I wish I had bought these 3 books separately as they have such different characters and are very difficult to distinguish on kindle.

I loved "The Reason for God." Admittedly I remember very little content as I read it in the middle of the night while feeding my newborn, but it brought such a sense of reassurance in that time. It is a solid foundation and I look forward to reading it again in a less sleep-deprived state.

I found "Making Sense of God" hard going. It is an excellent philosophical work and I persevered because I believe it is valuable, but I did struggle to follow at times (not helped by having a Kindle copy so you can't easily flick back a couple of pages to remember what the purpose of the chapter actually was; or the fact that the chapters hadn't registered properly so I was informed at some point that I had 7 hrs left in said chapter...!) If someone gave me a print copy of the book I would probably give it another go.

"The Prodigal God" is the shortest and most accessible of the books. It is both challenging and inspiring, summarising some of the key points of the other books much more succinctly. I enjoyed it, though found some parts to be uncomfortable reading. I feel like I benefited from having read the other two books first because I could map the short points onto the deeper arguments but it would certainly stand alone and is a good read for a believer or non believer alike.

In summary; great books, some more accessible than others. All would benefit from a second pass!

The Beauty of Grace

This is without a doubt one of the best books/presentations of the gospel I have ever read. Only one book in life is a must read and that’s the Bible, but this book if you have capacity for more is as close to a must read as possible. The task of reading this book is not difficult as this book is thin and easy to understand.
