The Deadly Collector

A dead body pulled from the Chattahoochee River in Atlanta normally doesn’t attract a lot of attention, but when those bodies are missing large muscle groups, people become extremely alarmed. A deranged killer is collecting select body parts from his victims and tossing away the carcasses. This bizarre modus operandi has the Atlanta Homicide Unit referring to the killer as “The Collector.” Detective Tom “Brick” Brikler relentlessly hunts for the killer as the body count rises. Unfortunately for the citizens of Atlanta, The Collector is a clever as he is deranged, and seemingly leaves no evidence behind…or does he? This story chronicles Brick's desperate race to find the link between the victims and their murderer, a link, that if found, could end The Collector’s grisly reign of terror.

This book started out pretty good, but got stupid quickly. I couldn’t read any more of the dialogue. Kids in school can write a better, more engaging, conversation than this author. Time to put it up and start something better. Don’t waste your precious reading time on this one.

It was a good attempt. A fairly entertaining book. Bodies turn up with big chunks of muscle missing. Cannibalism? The who did it was not very hard to guess. Though the murders were supposedly gruesome, they failed to evoke strong emotions.

A solid 3.75. The storyline was good but some of the dialogue among characters was a bit too much for me. This is the first book that I've read from this author and I would read another.

Oh my goodness this guy has a gruesome imagination, but it was very well written. I am so happy he finally got an editor!
