Never ever thought I'd be enjoying poetry this much. This was amazing. Some were really hurting because when you can relate to it and you stand there by the street, reading those words over and over again... something just hits you and it might as well be a car passing by. Really beautiful thoughts put to words.

you didn't love
you only loved parts of me
and the longer you stayed gone
i learned to love all of the parts of me
that you neglected

I just finished this book, and just had too share some of the amazing poems that were apart of it. There were alot more I liked but I tried to limit it so I only chose 3. Forever and Pride hit me the hard. I love with all I have and if I say forever I mean it. Anyone who knows me knows I always say what doesnt kills me makes me stronger, and that's what came to mind when I read that. Masterpiece hit me hard because I always suffered from low self esteem, and it took me a while to get over that. So reading that particular poem brought up the past, and made me realize how far I have come.

I like how the sentences and words are easy to read, and I enjoyed reading a number of her poems. I just don't resonate with a lot of them and sometimes feel that one stanza or metaphor doesn't always connect to the other. Nevertheless, I thank M. Ballard for having the courage to share her words--I'm sure they've been impactful for some.

A bit inappropriate at times for a high school audience (some choice words and sexual content), and a bit naggy for my taste. It's about a girl pining for her lost love, but there are some uplifting and empowering poems, so that's a plus.

Insightful, in a fresh new way: delicate, deliberate, knowing, sensing.

"divinity
you are a sight for sore eyes my dear
you are a flower blooming in the spring
and your smile is light in a too dim world"

The illustrations are a nice addition! I recommend.

Relatable and raw. Labels the emotions and thought processes I have felt, but had difficulty expressing on my own.
