A book to go with the song!
I used this one as my emergency storytime book recently and it was a huge success. My library system likes us to do at least 2 books at each storytime, but on a day when the kids weren't interested in my second book, I got out this one and told them we'd sing the song instead (because that totally counts). I sang along with the pictures (which are great, btw) and the kids enjoyed it.
But wait! There's more!
Like, literally, the song keeps going for more verses after the usually one. In this version, the spider keeps trying again and again until she reaches the top. What a great lesson! Kids and families loved it. I will absolutely use this for my emergency book again.

The itsy bitsy spider is mama's go to song when we start acting a fool and having meltdowns in public places. It works almost every time, so it's no surprise that the book had the same magical effect on us. Loved the pics. Loved the singing. And there's a lesson about never giving up, which we couldn't really be bothered with right now, but knowing our mother it will come up again when we're we're older. ☔
