[1.5 stars] book was disappointing, plot is ok but execution was a failure. last few chapters are too rush. there is practically no in depth development between blake n emma after their one night together. blake save emma from being attacked by trevor and next chapter they were in greece, and blake propose to emma in the same chapter, like huh??

overall the book is just very superficial. probably not reading other books from this author.

There is Emma who was a college student when her parents died. She got a degree that was totally useless in finding a job so right now she works at a coffee shop. Then there is Blake, an alpha male that does what he wants. When Emma finds out that her parents hadn't paid off her college but took out loans that she now owes more than $100K, she needs to find a way to pay them. She gets invited to an auction, one night with a man and he can do whatever he wants and she gets money. She believes this will help her with her debt. Blake is invited by his friend to the auction and goes to see what's what but has no intention on bidding. Until he sees Emma and it spurs something in him. He pays way more than he planned on but he has to have her. After one night, he wants more. Will they be able to make things work? Will their feelings lead to more? You'll need to read the book to find out.

This was another well written story by this author. It was a quick read and is a great choice for a lazy afternoon. Emma and Blake were perfect together. They were good for each other. I enjoyed it.

Blake🐺🍆🌋 is a wealthy sailboat ⛵designer of large ⛵sailboats for the rich. He loves to ⛵sail, and tries to design his ⛵sailboat yachts so they can be sailed ⛵ alone or with a very small crew. He keeps himself very fit and spends as much time as he can on the ocean.
His childhood friend, Trevor👹, is one of the uber wealthy trust fund kids that never had to work for anything. Trevor👹 is a tenth degree womanizer and is always trying to get Blake🐺🍆🌋 to go out to the bars with him.
When Trevor👹 tells him about an exclusive, secret, human auction party, Blake🐺🍆🌋 is intrigued. He wants to go see what it's all about.
Emma💃💋 has a degree in the Classics, pretty useless, right? She knows it, and that's why she's working as a barista ☕.
Her friend Hannah💋 is a social butterfly, and when Emma💃💋 gets a fancy invitation to an exclusive party, she knows Hannah💋 is behind it.

This is the story about Emma, she is a barista at Anchor Coffee, where, against her better judgement, she has to open at 6am,,, but, she gets up everyday and goes to work,,, and she's doing ok until she hears from some student loan place that she is behind on her payments,,, she didn't even know she HAD any student loans,,,,she was telling her gfs about this and noticed her one gf has a new purse, a Louis Vuitton at that,,,, Emma asked where she got it,,, she said she inherited a small sum if money,,, Emma left it at that,,,,,

Blake is an Alpha Billionaire and us owner of his own company,,,, he builds boats,,, like yacht type boats and he is very good at it,,, he has an immature friend named Trevor and he has to listen to everything Trevor has to tell him,,, Blake us st the bar with Trevor and locks eyes with this beautiful woman across the room at the bar they are at,,, but, then she's gone,,,,

This is a story about Emma, a Barista at a local coffee shop and Blake, a very Alpha Billionaire, who owns a sail boat / yacht building company.

Out of the blue, Emma finds out that her late parents, had paid her college tuition by taking out loans and with them passing the debts have fallen to her.

When Emma suddenly gets a strange invitation, she knows her best friend Hannah is behind it and when she arrives at the party, she finds out she’s actually there to be auctioned off to the highest bidder! Desperate to pay the loans of, she agrees to go through with it.

Blake wouldn’t normally go to a party/auction like this is, but is convinced to go by his careless lifelong friend, Trevor, on the basis that he is a simple bystander only, that is until to spots Emma.

Seeing her about to be auctioned brings out his possessive side and shocked him that he felt that way. Determined that no one else can have her, he bids the highest.

A bit of meddling from his ‘friend’ Trevor and further misunderstandings, means things get complicated, can they cone through this and get their HEA.

Another great read by Charlotte Byrd.

Blake a billionaire yacht designer is not into relationships. His best friend Trevor invites him to a human auction party. Blake is curious and decides to attend. He sees Emma the beautiful woman from the bar. Emma has discovered she has a massive debt due to school loans her parents took out for her college tuition. She works in a coffee shop and has no way of paying this debt. Emma receives an invitation to this auction and decides to participate. Blake wins a night with Emma but he wants more. She is uncertain about seeing Blake again but she finally agrees. Unfortunately he stands her up. His best friend Trevor is supposed to explain the situation to Emma but he doesn't bother. How “Acquired” continues is emotional, surprising, romantic and sexy. This captivating, quick read grabbed me from the first page. A one-click must.

This was another enjoyable romance between Emma & Blake. Emma is a barista and Blake is billionaire business owner. Blake & Emma first see each other from across the bar at a club, they make eye contact. Shortly after Blake & his friend Trevor leaves the club. Emma is invited to a "special" party. Her friend Hannah has already attended one of these parties and explains to Emma what they're about. At this party, Emma decides to participate in the auction. The highest bidder is
none other than the guy from the club. The spark is immediate and the chemistry is hawt! You'll have to read to see the obstacles they have to overcome to be together. You will enjoy this story! I received an ARC for my honest review.

This story is about Emma, a young woman who works in a coffee shop and doesn’t make much money. Then she finds out that she owes for college loans that her parents took out in her name even though they led her to believe that they paid her tuition. Now she owes over a hundred thousand in loans. Shortly after discovering this she finds an invitation at her door inviting her to a party. Only it’s not just a party, but she doesn’t find that out till she arrives with a friend who has been to one of these parties previously. It seems that some of the invitees are going to be auctioned. What happens after this is unbelievable and a surprisingly enjoyable. This was a happily ever after story.

Very well written short book with great storyline and plot. A sweet romance book. It is a nice read with very hot scenes. I like this story a lot. It has lots of drama, passion, emotions, hot scenes, twists and lots of chemistry. It is written in dual POV which gives the reader much more of the thoughts and feelings of the main characters Blake and Emma. Great romance with a twist and very enjoyable read though. I like to hear what happens in the future an epilogue would have been welcomed.

Lots of chemistry and hot scenes. I like the main characters and how they develop. The story flows nicely and it is very captivating from first to last chapter. The author has delivered a story that is worth the read!

Acquired by Charlotte is a amazing entertaining read. Emma a barista needs money to pay of her unexpected student loan. One evening she finds a mysterious envelope at her door inviting her to an exclusive party. Only after arriving at the Emma finds out why she was invited.
Blake a boat builder is invited by his best friend to a auction. It isn't your typical auction where you purchase art and collectibles.
The chemistry between Emma and Blake is instant but misunderstandings and jealousy will stand in their way to happiness.

A fast paced quick read
I voluntarily reviewing an ARC of Acquired by Charlotte Byrd. Blake Ericson, a premier architect and yacht designer, who ever had a long distance or short term relationship, as he mostly spends his time in water. Emma Taylor, graduated with a degree in classic, but works in coffee shop, who recently found that is overdue for her student loan. A short heated glance sharing at a bar previous night and ending up in a auction unintentionally next day, he is hell bend to own her has his. But what they finally Acquired is love forever.

To make his friend happy, Trevor invites Emma to attend an auction, and asks his friend Blake as well. Emma is to be auctioned. When Blake sees Emma there, he knows he has to have her. The question is, will something good, or bad happen as a result?...

I have been reading. Charlottesville books since Auctioned to him. I complained about the fact that she kept spreading the series out more and more and to date has not completed it. Now she has started to put out books with "happy endings" which are not much longer than the Auctioned series and cost $2.99 each. I would rather spend my money on Kira Blakely or other writers who charge .99 cents and give you a

Wow, this is a good story, a bit fast and the electricity between Blake and Emma is great and then BAM, it’s over. The whole story rushed into dating a week at the most and he puts a ring on it, the end. Could have been a great story.

A sweet romance between Emma and Blake: Emma is an independent young woman who just found out she has a massive debt from school loans to pay. She receives a strange invitation and calls her friend Hannah. Hannah already knows what it is and encourages Emma to go to this party. What Emma does not know is about the auction. Blake is an entrepreneur boat builder. He is wealthy and stable. The first time he sees Emma is when she was with her friends at a bar and then sees her picture at the auction. The story is about the interactions between and developing attraction and relationship between Emma and Blake. Trevor considers Blake his friend but is really not. When Trevor make an off color comment about Emma, Blake takes action. Trevor shows up at Emma's apartment upset and angry. You'll have to read it to find out the stunning conclusion to their dilemma and to the romance. I really enjoyed reading this quick story.

Acquired by Charlotte Byrd. I don’t know what happened? One minute I’m really getting sucked into the plot, I’m liking the characters, a really great foundation has been built, and then, BOOM, Story over, HEA, what the What?!? Only thing I can ascertain is either a) author was behind deadline and ran out of time to write a really, really good story, or b) author had a word limit, or c) author got tired of the story and just decided to end it... brusquely. Whatever the reason, it really is a shame. Charlotte Byrd had a great beginning to what could have been a truly fantastic book. I’m going to keep an eye out for her. This story might have been cut short prematurely, but I’m hoping she’ll be able to bring her next novel to full fruition. This title is free on KU and it is $2.99 for purchase on Kindle.

I voluntarily read an arc of this book for a fair and honest review. I lost every single arc I had received from this author in a kindle reboot (a moment of silence please for auctioned to him books 1 thru 5) so I backed Acquired up on all my devices. First and foremost I’m a huge fan of this author, I just felt like this book was a bit rushed. Her usual finesse is missing. I was left with questions. I won’t reveal who made sure Emma was invited to the auction but how did he know who she was, how did he know where she lived and how did he know exactly why she needed money? Sooo putting that aside, I loved Blake, I wish the book was longer and I’d like to see more about these characters.

A hot little romance ...

Blake was Emma’s salvation when he stepped in to make sure she’d be safe. However, Blake’s friend Trevor (him I so wanted to be able to slap) caused a misunderstanding that had Emma turning her back on Blake and sent Blake scrambling to find his way back to her. The auction premise is well played here and Charlotte Byrd writes a good story. There is passion and lust and steamy scenes and also romance and angst - all the ingredients needed for a hot romance.
