Wild West #3

Something About a Bounty Hunter

Rate this book
Wes Roshannon, bounty hunter extraordinaire, always gets his man, but he’s having a tough time looking for the father he never knew. A lead takes him to the doorstep of a local, very private biker club where admittance is exclusive. And can be downright dangerous. Wes is used to putting it all on the line, until he’s blindsided by a vision with long dark hair and flashing eyes.

Stormy thought she was content living in the shadow of the Bighorns giving her dad’s biker club its name, wrapped in the safety of a group she’s come to think of as family. That’s until the big man, asking questions and raking her with his steel gray eyes, has her thinking of living her life on her own terms, away from watchful eyes and parental concern.

Wes is far too involved with the gorgeous brunette to be intimidated by her biker family, and not even her growly, overbearing father will keep Wes away from her. But when he hunts a bail jumper right to the club’s front door, he’s torn between love, loyalty and the law.

Omg! What a fantastic read.We loved the story from cover to cover. There was so much going on to keep you interested and turning the pages. This was one HOt ! Hot ! Hot ! book.

This story had everything things I love, The story had really great characters,a bit of suspense, characters had a sense of humor and interesting plot and tons of hot sex and secrets long buried coming to light not only that a very possessive bad ass biker dad not wanting to let go of his little girl.

Favorite character would have to be Stormy.I loved her from the onset as she had one of those bubbly personalities, she made me laugh and cry, had a great sense of humor, was love-able,sweet,kind caring, and one very large heart. She was easy to love.

Wes he was possessive, had a sense of humor, handsome, stopped at nothing to get what he wanted, sexy, kind, caring and just so love-able and a man of beliefs and a truth seeker.

The chemistry between Stormy and Wes was explosive. The made one hot couple in an out of bed.The made the perfect couple. The sex scenes were super hot and you felt the chemistry and the love between them.Wes has really met his match in Stormy and is perfect for him in every way.

I really loved the main characters and as well as all the side characters especially Stormy's father what a hoot he was.The plot was interesting with Wes being a bounty hunter but not only that he was on the hunt to find his real father and doing so uncovered some hard truths that were laid to rest a long time ago.

I love it when you can connect with the characters you are reading about and I can say that I loved Stormy and Wes from the onset of the story and I just new with a name like Stormy whatever path that girl was going to take would be fill with many twists and turns and it was.

Final thoughts

We absolutely loved the story and once we opened the first few pages we were glued to them and before we new it the story was over and we were sorry it ended.

A recommend read to all and I will be definitely reading the rest of the books in this series as well.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. This is the third book in this series and we have been introduced to Wes in the previous 2, but now we are going to know about him. He is a bounty hunter and was raised with his cousins and loved and was loved an taken care of by his aunt and uncle but he always wondered about his father. So he starts looking for him in motorcycle clubs. He loves the MC life but he is also a cowboy when he goes home. He ends up meeting Stormy who was raised in the MC life since her childhood due to the fact that father is the president..And the sparks fly my friends, you need to read to know what happens next. Enjoy!

This story for me was missing something that would take it into the next level and be more than an ok read.

Wes/Dirty is a bounty hunter not only looking for his man he’s also looking for a father he never knew. Stormy is the daughter of one of the local MC leaders. During one of Wes’s search for his father he finds himself face to face with a gorgeous brunette, the two of them are taken with each other. Stormy’s MC family members are not enthused by Wes’s interest in Stormy.

Of course there is no greater draw than when you can’t have someone. The first time Dirty takes Stormy for a ride on his bike there is loads of chemistry. Great descriptions and the author does a great job of giving a good steamy build up. Unfortunately the first time the two of them are intimate it’s like a needle scratching over a vinyl record, their dialogue is so cheesy it comes across like two love struck teenagers “I love you” “No I love you more” “No I love you more” insert heaving breasts and randy grin. To be honest I skipped over the parts when these two got naked as the dialogue was just killing me.

The transitions within the storyline was a bit choppy, sometimes I wondered if I had missed a page or two because it jumped into another part of the story. The great big build of Wes finding his father and the subsequent reveal was so anti-climactic that you could have almost missed the big emotional catharsis it was supposed to be, it just read as another day with a small event.

At one point Wes refers to himself as “The Law” he is a bounty hunter he is not an officer of the law. In some states being a bounty hunter is illegal so not sure why he thinks he’s the law. Although there are parts of the story where he says he’s gone undercover, which almost makes him sound like he actually works for the police and was a deep undercover operative that part of the story is a bit murky.

The story tries very hard to put drama and angst out there but for me it just read as flat and not that memorable. At one point I had even forgotten Dirty’s real name and had to reread a bit to jog my memory. The story itself isn’t awful, like I said for me it was just missing something that would resonate with you and draw you in. The author does have some good descriptors about certain things within the story and there are parts where I actually got a little interested but it had lost my attention after the first two chapters and I read a few other books before coming back to finish. I have read books over twenty years ago that some of the characters still wander through my mind unfortunately this book does not fall into that category.

Nothing about it stands out

Something About a Bounty Hunter by Em Petrova is a an OK book. Not a bad book at all. The editing is first-rate, the writing is smoothly readable, it's part of a series but works as a standalone, and it's easily better than a lot of mass market romances. But something about SAABH is just missing. The hero, Wes "Dirty" Roshannon is an angsty ex-con, bounty hunter, biker, and cowboy, with abandonment and daddy issues. He's noble and purehearted, for an alpha-male sex god. What he isn't, is a believable person. This dude wears too many hats - and none of them fit well. His daddy issues seem overblown for a man who was raised from birth in a close, loving and supportive extended family home. He joined a biker club - in prison - no clue how they managed to take club rides. His bounty-hunting career is supposedly successful, yet he's clueless about how to use forensic methods to solve his own family mystery, despite having family members in law enforcement. And he violates every biker club code in the known Harley Davidson universe, but the bikers accept him into the clubhouse with minimal blood loss. He falls for biker chick Stormy, daughter of the club prez, no less, and decides to give up the biker life and take her back to the ranch for their HEA. Then he discloses that his latest bounty is her bad-boy biker brother/ club prez' son - so Dudley Doright! This guy's character, his purpose, and his thinking are so nebulous and ill-defined it's hard to get into his head or his heart. Stormy is a moto-Cinderella who does women's stuff for the biker boys, and whatever Daddy/Prez says. Not much personality, killer body, and it's clear her main motivation for being with Dirty is to get the bleep outta Dodge. She wants the ranch life he can offer, until the bounty-hunter issue crops up, at which point she dumps him... NO SPOILERS. I won't say you can tell what's coming, because it isn't exactly what you'd expect, but it isn't particularly dramatic, exciting, or even a total surprise, either. And that about sums up the whole book.

Normally I am not a fan of books that center around the happenings of motorcycle clubs. It is a lifestyle I'm just not interested in and to be honest, turned off by. While "Something About A Bounty Hunter" focuses on Wes seeking out answers about his mother and father through interacting with various motorcycle clubs and eventually his becoming a member of the Bighorns to gain access to Stormy, a woman who intrigues him, there is enough going on in this story away from the club to keep me interested and thoroughly engaged with the story. Time is spent on the Eagle Crest ranch, where plenty of cowboy activities and antics ensue. Characters from previously loved books in this series are present: Aunt Winter and Uncle Matthias, Judd and Cecily, and Aiden and Amaryllis. It is always a joy to spend time with characters the reader may have already formed an emotional investment in by having read their stories.

Wes is a bit of a mystery. His parental lineage, his job as a bounty hunter, and especially the fact that he worked undercover with the government. There are so many secrets to unearth and yet throughout their unraveling, he is a man of high morals and integrity. Toss in a body of sin and sexy good looks and his story immediately draws you in. While Stormy is described as having been raised as part of the motorcycle club to which her dad is a leader, I wish her character and backstory had been described and developed a bit more. I finished the book wishing I had developed a stronger connection to her character. I just wanted to know more about what made her tick beyond her passion for Wes and the desire to experience life outside of the club.

Overall, this book is extremely well written, with enough plot twists and steamy passion woven into the story to keep any reader riveted to the pages. Definitely worth the time and money to read.

Em Petrova writes super great stories with each and every book. This book has lots of twists and turn and keeps you on the edge of your seat. Wes "Dirty" Roshannon is the last of the "cousins" to fall in love - but it will not be an easy road for him. He has a lot of questions about his parents and he wants the answers now so he dons a MC Club persona and tries to find his father. What he finds is Stormy - a club member who he falls for very quickly. The MC Club does not know he is a bounty hunter by trade and they ask him to join the club. Dirty readily does because it will let him get closer to Stormy - much, much closer! This is a sizzling hot read with characters who pop off the page. It is a romantic, steamy, suspenseful story with a lot of secrets to keep you guessing about Stormy and Dirty. The question is "Will the secrets end this relationship?" Something About a Bounty Hunter is a very hard book to put down - a real page turner and it packs a heck of a punch! The sex is off the charts - raw and readable. There is super charged heat that is captivating and emotional. When the secrets start to surface there will be tearsso have the tissues ready! There is laughter, anger, fear, confusion, hope, joy, sadness and love wrapped up in this book. The ending - lovely - so epic. I received free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.

Cowboy or biker, Wes was everything Stormy needed…

Give me a fave author writing about a cowboy and I am happy. Add a strong female lead and a sexy story and I’m in reading heaven! That pretty much sums up my thoughts on this family-filled romance that (finally) has Wes receiving his well deserved, happily ever after. He wasn’t looking for romance. No, he was searching for his father when Stormy crossed his path….

Wes is the perfect book boyfriend. Handsome, salt-of-the-earth, and sexy, sexy, sexy. He loves his family (*swoon*) and, more importantly, likes them. He feels guilty even though he can’t let go of his search for where he came from. He is a bounty hunter. He is a biker. At the core he is a man of the land with a cowboy soul, beautiful inside and out…

Stormy recognizes all that he is from the minute she sees him. Insta-lust for sure but love isn’t far behind. She is happy with her MC family but knows she wants more. When Wes comes calling, her eyes (and heart) open up to life and love outside of the compound walls… She is going to convince her Dad that Wes is everything he could want for her because she knows that’s the truth…
If you are looking for super hot and sexy with an emotional zing than you have found the right book!

I couldn't wait to get my hands on this book and it certainly didn't disappoint. I loved meeting the Roshannon twins but now I wanted to know more about Wes, their cousin.

Wes is the bounty hunter in the family who has a side project that takes him to motorcycle clubs. He is a sweet farm guy all covered in bad boy leather! I loved reading about the confidence he had and when he meets Stormy he won't let anything come between them, not a MC or a overprotective father.

I adored Stormy!! She was a devoted daughter who helped out the club in whatever they needed especially with anything that was a fundraiser. The part of her I liked the most was that even though she grew up in the club she knew she wanted something different or more out of life. I also liked that she stood up to her father on multiple occasions when he was being out of control. Another aspect of Stormy that I liked was when she found out what Wes was and the direction his new case took him, she stepped back, not because she didn't love him, but she didn't want him to resent her or make him question his morals.

This was an amazing book and I highly recommend it.

Something About A Bounty Hunter is the third book in the Wild West Series. Wes feels at home on his ranch with a horse, or in leathers in a motorcycle club. He hunts for fugitives and for answers and found Stormy. She grew up in the MC lifestyle but always knew there’s something else for her out there. When Wes shows up, he opens her eyes and her heart. But when the truth about who he is and his job comes out, will Stormy be able to forgive and love Wes?

Wow, this book pulled at my heart. I’ve been curious about Wes for a while and the poor man is just pulled in so many directions. The feelings of needing to belong, love, honor, and duty all yanking him in different directions made me wish even I could settle his mind and heart. Stormy was amazing for him, though, supporting Wes without asking too many questions. Their chemistry just about melted my kindle and this book seemed a little more steamier than the previous two. This book could definitely stand alone, but you’ll understand the other Roshannon relationships better reading the first two. I really enjoyed reading this book and I have really loved and recommend this series!

Bounty hunter and biker, from jeans an a stetson to leather an a Harley, Wes can do it all and make it look good!
Wes is searching for something and joining an MC seems to be the way to find it, but what he finds is so much more.
Looking for the truth about his past he meets Stormy. She's not a club whore or any of that, she happens to be the daughter of a highly respected member and that makes her practically untouchable, especially to an outsider.
One look at Wes and she's sunk, she's willing to stand up to her father for him. What's more important is that he's willing to do the same for her, not backing down because of who he is.
Their relationship starts off hot an heavy and then secrets come out, when the truth about both of them is front and center can their budding relationship survive it?

Loved these characters, I mean who doesn't love a Roshannon man? The heat level is high as is expected with the author, the story is a pretty quick read, is well written and had me engaged in the first chapter.

OMG…..a sexy man in leather, astride a sleek and powerful Harley, what more could a girl want? That same cool drink of water wearing wranglers, a tight t-shirt and a Stetson, that’s what!

Wes Roshannon has a past that pulls at his soul, and a craving to know why he was raised by the only family he has ever known. Wes loves the Roshannons as much as any real parents, but the need to know who his father is will drive him to enter a world outside his beloved ranch and the people who have been his whole life.

While all the Roshannons have found a place in my heart, Wes has touched me just a little bit more. I worried that pairing him with a girl from a biker gang would change him on some level, but nothing could be further from the truth. Stormy is a vivacious character, with a desire for more than the life she has known within the confines of the biker world. A sweet, sexy and pleasant surprise, she is just what a sexy cowboy/Biker needs. But have a tissue handy, as the ending to this book will make you shed a tear or two.

Thank you Ms Petrova, for this wonderful series.

In this installment it’s Wes’s turn for his story to be told and what a story it turns out to be.. This book is packed full of action, passion, family. You also get to see more of the Roshannon’s as we uncover a big family secret. We get to see a few side of Wes as we see the cowboy side, bounty hunter side and the leather clad biker side and along the way Wes meets Stormy the daughter of the MC president. In true Roshannon fashion Wes falls and falls hard and because of his job happens that could kill the potential relationship before it gets started and Wes is torn as to what to do.. Which side will he chose and how will they cope with the impact of the family secret... once again we are drawn into the story and we don’t come up for air until we read the very last word. I love this series and can’t wait to read more of this family.

Em petrova has done an outstanding job with these Roshannon boys' story. I was hooked from the beginning and I cannot wait to see what she comes up with next. Each couple have their own individual story, but are all tied in together between their being family as well as lawmen.

Dirty has been wondering about his father his whole life, but never had a clue who it could be. He's a bounty hunter and makes his living hunting people down, but this man is the one bounty he's clueless to find. When he finds Stormy, his life changes in many different ways. Their story is so romantic and sweet. There's not as much adventure in their story as there was with Judd and Aiden, but it is still a wild ride with everything that happens.

I cannot wait to see what is in store next for this awesome series. I'm voluntarily reviewing an advanced reader copy of this book.

This was a very entertaining read I totally loved it. Very fast paced keeping you interested and invested from the plot to the characters. We have a bounty hunter MC biker who is very sexy depending on he is with such as family he is known by Wes with his biker he is known as dirty. All I can tell you is he is one sexy dude. He wants some answers and looks like they will be found at a biker club. He walks in his eye land on Stormy and his world is changed forever. Stormy feels the same but her father has a few things to say about it. I loved the pace, the hot steamy romance, the protective father all make it one hot romance that pulls you in. What is there not to love. The characters are great, the plot is wonderful, the twists and turns keep you hooked.

An Awesome Book!

I loved reading Something About a Bounty Hunter(Wild West Book 3), all about Wes Roshannon a Bounty Hunter & Stormy Bonner is twenty-four and the daughter of a BIG Horn biker dad. Wes has been looking for his real dad for the last several years and has taken up motorcycle riding to try and find him. He was in a bike shop and was admiring a nice hand crafted insignia when he inquired the owner said it was for the Big Horns. Wes/Dirty had never heard of this club before, they are very close knit group and you have to be invited in. The author wrote a story about a young women who only knows the ways of a biker club!
Read this story and find, out how Stormy & Dirty end up knowing each other! I have read the entire series book one thru three and fell in love with the whole Roshannon clan! I can not wait for Book 4 to come out next week!

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. This was a very entertaining story, thoroughly enjoyed it. It was fast paced and kept me interested from beginnng to end. Wes or Dirty, depends which hat he is wearing. He is Wes to his family and as a bounty hunter, but to the MC club, he is known as Dirty. Raised by his Aunt and Uncle, since he was a small child he longs to know who his real father is. He knows his mother was part of the Bighorns MC club, so he infiltrates the club hoping to get answers. There he meets Stormy and the attraction is instantaneous for both of them. Only problem, her over protective dad. Hot chemistry, plus a good storyline, I recommend this book.

Though raised equally with his cousins by his aunt and uncle, bounty hunter Wes Roshannon always wanted to know more about his parents. Not that Wes wasn’t grateful but he wanted to know why his mom dropped him off with her sister and who his father was. He only knew she’d been with a biker. Luck put Wes in the Bighorn MC’s path looking for answers but he almost didn’t care when he saw Stormy Bonner.

One look was all it took for Stormy to know she was on the wrong path in life and for him to know what he wanted for the rest of his life. Despite her father’s very vocal and very physical disagreement, Stormy and Wes’ romance couldn’t move smoother or quicker. Too smoothly when his new bounty turns out to be a club brother.

This is steamy, romantic, dramatic and suspenseful. Wes is tough, determined, lost, loyal and respectful. Stormy is sweet, naive, stubborn and bold. Wes gets drawn in to the club because of his search for his father, and because the minute he sets eyes on Stormy he wants her. But he also has a completely different life at his family's ranch, and being a bounty hunter. While he's torn between his worlds, a couple of twists, and a couple of challenges come up. The storyline grabs your attention and keeps you turning the pages.

Another good read from Em Petrova!

This time we're in the company of Wes Roshannon, cousin to the twins in books 1 & 2 of the series.

But is he really a cousin?

In order to find the answer to this question, Wes, rancher turned bounty hunter, joins an MC.
There he meets Stormy, and her overprotective father. As the sparks between Wes and Stormy fly, he finds the answer to his question, and the fugitive he's been sent to capture.

Their relationship doesn't run smooth, there would be no tension or drama if it did, but this just adds to the appeal of the book, along with some rather dry humour.

What's a bounty hunter to do when he's undercover and has fallen in love with the fugitive's sister? Wes has his hands full enjoying the lifestyle of ranching & biking. He has to prove himself to Stormy's dad over & over but he's not threatened. He went in looking for information of his true parents, found Stormy and ended up learning his next bounty was connected to the club. Nothing he can't handle until Stormy learns the truth about "Dirty". NOW, his work is cut out for him. A great read with a little mystery, some action and a whole lot of loving. This is my honest review for a book given to me by the author.

Stormy is the daughter of a member of a biker club. Dirty who’s real name is Wes is a bounty hunter and an undercover biker who is looking for a bounty. The instant chemistry between the two is so strong that no one could stop them. Stormy is trusting and wants more of a life with Dirty then just the club. Dirty is keeping a few big secrets that he fears will turn Stormy against him and he will do anything for her to stay with him.
This was a story of attraction, suspense and a great HEA. This is the first book in the series that I have read but I go back and read the others.

Wes (Dirty) wears many hats; Biker, bounty hunter, rancher, cowboy. On a search for answers to his past, Dirty meets Stormy, who is firmly ensconced in the MC and the sparks fly.

I really liked Stormy, who would stand up to her father. Always like a strong female character.

I really don't care for the MC genre, but I think the fact that Wes moved between worlds made this one easier.

A sexy, romantic, steamy ride that is also, intense, with a multitude of challenges, and action to boot.

I can't say enough about Em Petrova. I love her stories and this one is no exception. The plot was good. I was hooked from the very beginning. The story-line flowed smoothly throughout. The characters I thought were well-developed and easily relatable. The only downside to the story was finding out who Wes' father was. That was a little let down even though I could kind of see it coming. I can't wait to read what Em Petrova has coming out next!. I love the Roshannon men and will miss them....

A really good MC romance.💖🏍

Wes or "Dirty" is a bounty hunter who is very good at his job. But he's also using his skills to track down the father he never knew. That's how he meets Stormy. Stormy is the daughter of an MC leader whose group may hold the final key to who his father is. But as he gets to know the MC members and Stormy, he gets another job... one that might just destroy everything he's been working for.

This book is really easy to follow and the passion is amazingly hot.💞🔥

Wes went looking for answers about his unknown father and instead found Stormy, the woman he soon discovered was meant for him and only him.

Stormy wants her MC club life, but she also wants something else - can she find that with 'Dirty'? The road isn't smooth for these two and family and work will try to pull them apart, but it's during these times in my opinion that their characters shine through.

A good story, good characters, good relationships and a good connection between Wes and Stormy.

Wes has struggled for a long time about his parents. He had a wonderful life with his aunt, uncle, and cousins but has to know. While on his hunt, he meets Stormy. She is the daughter of the leader of a motorcycle club.
Wes needs to have Stormy in his life but when things come to a head, they both have decisions to make.
