Rate this book
It’s all about the beaches in this Cape Cod minimalist travel guide that is part journal, part field notebook. Divided by region, the notebook includes detailed maps and space for journal entries. Each page lists icons with key pieces of visitor information for the beaches, such as parking fees; food, shower, and boat ramp availability; and whether Rover is welcome, leaving plenty of space to capture beach memories in writing or sketches. The town maps highlight beach locations and note bike, pedestrian, car, and handicap access. Start your Cape Cod adventure with this ideal personal guide—an invitation to discover your own favorite stretch of sand under the sun, and a reminder of all the beaches visited and those left to explore.

Thanks to Netgalley, the publisher. and the author for allowing me to read and review a digital copy of this book. There are so many photos in this book I cannot just name one that I liked the most. But there is one photo of an eagle sitting on a post with a flag across from it. The Eagles seem to be staring at the flag. The photos in the book cover the history of the flag as well as how people and towns still to this day celebrate with the flag and just fly it in general. Lots of pictures from the original...

A beautiful collection of photos taken from various Americans all across the country. There are so many stunning photos of the American Flag and you can truly feel the patriotism flowing through the pages. I loved every page.

I have received a much appreciated digital copy of this book from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you to Dale Baskin, Karen S. Robbins, Schiffer Publishing Ltd., and NetGalley for this advanced copy of “Flags Across America” for an honest review.

I was a little leery when advised to pick this one, especially in our present day hyper-political issues with the flag and the anthem, but I turned out to be very, very glad I did. I was amazed at the many ways our flag was been used and photographed.

I think this will make a lovely table book in the American household (though I don’t feel it would translate worldwide at all). There were so many things I did not expect to see the flag on that I found myself wide-eyed reading all the background on (especially the hot air balloon and the whiskey barrel flags). I think everyone should give this American history a whirl!
