better! I can't wait for more! I love the characters and was drawn into their lives (world) and can't wait to return! Kudos Rochelle - speedy writing!
This boxed set is the stories of the Tate brothers, alpha, enforcer, and the youngest Tate. Based on their grandmother's prophecy that their mates would be one in danger, one who walks in dreams and one who was discarded by her family. Obviously they are wolf shifters but their mates are a variety - human, wolf, & bear. I enjoyed their stories and would recommend them to anyone who enjoys paranormal romance.
These books held my interest from the very first page... I rarely have trouble putting a book down to go to sleep unless I REALLY get into a book or books in this case... I stayed up til 2:15 am trying my best to finish book 3 before my eyes closed on me... *sighs the sand man won out but I finished them today and I truly can't wait for the next book to come out!!!
Simply loved this series. Hot Alpha males. Who will not stop at nothing to claim there fated mates to there sides. Super protective, dominating , sweet and attentive. Each and everyone of these men have awesome good qualities. Great story line, characters are well developed and well liked. Great plot twists and happy endings.
This is the Box set for the Black River Pack. It was an interesting series but at times didn't make sense as it came across as incomplete. It went first to the mate running from her ex to the mate with visions to the mate, who was the product of a rape, that we later find wasn't a rape. There was no conclusions on some of the plot lines it was just here it is. But still an entertaining read.
Stopped just before the end of the first book, once I got to the "claiming". This author must be into voyeurism, because I've never read any other shifter books that need the couple to mate in public to complete the bond. Gross. I hate this world she has built. Not going to read more.
A good value box set. Individual book reviews follow:
#1 - Crying Wolf - 4*
On the run from a crazy ex-boyfriend who is a cop and willing to use Police resources to find her, Grace Shaw hopes she killed the prospect of his colleagues helping him with her tactics to set him up before she left. All she wants is a job, a place to stay and folks to leave her alone. Then she meets the alpha of the Black River Pack - Hunter Tate. She tries her hardest to keep him at arm's length, but you can reason with an alpha male werewolf who insists she is his mate.
This was a sweet story that had lots of drama, excitement and danger woven carefully into the story. Well written, it was easy to read and understand. Quite enjoyable. Please note this does contain explicit sexual scenes and some partner abuse.
#2 - Shoot for the Moon - 4*
Wolf shifter Eliza Reve has the unusual ability to dream of future events which has been a curse in the past when she was unable to save her mother nor the pack alpha's son and so she found herself exiled and alone. So she knows never to reveal her talent to anyone else - not even the man who has been in her dreams for years. Wolf shifter Spencer Tate is her mate but her visions have always told her that he will renounce her and so when he doesn't initially recognise her as his mate she agrees to a non-strings affair that he offers to her because she is convinced it is the most she could ever hope for even though her heart breaks as she falls deeper in love with him. When Spencer finally comes to his senses he really has his work cut out to persuade Eliza that he actually wants her forever. Using the determination he developed as the pack enforcer, he refuses to settle for anything else and is determined to fight for what is his and refuses to accept anything other than Eliza as his marked and claimed mate. Can he finally persuade her?
I enjoyed this story even if the determination that Eliza used to constantly refuse him became a little wearing. Thankfully she did eventually accept that she could have everything and that she had the power to change the future if she just took action based on the information that she had. I felt sorry for Eliza and just wanted Spencer and his brothers to take action against her old alpha for the way that he treated her but maybe they decided that he wasn't worth the effort. I loved the references back to Spencer's grandmother who sounds like a formidable woman that I would have loved to hear more about. Easy to read and understand the thoughts and emotions of the various characters in this book. Contains some explicit sexual content.
#3 - Thrown to the Wolves - 3*
Brought up as a wolf shifter like her parents, Annora Channing's world is thrown into chaos after her first shift and she discovers that she is actually a bear shifter. As soon as her father realises that she is not his daughter he finds a way to use her existence for his own advantage and ensure that she is removed from under his roof. When it goes from bad to worse Annora spaces but is badly wounded, but thankfully Elias Reve finds her as he travels to Wolf's Point to find the daughter he thought he had lost many years ago. So with no other option, Annora joins him only to find her own mate. Wolf Shifter Parker Tate knows Annora is his at the moment that he sees her and so when he manages to make and mark her within hours he considers himself the luckiest man alive. Then the trouble around Annora finds her and Parker realises that the path to finally claiming his mate will not be easy and that is before he considers the bears who are now involved. Will everything work out in the end?
I enjoyed this story which had a lot of drama, danger and happiness all rolled into a novella-length story. I was thrilled for Annora when she found so many reasons to be accepted and part of a loving family which I really hope made up for all the trauma and sadness that she experienced earlier in her life. It seemed weird to me that her mother would be able to not know who the father of her child was as I thought that a shifter would know at least the race of their baby. Easy to read and understand. Contains some explicit sexual content.
This was an interesting read for me. This box set came up under a recommendation because of another book I read. When I saw that it was available for free download, I thought why not? Attempting to expand my horizons, I've been trying to read more mature content to see if it really is something that I could get into. So far, I haven't had the best of luck. Fortunately, this box set is filled with three really good stories that also happen to have parts of the stories that I could do without (I did some skipping around).
Graphic or vulgar language, violence, mature, and sexual content are not things that I shy away from but an excess of these things just turn me off. Usually, when I find a story that has these things in access, I can't even pay attention to the story; usually, it’s not a story worth paying attention to. However, with the Black River Pack series, it was different. I really enjoyed these stories. It bothered me that I had trouble staying connected to them because of some of the content, but I was able to look over some of it, to get to the rest of the story. I will wholeheartedly admit, after a while, I was able to establish the pattern of how and when the undesirable scenes would show up and I was able to skip through quite a few of them.
A hot and heavy or steamy sex scene is not a big deal to me, however, if it’s written in such a way that screams “shock value” it just doesn't appeal to me. With that said, this author's writing is really good. While I didn't have the stomach to sit through all her sex scenes, the few that I did sit through weren't too frequent; they just weren't to my liking. They were too graphic and vulgar for my taste, but they might be suitable for someone else. Still, whatever your taste is in mature content, if you can get past it like I did, you'll probably really enjoy these stories.
I'd been wanting to get into a shifter story for a while since I kind of stayed away from them for a long time. The Black River pack series was just what I was looking for in terms of story content. We have three alpha-male shifters, all about to meet the women they're supposed to be mated to. The stories are cliched in a lot of ways, but they’re some of the best cliches out there for people looking to read these types of romantic/shifter stories. Plus, each story has a real and extensive plot. While I’ll admit that the male characters seemed more developed beyond their individual installments than their female counterparts, the women were given their due when they were being spotlighted.
Within this box set, there is a legitimate crime/mystery happening in one story, mystical elements introduced on top of the whole shifter thing, and you get to see a storyline developed around relationship regret, which I thought was really good. And then there seems to be an underlying tone of diversity, acceptance, intermingling, and tolerance.
Overall, I did enjoy this box set but considering that I had to skip through a lot of the content, I couldn't give the series a really high rating (plus, I can’t vouch for the content I skipped over). Still, I'm glad I had an opportunity to write this review. I honestly think this will be a great story for someone else. I will recommend this story to people who I know like werewolves, vampires, and other shifter stories (with a content advisory and warning about me skipping around).
