What do the wreck of the Liberty ship James Longstreet, Provincetown dune shacks, a great white shark, and surfers at Wellfleet's Lecount Hollow have in common? They're all captured from altitudes of up to 400 feet in photographs by Cape Cod native Christopher Seufert. More than 100 images reveal the cape's ocean currents, tide pools, geological forms, and orderly town grids from never-before-seen angles and perspectives. They also give equal exposure to both hidden corners and well-traveled landmarks of every town on the cape, including Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket. The author's creative use of the latest drone technology will be a revelation for even the most seasoned Cape Codder.
Christopher Seufert specializes broadly in lifestyle, portraiture, aerial, and landscape photography. He is the author of eight hard cover photography books: -"Cape Cod & The Islands: A Drone's Eye View" (Shiffer, 2018) -"The Cape Cod National Seashore: A Photographic Adventure & Guide" (Schiffer Publishing, 2012) -"Cape Cod & Islands Reflections" (Schiffer Publishing, LTD, 2010) -"Cape Cod & Islands Views: A Photo Journal" -"Dune Shack Life: Photos from the Cape Cod National Seashore" -"Chatham by Air: Aerial Photographs from Chatham, Cape Cod." -"Chatham Views: A Photographic Journal from Chatham, Massachusetts" -"In the Footsteps of Marconi: Photo Documentation of the Chatham Radio/WCC Station."
His next photography book about the last days of the late illustrator Edward Gorey is due in the fall of 2019.
He has a background in journalism, film, and both traditional and digital photography, with a BA in writing from Trinity College (Hartford, CT) and an MA in anthropology from California State University, East Bay. His photography is one service of his award-winning film and audio production company, Mooncusser Films, LLC.
