But, when Jessie’s past catches up with her, will Blake be able to keep her safe? What a great series finale! I have enjoyed this series from the beginning and have watched the sexy alpha police chief Blake Cooper and Jessie Clark, the foul mouth firefighter with a tough exterior, but a heart of gold; dance around their love-hate relationship. They both are close with their McKenzie Ridge family of friends and would do anything to help each one of them, but they both keep people at arm’s length, not sharing their personal secrets and pain.

There is so much going on that I was held captive watching as twists and turns added to the plot, building tension as layer upon layer of clues are discovered and explored. I loved that the O’Reilly boys were involved as well as the rest of the McKenzie gang that I have grown to feel as family. I was rooting for Blake and Jessie to finally succumb to their undeniable chemistry and when they do, whoa it was HOT!

I don’t want to give away anything as this finale needs to be read and enjoyed. The book is best saved for last after enjoying the series that is McKenzie Ridge. This is a wonderful, well written series that has you falling in love with the characters and the town. There are laughs, tears, tension, great chemistry and smoldering sexy times, hilarious dialog and banter. The characters and secondary characters are real and some are quirky! I love each and every one of them. Terrific book and wonderful series!

"Their fight was harder because their love was bigger- it was fated- they had just been blind to it." This sentence is how I would describe Blake and Jessie through the first four books in this series. They have been minor characters with big roles and I fell hard for them from the first book. THIS is what I was waiting for and Ms. St.Klaire has outdone herself. The story that unfolds in these pages is more than I could have ever expected and everything I needed.
So Blake and Jessie... who do I tackle first? Blake. Blake is everyone's protector. He is not only the law in town but he is ex military. But nobody knows exactly what he did in the military because 1, he never talks about it and 2 neither does anybody else. And 3 the core group of friends would never dare to ask. Throughout the series, he's been the one to come up with plans that catch the bad guy. He puts the right people where they need to be in order to protect his friends and the people he considers family. This one is different in that Jessie has worked her way into his heart. She didn't even try. The relationship that they have has in the past is one of tolerance and so much snarkiness. They are the king and queen of one line zingers. What it masks is the unwillingness to let anyone get close. Blake's demons are kept so close to his vest that he refuses to share with anyone. Until he screws up with Jessie and feels he owes her a piece of him that no one else does.
Jessie is the town bad ass. She doesn't take shit from anyone and will let you know what you did wrong immediately and bluntly. She loves her friends and is fiercely protective of them too. She has learned to be that way because of her past as well. She even became a firefighter to defeat one of her demons. And she's succeeding. She is one of the bravest people on the team. She runs to the danger not away from it. That is until her past starts showing up. The man who she was a victim of was released from prison and things are happening around town that are all too familiar. Jessie has always been my favorite character in this series. She is snarky and blunt but not in a mean way. She doesn't talk down to her friends and she will protect them within a inch of her life. But she has never told anyone what happened to her. No one knows and she feels that they can never know. She doesn't want their pitty. When she becomes a godmother to one of the many babies born, this quote is perfect. " Godmother, not mentor. You may teach her you kindness and love for others, not swearing and flipping people off."
When they finally do get together, I don't think a nuclear explosion could have torn me away from my book. They love each other totally and they know that it would never be just sex. I was a puddle after swooning to the conversations they had about this subject.
In every Mackenzie Ridge story, there is more than just a love story and this is no different. Jessie's past comes barreling down on her and she is paralyzed with fear not just for herself but for the people she considers family. She can't let anything happen to them. And true to Blake's nature, he has all the details of Jessie's past. He can't and won't let anything happen to her. He watches over her constantly, even moving himself and his dog into her home. I was kept guessing through until the very last chapter. Ms St. Kaire weaves a tale from book one that concludes here in book 5. I am sorry to see this series end. I found myself not wanting to finish. But the best was definitely saved for last. Blake and Jessie will stay with me for a long time.

What a fantastic end to a fabulous series. What a way to send Mackenzie Ridge out in a blaze of glory. From book one you just knew that Blake and Jessie would get together, they were alike in that they both had hidden pasts that neither had come to terms with. This book had me on the edge of my seat from page one and didn’t let up until the end. A peek into Jessie’s past was given to us at the beginning when Blake thought she was in trouble and had to protect her. Blake knew her past but didn’t tell her because he knew her even if she didn’t think he did and this was not something she would want him to know about her. She didn’t want to be broken or damaged in anyone’s eyes least of all Blake’s. Where Jessie used her hostility and abrasiveness to keep people away from her thinking she was saving herself from caring for people and having them leave her or disappoint her, Blake kept himself behind his closed off demeanor to protect himself. These two needed each other to heal from the past. As danger got closer, Blake became more protective of Jessie and he needed outside help. In comes his old Army buddy,Carter and Logan, his deceased Army buddy’s son and the O’Reilly brothers and their company Brothers Keeper to help Blake protect Jessie. As more fires are burning in Mackenzie Ridge everyone pulls together to protect Jessie. Even though she wanted to protect her “family”from her past Jessie finally realized she needed to tell them to keep them safe.
When Blake and Jessie finally open up to each other they find a whole new world. One that includes each other in an actual relationship not the antagonistic relationship they had. They did realize underneath that that they were meant for each other. Something that everyone else in Mackenzie Ridge knew all along. When Blake and Jessie finally made it to the bedroom their need for each other was explosive. Those scenes were HOT!
This entire series has been fantastic and this book was just the cherry on top. The way the entire series was wrapped up in the end was perfect and you couldn’t ask for a better or a more fitting end.

It is amazing to think that Ms. St. Klaire has only been writing since 2016, because she is by far one of the best writers out there for romantic suspense. This last story in the series is like the finale at a fireworks display. I was so blown away and yet so sad that it was over. This story of Jessie and Blake has been simmering since the very beginning of the series and boiled over in Redemption. Theirs is a love/hate relationship. They really antagonize each other through most of the book, but that is just who Jessie is. She would much rather give you the finger than say hello. Blake is a protector and bent on protecting the prickly Jessie from her horrific past coming back to terrorize her. Jessie thinks her past is hidden from all of her friends and is really PO'd that Blake has unearthed it. Blake has a hidden past of his own. They must share their pasts in order to put aside their animosity and let the shells around them crack. As things heat up in the sheets, so do they in their little community...and not in a good way. They must work together to overcome the evil that threatens them and those they love. Will it be enough to put out the danger? Will the two strongest of people soften and come together to stay?
I would normally say that you just have to read this book, but in the case of the McKenzie Ridge series, I have to say you have just got to read the whole series. I say that not because you can't read this book without reading the others, but because each one is so amazing that you will do yourself an injustice if you don't read EVERY SINGLE ONE of them. Well played, Ms. St. Klaire, well played!

As with all Stephanie St. Klaire's I was on the edge of my seat. She pulls you in with the first chapter and it doesn't end there. Her books make you feel like you've been through your worst nightmare. "Redemption" is no different. It sucks you in and holds you there. Blake and Jessie are both have broken souls. They both believe that if you keep people at a distance, you won't be hurt. They keep fooling themselves with heated barbs to keep each other away. Jessie didn't know that she'd need Blake to be safe. Blake knew something/someone hurt Jessie horribly and unbeknownst to her, he's been keeping her safe since she showed up in McKenzie Ridge. Blake had his own demons to fight. When Jessie's past comes back to haunt her will she trust Blake with the truth so he can hopefully chase away or slay her demon. As usual with Stephanie, you won't know who dun it till the end!
Another great read from Stephanie. This is a stand-alone book but will be better enjoyed if you start at the beginning of the series. Total awesomeness.

An Emotional Journey! Two people deeply flawed and broken by their pasts find each other and begin the process of helping each other heal while chasing a psychopath.

This is the final book in the Mackenzie Series and it was perfect!! I have waited a long time for Blake and Jessie's story and it was SO worth it!! This story touched my heart and will live there for a while! I also LOVED the ending!! I will not give it away but I will say, it was the perfect way to end the series!!

Blake and Jessie have been the couple you have been pulling for since book 1 of the series.
Blake is sexy and mysterious. He is a true alpha determined to keep his town and friends safe.
Jessie is sexy and has no trouble telling you like it is.
Together the sexual frustration and playful banter is hilarious. Their past both heartbreakingly tragic.
This book brings back all the gang. It will make you laugh and cry.
Perfect end to a perfect series. Hopefully we will see them in the brother's keepers series!!

That opening scene set the tone for the story from the very beginning! My heart about jumped out of my chest! Who was trying to hurt Jessie? Would Blake get there in time? Would he ever recover if he was too late? My next thought isn't polite to say or write! I'm sure the authors ears were burning!! This was just the first unexpected twist in this story.

Blake & Jessie are two damaged individuals that find themselves drawn to each other even as they try to fight it. Jessie doesn't want to let anyone in & wants to make sure none of her friends get hurt. She tries to keep them all at bay with her wit, sarcasm & overall snarky attitude. Blake loves Jessie, even as she is trying to resist him, & wants to protect her in any way he can. These characters, & all of the rest of the Mackenzie Ridge residents, are such diverse, complex characters. They all add dimension to different components of the plot. The interactions between Jessie & Blake are indescribable. Love, love, love this book & the entire series!!

Ms. St. Klaire saved the best for last.We have seen these two throughout the series and been waiting for them to admit that they want each other.Blake & Jessie are two damaged souls hiding their past traumas.Blake hides his by knowing everything about everyone and taking care of them whether they want it or not & Jessie hides behind her sarcastic, foul mouth & flipping everyone off. They both have the biggest hearts. The beginning of this story is not what you expect and I could not stop laughing once I figured it out.If you are looking for a book that has it all, laughter, tears, guess who and a lot of love this is the one.Ms. St. Klaire's books just keep getting better and better and they are like riding a rollercoaster that you don't want to get off. This series is spectacular and though I am sad to see it end this was the perfect ending.

OMG! Holy. Freaking. Crap! Talk about saving the best for last! Five stars all the way! I love every single book from this series, but this one blew them all out of the water. Jessie and Blake's story has been a long time coming, and boy was it worth the wait. The build up and anticipation to their relationship in all the other stories made it that much better. I was completely hooked from page one! There's so much I want to say, but don't want to give anything away. Trust me, when you get to the end, you'll be glad I didn't. So I'm just gonna say this......you need to read this book! Suspense, romance, chemistry, angst, friendship, fear, family and sexiness! Yeah, you need to read this book!

OMG! Just finished. What an amazing end to a phenomenal series.

Redemption was not a redemption story for Stephanie but it definitely was redeeming for Jessie and Blake.

Jessie was a ball busting sass machine with a heart of gold and a past that was holding her.

Blake was all alpha and protector, not just for Jessie, but the whole McKenzie Clan. He had a past that broke my heart, but once explored made me love him more.

The storyline was SOOOO Stephanie, twists and turns and a story to melt your panties, make you cry and say WTF?!

The end of the series is heartbreaking, but what a way to go. Stephanie’s growth throughout this series is phenomenal and a privilege to be a part of, reading it was a delight.

Cannot wait to see what Stephanie has for us next.

Blake had a softer side that she always suspected he had but only witnessed for the first time tonight. He made her feel safe, and she believed him when he said he would protect her. She didn't doubt that for a minute. But could she let him?

BLAKE & JESSIE! AHHH! FINALLY!

I've been waiting for this story foreeeeeever, and I was not disappointed. These two have been dancing around each other for far too long. And when this story began ... wow, it didn't even start slow! I can't believe how much was jam packed into this story!

As much as I love Jessie & her sassy, independent attitude, I kinda wanted to smack her a couple times. She was just SO argumentative, and although I totally get her later, right then she was frustrating! Everyone tries so hard to get close to her, but she just keeps pushing them away. Especially Blake, who sees something in her that he identifies with, and when he tries to help -- she just keeps pushing!

When Jessie is almost ... well, let's just say something major happens, and Blake has finally had it! "I said stop. That means quiet. I talk; you listen...got it?" He tossed her a look of fury that easily matched her own. "You could have died back there, ya know it? Died, Jessie. I know you are dealing with something-something big-and I get that you aren't ready to or just don't want to talk about it, but let's get something clear. You don't get to kill yourself. You don't get to die, running from whatever the hell you're running from. You don't get to leave us, or ... me." Gah! Yes! Thank you, Blake, for finally manning up and letting her know what's up!

Seriously, there was so much going on that I can't begin to cover it all in a review. The unraveling of Blake, and Jessie, was such a beautiful and difficult thing to read. I loved being able to delve into their pasts and into their hearts, but it also broke my heart a little. This story delivered the anticipated suspense and action I love, but also something truly beautiful.

Two of my favorite lines --one represented how deep Blake truly had already fallen: "Because falling into bed with you is falling in love with you. Okay?" and the other showed Jessie's true strength to rebuild her life and encompasses all that is McKenzie: "I chose life, and good, and happiness. That's what brought me to McKenzie and keeps me here."

The Best Yet!

I am sad that this is the final book in the McKenzie Ridge series because these books are so good. The upside is that I am sure that there are greater reads on the horizon from this very talented author. She brought a quiet, sleepy, little, town into our lives and made it come to life with characters that became part of a large quirky family. From all walks of life, with mysterious and troubled pasts, the townspeople of McKenzie Ridge come together to support one another each and every time they need it.

I absolutely love this entire series but with Blake and Jessie, their story was the unknown. The author did this one proud! She finalized this series with a bang! The entire cast was included in one way or another giving each one a final bow. I loved how each couple went on to have multiple children and were able to go beyond their Happily Ever After. Finding out that Blake had a tough life to endure, he definitely deserved to find his happiness. Jessie also had a past that would forever change a person so having Blake in her life made all the difference.

This might be the last book in this fabulous series, but it certainly didn’t lack for action, dangerous fires, and a whole lot of hot stuff! It made me laugh and it made me cry with page after page of humor, angst and frustration. The twist and turns of Blake and Jessie’s unique relationship have you dedicated to reading this story in one sitting. The “who done it” part is definitely unexpected and well written with the conclusion very satisfying.

I love how these characters all come together with such fierce love, loyalty and camaraderie together in this book as well as this entire series. I can’t wait to see what the author comes up with next! Excellent job!

Redemption is the last book in the McKenzie Ridge series. The twists and turns the couples in this series have all faced, were well written and well thought out. I’ve been waiting for Blake and Jessie’s story since Ms. St. Klaire’s first introduced us to McKenzie Ridge. It was worth the wait.

Blake and Jessie both have shadowy backgrounds. They’re private people. They don’t share what their lives were like prior to settling into life in McKenzie Ridge. Blake is ex-military and needs to be the protector. In his role as Police Chief, he fills that position quite well. Jessie needs to be strong. As a firefighter she faces her demons daily. When evil converges in McKenzie Ridge, Blake and Jessie are both in danger from their pasts.

The intrigue in this book is right up there with the romance. As usual, there is a sharp right turn towards the end of the book, that you absolutely do not see coming! A fabulous ride, and a worthy ending to this wonderful series.

I’ve been reading Stephanie St. Klaire since her debut in 2016. Holy Kats…she’s only been writing for about 2 years and I look forward to all of her works.

Redemption is the 5th and possibly best book in Stephanie St. Klaire's series McKenzie Ridge. It is packed with suspense, memorable characters and combustible chemistry. From the start I was on the edge of my seat burning through the pages. Then I was nearly falling out of my chair with laughter. Stephanie St. Klaire concocts the perfect mixture of emotions while reading this book. I never knew what was going to happen, but I loved each and every moment of it.

In this story, you finally get to see the feisty Jessie and mysterious Blake in full force. They are pivotal characters in this series and it is great to finally get to know what makes them who they are. Each has a past they have kept under lock and key, but sometimes the past has a way of coming back to haunt you.

I am sad to see this series end, but I am sure it will not be the last we see of the characters within. I am hopeful we will get to meet the O'Reillys in future books to come from this talented author. The snippets she has revealed about Carigan's brothers make me wanting for more from them.

It's sad to know that this is the finale of the McKenzie Ridge series, but Ms. St. Klaire closed it out with more than just a bang...she gave us a technicolor explosion! This book had me on a roller coaster of emotions. I laughed, I swooned, I ugly-cried, and I fell in love even more with McKenzie Ridge.
Blake and Jessie are two hard-as-nails bad-butts who have been butting heads from the series beginning. They both have secrets in their pasts and have built tough exteriors as a survival technique. Deep down, they have serious feelings for each other but are afraid to act on them. As Blake said, "Because Jessie! Because falling in bed with you is falling in love with you. Okay? I…can’t. I can’t love you. I can’t…love.”
Blake and Jessie must go through a baptism by fire, and this author drew me in and made me feel all their emotions. However, this story also featured all my old, faithful friends from McKenzie Ridge. This was my favorite book in the series. I highly recommend reading it!

I was worried when I started this book it wouldn't be as good as previous in the series since it was the last one in McKenzie series. I was so very wrong. The author saved the best couple for last. Blake and Jessica are both backbones for everyone in McKenzie. They both have troubled pasts that have each with walls on their hearts to not only protect themselves but those they love from their haunted past which makes them stubborn and overprotective of those they care about.

While Blake and Jessica's love/hate relationship causes them to butt heads on a daily, they find themselves in unchartered territory when the past comes to McKenzie. Can they make it out of the trouble with their hearts still intact? You will have to read to find out. Something that is kinda a spoiler is the individuals from Brothers Keeper series make an appearance in this book. Love how they crossover from one series to another.

This book offers suspense, witty banter, laughter, drama, adult situations, betrayal, family and of course love. There could be triggers for some regarding rape but it is not in vivid detail so just a fair warning it is there.

I recommend that the series be read in order or at least save this book for last. Each book could be a standalone since each focus on a specific couple but this book ends with a status update on everyone. It is the perfect ending to a great series.

Really look forward to what the author has next for a series.

Oh my gosh!!! I want to read the series all over again.
This is the fifth book in the McKenzie Ridge series. This is the book where Jessie and Blake finally get time for their story. Jessica and Blake both have secrets in their past. They have closed of those parts of their lives and do not want to share the stories with anyone.....until Jessica's past come back to haunt her. Blake becomes extremely overbearing and has to take care of Jessie. Due to Blake's job, he knows what has happened to Jessie - every little detail. But he will not tell a single person.
Will Jessie's past ruin McKenzie Ridge and take Blake away from her?
This really is a fantastic book. Very quick to read, lots of emotion - everywhere!! Laughing, crying, gasping...
This book can be read as a standalone, but really should read all of the books so you know the characters and stories behind them. I am going to read them all again because I love them!!

Immediately after finishing this book I knew I had to write this review while the feels were still hot and true. Redemption was everything and more of what I have been waiting for. I have been eagerly awaiting Jessie and Blake’s story from the very first McKenzie book, and each installment was just more and more of a tease to their separate dark pasts. Finally getting to reading their story was a dream!

Everything about these stubborn characters was played out in the most beautiful and angsty of ways. Believe me Jessie and Blake were worth the wait!

True to form with a McKenzie Ridge novel there is plenty of love, lust and angst mixed up with a heap of danger, mystery and a set of friendships that can’t be broken. This entire series has meant so much to me and I have loved every minute of these books. This is a series that just about anyone can find enjoyable and addictive.

Absolutely the bet McKenzie Ridge story!! I loved reading Blake & Jessie's story, hearing about their pasts and what they both lost and suffered through was heartbreaking. All the plot twists were amazing, still baffled by the fact that Logan was responsible for mostly what happened in the present. It kind of felt like he stabbed Blake in the back, but I can also understand the turmoil he went through growing up. Beyond thrilled that Blake and Jessie were able to have children after all that she endured from Jason. Enough spoilers, definitely a book you need to read!! If I could give it more than 5 stars I definitely would. I'm sad this was the last book in the McKenzie series, but I'm sure we will be able to find out how the "McKenzie Family" is doing from time to time or at least I hope so! Stephanie you truly knocked this one out of the park!!

Oh wow! This amazing book has it all, suspense, hot sexy scenes, tragic events, and so much love. Jessie has such a harsh mouth and attitude that you just can't help but laugh at what comes out of her mouth. After I learned about what she went through 10 years ago, her attitude made total sense. Blake oh sexy silent protector Blake. To find out what he went through was a bit of a shock. I have loved these two since book one. Knew they felt so much for each other. They make the perfect couple. They saved each other. I love this series and am sad that this is the last book in it. This is by far my favorite. What a way to save the best for last. That is what the fanatic Stephanie did this this one.

REDEMPTION; Book 5 McKenzie Ridge

So good. I couldn’t put down.

Blake Cooper knows what happened to Jessie but won’t let on. He’ll do whatever it takes to protect her even though she goes out of her way to drive me insane. It’s his job, and that goes for all the town. Jessie and him joke around a lot which is what there relationship is all about.

Jessie can’t let her past harm Blake he means to much. She may have the attitude that things just roll off of her, but she cares in her own way. When push comes to shove she’s there for anyone of them.

She needs to either tell Blake everything, or risk things getting out of hand due to her past. Will he understand, or does he know already.

What an amazing book. The whole series is. Jessie and Blake have something in common. But can they share with one another the pain they both have gone through?

Highly recommend.

This book is brilliant!!! Stephanie St. Klaire saved her best work for last. After reading Redemption, I've been thinking long and hard how will she ever outdo this book, and she's got her work cut out for her. Technically, this book is flawless. Everything ties up beautifully, good length, a nice pace is set from the beginning, and the build up is the best from all the books. All the characters make their appearances but this one is completely centered in Blake and Jessie. Be prepared, because this one is not for the faint of heart. I laughed, I cried, I rooted for them, I screamed, pulled my hair, sighed, and, by the end, the outcome was far better than what I would have ever expected or imagined. This is definitely the perfect ending for an era, because that's what McKenzie Ridge is, an era for SSK followers. SSK is super talented and I can't wait to see what she has prepared after this.

Blake and Jessie finally get their HEA! While this book can be read as a stand alone, it would be much better having read the series. The series really puts an amazing perspective on both of these characters, their personalities and understanding of a troubled past. Their bantering is funny and always so well placed throughout the book. Blake has a military past, one that you know has left him with many scars from what he experienced. Jessie is much harder. You know something is there, but until this story, you do not get to hear about her past. I enjoyed the suspense of this book. It flowed so well from start to finish while building up the very twisted ending you do not expect. And the ending was perfect for these two characters who deserved to put their pasts behind them and find love.

Wow! The much anticipated conclusion to The McKenzie Ridge series did not disappoint! It was fantastic!

Jessie, tough, rude, crass is hiding a big secret from her friends and when that secret puts her in danger Blake is right there to protect her.

This story had lots of great twists as well as plenty of romance, tears, and fun with the whole crowd of friends. And babies. Lots of babies.

A fabulous ending this series!
