But she’s already been betrayed by one alien—her dead douchebag of a husband. Can she trust her future—and her children—to another?

This is my favourite book in the series. Although I read it first, I did not have any issues following the story of the human girl Shelley, the Garathani leader Cecine and his guard Hastion.

As I realised later on, when I finished second book “Enemy Overnight”, the action actually continues from book 2.
Shelley’s crazy -but dead now husband- almost destroyed the Garatyani ship. Pregnant Shelley becomes stressed enough and she has to give birth to her twins before she returns to Earth.

The problem is that the twins now according to the Garathani law belong to Garathani and if she wants to keep them, she needs to marry the leader of the ship and his second -if his wishes to have a second.

So, how things can become more complicated?
-Shelley becomes Cecine's mate and nobody informs her about it.
-Hastion steps in and requires to become Cecine's second because Shelley trusts him.
-Cecine demands Hastion's total submission until Shelley is ready to accept him.
-Hastion has too much fun with Cecine, but he doesn't want to admit it because he is embarrassed.
-Cecine is full of internal scars and he has difficulties letting either Shelley or Hastion see the real him. As a result he behaves like a total prick. Until he breaks.

I loved the way these three individuals’s love develops. The book of course is hot. If you like Sci-Fi erotica that it is very well written and includes MMF menage, I would recommend this book.

I am looking forward to the next book that it probably includes a naughty computer program and a clueless alien doctor.

This is a science fiction romance erotica.

The characters

Shelley, the female m/c, was the hardest for me to relate to but I felt a lot of compassion for her. She’s had a stressful pregnancy, just lost her husband, had a difficult labor, is a new first time mother to twins, and her hormones are all out of whack. I felt overwhelmed just reading about it, couldn't actually imagine going through all that while trying to keep it together for the kids.

Cecine, the male m/c, is a bonafied a-hole for over half the book. He had me so steaming mad! But by the end of the book … well … that would be up to you to decide.

Hastion, the other male m/c, made me cry. Never expected so much angst from our little exhibitionist. Those familiar with Hastion from books one and two will probably be thrown for a loop. I know I was. It forced me to take a timeout to throw all my own expectation out the window and just focus on letting his story unfold.

Overall, the characters had me all over the place emotionally, from laughing to crying and everything in between. This story really is the author’s most character driven and emotional work that I have read so far.

The erotica

Part of the book was more m/f focused while other parts were more m/m focused, but there was also some ménage. All the sex scenes were kinky and delicious except for one.

Sex content includes, but not limited to:

Overall

The story had a lot more drama and angst than I was expecting, but it made for an emotional read.

I would recommend this to science fiction lovers that like hot alien sex.

Quote

This is during one of Shelley's mood swings involving a side character that reminded her of My Little Pony:

"When his chuckle followed her out the door, she itched to go back and slam his pretty little pony head against the instrument panel until he was bleeding rainbows."

Even though that's a little scary, it had me LOL.

Alpha male aliens with a kinky sexual leaning is an irresistible siren call. Full disclosure, I did not read the first two books and now I desperately need to buy the first two and read them. Shelley Bonham is not in a good position. Wife of a traitor, pregnant on an alien ship and ready to deliver her twins, it couldn't get much worse. And then it did. Unbeknownst to Shelley, delivering babies in Garathani territory means the children are considered Garathani citizens. Since children without fathers default to the highest ranking Garathani male, Cecine becomes their father and he can take the kids from Shelley. The only way to make it work is if he becomes her mate. Too bad Shelley is also terrified of Cecine.

The conflict in this story is based on lack of communication. This is not a trope I enjoy. Still, the writing and the excellent sex pushed the story to a 4 star. Ms. Rotham creates an interesting world. It's an easy one for those who read spacefaring sci-fi books to understand. Lately, it seems alien males are constantly losing their females to bio-genetic warfare. Where do these males go to find compatible females? Puny little human females are harvested and used as sexual playmates as well as breeding stock.

This fantasy Ms. Rotham creates is very popular and speaks to many women. First, alpha men who can protect their women are involved. Both Cecine and Hastion can hold their own when it comes to fighting. Second, two male sexual organs is another attraction for women as of late. Third, there is a way to change a woman from being short and stock to sexy tall and lean. Sign me up! Where are these aliens? But wait, there is more! These aliens also happen to be on a sexual awakening which involves hawt m/m sex and kinky undertones of D/s. This potent combination can easily get a submissive woman's panty wet.

The BDSM in this story is tantalizing yet too little. Ms. Rotham stingily treats the reader to a few scenes here and there. The focus is really the m/m sexual aggressive scenes. These do carry a hint of dominance but not enough to satisfy a BDSM reader. Still, it is very arousing and the sex scenes are smoking hawt. When the relationship becomes a true triad of Mmf, it's fantastic. Ms. Rothan excels in her erotic scenes.

The character building in this story is what really does it for me. While Ms. Rotham does switch from the different point of views, it is still easy to follow and distinguish between Shelley, Cecine and Hastion's thoughts. Ms. Rotham gives each of her character equal time when it comes to detailing their background. Shelley's up bringing is the easiest and filled with more love, despite her asshole dead husband. Hastion's life is a bit more painful yet it is clear he still experienced love. Cecine's past is a traumatic catastrophe. It's amazing he's as well balanced as he is in the story. He's the one I fell in love with. He's strong, stoic and quite dominant. This kinky space opera is recommended to those who enjoy ménages with an extra male appendage involved.

I know I'm in the minority, but I hated this installment. The ending redeemed the book a bit, but not enough. The reason I really disliked this book was not for the reasons that many others stated. I loved Cecine. I thought him beautifully flawed, and perfectly dominant. I honestly hated Shelley and Hestion and thought they were selfish, stupid and completely dense! Almost 90% of this book was spent with Shelley and Hestion's love, "oh how can I not love him," and Hestion "Oh, I love her, she's so soft and sweet," I honestly wanted to gag. The truth is, most of the early sexual encounters are between Hestion and Cecine, with very little contact between Hestion and Shelley, so this instant "I love you," was really just ridiculous to me. Because other than their telling everyone they loved one another, there was no reason for that love! No true connection that was fleshed out. The only character that was really given depth was Cecine. I fell in love with him in the earlier books and was shocked that he was given these two ungrateful people as mates in this book. And every time Cecine even tried, just a little to get close, or explain or give an inch, both Hestion and Shelley blew him off. They totally took comfort in each other and left him out, even though, frankly, I felt as if this was HIS story. He was the the focal point, not her, or the ensign. I wanted to hit both Shelley and Hestion over the head with something hard so many times I lost count. Honestly I almost didn't finish the book, it turned my stomach that much. I HATED how they treated Cecine, and I felt as if he deserved a much better couple than he got "stuck' with. The backbone that Shelley shows at the end, it came out of nowhere, and should have been displayed earlier on. Cecine made many gestures to her, took her to see her family, cured her parents diseases, and still she doesn't give him an inch. Yes, he wasn't jumping all over her telling her he loved her and he'd do anything for her, but where the heck was that backbone of hers then, the "listen you dominant jerk, you wouldn't do this if you didn't love me, right?" She just walks away like a stupid meek mouse and goes running to Hestion, and equally yucky character to me. In my head they deserved one another. And Cecine deserved a mate or mates that truly could love him and appreciate his dominant nature. Those two were too into each other and themselves to ever be good enough for him. Again, my opinion. But I feel cheated, annoyed, can't believe I spent $6 on this, and won't be reading the next.

Robin L Rotham is one of my personal go-to authors. When I need a great BDSM book filled withatruegemaward extreme hotness I go straight to her books. I was slipping as a fan of hers, and didn’t read her aliens series until recently. But LAWD did I enjoy the heck out of them. The first two in the series are filled with sexy hotness that shouldn’t be missed!!! I would not read them as standalones. The stories have a continuous arc.

Book three, Amorous Overnight, is the story of Shelley who we all know was left in quite the crazy situation with the crimes of her now dead husband. She has just given birth to twins, and is completely stressed out about still be on board the alien ship. She knows she is safer there then back on earth, but is also fighting emotions that have started to build towards two of the least likely people. Being around the Garathani leader Cecine and his guard Hastion is beginning to be hard on her hormones. Especially after learning what they are doing to each other. The more she gets to know the two aliens the harder they are to resist, and resisting becomes the last thing she wants. But after surviving one lying bastard of an alien husband, why would she ever take on not one more but two more. Can she trust not only her heart, but the hearts of her young children in the hands of these two men??

Holy hot damn Batman!!! That is my true reaction to the hotness and greatness that is this book!!! I can’t sing its praises more. I enjoyed the every lovin heck out of it and the whole series! I can’t wait till she gives us the next instalment!! These alpha males just steal the breath from your body! The love story between the two men is just beautiful as well as their love for Shelley. Don’t miss this book and series you will be missing out if you do!!!!!!!!

I did enjoy this story, particularly the character development which I found more in-depth than typical in erotic sci/fi. This is the third book in the Overnight series, and is my favorite of the three, but only by a small margin. As much as I have enjoyed the series, it hasn't wowed me.

This story centers around Shelley, Hastion, and Cecine (who is the high mucky-muck of Garathan society), who have all been in the previous two books. I'm not that fond of romances that involve deception, and this one involves a couple of whoppers. It was difficult to accept the initial idea that Cecine has the right to take Shelley's children away from her simply because she gave birth on his ship. Despite that supposedly being the law on Garathan, I found it hard to credit that Cecine would enforce it over a human woman. But, in fact, Shelley was in a mess for more reasons than just where she gave birth, so I was able to mostly get past my indignation.

I did find most of the actions and reactions of characters to be generally realistic within the setting of the story. It wasn't until the end, when the dangling threads of the plot were tied up a bit too quickly and neatly and the dialog between the protagonists became uncomfortably cheesy, that I had any real squabbles. I was reminded of Dickens', A Christmas Carol, when Scrooge has a complete turnaround in attitude and, in my opinion, gets a little syrupy and overly effusive in his happiness with life. I guess I'm a bit too cynical for my own good. ;)

This book is at LEAST 75% male-male with really dubious scenes, a terrible view of women, and the heroine takes a backseat completely. This was MM romance for the sake of spectacle, and if I hadn't been loaned this book by a friend I would not have endured the awful slog of it. Also, FUCK YOU, Cecine, those are HER kids, you do not get to take them from her.

And let's be honest. In book one, where Shauss threatened to rape Jasmine in retaliation for her part in Monica's abduction and nobody bats an eye, that set the tone for the rest of the series: Total dealbreaker. The series is built on absolutely toxic ideas on gender and male-female interactions in particular. Dubious consent, lies and manipulation abound. No thanks. We don't need any more of this kind of book, with deeply misogynistic and rapey overtones. I'm not interested in reading more by this author.

I love this series. This book was interesting although for me it centers around the two males Cecine & Hastion dancing their dance of I like you but, will avoid letting you know I do. While their female Shelley tries to help them work it out.

This is supposed to be a menage but, if feels to me that it leans more heavily to the MM side with a Female aperitif, not my fav. So please understand that this is my reviews perspective. If the relationship seemed a more balanced menage I would have enjoyed it more, I am sure.

Pretty much an okay read. Probably would've been better had I read the first two in the series, but I wasn't lost. Mostly I just hated the characters. All three. Hastion was painted as too much of a saint when he did exactly what Cecine did. Cecine was too closed off for too much, though I liked him the most of the three. Shelly was just annoying, she made up her mind and that's it. Hastion was trustworthy and Cecine was a monster. I never bought the emotion between the three I don't feel like there was love there. Just bleh.

There is a point where ‘he’s just a strong alpha hero’ crosses over and becomes a very disturbing lack of consent. The story went way over that line many times. I didn’t think revealing past trauma in the main hero’s life made up for his unforgivable actions. The unbelievable non-consensual acts of the main hero were a complete turn off.

Great continuation to the series. Looking forward to the next one!!! I liked the fact that they took some time with the relationship with her, but wasn't super thrilled will the relationship between the guys for the majority of the book, but it turned out OK. I want the next one now:)

A bit ambivalent about this one...
Pros: scorching sex scenes, nice world building, food for thought...
Cons: I’m not sure I liked any of the characters... go figure...
So, while I feel like I should have liked this book, I’m not sure I really did... Hence my ambivalence

This is went on a bit too long and dragged unnecessarily which is a shame cos it's a great story.

Primarily this book is about cecine and hastion's complex relationship. Its slow!!!

I dont understand why the issue of why hsstion still called vaccine sir even when there having sex never came up!

Shelly is thrown in really at the end.

As with the previous books I lo ed this works and I'm really disappointed she didnt complete book 4!

Notwithstanding great writing and depth n characterisation

Monica Teague now has breasts and pubic hair due to an alien transformation in a previous book. Although she is delighted, not every human woman is so willing to transform.
I’m not sure if the Garanthians have conquered Earth or have forced Earth into an uneasy alliance with them. They have a lot of meetings planetside in order to work things out.
Shelly Bonham has given birth to twins on the alien ship. Their father was executed as it was discovered that he was a spy for a third species while masquerading as a human. Cecine, the Garanthian ship’s commander can claim paternity of these children and the right to mate with Shelly if he so desires. He does so desire. He finds Terran females to be soft and generous, the very opposite of imperious Garanthian women.
In order to satisfy his more basic urges, he chooses Ensign Hastion, a male. Hastion had once given a demonstration of sexual techniques using a probe. Commander Cecine can’t the demonstration out of his mind and is determined that he will “bottom” the ensign. If all goes well, and not just sexually, Cecine has decided that the two of them will mate with Shelly.
Note: There are ten pages of male/male coupling, including their thoughts about it, as well as their actions.
As an average looking Earth woman, Shelly is half the height of the Garanthians. She is terrified of all alien species and would never agree to be transformed in order to be more sexually pliant. Sex with them is out of the question for her.
This book is M/M/F (male, male, female) and D/S (which I had to look up. It means dominance and submission). This is Book 3 of the Aliens Overnight series.
Even though the author brings us up to date in the first chapter about what happened previously, I still found it confusing. She’s assuming that she’s given us enough information so that we can fill in the blanks for the previous two books. But it is sexy as all getout. If you like sex and science fiction, this is the book for you.
I reviewed this book for romancejunkies.com, but, as they’re having some trouble with their site, one of their editors suggested that I post the review on Goodreads. Everyone is welcome to read more reviews at romancejunkies.com.

This newest installment of Rotham's "Overnight" series was worth every minute of the wait!

The first two books were such fun stories -- wonderful heart-warming characters, snappy dialogue, blazing hot sex. In "Amorous Overnight" the fun snarkiness is still there, but is dialed way back. So the story's a little different, but not in a bad way. It's certainly somewhat darker that its predecessors, but it is telling a more sobering story about the long-term consequences of abuse and betrayal. But be reassured...the sex is still amazingly steamy and over-the-top hot!

Interestingly, Shelley seems almost a nominal 'heroine.' While Shelley initiates a lot of the plot's events, the story is really all about Cecine and Hastion coming to terms with themselves. It is definitely a challenge to like Cecine, especially early in the book. He is so distant and repressed that it's hard to see why he's even interested in Shelley or Hastion at all. But that just makes him a more sympathetic character, since he's fundamentally good and decent. It's sweet to see him grow and accept who he is and what he wants.

While the Narthani kidnapping plot is a little thin, and should have been a bigger part of the story, it's a minor quibble about what is otherwise a really fun and enjoyable read.

So...4 stars for a fun, sexy, but insightful story. Can't wait to read the next one!

Ends at 95% on my Kindle, approx 6200 locations.
Part of a series but stands alone with HEA. Sneak peek chapter for next book in series.

If you like sci-fi menage romance and haven't read the previous 2 books in this series, do it! You could read this one on its own but it is much more fun having read a bit of the characters history in the previous books.

This book gets 5 stars from me because I got exactly what I was expecting and so much more. I got my crazy alien/human menage romance along with lots of sci-fi geekiness that totally allowed me to imagine the new world and life on the ship.

What I wasn't expecting was the not so easy journey we had to go on to get this trio together. Holy moly! Notice I put this book on my "hero-can-be-a-dick" shelf! Cecine REALLY has some things he has to work through and it takes lots of patience and help from friends to get him on the right track. And I loved all the angst along the way. I gave Hastion lots of virtual hugs. Great progression with Shelley coming into her own. I totally felt for her with the whole getting her fat and not telling her thing, so mean! LOL

Lots of glimpses of characters from previous books. In fact, they help this romance along in a big way. So excited that there will be another book in this series, surprising but happy news.

This was an emotional roller-coaster ride. This book opens with Shelly giving birth to her twins and finding out her husband was an undercover alien on earth and was killed trying to sabotage the space ship she is on. Angst and drama right out of the gate and it continues throughout with her mates, (which she doesn't know she is mated to) Minister Cacine and Ensign Hastion. The first two thirds of the book is all about these characters and how broken they are. Although this was an interesting way to give us some very specific details into the history of this world, for me, it did drag on just a bit. The final third of the book saved it from being too much. The twists and turns that happen were surprising, although all the clues were there. I see another twist in the road ahead. Can't wait. Overall, this is a wonderful story in an amazing world.

So... I liked it. I think most of the things that generally might bother me about Robin's work didn't bother me in this one.

This one was super heavy on the M/M, which I was perfectly fine with. It was done in such a way that made sense.

It's been a few days since I read it (and another book in between) , so I've already lost much of my thoughts regarding it... but I don't think there was anything that particularly irked me about the book.

The smex was good, though a little too much with the D/s... oh wait, that's what it was... there was no after care for Hastion, ever even when he was literally left bleeding. It was part of the plot, but it made me not like Cescine (sp? can't remember).

Otherwise, it was all enjoyable etc.

I did enjoy this, and was thinking 4 stars...but the end unraveled for me. It wrapped up way to quickly and neatly. I was very upset by what happened to the computer.

Going in, I knew there was a fisting scene...hell, it's the reason I read it. But it just came out of the blue. No warm up. From a kiss to a fist. She didn't even ask first, just stuck her hand right on up there. It wasn't badly done or anything...just Wohhhh, that was fast.

Cecine was an ass.

But this did hold my attention, and I enjoyed the majority of it. I'm not an alien story lover, so it says quite a bit, that I was sucked into the story.

I did not read the first 2 books. But, judging by this one, I might just go back and read them at some point.

I received this book as part of the Good Reads First Reads program.

I did enjoy this book, even though alien space adventures are not really my favourite genre, the erotic romance aspects were great.

I have not read the first two books in this series. Doing that would have made the first few chapters a little less confusing, but after working it out in my head (and reading the reviews of the previous books) I had a better idea of what was happening. The sex scenes were suitably sizzling and exciting to read.

Overall, this was an exciting and interesting idea that I enjoyed reading. Thank you for the copy.

I WANTED TO LOVE YOU. I WANTED TO. But I thought I was getting sexy romance with Shelley and two dudes, and it was mostly two dudes playing will-they-wont-they and Shelley making them hold hands and then watching while they, ahem, crossed the streams.

So that's my only warning with this one. The heroine kinda takes a backseat to the two heroes. I love it when the heroine is the center of EVERYONE's attention, but I'm selfish like that.

Still a totally fun storyline and totally full of tons of sexiness. I am SO on board for the next. Bring it, Robin Rotham!

It's been a long time since I read the other two books in the overnight series so honestly I've kinda forgotten about the players and 'world'. The author doesn't go into too many details on certain things that I'd forgotten about (spur, nook, Garathani, Terran, etc....) which wouldn't have been a big deal if I'd have read the books closer together. However, 3-4 years in between books doesn't allow for that. Anyway, that's why I rated it 3 stars because I wanted more details on the why's or descriptions on the spur/nook so I could re-visualize it and didn't get it.

I really enjoyed this one. Ive read all three in this series and the first two could be a little confronting with regards to the relationship development between the main characters. This one seemed softer somehow, there are still issues to be sorted out between all the characters and especially between the dominant and the submissive male coming to terms with their relationship over and above that of the female character. Im looking forward to the next one.

Absolutely loved this book. Finally being able to get to know some of the aliens home planet, and learn more about the two males that have played large parts in both other books of this series was great. It was even more heartfelt than the others and at times drew tears to my eyes. Loved it. And cannot wait until the next in the series is released. Please Please don't keep us waiting long :D

I loved this book. I read one review that said he was a jerk in this book. I did not see him as a jerk at all. I saw him as a man that was hurt badly in his past and dealing with current customs.
The ending had me in tears. There was so much pain and turmoil let go. This book had so much healing I could not help but love it.

Robin Rotham can sure write a hot, panty-melting story! The way she can create an alpha-male alien that pisses you off royally AND makes you love him at the same time is outstanding. Of course, all the nifty little alien devices she includes just adds to the enjoyment;) Great job, Robin!
