Beautiful and achievable floral arrangements to brighten your home from the royal wedding's secret second florist!
Arranged by season, Flourish shows you how to transform even just a handful of fresh cuttings into seriously stylish arrangements that will elevate your home from the ordinary to the extraordinary.
Practical, inspiring, and easy to use, Flourish presents thirty-eight projects arranged by season. Along with beautiful vase arrangements, the book also features a "disco" ball, candle bobeches, an ornamental blossom hanging, and more. The writing is personable; instructions on how to care for the flowers are exacting, and easy to follow. A spread devoted to containers, from the traditional (milk bottles, jam jars) to the unique (wooden crates, teapots) to the unexpected (science beakers, birdcages, shells) inspires originality. Willow runs the gamut from simple kitchen table arrangement to holiday party dcor to stunning wedding reception table runners. The book's diversity provides a muse for the novice and professional alike.
With a background in design, Willow Crossley trained at the Covent Garden Academy of Flowers and is a floral stylist based in West Oxfordshire. She creates floral arrangements for events and weddings and has recently supplied flowers for Anthropologie, Jo Malone, Mulberry, and most recently the evening reception for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's royal wedding. She is the author of two books: The Art of Handmade Living and Inspire: The Art of Living with Nature.
I loved this book, the images are beautiful and I liked the honest and friendly voice that it is written in. It included many flowers and foliage that I have heard of, which is great (and means I have a shot at trying to find them in New Zealand). It was an inspiring read and made me excited to find some great vessels and invest in some floral tools, I am looking forward to seeing what I can create!
What a beautiful read! It's full of pictures of stunning stylish arrangements of flowers and foliage. It really inspired me with the belief that I can elevate my house from the ordinary to extraordinary with the transformative power of flowers. There is a great variety of tips to deal with a range of display from simple to elaborate.
I just got it for the lovely pictures really, it’s a gorgeous book. A few useful facts about how to condition and look after different types of flowers too. I can imagine that a lot of these arrangements would cost a bomb to make, but I did find peonies in Tesco yesterday
Pretty flower pictures! I have it as an ebook, but a hard cover would make an excellent coffee table book. Every now and then I skim through for interior decorating ideas. She definitely has a gift for floral bouquets.
