Man now she's gonna stay bc she's pregnant i hope she follows her mom's advice & leave his cheating behind i hate tht she got caught up like tht but she deserves better let him beat his side chick behind now on to part 2 to find out what she's gonna do
I felt bad for Solange's predicament for she had no idea of the monster she married. Well told as their 1st encounters were explained. Her mom Anna told her the truth as she witnessed Demarcus' evil ways come to the surface. I thought this was a great beginning to the series as domestic violence is a serious subject that needs addressing.
This book legit had my heart beating out of my chest. This was such an emotional read for me, to being in situations like this and watching the ones you love in situations like this. It broke my heart because I knew from the first time he slammed her head into the fridge that he would kill her. I knew she truly believed that he would change and that her love was so strong it would make a difference.
It’s so unfortunate because this story may not be real but it’s so real there are so many women losing their life to the “MAN” they thought would protect them. While the families have to pick up the pieces, because when someone you love, chooses their abusers despite the scars, the bumps, the bruises, they stay because it’s so so hard.
I’m sure so many people read this and was like she’s a dumb b**** or stupid. She wanted LOVE it’s so easy to judge on the outside but being on the inside is so many different view points and disadvantages.
This was a phenomenal read but also a very sad one. If you lack empathy, compassion or judge someone in your life who has similar experiences, remember Ms.ANNA and despite her knowing her daughter was losing a battle, her support and not being judgy is what allowed her to be at peace with how she cared and showed Solange what love was, even if it was never enough. Love isn’t hurting someone who is already hurting. Even with words. Food for thought.
Solange met DeMarcus while in college, but shied away from dating him, because he was an athlete. After months of trying, he finally weighs her down and a relationship blossoms.
Upon graduation, DeMarcus is drafted to the New England Patriots and decides to take Solange along...as his wife. It seems as if the pressures of being a rookie athlete take a toll on him, and he begins to take it out on his wife. What started out as a slap, turned into full-fledged beatings.
Solange has the man,the house and the car, but she’s not truly happy. Her husband begins to isolate her from family members and friends, he refuses to let her work and wants her home waiting for him with a hot meal everyday. When she decides to get a life of her own, the physical abuse begins and only gets worse with time. She’s too embarrassed to tell her family and too afraid to leave. Inside she’s crying out for help and screaming “Please Save Me Before It’s Too Late!”
I definitely recommend this 💎💎💎💎💎read, but warn readers that it will have you in your feelings. The prologue nearly ripped my heart right out of my chest. This is my first book by @lady_lissa832, recommended for Domestic Violence Awareness Month by Lenika Winfield, but definitely not my last.
Stories like this we hear all to often. As women we love hard & seem to let things slide at times. We keep making excuses or worrying about what someone will say or think. We allow ourselves to be hurt, abused, cheated on, lied to all because we love that person. First we need to love ourselves. This is for men & women if you have to keep asking yourself the same question over & over again times like that you need to let go. It is not worth your life, health, respect, dignity, or your pride. Let go & let someone who really loves you treat you as such. Domestic violence is not right regardless of who you are. It's best to leave sooner than later cause things can get uglier by the minute. This book is sad cause we all know someone who has been through this but stayed & may not have made it out. It should encourage you if you have done these same things in this book to move on. That is easier said than done but it can be done with help, determination, but most of all through prayer. This author has did a good job or with this book. Ready to get to part 2 to see how things play out. Just hoping it's a happy ending cause most of the time they are not.
Lady Lissa is at it again with another domestic violence book. This was a great story to read and share with anybody going through this situation. The story didn't go off track with the subject hand. I loved how it was so realistic. Demarcus was the guy until he turned into a monster. You don't have to grow up around abuse to become the abuser. In Demarcus case this is what you see....no man in the home and was raised by a single parent. Where did this come from? Solange let her guard down for Demarcus and fell in love with a gentle guy. There were signs that she shouldn't have been with him. Sevyn vouched for him, but I think that changed when he started cheating. So much to read about in part one and I'm waiting see what Lady Lissa is going to have Demarcus doing next. I hope his mom talk some sense into his abusive ahh. I just hate that this is happening to anyone....great topic to push the issue on.
What a good story but very sad too. I love Lady L's style of writing. She addressed this topic so thoroughly, you felt like you were right there with Solange. I was so hoping either Anna or Sevyn would be able to talk her out of going back with Demarcus the first time but NOT. I really, really hoped when he got sent to prison, that there'd be two big Bubba's that would take a liking to Demarcus and show him some lovin but oops, that didn't happen dammit! I was also hoping Frank would kick his ass but good to knock him down a few pegs but sadly, that got interrupted. I felt so bad for Solange! She loved her husband very much so therefore she put up with his abuse and believed him every time he told her how sorry he was for beating her. He always blamed her for it saying "look what you made me do" which would then have her make excuses for him being under a lot of stress. Anyway, I look forward to reading more of Lady L's books. Thank you for some good readying Lady L.
I cried so hard reading this book because it brought back ALOT of memories from my childhood and I know a few people who are in abusive relationships. I wouldn’t wish this type of pain on my worse enemy. This book really opened my eyes to muniplatation, betrayal and the true meaning of love had no boundaries. Love can kill, love can be blind and love can get you killed. Often times us woman think if we can just stick it out and work it out and if we stay down in the end a man will love us more or respect us more. If a man is abusing you idc mentally, physically and emotionally that man IS NOT FOR YOU‼️ This was a great book highly highly highly recommend everyone to read this especially every woman! It’s hard to get through some of the chapters because of how intense the story is but this could possibly save someone’s life maybe even yours. Thanks lady lissa I love this book ❤️❤️❤️
Wow, wow and wow!!! Please Save Me Before It’s Too Late by Lady L is emotional and good read. This is not my first time reading the domestic abuse. Domestic abuse is no joke. This author does a good job.
I’m not going say anything about this book but I want to say two characters from this book. Solange is a intelligent and amazing person. She needs to pay close attention to Demarcus. She needs to look in the mirror and asked herself a question.
Child, Demarcus is a something else. He’s definitely shows two different side of him to Solange. My question is: will Solange leave this situation with him and focus on herself? Technically, both of them need to get some help. Solange should listen to her mom.
I can’t wait to read part 2 of Please Save Me Before It’s Too Late.
Solange was beautiful, smart, and had a good head on her shoulders. She met and fell in love with Damarcus, a controlling, manipulative, and heartless man that cared more about his money and fame than the love Solange proved over and over she had for him. Damarcus did things to Solange that no human being should ever have to endure. I was hoping Solange walked away and never looked back after what happened to her baby girl, but who am I to judge , I’m not the one wearing her shoes.. This book will definitely make you cry.. My heart broke for Anna(her mom) her dad,and her best friend Sevyn. Domestic abuse is shameful in any situation, but sometimes you got to walk that walk of shame and get away while you still got that option.
Solange had her whole life planned out. Coming from a loving home with equally loving parents. Nothing could stand in her way of pursuing her lifelong dream or so she thought until she met Demarcus. Demarcus also has his life planned with becoming a professional football player. However once the fairytale was over. Solange find herself living a nightmare. Demarcus soon turned into the devil himself. I know it was hard for Solange mother Anna to know what her daughter was going through. Pam act like what her son was accused of doing was unbelievable. I hope Solange finds her strength and leave before it's too much late. I'm looking forward to part two.
This story had me in tears 😭 Demarcus Demarcus oh how I wish I could’ve came through this book and whup his ass. What the hell did Solange ever do to him. There are so many solange’s in the world it’s sad and scary. This book really hit home because I had a best friend who use to get beat but I’m so happy god save her before it was too late for her. I wish Solange would’ve listened to her mom. I knew from the beginning Demarcus was going to be controlling as ever. It was such a sad book but it’s sad because it’s someone reality today.
Hot is an understatement. I can't believe Solange is allowing this man to ruin her. Knowing her dad has no problem handling the situation. I feel so bad for her because she thinks their marriage makes them bonded for life. In a way it does but she shouldn't have to be a punching bag. Her mom is 38 hot. They have a special place DeMarcus and I can't wait for him to make it there
This was a very emotional read for me. As a survivor of domestic violence, I felt every punch that Demarcus delivered. I was once Solange, but I found the strength and courage to fight back and finally get out. People say that they can't or are afraid to leave, but I am living proof that you can get out. I was so hoping that Anna would have busted his head to the white meat. I can't wait to see what's going to happen next in part 2.
JUST WHEN SOLANGE PUTS HER GUARDS DOWN AND GIVES DEMARCUS A CHANCE HE ACTS A FOOL. EVERYTHING CHANGES WHEN SHE AGREED TO MARRY HIM. HE CHEATS AND HE HITS HER. HE CHANGED AND SHE DIDN’T EVEN SEE IT COMING. SHE STAYED AND DEALT WITH IT THINKING HE WAS JUST STRESSED.. NOW PREGNANT WITH HIS CHILD I HOPE SHE GETS OUT BEFORE HE KILLS HER.
I love to read domestic violence books but I just hate how the women take so long to get out or some never make it out. It should definitely be a wake u call to anyone reading books like this that’s in that kind of situation to get out. Very good book I love all of this authors book.
Dang man this is a really hard book to read. It said to read a story like this and wonder why people in real life just don't leave. Solange is such a sweet and caring person who lost her way because of her husband DeMarcus. I can't wait to see what happens with his career though. I hope she leaves him for good before it's too late.
The first slap start taking note because this is what men do the love on you get you to settle and then try again, any woman going through this please do not walk run, I watched my mom get beat with a belt buckle and has child I couldn't do anything about it. Demarcus is a bitch
Domestic violence is never ok under any circumstances. There is never an excuse for it to occur. Solange's story is all to familiar. I will read more from this author about this couple to find out if Solange finally gets the courage to leave.
Good read. This was my first official time trying her work out and it was well written. Demarcus didn't deserve Solange. What made it so bad is that she didn't even want that man at all at first when he wanted her. I felt so bad for her because of that and she had to endure his abuse after being with him so long. She better leave him in Part 2 lol.
This story took me on a emotional roller coaster Demarcus is one of those men who you hate . So many women sometimes can't get out those type of situations and people on the outside jury & have so many opinions but if it isn't you don't judge I just hope & pray the can make it out there situation before its to late without judgement!
This was such a heartbreaking story , by the end of the story I get so emotional. I couldn’t believe how things turn out for this beautiful young lady . I can’t understand why she couldn’t just let it go , leave that worthless man alone . As women we tend to be too good , giving to much passes and losing ourselves in the process .
Oh wow! I was really hoping for a happy ending but when Solange decided to go back home with Demarcues I knew it wouldn’t end well. Solange loved him like most battered women do. She really believed he would change. Anna and Frank did all they could to convince her to stay but he could always find away to get her. Great job on this book.
I could not put this book down. From the beginning to the end I felt like i knew the characters in this book. Domestic violence is real and I am so greatful that I got out alive. Look out for your friends and family members. Never be afraid to help because they may not be strong enough to ask for the help they need.
I would highly recommend this book. I showed several levels of emotions while reading it. I kept asking myself why in the hell is she so blind to the truth? There are so many females like Solange who assume that love can conquer all. Maybe this book can help someone who finds him or herself in the same position.
All Solange wanted was love. DeMarcus was selfish, controlling, childish, and self-centered. Abuse always starts with isolation. The abuse thinks it’s love but they are blinded. She had many chances to say that’s it but DeMarcus was very manipulative. Her love cost her her life. When that little voice inside says get out get out.
Damascus got everything he deserved. There were red flags everywhere and Solange didn’t follow those signs. Sevyn is my girl. I just wished she would’ve fought harder to save Solange. Demarcus was very controlling and very physical. He only thought of himself. Rest easy Solange and baby girl!!!
I love these types of stories. Call me crazy I don't care. My favorite character in this story is Anna. Lol that woman don't play. Demarcus is getting out of hands. This time he went to far. Part 2 me please😃😄
A great read . I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves to read . Solange is strong for putting up with everything that was going on . I will be reading the next book to find out what happens to her .
Demarcus was definitely a wolf in sheeps clothing. Solange needs to get away from him before he kills her. I was waiting for her father to show up and beat his ass. I hope she can get away from him in time before he kills her
