I have taught crazy quilting for the last 17 years and I always look forward to every opportunity to share my love of crazy quilting with others. My children have grown up watching mommy "play" with her ribbons and are always patient with me when I get caught up in a project! For that I will always be grateful.
The first thing I loved about this book was the dedication.
It gives you an idea of just how this book is supposed to be used and why the author has titled it Joyful Daily Stitching.
Filled with beautiful and inspiring stitch work, it is not just a book about embroidery, it is a complete labour of love.
I just wish I could sew fast enough and show a sampler of all the stunning designs for my review.
There is a complete stitch demonstration of all the stitches and how they are created and using thread, ribbons and beads the effects are simply divine. If you love embroidery, this will a book that will fill you with excitement. it is amazing.
The stitches may seem difficult to achieve but with a little practice and dedication this book will be the perfect reference guide for beginners and advanced stitchers.
I really enjoyed this book, all manner of hand embroidery stitches are laid out and I was able to get in some good practice stitching, A few years ago I took part in her facebook group Joyful Embellishments when my interest in hand embroidery reawakened earlier in the year. Many of the stitches in the book are familiar from the group.
Embroidery with beads, ribbons, or just floss - hundreds of design ideas for embellishing seams and/or hems. Great for crazy quilting. Color photographs throughout.
A book filled with wonderful ideas for doing pretty seams on quilts. But these same decorative elements could be used on clothing as well. A book destined for my reference collection.
Packed with many stitch combinations I would have never thought of on my own, with clear pictures and the names of the stitches in each combination. I also loved how ribbon and beads were integrated in many of the combinations, and was thrilled to see flower and heart beads.
