Author's reminiscences about the animals in the sanctuaries of India. A wonderfully entertaining exploration of the lives of the rarest of animals in India. The book introduces numerous animal species of India that are in imminent peril, victims of human greed and callousness. It tells the stories of their births and deaths, their elaborate strategies of survival and their baffling idiosyncrasies.
A very good book on forest adventures, trekking and endangered species. Though looks novel like, but the experiences the author has encountered are very well described. More importantly, he illustrates at a lot of places how poachers and international trade for animal products are becoming a big threat to the species that are getting added to the endangered list - Rhinos, Musk deer and the National animal of India - The Tiger. Indeed a very good book by the author who has a rich experience in wildlife research
