Can you really find your soulmate when you're only eight years old...only to lose her two years later and never know what happened ?
No way. It can't be...Yes, it's her...
Getting kissed long and slow by that city boy douche-bag is Rachel Sawyer, my best friend and secret love, back when I was just a boy.
The only girl who could ever hold my interest past a minute.
I want to punch that guy for touching her like that...and I just might.
But I've got a ranch and live a quiet existence until I saw her. There's no way I can compete with her flashy New York City life.
I don't care. If I don't steal Rachel away from that dick, I'll never have another chance.
I won't lose her. Not to him. Not to New York. Not to anyone.
Not again.
RACHEL
As Ryan answers yet another work email, I spy a gorgeous man intently staring at me, emerald green eyes daring me to remember him.
Oh my God it's him...my first kiss... The one who always got me into trouble is now trouble-incarnate.
Jaxson Cocker.
All grown up into the rugged and masculine drop-your-panties-at-the-door kind of sexy.
But I love Ryan...so why the hell am I walking toward Jaxson like he's a magnet and I'm metal?
We're no longer the innocent children we used to be. That chemistry we once had has ripened into something dangerous.
I want him to touch me, but I shouldn't. I want him to kiss me, but I shouldn't.
Just because Ryan said those horrible things...doesn't mean I have the right to do this. Does it?! Why is it some men have the power to make you do things you never dreamed you'd do? Do you follow your heart or your head?
If you're shy about sex, this whole series is not for you.

Cocky Cowboy (Cocker Brothers of Atlanta #3) By Faleena Hopkins
Jaxson & Rachel haven’t seen one another for twenty years. , they were close childhood friends but they were separated when they were around nine or ten- now after all those years both seem to still have a connection to each other Jaxson is the Cowboy, who lives the quiet life in the country with his farm animals- he’s not fan of the big city life Jaxson is usually the quiet one, so when the Cocker clan got call to come bail Jaxson out of jail - everyone was surprised- Clean, upscale snob meets rough, ready to fight, tattooed cowboy
, Rachel is the writer & also a blogger that lives in hustle & bustle of New York City with her very self-centered & stuck up boyfriend Ryan "I don’t know why I hang out with you, Jaxson. You’re not nice!” His grin spread"He smirked, “You hang out with me because you’re in love with me.”
My jaw dropped in horror. “As if! You only wish! Ha! Keep dreaming!” "The lady doth protest too much, me thinks,” he laughed."
“What you see is what you get.”
I believe this book falls into one of those books you really don’t wanna give away too much in the review
The book had suspense, love, drama & passion- but most important 2nd chances - & omg one big twist to it I enjoyed every Cocker brother’s story so far .this was a lovely story I can barely wait for the next story
**ARC generously provided by author in exchange for an honest review.** 1- Cocky Roomie- Jake 2- Cocky Biker- Jett 3- Cocky Cowboy – Jaxson
This whole series is light popcorn filler, but this installment is particularly superficial and flimsy. A lot of repetition, telling not showing, unfunny jokes, paper-thin characterisations, pathetic sex scenes, and cotton candy family relations.
The most ridiculous part though: .
The only good element was that the perfect family turned out, in part, to not be so perfect.
Very poorly written. I recommend not reading. Plus I’ve read this character name in too many other books. Definitely not original. I would skip this author altogether.
This is the third book in the series and I did not like it! The book is the story of Jackson & Rachel, It is a romance between childhood fried to lover. My first pet peeve is the fact that they first got together when Rachel was still with her BF. Now I'm not a prude, but there are thing that I don't like, not in my fantasy, or real life. If it was the guy in the relationship who did it we would be calling him all sort of name, so cheering for the girl feel hypocritical to me. Beside she was having doubt about the relationship, & the guy proposed a break, why didn't she end it then! Second is the way the miscarriage and aftermath was handled! You do not have sex soon after a miscarriage, just like you don't after birth. You have to wait six week (1month/half) before you are cleared for sexual intercourse, that little tidbit of info can be found with just a bit or research, the fact that the author feel she could without is something that I don't feel like it reflect well on her work. The infidelity already turn me off the coulpe, and the writing without proper research finish my appreciation of the author. With two out three book in the series that I don't like, I won't be continuing with it!
Not ok with the dad getting off so easily especially with his hypocrisy towards Jett & how the whole family allows Jett to be an outcast because of the father being self righteous liar.
From the blurb of this book I thought I was going to love it, but was so deeply disappointed by it. The flashbacks didn't work for me. I didn't care about all the cheating, the drama and the plot twists.
I don't usually leave one star reviews. But since you complain about people leaving one star reviews, while attacking other authors with your own, I don't feel bad Ms. Hopkins. You bullshit about spreading light and what not, but YOU are the real bully (and people see through you). You messed with the wrong community. And all of the authors you sent threatening letters and messages to? The ones you called "hacks" and attacked as people because you decided to own the word "cocky"? I intend to find their books and buy them. Especially if they had to pull their books and then take time and money to redo their covers. Especially the people you had amazon drop. #ByeFaleena Editing this because someone on twitter shared the names of some of the affected authors: Jamila Jasper, Tessa Thorne, Nana Malone, Tara Crescent, Jules Barnard, Sara Forbes, Penelope Ward & Vi Keeland, Whitney G, Mallory Crowe, Kayley Loring, Ashlee Price, T. L. Smith & Melissa Jane, Emily Guzman, Kelly Moore, Sean Ashcroft, J.D. Hawkins, Lane Hart, & Claire Kingsley.
This is Book 3 in the Cocker Brothers series and is based around Jaxon. While I loved this series, there were some things in it that didn’t endear me to Jaxon and Rachel’s story unlike Jake and Jett’s. One of them was the constant “Off my, off his, off her” that frequently started off sentences. I don’t know if it’s just because I don’t know anyone who starts off with that phrase, it just felt off-putting or awkward to me. It also felt as if it didn’t make sense because of the phrasing although I’m sure it does somewhere—just not for me. Then, there’s a life event that occurs in the story that if you have ever experienced it, and I have more than once, you know that you don’t just bounce back physically from it the way one of the characters did in the story. I did love Sylvia and the Cocker Family BBQ as always. This story has a much darker undertone to it than the previous stories—and that’s saying something considering the subject matter of Jett’s story. While I would recommend it because each brother is endearing in their own way and their stories are unique, I am hoping that the next story has more of the elements in it that made me love the first two.
5 Stars to Cocky Cowboy (Cocker Brothers of Atlanta #3) by Faleena Hopkins.
Jaxson and Rachel.......
This was my first book by this author and I loved it! The Cocker Brothers of Atlanta Series is currently 12 books including a novella. I believe there is at least one more book to come. While I started this series with book three, a completely random decision, I had no trouble following along. The entire series is interconnected, however each can be read as a standalone.
Jaxson and Rachel hadn't seen each other for twenty years, since her family moved from Georgia when they were ten years old. Before Rachel moved, she and Jaxson were best friends. They did everything together including getting into trouble. Actually it was Jaxson that always got Rachel into trouble, lol. Some of my favorite moments in this book were when Jaxson and Rachel had flashbacks to their childhood years. Even as a child Jaxson was arrogant, cocky and self-confident. Their relationship was adorable!
The pull and connection they had as children was absolutely beautiful. When they saw each other for the first time as adults after twenty years of separation, the connection was still there. Still strong. And still unbinding.
To say that it was inevitable they would get a happy ending is an understatement. However, the journey to HEA was tense, emotional, and angsty. There were some dark and shocking moments I did not see coming. This book was well-written.
Since I obviously don't want to spoil any part of this book for you I will finish here by saying I absolutely loved this book, the characters and the heartwarming feelings I was left with after turning the last page. I can't wait to read more of these sexy brothers!
This is my honest and unbiased review. It was a pleasure to read this book.
After reading Cocky Roomie, I went into this story thinking it would be just as amusing with some angst. I never expected it to be quite so intense and passionate, with an emotional punch.
“I’ve never needed anyone, but I need you.”
Rachel and Jaxson were close childhood friends but they were separated when they were ten and haven’t seen one another for twenty years. An expected meeting results in Jaxson punching Rachel’s boyfriend, a break up with said boyfriend, and Rachel and Jaxson giving into their crackling adult chemistry, which is made richer by their childhood memories of getting into scrapes together.
The whole story was fast moving, the connection and sexual attraction was tangible, and the unexpected storyline was shocking. It was a fab read!
Rachel and Jaxson knew each other as children, until Rachel and her family moved away. Jaxson was always able to talk with Rachel unlike anyone else. Rachel lives with Ryan, a stuck up and self centered lawyer. When Jaxson sees Rachel again, the sparks fly. Jaxson is determined to not let her get away again. I enjoyed this second chance romance, with many twists and turns. I did not like Rachel's devotion to Ryan when the story opened with her realizing what a jerk he is and how poorly he treats her and most everyone else around him. She also discovers the goals they talked about at the beginning of their relationship are not his anymore and he expects her to be happy about the change. Even with his horrible words and treatment, she continues to say she love him. It was frustrating.
This is a really good book but, the twist is really odd and I did not like that part. It was ridiculous and unnecessary. Other than that, this was another solid book in the series.

When Jaxson and Rachel meet again after years new feelings blossom into wild passion, but their future holds obstacles that threaten to tear them apart. Emotions run high in this titillating second chance romance that is sure to keep you hooked until the heart-melting conclusion.
Jaxson has his own ranch, doesn’t talk much, can have any woman he wants and as far as relationships go he can live without them. When Rachel his childhood best friend shows up in Atlanta after years of no contact he is elated to see her again, but she has a boyfriend. Rachel is shocked to see the boy from years past that she spent hours with just talking about books, climbing trees; the boy who gave her a flower at nine years old. Rachel lives in New York City now and is just visiting her mom and dad. When fate gives you a second chance do you stay or go?
Loved this fast paced and wonderfully written story. The fusion of reality and fantasy make this a most exhilarating read. The characters are credible and come alive with witty dialogue, action, breathtaking scene descriptions, gripping suspense, heart-rending moments, and family love. Though Jaxson has his arrogant side his romantic side is sincere. Jaxson and Rachel are definitely a fun couple and certainly meant to be together; their romance is filled with fiery sensual passion. Tears filled my eyes when the author showed how Rachel let go of the past and hurt she experienced; a beautiful and heartfelt scene description. This story was an extremely entertaining and gratifying read. If you treasure fantasy romance this is certainly a terrific book for your library. {I was gifted this book and this is my honest review}. In the world of fantasy romance, the possibilities are endless, but always fascinating. Without reservations, I recommend this book.
Out of the Cocker clan, Jaxson is usually the quiet one. He maintains a pretty low profile, compared to his more boisterous brothers, and stays out on his beautiful ranch with his cows, horses and chickens. While he had his basic needs met by some of the many women around who would love to snag a sexy Cocker brother, not one has even tempted him to even introduce them to his family, let alone consider exclusivity. That all changes in a flash when by pure chance, he catches sight of his best childhood pal, Rachel, who moved away to NY when they were 10, and not seen since. 22 years have passed, but Jax immediately recognizes her - the one and only girl he ever asked to marry him! Unfortunately, she's accompanied by her rude, uptight, lawyer boyfriend, who antagonizes Jax (and, to be fair, pretty much everybody else around him) with his sneering contempt of all things Southern. Sparks fly, and I won't spoil the story, but rest assured that it will keep you on the edge of your seat, with some serious twists and turns and hard decisions to make. Fantastic plot and great characters.
With such uninspired and overused titles I’m not surprised she needs to cheat in order to keep them original. Instead of threatening people she should use the time to come up with something new.
Jaxson Cocker finally gets his story and what a tale it was. I was smiling at his antics and the memories that both he and Rachel Crawley reminisced about. The shocker was his father's indiscretion. I thought it from the beginning but was hoping it was not the case and then I wonder how the Congressman can ignore Jett for the choices he has made. I know, it's only fiction but I find the story so enticing, it's hard to not get wrapped in the comings and goings.
At age ten, Jaxson Cocker asked his best friend Rachel Crawley to marry him, then her family moved to New York. Twenty years later, he is watching her being kissed by another man in a market stall. She is still as beautiful as he remembers.
During a brief break from her boyfriend, Rachel Crawley throws caution to the wind and has a wild one-night stand with her childhood bestfriend and he's everything she could imagine and more. The pull between them is electric, the passion intense.
As they struggle to realise just want the other person wants, a new drama unfolds. But if I write anymore, I'll be giving the entire plot away.

Sometimes romance books (or any book in a series) can become very formulaic and tedious. I am happy to report that this book had me guessing from chapter to chapter. I like that Jaxson doesn't do and say everything the way a classic romance character is expected. I adore that Rachel also doesn't behave as your typical female character in a book is "supposed" to behave. They both have a developed personality and neither compromise too much for the other while still complimenting each other. I know men that have the same outrageous bravado so I know that is does exist outside the pages of a romance book. I am thrilled to be a part of the ARC program for Faleen and I received this book in exchange for an honest review.
First off this book will be hard for some readers, I know it was for me.....it ripped my heart out with the characters and boy did I need tissues. BUT I also loved every interaction with them, the typical Cocker attitude, with glimpses of Jaxson's peace, the shattering of beliefs and the rocking passion and what can happen when secrets are kept. Passion abounds and fists fly (boy did that make me laugh) tears poured and then laughter soared. Frustration and feeling the emotions of these characters was awesome.....but boy did I need a little bit to decompress from the roller coaster ride that is this great book.
An absolutely fabulous read! Not to give too much away but the main characters meet up again at age 32 when they haven't seen each other since they were 10. They were best friends and sparks fly instantly. There are complications, some predictable, some surprising but it is all revealed in a believable, funny, heartbreaking and triumphant way. I just couldn't put it down. Well, I fell asleep 30 pages in (I was tired, a very long day) but I finished it the next night and now I want to read it again. Faleena has another winner on her hands. Just a couple of typos seen that don't take away from the enjoyment of the story. ENJOY!
This is an excellent contemporary romance. Jaxson is a quiet man and has a lovely ranch. He and Rachel were best friends from the first grade until at age 10-11. Rachel and her parents moved away which affected both of them. Twenty years later they run into one another and sparks fly. There are nunumerous reasons for them to stay away from one another but... Trials and tribulations and destructive secrets could destroy them. I received a free copy of this book solely in exchange for an honest opinion. I love the way Ms Hopkins breathes life into these characters so that they have everyday problems like most of us. I look forward to reading more of her books in the future.
Oh how I love the Cocker brothers! Jaxson is such a gentle soul, but when he sees Rachel, the woman whom he loved as a little girl, with her hot shot lawyer that calls Jaxson a loser. So, Jaxson punched him, twice. This leads Rachel and Jaxson down an unexpected path that is full of surprises, heartbreak and family secrets. I could not put this book down once I started!! I love how when a Cocker brother sets his sights, he fights for his woman. However, could things be insurmountable? Loved Jaxson and Rachel's story!! Can't wait to see the next Cocker brother fall!! I was given this book in exchange for an honest review
I'm really enjoying Ms. Hopkins books. She is a new author for me and I'm loving this "Cocker Brothers " series. All three of her books, so far, have been packed with humor, love, hot sex, and drama. I was really looking forward to Jaxson's story and she didn't disappoint. He is the oldest one and known as the quieter brother and more of a loner. He runs into his childhood best friend , Rachel, who had to move away when she was ten, and bam, all the feelings come rushing forward and their journey begins! Great story!
I had a feeling I would love this book, and I was right! Although, I have to admit Jaxson's character wasn't quite what I expected. And the twists that I never saw coming - WOW. You think you know how everything is going to play out, but you really don't. You'll be outraged, heartbroken, happy, and definitely turned on. :) True to Falena's previous Cocky brothers books, this one is super hot, but also very sweet and definitely tugged at my heartstrings. Loved every word and can't wait for the next one!
This is my favorite Cocker brother so far. Childhood friends that get separated only to find each other again. Love how the whole soulmate thing works out. Now I can't wait for the next Cocker brother story cause they just keep getting better. If you want to read some great books read these or any of Faleenas other books she has written. She is a great writer and the books are great reads. I can never put them down.
I just finished reading the new book after receiving as an ARC... I loved it. Jaxson and Rachel story is an amazing heartfelt story, with love and sorrow and wonder. Childhood friends who knew when they were younger they were meant to be and grow up to find that love again. I wanted to cry and laugh right along with them. As always, an amazing story Faleena.
I received this book as an ARC. It was a funny, sweet story that began in childhood.....a ten yr old that quotes Shakespeare? Awesome. The story moved along quite well, even the parts that were sad. I love the interaction of the brothers and can't wait for the rest of the stories. Very well written. I am a fan for life.
I received an ARC in exchange for a honest review. I loved this book. The Cocker brothers are the ultimate bad boys with a loving heart. With Jaxson and Rachel's story I laughed and cried. I can't wait for more. The talented Ms. Hopkins has hit it out of the ballpark once more. I highly recommend this book.
I really enjoyed the book. This book brought out all kinds of reactions. From pissed off to sad to you have got to be kidding me and lastly happy. I can't wait to read more in this series, I hope they all don't bring out those reactions but I guess that keeps you wanting more just to see what happens.
