Twelve men. Twelve brides. Twelve days to save a town.
A young war widow, a secret confession from the soldier chosen to return her deceased husbands belongings, and a forbidden kiss. Genevieve Walters has spent the last decade delving into her matchmaking mission work to quell the unsettled emotions the solider stirred within her. But a new mission will take her on a journey to Noelle, Colorado, where the magic of the season and fate will challenge her to face the past in the form of a mysterious mountain man. When his identity is revealed will she consider him her perfect match?
Making the promise to his Captain to return both his watch and letters to his wife should the unthinkable happen, wasn’t supposed to occur. Just like his midnight confession and the kiss he’d shared with the new widow that fateful night ten years ago. Zeke Kinnsion has survived the worst that life has thrown at him and has since found his peace as a fur trapper in mountains of Noelle. But fate is about to rattle his life when a familiar matchmaker breezes into town determined to marry off her twelve mail-order brides. Suddenly facing down a four-hundred-pound bear pales in comparison of once again facing the only woman he’s ever loved.

The Piper The Eleventh Day By Amanda McIntyre The Piper is such an interesting, fun, and enthralling book. I read it in one setting. Following Genevieve and Kyi-yee’s story and adventure brings laughter, tears and shouts of joy. This book is absolutely a must read, along with its companion books Twelve Days of Christmas Mail Order Brides series. All of Amanda’s books are attention grabbing. You can’t go wrong with any of her books.
Genevieve is rebuilding her life after her husband's death in the war. She's a matchmaker. She's traveled with a group of prospective brides to Noelle Colorado. Will she be able to find twelve husbands for her ladies? Genevieve is a strong and compassionate woman. She wants to prove that she's capable of accomplishing her mission. I liked her spunk. It's been difficult, but she won't give up. When she meets Kyi-yee, she's drawn to this grumpy recluse. She tries to talk with him. However he runs away. I laughed as she chased him through the small town. She doesn't know that they've met before or that he knew her late husband. Zeke Kinnison/ Kyi-eye feels guilt over his brother's death. I knew it wasn't his fault. I wanted him to face his past and realize that he deserves love. He has so much to offer his woman. The cold, snowy setting is perfect for romance. When You combine that with the small town and all the newlyweds, you have a sweet, sensual love story. I'm so glad that Amanda McIntyre wrote a historical that gave us some background on the Kinnisons. I can't get enough of this family. This author writes from the heart. Her books warm my heart.
The Eleventh story in the 12 Days of Christmas and I was pleased that Genevieve Walters the matchmaker who arranged for the brides to come to Noelle from Denver would herself find love. This is one bride I didn't see coming in this series but I was routing for Kyi-eye aka (Zeke Kinnison) to have his story I was not disappointed this story made me laugh and cry the way Amanda created his character his attitude was amazing and I was hook. Genevieve was his perfect match and her adventure to get there made very good reading it was funny, charismatic and romantic its a must read and references to all the other couples married so far are made reminding us readers of the stories already told. I can't wait to read the last story now Amanda brilliantly leaves you wanting the final installment of Christmas in Noelle.
Genevieve is a matchmaker and she brought 12 women to Noelle Colorado in order to find them husbands. The town is going to die because the mine which drew people is about to run out of gold. Like other mining towns, when the mine is played out, people move on to an new location.
In order to get a railroad spur, there needs to be a growing population and getting people married is a strong way to create a growing population.
I could simply not get into this story.
Since this is part of a series, it may have been that I felt lost. Whatever the reason, although I liked the characters, I felt that I was lost in the plot.
I am sure it is just me.
Ms McIntyre has created some interesting and layered characters. But, this story was not for me.
I sometimes find Mail-Order bride type stories either boring or too short, some maybe in between so I don't often read them. She is a match maker and had organized the mail order brides for marriage. The reason behind all the brides was to save a town and see the rail line put through. Most brides are married except 2. The groom for the 11th bride does not appear and has left town so she needs to find another groom. A mountain man just appears but wants nothing to do with marriage. He had once been in love with the match maker. When his identity is revealed she marries him instead. So not much in the way of action but never the less was a sweet story.
The premise of this well researched and written historical Christmas romance series - The 12 Days of Christmas in a small mountain town (Noelle, Colorado) post Civil War makes the reader waking up at midnight to begin the new book and at the end of the story wanting more. Amanda McIntyre is a new author for this avid reader and I enjoyed her writing style. From the foreshadowing in BOOK 1, this romance is unexpected, but the twist in the story made sense. Eleven Brides and One to Go. Will Noelle be saved?
The woman in charge of the Christmas Mail Order Brides suddenly found herself first short of a groom, and then a bride. An encounter with a mountain man brings back old memories of a brief encounter after the war. As she tries to put together a match she finds herself wondering about his blue eyes and a stolen kiss. Will fate bring her back to the man she thought she would never see again? And will the gruff mountain man reach past his isolation & grief for his late brother. Only in Noelle this Christmas.
I have loved this entire series. I can't believe it has come to an end. This is a must read series. I feel in love with each character and felt like I lived through them. Without giving anything away, I will just say. It's a must read. I would love to see more of the town and what the future holds for each and every person, as well as the town.
Amanda McIntyre offers the most surprising story in the series. This tale starts out as 'Bad Luck Penny's' turn at matrimony. When her intended groom flees town, will she be able to find another opportunity to become bride number 11 or will Noelle lose its chance of the railroad coming to town? Multiple couples crop up as possible solutions but you have to read the whole story to find out what happens.
First the groom to be runs away, then the bride to be decides she's had enough. The pastor and Mrs. Walters are fast running out of candidates. When Genevieve discovers that the mountain man who has come to Noelle is none other than Zeke Kennison, a young soldier who had brought the news of her husband's demise - well, let's just say things might just be looking up.
I simply loved this story. The pace, the storyline the characters., it's hard to put into words. I didn't want this story to end,. There was a sensuality about Genevieve and Zeke that hummed throughout the story- perfect. And, the letters what I wouldn't give to receive those letters. Just simply a beautiful story.
Such a well written and intriguing ebook. Kept me reading non stop. Mrs Walters is a strong woman, who was widowed at a young age. Her husband had gone off to war. She found out about his death from a solider, who had been in close contact with Mr. Walters.
Hero: Heroine: Reading Enjoyment:4.5* Another great story in this series that is filled with fun, love and intrigue.. The story progressed steadily, has well developed characters with witty/humorous dialogue and a fun developing plot.
Man, each book is so creative and unique in this wonderful series! I can't even begin to tell you which book I loved most! This one had a very special twist, I know you'll enjoy!
I loved this sweet story, wished it were longer just because I became so involved in their past history and their love story. But as it was with each of these stories in this series, it had a satisfying ending to a very HEA. JudyE
2.5 stars. The story was just as good as some of the other stories in the series that I 3-4 starred, but this one suffered from the same type of poor editing that one of the other ones did. I really wanted to love it, but in the end I just liked it.
This book in the series started slow, but it took off and finished very well. It's a sweet story that had me thinking of loves that I have had and let slip through my fingers.
As the series starts to wind down we see the matchmaker come to the realization that romance has passed her by. Now of course, that's not allowed! Lovely story and a great read!
I have to say these books are amazing and I highly recommend that you read all 12 books. The stories are delightful and each author did a wonderful job tying in all the stories.
This book is part of the 12 Days of Christmas Mail-Order Brides and I have enjoyed the few that I have read. The matchmaking in this one doesn't go so easy but it's great to see how it turned out . Amanda hit a double with this one!
Oh my heart! The romance between Zeke and Genevieve was so beautiful. I only wish the dialogue between them while he was bathing would have lasted a little longer, and that there would have been an extended epilogue...in other words, I didn't want this to end! Loved it ❤️
This book is my favorite in the series. I have loved each of these books, thus is my favorite. The characters and story line are wonderful. Thank you for a great read.
This book was another great addition to the series. I'm so happy things worked out the way they did. It was fun learning more about the residents and town itself.
This 12 Days of Christmas series is a heartwarming series. This sweet story of bringing two people who met long ago back together is written with gentle love.
