Ten years younger than this hockey player? No thanks. That is, until Trevor quickly gets to know the sass that is Callie MacTavish.
Trevor Winski is known for his easy attitude off-ice. Everyone’s best friend, he’s pseudo-uncle to his teammates’ kids and welcome at every family party. For whatever reason, though, he can’t keep a girlfriend to save his life. The women he’s dated in the past want the rough-on-ice hockey player, both in and out of bed, but he was raised better than that. He’s ready to give up on the idea of a family of his own—until a certain pretty blonde crosses paths with him.
Callie MacTavish is the black sheep of her family. After growing up around money, living in luxurious homes and spending much of her youth going on extravagant vacations, she’s chosen to live among the ‘regular’ population, donating money she doesn’t need and volunteering for missions that need an extra set of hands. A pediatric nurse, she thrives on helping others—but she still has the travel bug. Meeting a man nearly ten years her senior isn’t in her plans. But he makes her laugh.
He makes her feel like she belongs somewhere. Trevor makes her want forever and ever, with firm roots in the ground.
Too bad she’s already put plans in motion to move again. For the first time, Trevor is prepared to take his fight off the ice.
After all, he's always refused to lose.
This book is a complete standalone in the Enforcers of San Diego series. All books and series are intertwined but not necessary to read in order to enjoy any single book. However, please be aware there are secondary characters. For a reading order by series and by world, please refer to the From the Author section below.
Mignon Mykel is the author of the Prescott Family series, as well as the short-novella erotic romance series, O'Gallagher Nights. When not sitting at Starbucks writing whatever her characters tell her to, you can find her hiking in the mountains of her new home in Arizona.
Wtf? This heroine was slutty. I mean sex on the first date with someone u barely know? What's worse is that she didn't even love the hero. He told her he loved her many times but she was like you are not worth giving up my dreams. She never even told him she loved him all she cared about was fucking him. She hurt him, she broke his heart repeatedly and she didn't even care. She was planning on leaving him but poor guy had no idea his girlfriend was a deceitful hateful bitch. Hero was too good for this cold insensitive shrew. Author to avoid from now on! I don't want to waste anymore time or money on another bad book. By the way epilogue was sweet but nothing can redeem this heroine as far as I'm concerned!!
You know those authors who continue to get better with time? The ones that you read something and you think...this is their best ever and then they go and make you fall in love with another set of characters all over again? Mignon Mykel is one of those authors.
Refuse To Lose is absolutely one of my favorite reads from her. Trevor and Callie are your best friends, they're the people you see in the mirror every morning, the people you want to be - the couple you can see yourself being. They are #goals. And Trevor is hell bent on giving Porter Prescott a run for his money when it comes to ultimate book boyfriends!

Refuse to Lose is yet another binge worthy read from the phenomenally talented Mignon Mykel. Every time she announces a new release I am always one of the first to jump at the chance to devour her beautifully written words and this story is no exception. Ever since I discovered her writing back in summer 2016 (with Interference) I have been a huge fan (I've read every single book, sometimes more then once) and each time she releases a new story I get to watch her grow as a writer. She is hands down one of those author's that will gain loyal readers after just one book!
Back a few months ago when I was reading Dropping the Gloves, the first book in the Enforcers of San Diego series, Trevor was slowly finding a place into my heart, but it wasn't until Refuse to Lose that he full gained a spot (although I think Porter Prescott will always be my #1 book boyfriend). Callie and Trevor are so relatable and have the kind of relationship we are all longing for. Sure they have their fights and differences, but I couldn't help but fall in love with this couple. I never wanted their story to end, but as they say - "all good things must come to an end!" I cannot wait to see what Mignon Mykel comes up with next.
Pick up a copy of REFUSE TO LOSE and fall in love with Trevor and Callie today!
I really love to see when an author has grown as writer, and that is the case with Mignon Mykel. I read Saving Grace earlier this year. It was good, but had some issues (in my opinion). So to see a book with very few editing errors, and much stronger writing, makes me a very happy reader!
Alex is a professional hockey player in his early thirties. He’s done the one-night-stand thing that’s popular with pro athletes. But that’s gotten old, and what he really wants is a wife to come home to, and children to fill his house. After a series of failed relationships, he’s about given up on finding someone special to share his life with. But then he meets Callie.
Callie is in her early twenties. Even though she’s young, and grew up with a silver spoon in her mouth, she’s nothing like Alex thinks she is. She’s smart, ambitious, thoughtful, and kind. And she lets herself get completely swept off her feet by Alex. But she still has things she wants to do, and places she wants to see. Being involved with a pro hockey player could put all that in jeopardy.
But Alex loves Callie, so he’s willing to compromise what he desperately wants so Callie can have what she wants. It was a wonderful story of two people learning how to be in a relationship when they are in different stages of life. Things frequently got bumpy. They don't always behave in the most mature way. It was the most refreshing, realistic book I’ve read in quite a while!
It was also super steamy. Which I wouldn’t normally say is a problem. Unless all the time spent on steamy is to the detriment of plot development, and I would almost say that is the case here. Once Alex and Callie start their physical relationship, a lot of time is spent on their bedroom scenes. They are done well! But I would have liked to see them work through what surely would be struggles dealing with a relationship where both are out of town frequently. They meet, are together for a couple months, then the story skips ahead to one year later for the last 10 percent of the book. I liked Callie and Alex together, and I would have liked to read about those missing months!
This book was so good, it had me sneaking chapters between loads of laundry and other household chores. I couldn’t put it down! I loved the characters - especially a pro athlete who isn’t the usual manwhore, and I loved their story. Now if you’ll excuse me, now I need to go read about Jordan and Marlo...
32: Refuse to Lose by Mignon Mykel is a fast paced, sexy hockey romance with two strong willed leads that are blindsided by love. We met Trevor Winski in "Dropping The Gloves" the first Enforcers book and saw his strong close knit ties to his hockey family. Trevor has no luck finding women and the last thing he thought he needed was Callie MacTavish. Callie grew up in a well-off family but has always bucked the trend and went a different way. At the age of 22, Callie doesn't see herself settling down let alone with a man 10 years older than her. Will they recognize what they have together? Or will they lose it all?
Addicted, that is what I am to Mignon's stories and her writing. Refuse to Lose is a perfect compliment to Dropping the Gloves. Even though both stories can be read as standalone they would be better enjoyed in order. Trevor is a perfect hockey hero and Callie is feisty with quick wit together they are the perfect combination. I couldn't put this story down and enjoyed every chapter. 5 Stars for 32: Refuse to Lose by Mignon Mykel
*** Reviewed for Sweet & Spicy Reads - ARC provided for an honest review ***
Trevor Winski is the Enforcers’ nice guy, the one who’s friends with everybody, babysits and plays with the kids and an all-around good guy. He’s rough and mean on the ice, but is all heart and hoping to find his happily ever after off it. Callie MacTavish is a girl Trevor wouldn’t have picked for himself. She’s about 10 years younger and her family tree doesn’t make her prime choice in his eyes. On the other hand, she’s a sassy pediatric nurse and once they get to spend time together, he won’t be able to hold himself back. I loved Trevor from the beginning. His personality and disposition were enough to blind me, but I was ready to ring Callie’s neck more than one time. Still, I loved their relationship, their banter and their chemistry. In all honesty, Trevor kept me going all the way while I hoped he got his HEA and I wasn’t disappointed at the end. The story is sweet and sexy and with and ending far from what I expected. Once again, the writing was great. The author does a wonderful job with her characters and the intricacies of their relationship as well as recreating the sport and the interactions with the secondary characters. I can’t wait to see what she’ll bring us next!

Mignon Mykel has fast become a "go to" author for me!
I've been eager to get to read all about Trevor Winski and see what kind of a woman he'd finally fall for! When Trevor meets Callie, he immediately thinks she's too young, but Callie proves him very wrong with her maturity, life experiences, and ball busting sassiness. Trevor falls fast and falls hard with Callie close on his heals, but their equal stubbornness and Callie's independence doesn't always make things easy. Some great hockey action, appearances from other Enforcers and their significant others, witty dialogue, hot sex scenes, and of course some swoon worthy romance...perfect!
Enjoyed it very much! Who knew this California girl would love some Hockey romance!? I'm loving this series. If you enjoy a novella length story, then give this series a read. Fun, sexy, heartfelt. Can't wait for the next novella.
It is by default that, Callie is at a Prescott family gathering. She is not a guest. No, Jenna dragged her along. Not to mention, everyone hates her sister, Jenna who is married, to one of their sons, Jonny. Can you say awkward? Then, Jonny and, Jenna wander off leaving her with his family, all alone. Now, his family is unlike any other around. You see all the boys are pro athletes and one daughter is now a sports agent. And, although the parents are wealthy like her own, they are down, to earth, and not pretentious. The Prescotts cherish family time. They are on the floor playing with their grandbabies as if, it is a normal occurrence. To them, it is ordinary, to Callie it is foreign.
Her family is more snobby, OTT, and self-centered. Like her sister more is always better and her condescending attitude creates the discord she receives. Callie on the other hand, applied herself academically and graduated high school early. Therefore, starting college earlier, than people her age. She got a nursing degree three years prior, and, has been with the hospital for a year. However, before that, she was in, Haiti for four months and then, moved on, to Africa, before that, on a ship-based mission. Trevor has been a part of, the Prescott family gatherings for, what feels like forever. So, attending this gathering is, a normal event.
By the time, Saturday came around, to hit the gathering, Trevor is ready. Single life is getting old. He wants the type of relationship, Caleb and, Sydney have, love and a family. His house is too damn quiet. When he arrives the gathering is mostly for congratulating, Avery on graduating, and becoming a sports agent. Her parents are there for her, along with her two older sisters, Mykaela and McKenna, with her brothers Jonny and Caleb. Porter had a hockey game. Of course, the children, spouses, and then poor, Callie gets dropped in the middle of the party. She and, Trevor have no clue that they are being fixed up, or at least they are going, to be until, Trevor blurts out, “She’s a freaking child.”
Let's just say things move fast when he goes, to apologize for his outburst and finds out, personality-wise she is nothing like, Jenna. She doesn't dress like her, she has a belly ring, and she is down to earth. He finds himself intrigued by her. To the point of, offering her a ride home. Then, to stop for dinner. The things he finds out about her make her so much more, than her parents, and, Jenna all put together.
Now their passion burns, wild and hot. Stand back, or get burned. What I loved about, Trevor’s character is he wore his emotions, on his sleeves. But, what I didn't like, is because of those high emotions he gave up, too easily. He pouted, walked away, and didn't fight for the love he said he wanted, so badly. Callie is braver than he is, by the way, she keeps fighting for them. Boy, if he had taken off on me, and went radio silent, hell to the no. I would have called just about anyone, even one of the girlfriends of the players, to hide out with, and see how he liked it. He is lucky it was only four months, and she surprised him with the trip.
Never read anything by this author previously so I had no clue what to expect but I like a good hockey romance and it was free on KU so why not?
Glad I took the chance and found a new author I'll read more from. The H, Trevor, is 32 years old, and ready for a relationship when it happens. Trevor's all that plus more. He's funny, sexy, cares about his friends, is a dirty talker, and he loves Callie. Initially he has no intention of dating or "anything" with Callie because she's a "child" (22) to his 32. A ride home leads to dinner, leads to a movie date, leads to awkwardness, leads to a 180 degree spin of hot sex.
The relationship between the two quickly but steadily builds with Trevor's hockey schedule and Callie's work (she's a peds nurse) schedule. Big hiccup due to Callie's career choices which causes some up and down in their relationship. And it seemed realistic. How many times in a relationship no matter how committed have you had to take a minute or 700 and walk away because you were so hurt or angry and didn't want to say something you'd regret later? That happens here and what I loved is these two fought it out and didn't give up. Being in love doesn't mean your relationship is perfect and you both don't make heat of the moment decisions.
These 2 MCs were both strong, stubborn, fun, and I wanted them together. They made sense and who doesn't love a sexy, dirty talking hockey player?
HEA: Yes Standalone: Yes but there are other stories in this series and the characters crossover Sex: Yes and it's BSDM but it's not vanilla either Cheating: No
This story is about a sexy, sweet, alpha male hockey player (Trevor) and a girl (Callie) who comes from wealth though she has distanced herself from that life. Her profession alone shows she is trying to make a difference in the world as a nurse. Callie also has to deal with the fact that she has an older sister married to another hockey player on Trevor's team who embraces the lifestyle of affluence. This is not a characteristic Callie wants to be aligned with. This story explores the challenges of learning how to have open communication and staying true to your dreams and aspiration while still making concessions to be with the person you love. It also explores what I consider are the challenges due to the age difference of the characters. Trevor is ten years older than Callie and is ready for a permeant relationship. I think Callie desires to be only with Trevor but she demonstrates what I feel is some immaturity and insecurities in some of her decisions. This story was an entertaining and thoughtful journey which made it thoroughly enjoyable. When you add the sexy scenes to the story it makes this book the whole package. This author knows how to write steamy REALLY well (wink wink). Trevor maintains his HOTNESS throughout this story (sigh) and Callie is not afraid to explore her naughty side (haha). This book was a great read and I definitely recommend it. Happy Reading!!!
Note: I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an unbiased review.
After meeting Trevor Winski in 27: Dropping the Gloves, I couldn't wait to read his book. I wanted to know more about him and the woman who would steal his heart. He was so fierce and protective of his friends. I could only imagine how that would translate to his significant other. I was happy to see that streak continue in 32: Refuse to Lose.
Trevor wasn't a typical young sports star. Being the life of the party and hooking up with women wasn't his thing. He was in his 30's and ready to settle down. Trevor just needed to find the right woman to do that with. Luckily, he met Callie.
Callie was ten years younger than Trevor, but she was very mature. She knew what she wanted out of life, and wasn't going to let anyone stop her from achieving her goals and dreams. Meeting Trevor threw a wrench in Callie's plans. She never thought she would meet "the one" at 22.
I really enjoyed reading 32: Refuse to Lose. My favorite thing about it was the lack of drama in it. Not that it didn't have drama, it did. It just wasn't crazy drama. Trevor and Callie's romance had an honest and real feel to it. I could imagine any of my friends in their places. Their story was so cute and easy to relate to. I especially loved the epilogues. 32: Refuse to Lose is a sports romance I can see readers falling for.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book OMG OMG I Loved Trevor and Callie's story. Trevor we met in Dropping Gloves, he is Marlo's best friend, and this book follows that same timeline (which I LOVE) Trevor has just resigned with his team but he is one of the older players at 32 When his friend Caleb invites him to his younger sisters graduation party he of course goes but when Caleb's girl tells him that Caleb wants to set him up with someone there at the party Trevor is not happy with it. When Caleb points out the "girl" and he sees her he is says way to loudly that she is just a kid. Callie is Jenna's sister and yes she is young at 22 but when the big man talking to Caleb calls her a kid it really pisses her off. But when he asks to take her home from the party she says yes anyway. Their attraction is off the charts hot but can they work together. Callie is completely night and day different then her sister and Trevor soon learns that. He cannot think of anything but Callie. This book was absolutely amazing. I LOVED how HOT and Dominate that Trevor was but yet he was also soft and gentle. This book of course has a little bit of drama (being it is the same timeline as dropping the gloves) but the love story of Trevor and Callie is so amazingly wonderful you fall hard. I cannot wait to read who comes next from the Enforcers!
I want to preface this by stating that I have not read the Prescott Series by Mignon Mykel. Enforcers of San Diego is a spin-off sports romance series from the Prescott books and so many of those same characters make an appearance in this series. I read 27: Dropping the Gloves where we meet Jordan, Marlo, Rori and Trevor. 32: Refuse to Lose takes place simultaneously and then pushes even further into the future and it is Trevor and Callie's story.
The premise of the story really had potential. But much like the first book, there are a LOT of sub characters and mentions of people and I sometimes found it hard to follow, and I will attribute that to the fact that, again, I didn't read the Prescott books. However, once the introductions are made, it does stand alone very well.
This book is incredibly fast-paced. Trevor and Callie very much have an insta-love relationship and the timeline in the story really does jump forward without really letting the reader keep up. Again, it's not a bad story, I just would have liked a lot more. I would like to "feel" more from these characters. I'd like the anger in the characters to make me feel upset and I'd like to feel compassion for a character who has difficulty decisions, but it just didn't do that.
The writing is decent and if you're looking for a fast-paced, very sexy sports romance, look no further.
So I did enjoy this book, some parts felt rushed but I liked to story and both main characters. I could tell that I was missing pieces in the prolog that some side characters had already gotten their stories which confused me because this was listed as book 1 in the series. I normally don’t care what order I read the stories in because I only ever read books with HEA so I don’t think finding out so and so are together is a spoiler. I was disappointed/dissatisfied to find out that there was a book 27: Dropping the Gloves about Jordan &Marlo. I thought seeing their story would be great but it’s not on KU and it’s not listed as apart of this series when you can tell from the title it is. Some other characters pop up in the book that are apart of her other series of books so that’s different. I know sometimes one book will be in KU or “free” and then you need to pay for the rest. But 27: dropping the gloves isn’t available anywhere and I was a little angry because I felt like that book took place before this one. Not sure what happened but that’s why I only rated this book 3 stars. Still a fun hockey romance that I enjoyed, just a little frustrated about it clearly being book 2 in the series not book 1 as it’s listed.
Trevor is 32 and is a hockey player for the enforcers. There is nothing he wants more than to be married and have kids but he hasn’t had much luck with finding the special one so he enjoys the time he spends with his teammates kids.
Callie is 22 and is pediatric nurse. She has nothing in common with her family as all she wants to do is help others and to travel.
They are set up at a party by his teammate and originally Trevor is not impressed as he thinks she is much too young for him and when she overhears she doesn’t appreciate being called a kid. When he ends up taking her home he realizes that there is much more to her than her age and their chemistry is off the charts. They become close and fall in love but will they be able to reach a compromise when they have different dreams for their future?
Both these characters have such huge hearts and they connect in such a deep and meaningful way that when their relationship is threatened you feel their pain as well. I love this series and can’t wait for the next story. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Refuse to Lose by Mignon Mykel is Book 2 in the Enforcers of San Diego sport romance romance.
I love all of Mignons characters she creates for her books and Trevor and Callie are no different. They are by no means perfect and that just adds to the appeal and interest whilst reading.
This instalment is sexy, sweet, well written and well paced. I enjoyed the prologue and epilogue and how this story has been set out. The best thing about Mignons epilogues is that they are set in the far distant future as opposed straight after the main story. Which allows you to get a better feel for how the characters are doing after the main story finishes.
I also enjoyed the fact that this book runs alongside book 1 for a good part of the story which, as a regular reader of Mignons, it was great to see another characters perspective (Trevor) on the same situations already visited previously (Marco and Jordan)
I look forward to reading more of the Enforcers. I voluntarily reviewed this advanced reader copy and I have not been compensated in any way.
There is just something about a sports romance that just sucks me right in. I'm a major sports fan, even if I don't pay much attention to hockey but still. I've learned a lot about it. Add in the romance factor and I'm in, hook, line, and sinker! Callie and Trevor were no different!!
I adored Trevor for looking out for Marlo from the beginning. He's the sweetest and has a big heart. I was so ready for his story, already knowing I love him. And Callie? Now that was interesting considering she's Jenna's sister and I'm not a fan. But Callie? She's the most down to earth person and the sweetest. Plus a pediatric nurse, a girl after my own heart! These two don't make it easy but their journey is just that, their journey! One I'd gladly go on again and again and again! There are ups and downs, but that's what makes a story. That being said, Trevor and Callie stole my heart and I absolutely adore them both! ❤️
32:Refuse to Lose was my first book to read by Mignon Mykel and what an amazing introduction to her work! The author's writing style and her amazing and relatable characters had me reading late into the night. This book had me laughing, groaning, crying and celebrating.
From their first meeting Callie has Trevor on his toes after he puts his foot in his mouth with a comment. When they first meet Trevor thinks Callie is too young but is surprised to find that Callie is a mature yet sassy-mouthed woman that he just can't wait to get to know. The chemistry between them is undeniable and more than capable of setting your Kindle on fire. Their relationship is not all hearts and roses but their journey together is amazing! You won't be able to help falling right along with them.
Though this was my first book by this author it will definitely not be my last. I can't wait to read more of this series! I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
Like most bookworms, I dream of one day writing my own novel. But there are some authors whose writing is pure perfection that the gods themselves would weep. Authors whose prose leaves budding authors like me, shaking in their little space boots. Mignon Mykel and her hockey themed romance novel, Refuse to Lose, has given me the confidence that even a three-legged camel stuck in quicksand and writing to a deadline with nothing but a palm pilot could write a book.
Trevor Winski is a professional hockey player for the San Diego Enforcers (great place, terrible name). In the twilight of his hockey career, he has just renewed his contract with the Enforcers and is not looking to change things up anytime soon, in fact, he just wants to settle down and start a family.
Callie MacTavish, however, has just started her career as a Paediatric Nurse and is looking to put her pretentious up-bring behind her and live a more authentic life. Callie is career focused and is driven to help others. So, the story goes like this: he's older, she's younger, their life goals don't align... blah blah blah.
I read a lot of romance novels and I accept that the genre as a whole does not lend itself to the category of "Literary Masterpieces". However, I do expect a certain level of polish when it comes to a completed novel, be it self-published or otherwise. But the writing of Refuse to Lose was so bad, even for a romance novel, that I was unable to finish the first chapter let alone the whole book, and here's why.
Reading this book, was like attending a wedding, but as someone's plus one:
"Hey Patty Plus-One, meet uncle Gerry. Gerry is the Father-of-the-Bride and runs a dice factory. They were only making the standard six sided die, but then Gerry's third cousin Larry's son, Jude, plays Dungeons and Dragons and suggested that they make 20-sided die so now they're working with Tiffany, Sarah's niece. Sarah is dating Jude's older brother, but is really having an affair with Uncle George's wife's brother's son, Larry (different Larry), so that she can get in with the first Larry's mother who's drawing up her will, and Sarah think's that Larry's boss can arrange tickets to the Met gala (not that met, the other met) so that Sarah gets put in the will. But what Sarah doesn't know is that both Larry's know, so Larry (the second Larry) is having it on with Sarah's Mum, and the other Larry is having it on with Tiffany, just out of spite. But, here's the kicker: it turns out that Larry thinks he's found the one, so has bought an engagement ring, which Sarah found and has told Tiffany. So now, Tiffany isn't talking to either Larry, until Sharon can do an assessment on the house. Hey, have you met Alex?"
Essentially, you're pretty sure that this situation may have included incest at some point, but you're too busy trying to figure out where and how to realise that there is a beautiful wedding with a HEA happening right behind you.
Add in some grammatical errors and then have the author create a hero who may as well be a teenage girl and you'll end up wanting to make liberal use of the reception's open bar rather than unravel the Jerry Springer-esque set-up to get to the HEA.
This book reminded me why I love Mignon Mykel and her writing! The next addition in the San Diego Enforcers series was wonderfully written and told the story of Trevor and Callie. Refuse to Lose is a standalone novel where the characters interconnect with the other books int the series.
We were first introduced to Trevor in Dropping the Gloves as the teammate that was always there for Marlo and her daughter. Now it's time for Trevor to find his love! At a party he is introduced to Callie, the sister of a teammate's wife. Whew! So many connections! At first he thinks she is too young for him but soon realizes that she is wise beyond her years. As with any love story they have their ups and downs, twists and turns as they find their way!
I voluntarily reviewed as advanced copy of this book.
All it took was a ride home for Trevor to know that Callie was the one for him. Trevor, an Enforcer, appears to have it all, but he is missing one thing, someone to share his life with. Callie, a pediatric nurse, has worked hard for everything she has and does not want to stand in Trevor’s shadow. Their love story took many twists and turns, but their story comes to an extremely satisfying end.
I am a huge Mignon Mykel fan and could not wait to get my hands on Trevor’s book. I loved this story from start to finish and can not wait to read what comes next. This book had everything anyone could ask for including love, humor, sex, and hockey. Readers will also get the chance to go inside the lives of some of the characters from previous books. This is certainly not a book to be missed!
This book was given to me in exchange for an honest review.
I love this author's style & the way she writes banter between characters - not just Trevor & Callie, but other conversations, as well. And I loved both Trevor & Callie's personalities!
I also really enjoyed how the story started out, but once they slept together, it seemed like THAT was all the story was about going forward. There were definitely relationship things they needed to work through, and there were things going on story-wise w/ both their jobs & other ppl in their lives. But the majority of their time together on the page was all about the steamy times. There wasn't a lot of conversational page-time after that, unless it was related to them getting busy.
Now, again, this was all written well, but just not my cup of tea, exactly. I do highly recommend this story if you like a lot of steamy goodness in your romance!!
I enjoyed the first book in this series and was anxiously waiting for Trevor's story. I fell in love with him in Marlo and Jordan's book and I knew his story would be special. Callie and Trevor intrigued me from the beginning. My husband and I are 10 years apart, so I loved the fact that Callie and Trevor were 10 years apart. I loved the way that the age difference and where they are at in their lives played into the story because having lived through it....that is real life. The scenes are hot and steamy and Trevor is the perfect book boyfriend. What would have made it 5 stars for me would to have gone a little bit deeper in their relationship through the year that they were together. Callie and Trevor made me fall for them!
Thank you to the author for providing an ARC of this book and I also won a copy in a giveaway. Mignon Mykel is an author that is new to me but I am so glad that I took a chance and read this book. She is a wonderful author and this story I feel in love with from the turn of the first page. I absolutely love a hockey romance story. Meeting Callie and Trevor made me think that of me and my husband at a young age and how we had our disagreements and foot in the mouth comments oh so very often. This relationship reminds you of a normal relationship that had its ups and downs. However the journey between the two of them is amazing and a heartfelt story. I look forward to more books by this author!!
I fell in love with Trevor in 27: Dropping the Gloves. I just loved his character. I was actually hoping he would end up with Harlo and Rori but my mind changed about half way through the book. Trevor was in need of his very own love, a love that is meant to be. Callie is nothing like what he thought she would be. He was so impressed by her achievements and just needed to know all things Callie.
The way these two fell in love was hot!🔥 This book will have you all in your feels. There is just so much raw emotion between these two that it just makes their love that much stronger. I absolutely LOVED the extended epilogue...OMG I’m hoping that means there is going to be a story that follows!!
This is my first book by Mignon and I thought her writing was wonderful. The story line was intriguing and flowed really well. I will admit the prologue had me wondering if this was going to be my kind of book but I had promised to read it so I pushed forward. I am SO glad that I did. Callie and Trevor were worth the late night reading sessions! Why Trevor is single is beyond me. Callie has depth and I love that the author made her strong and independent. Their story was sweet and dirty. The intimate moments are graphic, I'm sure I was blushing because of some of the very descriptive scenes. If you are wanting a well developed story with some dirty on the side this book is for you!
Mignon is an amazing author. I loved Trevor and Callie's story! While there is a gap in age, it seems like these two were a match made in heaven. I loved how sweet Trevor is and how when he is wrong he comes back to fix it. I loved how sassy Callie was while knowing what she wanted to do in life and how to eventually compromise for love. One thing I really enjoyed in this story was there wasn't serious drama or conflict that couldn't be resolved quickly. It shined more on their love and growth in each other. I loved this book so much I am going back to read every one of Ms. Mykel's books! Amazing job!!!
