The Yuletide holiday approaches, and Special Agent Raven Storm is looking forward to spending the holiday with her fiancée Aspen Kincaid and their closest friends. They've decorated a tree and stockings are hung by the chimney with care for the first time in decades. When the body of Jensen Murphy, a lycan, is found with a silver bullet in his skull, Raven is forced to abandon her plans and take the case. As a winter storm freezes the city and darkens the holiday mood, Raven discovers the Renegades have far more dangerous plans than a dead lycan. She's all that stands between the most powerful cadre the world has ever seen, and the bloody end of House Tempeste . Deadly Merry Witchmas.

Skye Knizley is the USA Today bestselling author of the Storm Chronicles series, an urban fantasy tale that mixes mystery, magic and horror, Midnight Roads, her homage to road movies with a dash of mystery and horror and the Shadowlands series of modern adventure/mysteries. All of her books feature strong female leads who can hold their own the men and then some, witticisms and of course Skye’s trademark snark.

Skye lives in the middle of nowhere, the small town life appeals to her and is conducive to writing. When she isn’t writing Skye can be found camping, motorcycling and hiking with her psychotic Siberian husky.

Skye is also a proud gamer girl and an avid fan of roleplaying games. She currently participates in a weekly game held at a local gaming store (stop in and say ‘hi!’) and is the writer and game-master of a private Fantasy Flight Star Wars game held once a month.

Story line ok

I really did not like this book as much as the others. The ending was awful. You really need to bring the character back. I am not going to spoil it for everyone but the ending was bad.

A Freezing Foreboding

•••NOT for the homophobic, transphobic, closedminded, or feint of heart!•••

This series must be read in order. The first book is

Coming back from the dead is becoming a habit for Raven. Too bad that being frozen and dead for 70 plus odd years has left her a bit broken and unable to ever get truly warm. She was aware and yet not. Trying to describe the ordeal has her at a loss for words... And then there are the nightmares. Never ending and terrifyingly real, they haunt any bit of sleep she gets. If something doesn't change soon she might just go insane! Valentina is still ill and no one knows exactly how to cure her. Half measures and maintaining her current state just isn't good enough! The Renegades are still running around Chicago, nipping at the edges of the Court, trying to destabilize the current Tempeste reign, swearing that they will bring back Strohm and reestablish his *rightful* rule. They are stark raving mad! Every single last one of them! Will Raven ever feel alive and warm again? Or will her multiple deaths drag her down into a final, permanent death? Will she ever understand her true nature? What exactly does it mean to be half Immortal and half life blooded vampire? Who is killing people so horrifically? And why? Will they ever be able to put the Renegades down for good? Or will dealing with them become the new normal? Can she ever get past her time in the past? Can she and Aspen have a real holiday or will she eventually lose her due to her inability to turn down work or duty? Will they ever be able to cure Valentina? Who or what is behind the recent spate of ritualistic murders? What exactly are they trying to accomplish? Will things ever go back to the way they were? Or at least become tolerable?

This was the best story ever!!! (minus one scene that had me in tears!!!) Raven is back, kicking ass and better than ever as she fights to save her city and her friends once again! Packed with nonstop action, adrenaline rush, surprises, and a few tears! I was on the edge of my seat with my heart racing as I turned pages waiting to find out what's going to happen next! You could not ask for a better book than this... it was well written, amazing characters, and one hell of a story that will have you hooked from start to finish! I can't wait to see what the author has planned for her readers in the next book! she never disappoints!!!!

It's never easy being a cop.

Or a vampire princess. Especially when everyone wants something from you, usually at the same time. However, a red-haired Storm can certainly rain on somebody's parade if that's what it takes to meet her obligations!

I suppose you can enjoy Deadly Storm if you haven't read the preceding books, but why short yourself. Go get the first book and settle in for a rainy night filled with thunder and lightning. It's worth it!

Simply Amazing!!!

Just when you think that Skye can't outdo herself she goes and proves us all wrong. This story was simply amazing. So many little tidbits were revealed throughout the journey. Lots of laughs and some tears. The Storm Chronicles is one of my all-time favorites. Stormcry can't get here soon enough.

Decent but going in circles

This book wasn't bad. It did advance things a little. I took points off because it is a story that was used before. Also this feels like a detective story with vampire politics crammed in just because. The house tempeste politics aren't really a big part of the story. I think the books would be better without the one mandatory court scene.

Great

Another great addition to the Raven Storm series. You get to see a little vulnerability in Raven and also a slightly softer side. Her love for Aspen really shows. But this book made me cry won't give anything away but have tissues near

Great book

I really enjoy this series. I know it will be different going forward and the ending was hard but it is true that life isn't always roses.
