And Tank decides he needs another opportunity to convince Amber to take a chance on him. Tank rearranges his life to be near Amber during the off-season. Unable to trust her instincts, she refuses to believe the sincerity of Tank’s pursuit and she holds herself back. With patience and a careful strategy, Tank begins to break down her walls. This was really, really good. Loved the writing. Sometimes you get in a reading slump where the usual suspects just aren't appealing. This was the perfect surprise to pull me out of it. I really enjoyed it. Really.
Rarely does a sequel meet my lofty expectations but in this case I may have actually liked Superstar more than Five Star. Maybe it was the plot twists I didn’t expect, or perhaps it was the complexity of the relationships in not only the main characters, but also the supporting characters that had me engrossed and not wanting the book to end. Whatever the reason, I was sucked deep into the stories of Tank and Amber, Molly and Franco, Keira and Tilly. I laughed, I cried and thoroughly enjoyed the ride.
