The 1970s

Rate this book
During the 1970s, environmental and energy issues became increasingly controversial as lines at the gas pumps took center stage. Chapters discuss, in addition to these issues, domestic issues such as racial integration and the Watergate scandal, and international conflicts such as the end of the Vietnam War and the Iranian hostage crisis.

Summary: This book had many different perspectives on historical events in the 1970s. It included politics, pop culture, and social aspects. Politics included Nixon winning 49 out of the 50 states and then resigning just a year or two after that due to the Watergate crisis. The important pop culture event it talked about was Star Wars being released and the major impacts it had on cinema going forward.
Opinion: Overall I thought this book was hard to read with many boring parts. Although the events had good information to learn about it was presented in a way that was confusing to read about. The events that they picked were very interesting to learn about and provided a good perspective on what happened. I still think if you wanted to learn more about the 1970s this would be a good book to read.
